Two days ago Tom Peters posted a blog article in which he attempts to rebut concerns broached against an earlier post of his. I would suspect that among the "reactions" to which he is, well, reacting is my post about the rose-colored glasses and/or the Vortex embedded therein. I am somewhat taken aback by what appears to be judgmentalism and condescension regarding heartfelt concerns that motivate us.
His second paragraph begins with, "sure, I get it, it’s fun to be a cynic. It’s cool to be the one always predicting the next bad thing that’s going to happen." Tom et al, I assure you that we are not having "fun" dealing with the messes that are issuing forth from the Vatican. We see these "bad things" as causing confusion - the sort of confusion that can destroy faith and damn souls to hell. We write to obtain clarification of these conundrums, not because we "enjoy the novelty of being papal skeptics".
Peters then lets off with "We must trust that when the cardinals chose Cardinal Brogoglio to be Pope, the Holy Spirit knew what He was doing. So let’s quit with the doom mongering." Again, we are not "doom mongering" when we point out problems so obvious that one would have to be in active denial not to acknowledge it. But let's look at the quote again. Here we have him stating a premise then a conclusion. However, the conclusion doesn't necessarily follow from that premise. We trust that the Holy Spirit knows what he was doing; but that doesn't mean we should remain silent when there is cause for alarm.
Case in point. No one denies that the Holy Spirit guided the Cardinal's actions many centuries ago when Pope Alexander VI ascended to the papacy. No one can deny that Alexander's papacy was one huge debacle. Hailing from the Borgia family, he brought with him some "family traditions". He had people murdered, he fathered whole broods of illegitimate children and yes, he taught his children to be cut-throats as well. Lucretia Borgia was his daughter via one of his concubines. From another woman he sired Cesare Borgia - so ruthless was he that Machiavelli based his signature work The Prince on his chequered career. Would Tom Peters have called it "doom mongering" to point out Alexander's foibles? Yes, the laundry is indeed a tad spotty.
By the way - in the quote from Peters' piece that appears two paragraphs ago, I copied and pasted it from Peter's blog. Thus the misspelling "Brogoglio" is Peters', not mine. It should read "Bergoglio".
My friend at The Tenth Crusade put up an excellent rebuttal of Peters' piece. I urge you to read it. I need not rehash what she has said. Rather, I'll direct your attention to this question that he poses in his second-to-last paragraph. "If Pope Francis sees dissenting Catholics living more active lives of charity, showing more passion in their desire to fix the problems of the world, and being more vocal in the great debates of our time, what happens then?" What Peters proposes is an impossibility. Dissenting Catholics by definition are those who hold in disregard the Teachings of the Church that originate from Our Lord Himself. In separating themselves from the Church, they cut themselves from the grace of truth and they usually attempt to draw others into their dissent. Not only do they endanger their own immortal souls, but the souls of those whom they successfully seduce into their sinful patterns of belief and conduct. Whatever else "charity" may mean, it does NOT mean the facilitation of the damnation of souls. Charity leads to eternal salvation, not perdition. Far from "fixing the problems of the world", they greatly exacerbate them owing to their disobedience to the Creator of the World. For the life of me, I don't understand how Peters could suggest such an outlandish situation. I might suggest a careful study of Pope Benedict's Caritas In Veritate. As the title suggests, Pope Benedict made plain that there is no authentic charity without an adherence to truth. And yes, truth does include (in many cases) "tradition" with a small "t", for those willing to disregard "tradition" are often quite willing to jettison "Tradition".
Peters, in the final paragraph, asks "So which is it going to be?" I'll answer that. As we see problems (and yes, Tom, they ARE problems), we will continue to bring them to light in order to bring about their rectification. That's a part of "living the Gospel". I for my part ask, "How much longer are you going to engage in denial and play the Three Monkeys?"

Abortionist Harold Alexander Whines About Getting Caught
As reported some time back. Harold Alexander, Maryland abortionist operating a mill with no license, had his license suspended. Like most petty criminals, he blames his misfortunes not on his own criminal conduct, but upon those who reported his transgressions. In this case, that would be Operation Rescue. His whining is analogous to that of a bank robber blaming his imprisonment on the police who caught him or the witness who testified at his trial - not on his own aberrant way of life.
The three-month suspension is not much more than a rap on the knuckles. However, this is the state of Maryland where much of the state government is in the back pockets of NARAL and Planned Parenthood. But still that's three months when he's not slaughtering babies.
Congratulations to Operation Rescue for their hard work on exposing Alexander and so many other child-killers.

Maryland Late-Term Abortionist's License Is Suspended
Harold Alexander, partner to late-term abortionist James Pendergraft IV, had his license suspended by the Maryland Board of Physicians. His method of murdering babies involved injecting a needle into the heart of the baby (and of course through the mother's belly) to stop the heart of the child. After this step, the mother would be sent elsewhere to deliver her dead child. The murder site is called "Integrated OB/GYN Services" and operated out of Forestville, MD (Prince George's County).
Look at the photo of Alexander on the LifeSite News site. Doesn't it look like a mug shot? I think that's very appropriate. Here are more details from Operation Rescue. It is their 7-month investigation that helped bring this suspension about. For that they deserve much credit. On their site is video. If you can't see their embedded video, go here. In the latter part, you'll hear Pendergraft tell them that before any other information is released (like location, doctor's name, etc), that they must wire $6k in cash to him but that's ok, 'cause golly gee - they get a receipt! While there's just a tinge of sarcasm in my statement, most women going to have their babies killed have no idea who they've hired to invade their bodies and slaughter their children!
Obviously the video was created before Alexander's suspension, but it gives you an idea of the low-life that abortionists have allowed themselves to become.

Maryland Abortionist's License Revoked
Yes, it actually happened in the abortion-friendly state of Maryland. A few days ago, the Maryland Board of Physicians revoked the license of Harold Alexander. He's been featured on this blog in previous years - here's an anthology of posts detailing his chequered career. The happy news of the revocation comes courtesy of Operation Rescue.
Operation Rescue did much work in pushing Maryland to finally do the right thing; for that they are to be commended. But make no mistake about this fact; had Anthony Brown won the gubernatorial election instead of Larry Hogan, Alexander would still be at liberty to continue his quackery-butcher business. One of my earlier posts detailed the pro-abortion corruption that existed under Democrat governors. Elections matter. Moreover, this scenario illustrates that Republicans tend to be much more attune to moral concerns than do Democrats. We need to bear that in mind as we vote - that means you, #nevertrumpers!

Deo Gratias! Another Abortuary Bites The Dust
In Florida, abortionist James Pendergraft was hit with a $36 million dollar malpractice judgment, with his license being suspended. Hey! It's only the fifth time his license has been suspended. He partnered with Maryland abortionist Harold Alexander in his late-term murder enterprise; Alexander had his Maryland license suspended.
Today at Pendergraft's Orlando Women's Center, moving vans and police vehicles rolled up to the door to seize Pendergraft's assets in payment of the $36 million dollar judgment. The Operation Rescue article has a video clip of a patient table (on which hundreds of babies undoubtedly were murdered) rolled onto the van. That must have been a delightful sight to behold. Pendergraft himself stood on the sidewalk and watched his weapons of mass murder being rolled away. Sidewalk counselors tried to preach repentance to him, but to no (visible) avail.
LifeNews reports that a baby's life was saved today because the mom, expecting to go into the abortuary, found it being dismantled by legal authorities. Sidewalk counselors did speak with her at length and she went to a pregnancy center. Three other women likewise had to leave; let's pray that they don't have their babies murdered elsewhere.
Let us pray that all these hell-holes be closed soon.

Alexander Tschugguel In Virginia
Last evening, November 12, I was fortunate to attend a presentation given by Alexander Tschugguel. He is, of course, the young man who cleansed that church in Rome that had been polluted by the pachamama idols. His talk was hosted by the Washington Bureau of the American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property.
Tschugguel explained his reasons for his actions and went into more of the underpinnings behind the Amazon Synod. In brief, the synod was a step in the establishment of a one-world government that is, among other things, completely antithetical to Jesus Christ and His One True Church. They are advancing their causes under the covers of environmentalism and borderless societies. James Bascom, an official of the local TFP, made similar points in his remarks following Tschugguel's.
I recorded these two presentations and am in the midst of processing that footage. I should be able to post the video by tomorrow. The video was cut short simply because my camcorder battery was exhausted, but I believe the salient points were captured. Please watch the entire thing. What is discussed there is not just an interesting story of occurrences in Europe, but will have major impacts on your own parish. At this very moment, the US bishops are conducting their semi-annnual meeting in Baltimore, and they are being strong-armed into implementing the pope's progressive goals. Of course a goodly percentage of the bishops are on board with him anyway. I will have more on that tomorrow when I publish the video.

MD Abortionist Ordered To Halt Abortion Practice
I've written a bit about Maryland abortionist Harold Alexander in the past, detailing his wanton disregard for his patients. Today Operation Rescue announced that the Maryland Physician's Board has issued to Alexander a "Cease and Desist" order. Among the offenses that occasioned this order was the permitting of non-licensed employees to issue sedatives to patients. The Operation Rescue page contains a link to the actual order.
Operation Rescue, its staff and its Maryland collaborators are to be commended for their dogged efforts in removing this one threat from the Maryland landscape. Also to be commended in this instance are the Maryland Board of Physicians and Maryland Office of Health Care Quality. We now pray that CINO O'Malley sees fit to act like a true public-servant governor and let them do their jobs.

Maryland Abortionist Gets His Knuckles Rapped
What else do you call the kid-glove treatment of Harold Alexander? Last week he received a 3-month suspension of his medical license. It's his second in two years and he still will be allowed to continue? Do you find this baffling? Not at all - let me explain in two words:
Joshua Sharfstein
He's the Secretary of the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. He oversees all the state agencies who are supposed to be monitoring abortuaries (and other medical facilities). He's also quite the pro-abortion activist. Read this little expose done on Sharfstein and his chequered career. Apparently he was at the NARAL fundraising gala that we picketed last October, receiving one of their "Leadership Awards".
Carhart, Alexander et al clearly do have friends in high places in Maryland - even in the State House. The 2014 elections can't come soon enough.

MD Officials Sue To Stymie Pro-Life Access to Public Records
Maryland's Department of Health and Mental Hygiene filed suit last year to stop Andrew Glenn, director of the Maryland Coalition for Life, because the latter made a public records request for documents pertaining to the licensing of abortion centers in Maryland. He was concerned (and his concern has solid basis) that some abortuaries are operating illegally.
The excuse is that the release of the information could lead to "harassment and violence". The American Center for Law and Justice attorney representing Glenn stated that during arguments this past Friday, the state could not cite one instance where that occurred. I refer you now to Operation Rescue's report on that matter.
Whereas the release of that information led to no "harassment and violence", there's no doubt that embarrassment and humiliation have occurred - not just for the abortionists but also for the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Just last week it was reported that Harold Alexander received a three-month suspension because he (wait for it!) operating an unlicensed abortuary (again). I link to more reading material so you can see how Carhart, staff and fellow abortionists have been found to be - uh - "license-challenged"!
As I pointed out in a previous post, Joshua Sharfstein is Secretary of the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and an unabashed pro-abortion activist. See here for his past pro-abortion doings. If you want additional information, just google "Sharfstein NARAL" and feast your eyes. Does anyone doubt here that Sharfstein is simply trying to run interference for the lucrative baby-murder business in Maryland? These days it seems to be the only industry that isn't fleeing Maryland.
Let us pray that Glenn and the ACLJ attorneys prevail.

Republic vs Democracy
I came across the following video and thought that it did a reasonably good job of explaining that the United States of America was founded as a republic and not a democracy. (Click here if you can't see embedded videos)
One thing I might add is that as the Romans started enjoying their prosperity, they also forgot their morals. They became slothful and thus desirous of a government that would assume the responsiblity of providing for them - and running their lives! Sound familiar? It's happening today under the Messiah Most Miserable!
Understand that the Bill of Rights exists because the founding fathers understood that the majority could be wrong (e.g., in trampling the rights of a racial minority). Doesn't that imply that there is an immutable standard of right vs wrong that is independent of the will of the people? From whence did such a standard originate? From the Delcaration of Independence, "we are endowed by our Creator". Yep! That means that our form of government makes absolutely no sense to dyed-in-the-wool atheists! That's why some can dare to conceive that a person who despises constitutionally-guaranteed rights (Elena Kagan!) is fit to sit on the US Supreme Court! Are dots being connected here?
We're quickly devolving to an oligarchy here. We know who they are: Obama, Pelosi, Reed, George Soros (the real money-bags behind everything). I'll close this post by suggesting a study of Alexander Tyler's cycle of national life; click this link and see where you might judge this country to be.

Obvious Questions Regarding This Papacy
Any Catholic with their eyes and ears halfway opened knows that there has been much controversy surrounding Pope Francis and whether or not he will uphold the traditions of the Roman Catholic Faith. Some are concerned that if current trends continue, the Church may lose what little spiritual and moral credibility that she still retains.
There is much confusion regarding the papacy. Our Lord promised that His Vicar would never solemnly promulgate error in matters of faith and morals; that is, he'd never pronounce error "ex cathedra". That's it! That is the extent of His promise. We were never promised that all other sayings/actions by a reigning pontiff would be free from error. Too many people today equate every saying and/or doing by the pontiff, be that saying/doing ever so trivial, with the spiritual weight of a truly ex cathedra pronouncement. They are either: 1) utterly convinced when such errors happen that the Church has apostatized and thus is no more or 2) be overly scrupulous about accepting such misstatements as ex cathedra and thus condemning those of us who take exception to such misstatements.
We were never promised a holy and/or intelligent pope at all times. Indeed, history shows that some popes have been outright scoundrels. Alexander VI comes to mind. He, while sitting on the throne of Peter, had several illegitimate children. Lucretia Borgia was his daughter. His son is said to be the inspiration for Machiavelli's "The Prince". The son apparently learned some murderous tricks from his father. If we've had less-than-holy pontiffs in the past, we've no reason to presume it can't happen again.
Let's face it. Pope Francis has caused many eyebrows to raise. While I have neither desire nor competence to accuse him of any malice of heart, by the same token I'm in no position to excuse him of any such thing in the light of so many questionable incidents during his pontificate.
Right from the start of his papacy we knew things were going to be unusual. For the sake of brevity I'll not elaborate on them in this post (at least not too much). I'll post links that will go more into detail, as I do believe we should all be aware of these matters.
We learned right away that Pope Francis had no plans to reside in the papal apartments in which his predecessors had all resided. Rather, he chose to occupy a suite of rooms in the Casa Santa Maria, a Vatican guest house. Some might opine these arrangements to be more modest than the apartments; one must wonder what expenses were incurred to adjust this suite to be adequate living quarters. We also learned that he was removing some of the ornate features of papal vestments and - disconcertingly - referring to himself as "Bishop of Rome" as opposed to "pope" or "pontiff".
Here is a list of other changes noted by some during his first few weeks of his pontificate. Some might argue that these matters only deal with externals. But are they perhaps taking an overly simplistic look at how this pontificate is evolving? These matters, such as the apartments, the papal slippers, his preferred title, etc aren't merely externals. They are part and parcel of the tradition of the papacy, a tradition that transcends the individual preferences of the man who may be on the Chair of Peter at a given moment. Such traditions link him with his predecessors and with his role as Vicar of Christ. I'm sure previous pontiffs may have chafed at some of the traditions themselves, but they embraced the traditions as part and parcel of their new vocation. Moreover, as has become evident, attitudes towards relatively minor matters are often harbingers of attitudes towards more weighty matters.
One addition to papal vestments was rather banal. In congratulating a newlywed couple, he saw fit to don a clown-nose and pose with that thing on his face. Sense of humor, one might say? It's more like an affront to the dignity of his high office. Like it or not, no pope is simply "just one of the guys". He's the Holy Father, the Vicar of Christ. Like all ordained, the Holy Father doesn't "punch a clock". The Sacrament of Holy Orders confers on the ordained an indelible mark upon his soul, a mark that lasts into eternity. Any priest is an "alter Christus"; why would he disregard that high dignity for even a moment?
Such "clowning around" segues into real violations. Last year, after the World Youth Day in Brazil (you know, the one where bishops were led in a silly dance by gay choreographer Fly), Pope Francis returned with several souvenirs: a beach ball and soccer jersey. So what did he do with these items? He went to St. Mary Major Basilica and put them on the altar - right next to the tabernacle. The altar of any Catholic Church is reserved for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. When the words of Consecration are uttered by a priest saying Mass at that altar, the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity comes down on that very altar. That altar is to be reserved for sacred use only: not to be the receptacle for cheap baubles.
I've posted before on the various impromptu interviews that he has given; see this link. These interviews have caused immense damage: damage that has at least been anticipated and tolerated, if not deliberated.
There has been papal disdain for spiritual bouquets offered on his behalf; see here and here. There is the draconian treatment being meted to the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate; see here. We've seen him NOT genuflecting during the Consecration of Masses, but he does kneel when protestants "pray over him". During two Holy Thursday liturgies we've seen him wash women's feet, in direct violation of rubrics; see here and here for evidence of the damage done by poor example. Then there is the damage being done in the name of ecumenism; some of us have renamed it "ecumenicide". Another name for it is indifferentism.
Do we have a problem in the Vatican? A reasonable person might conclude from the foregoing list that indeed we do. The jury might still be out on that question, but bear in mind that the preceding list is from a papacy less than three years old. Again, not one of us is qualified to judge his heart or motives, but we do look at what has proceeded from the Vatican thus far.
Again, Our Lord promised that His Vicar would never solemnly pronounce error, but that's as far as the promise goes. We must pray for Our Holy Father and all clergy. We must also have our eyes wide open and not be afraid to utter objective truth, be that truth ever so unpopular or uncomfortable. Else our prayer won't be worth much.

Thank Bishop Sample!
Bishop Alexander Sample of the Diocese of Marquette (Michigan) acted courageously to keep wolves from his sheep - even if one of those wolves happened to be a fellow bishop. His statement regarding the episode with Bishop Gumbleton is on the diocesan website. We need more like him - and Bishop Martino, Archbishop Burke and some others.
Please call him or email him to convey your thanks. Our good bishops must be encouraged.

Help Stop A Travesty At Gonzaga Church In DC Next Weekend
Thanks to my colleague "A Washington DC Catholic", I learned of the planned retreat next Saturday, March 3, at St Aloysius Gonzaga Church. It's to be conducted by heterodox Bishop Thomas Gumbleton and is sponsored by Pax Christi. I found nary a peep of this on any of the Gonzaga pages - but the Pax Christi site announces it.
Below is the open email that I just sent to Father Clifford, Gonzaga's pastor. I copied the Washington Archdiocesan Chancery. Given Bishop Gumbleton's past practices, it's quite possible that the Chancery was never received notification, let alone request for permission. Still, they need to be made aware of this and we need to urge them to take corrective action, should Father Clifford not see fit to do so. Father Clifford's email address is tclifford@gonzaga.org and the chancery can be reached at chancery@adw.org. Now the email, entitled "Please cancel Bishop Gumbleton's appearance at your church next weekend."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please be advised that this letter will be made open on the blog http://restore-dc-catholicism.blogspot.com. Any responses - or lack thereof - will likewise be posted. Thank you for your immediate attention to this crucial matter.

Father, it is with deep concern that we write to you with the above-cited request. We only learned of it less than two days ago from the website of Pax Christi (see http://www.paxchristimetrodc.org/2012/02/12/retreat-with-bishop-gumbleton-march-3/). His reckless disdain of the Magisterium's positions regarding women's "ordination" and gay "rights" are well-known. How someone with so little regard for the truth can be deemed worthy of giving a retreat to the parishioners in your charge is beyond me.
As you can see, I am copying the Archdiocese of Washington's Chancery regarding this. There has been an unfortunate pattern of Bishop Gumbleton entering another diocese to speak without giving the host bishop the courtesy of due notice. Such happened a little less than two years ago when Bishop Alexander Samples had to publicly disinvite him from coming into the Diocese of Marquette (see http://www.dioceseofmarquette.org/upcarticle.asp?upcID=2123). Just several months ago, a similar situation occurred when Bishop Gumbleton issued statements favoring the unions in the Wisconsin tulmult. The local bishop, Robert Morlino, was forced to issue his clarifying statement (see http://ncronline.org/news/justice/wisconsin-exposes-bishops-split-unions).
Having now been made aware of Bishop Gumbleton's troubling pattern of spreading heterodoxy whenever and whereever he deems fit, won't you please do the proper thing and rescind that invitation? Else the DC Chancery may face that unpleasant task. Should his appearance go on as currently scheduled, there may well be a presense of some of our number to uphold the Majesterium of the Church.

Alexander Tschugguel, In The Spirit Of St Boniface, One Of Those Who Purged Pachamama Filth
This young man from Austria is founder of the St Boniface Institute. He has now released a video to explain why he and a friend felt compelled to rid the Catholic Church of pagan, idolatrous filth. Please go to that website to see that video that contains his statement on the episode.
You can also donate to the St Boniface Institute. In fact, if anyone is looking for a more worthy recipient of your November donation dollars than the CCHD, I'd highly recommend them. Caveat - this website, being Austrian, accepts only Euros; here's a converter you might use and others exist.
So far, the faithful Catholic media outlets that have interviewed Tschugguel include LifeSiteNews and ChurchMilitant. I hope there are more - more people like Tschugguel.
And they are cropping up. This past Sunday in the Archdiocese of Mexico City, Father Hugo Valdemar burned an effigy of the pachamama and offered prayers of reparation for the sins of idolatry. Here is the LifeSiteNews article and I'll post this video now.

Abortionist In Maryland Engaged In Unlicensed Practice
Harold Alexander, late-term abortionist, is attempting to "fly under the radar" as it were. Rather than "reinvent the wheel" I'll link to the report researched and compiled by Operation Rescue. Please take the actions that they suggest at the bottom of their report.

Alexander Tschugguel's Entire Address Here On Video
As promised yesterday, I post below the video of Mr. Tschugguel's talk given in Virginia this past Tuesday. I made some preliminary remarks, and my blogging colleagues at Les Femmes, who also attended, issued their commentary.
Both Chriss and I, in our commentaries, mentioned that the establishment of a masonic "new world order" is the aim of progressives and their allies who have infiltrated our church, and even the papacy. We saw this in the reports coming from the USCCB meeting in Baltimore this week. The papal nuncio, Archbishop Christophe Pierre, ordered the US bishops to not only get themselves in line with the "magisterium of Pope Francis" but to ensure that we laity, we the Great Unwashed, fall lock-step in line.
The Les Femmes bloggers made mention of a favorite buzz-term of progressive Catholics: "social sin". They are correct in their treatment of it. One of the unspoken tenets of social sin is that personal sins, such as sins of the flesh, do not matter in their world view; neither do their resultant actions, especially the murder of babies. They flat-out contradict Our Lady of Fatima, who told the children that more souls go to hell because of sins of the flesh than for any other reasons, but I digress.
A resolution was discussed Tuesday to emphasize the preeminince of pro-life voting in the bishops' voters' guide for the 2020 elections. Cardinal Cupich called for a downplaying of that resolution and was backed by Archbishop Gomez (newly elected USCCB president) and Bishop McElroy. They claimed that the downplaying was more in line with the "magisterium of Pope Francis". They are factually correct about that. Read the account here and watch the video; that such a matter was debated is its own disgrace. The bishops voted and the stronger, more direct language was maintained. However, 1/3 of the bishops, that is, 69 bishops, voted in support of Cupich's proposal. As you can see in the article, they voted to emphasize the "social sin" hooey over actual truth.
By the way - Archbishop Gomez's election to the USCCB presidency is being hailed as a "historical vote" because he is the first Latino to occupy that position. Yippee! But here's an added reason why his election is "historical". He's also the first one elected while under state investigation for alleged sex abuse coverup! Double yippee!
One thing that must be emphasized that as this "magisterium of Pope Francis" makes its ugly presence felt, that we must be prepared to resist it when it does. We must be prepared not to let abominations into our churches, be they idols, clowns, liturgical dancers, heresy from the pulpit. Of course we will pay some hefty costs. Are we prepared?

Is Pope Francis The Mouthpiece And Face Of World-Wide Progressivism?
From One Peter Five we read that a few days ago, at the World Meeting Of Popular Movements in California, Pope Francis released a letter that:
- publicly praises the Alinskyite organization People Improving Communities through Organizing (PICO for short)
- advocates open resistance to President Trump's attempts to bring order to immigration in the US
- falsely declared that "muslim terrorism does not exist"
At that same meeting, Bishop Robert McElroy of the Diocese of San Diego snarked, "President Trump was the candidate of disruption. Well now, we must all become disrupters." McElroy was appointed by Pope Francis to his current position. Since then he has stated that adulterers and gays should "utilize the internal forum of conscience" when it comes to receiving Holy Communion; in other words, this errant bishop is lulling these mortal sinners into heaping more mortal sin on their souls, rendering even more distant the prospect of eternal salvation. I've written on McElroy in the past.
I would urge careful study of the first two links to understand how this California meeting is setting the stage for "community-organizing" rackets funded by George Soros to dominate the affairs and priorities of the Church hierarchy. Indeed, the 1P5 piece voices the opinion that since Hillary Clinton has been effectively jettisoned from prominence, that the mantle of "front-man for progressivism" has fallen on the all-too-willing shoulders of Pope Francis.
There is cause for that opinion, it seems. Recall how wikileaks played a role in the defeat of Hillary Clinton as emails were leaked that detailed all sorts of nefarious deeds of the Democrat cabal. From Gloria TV we now see another revelation from these emails: that Clinton, Obama and George Soros orchestrated the "resignation" of Pope Benedict XVI, using bribery and blackmail to oust him and usher in Pope Francis. At the time I suspect that they didn't think that Pope Francis would be the front-person for anti-God progressives as they fully expected Clinton to win the White House. But since both Clinton and Obama no longer wield official sway, the pope could be seen as someone to fill that void. I regret that he seems to be performing aptly in that role.
Last month LifeSiteNews published a piece called, "2016: The Year That Pope Francis Finally Showed His Hand". Several of us saw that earlier than 2016 as warning signs did abound. Even to this day, some Catholics refuse to accept that all may not be well with this papacy despite all evidence to the contrary.
Understanding that in most cases "personnel is policy", let's look at some of the seismic shifts in personnel. We've noted the ouster of Cardinal Burke from his positions at the Vatican. Now he's been jettisoned from the Knights of Malta while being slandered in the process. We see Cardinals Muller, Sarah, Pell being treated as though there were targets drawn on their backs. Meanwhile we see dissidents like McElroy, Cardinal Joseph Tobin, Cupich being elevated to roles of responsibility. Today Judie Brown of American Life League lamented the de facto dismantling of the Pontifical Academy for Life - a council in which she was a member for fifteen years. Most of the prominent members of that council - including Cardinal Caffarra, one of the "dubia cardinals" - took strong exception to Amoris Laetitia and the confusion caused by it.
In the past 2000+ years of Church history, the Church has had to deal with pontiffs who didn't live up to their office and who in fact were quite evil - Alexander VI comes immediately to mind. While we cannot say for certain that such is the case now, we'd be dishonest to pretend that the same couldn't be the case now. We need to pray for the Church and its leaders - many of whom have thrown in their lot with anti-God progressives and wreaking havoc on the faith of millions.

Yet Another Seedy Baby-Killing Dump In Maryland
I wrote late last year about a number of abortionists who were plying their trades in Maryland, practicing such shoddy medicine that the MD Physician Board had no choice but to take notice. We know that Maryland attracts these maggots like a carcass draws vultures owing to lax abortion laws and abortophile lawmakers in Annapolis (including the faux-katholic in the governor's mansion).
Operation Rescue has unearthed another illicit late-term operation, this one run by James Scott Pendergraft of Florida. His license there is in its fourth suspension and he has no license elsewhere - including Maryland. He is working with one Harold Alexander at 7610 Pennsylvania Avenue in Forestville MD. More details can be found on the Operation Rescue site, including a video.
Mention is made of regulations of abortion facilities that are scheduled to go into effect July 23rd. It took the Stephen Brigham debacle to get the State of Maryland to take this important matter seriously.

Prayer Of Reparation For the Idolatrous Acts During The Last Synod For The Amazon
Bishop Athanasius Schneider, who earlier extolled the heroism of Alexander Tschuguell and his friends for purging the Church of the heinous pachamama idols, has suggested that faithful Catholics everywhere pray the following prayer.
I should note that the bishop believes (and I agree) that the pachamama crap is a tool of the progressives to usher in a new banal "religion" to supplant Catholicism and that they've been attempting that since the Vatican II council.
I reproduce the bishop's prayer below for your own prayerful use.
“Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, receive through the hands of the Immaculate Mother of God and Ever Virgin Mary from our contrite heart a sincere act of reparation for the acts of worship of wooden idols and symbols during the Synod for the Amazon, which occurred in Rome, the Eternal City, the heart of the Catholic world. Pour out in the heart of Our Holy Father Pope Francis, of the Cardinals, of the Bishops, of priests and lay faithful, your Spirit, who will expel the darkness of their minds, so that they might recognize the impiety of such acts, which offended your Divine majesty and offer to you public and private acts of reparation.
Pour out in all members of the Church the light of the fullness and beauty of the Catholic Faith. Enkindle in them the burning zeal of bringing the salvation of Jesus Christ, true God and true man, to all men, especially the people in the Amazon region, who still are enslaved in the service of feeble material and perishable things, as the deaf and mute symbols and idols of “mother earth.” Enkindle the light of faith in those persons, especially in the persons of the Amazonian tribes who do not yet possess the liberty of the children of God, and who do not have the unspeakable happiness of knowing Jesus Christ and having in Him a participation in the life of your Divine nature.
Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, you are the one true God, besides Whom there is no other god and no salvation, have mercy on your Church. Look especially upon the tears and contrite and humble sighs of the little ones in the Church. Look upon the tears and prayers of the little children, of the adolescents, of young men and young women, of the fathers and mothers of families and also of the true Christian heroes, who in their zeal for your glory and in their love for Mother Church threw into the water the symbols of abomination which defiled her. Have mercy on us: spare us, O Lord, parce Domine, parce Domine! Have mercy on us: Kyrie eleison! Amen.”

Background Story Of The Pachamama Dunking And Some Bizarre Catholic Reactions
Recall several months ago how the pachamama idols were worshipped in the Vatican, in full sight of the pope. This happened not once but several times. It even happened at the closing Mass of the synod, when Pope Francis accepted a pachamama plant and placed it on the altar.
We of course were delighted when the pachamama filth was tossed into the Tiber. Some time later, one of the two dunkers came forward - Alexander Tschugguel of Austria. He has since told his story and shared his traditional Catholic faith with many. Recently he was in the news as one who suffered the covid-19 virus and who came out of it.
A few days ago, in an interview with Taylor Marshall, the two men discussed these events. In the course of the conversation, they revealed Marshall's role in the pachamama dunking, as one who financed Tschugguel's air fare back and forth between Rome and Vienna.
Perhaps covid-19 has infected some Catholic brains, but I learned of this largely through some Catholics who took umbrage at Marshall's role in the deed, implying that he was merely playing the publicity hound throughout the matter. They even cast those aspersions on Tschugguel himself, going so far as to say he faked his corona affliction for publicity.
My first reaction to reading the details of the incident was, "so what?" How did that garner such vituperation? I have some questions for these detractors:

My first reaction to reading the details of the incident was, "so what?" How did that garner such vituperation? I have some questions for these detractors:
- How do they think that Tschugguel flew back and forth between the two cities? Do they think he and his friend just levitated through the air, or maybe bilocated as some mystics throughout the centuries did? News flash! Air fare costs money! Marshall put up his own funds. How dare some impugn Marshall's motives for so doing? If you don't think he deserves some respect for so doing, well, that's on you. However, by what stretch of logic do you villify him for his actions?
- I detect just a slight note of shame underlying the wags and naysayers for their own cowardice and lack of initiative. It's all too easy to say that those who do get off their butts to do something are not acting in good faith, for somehow that makes their own torpidity not look so bad. To be honest, I've been on the receiving end of such nonsense myself.
I'm not inclined to link to the prattlings of these malcontents right now, for I don't want to increase their hit counts. I might have to do that in the future, if this problem persists. I remind such individuals that contumely and calumny are sins.
Meanwhile, I will now post the interview below. The discussion of the pachamama incident begins at the 1:06:00 mark. They also remind us of that meeting scheduled for May at the 1:13:40 mark. I do hope that the corona situation causes that planned debacle to at least be postponed, as it has for so many other filthy events in Baltimore (see here and here).
