Cupich's Dissidence At SinNod - Another Reason To Sign The Canon 212 Petition

I and other faithful Catholic bloggers have written copiously about the many travesties perpetrated by Archbishop Cupich of Chicago.  Recall that he is now at the sin-nod, at the express direction of Pope Francis.  Some may have wondered how the Pope could have named Cupich to the sin-nod in light of his flawed moral compass.  I don't; in fact I believe the pope knew full well Cupich's proclivities and that was the reason he brought Cupich to the sin-nod.

We are now hearing that Cupich is using his new-found bully pulpit to finagle the admittance to Holy Communion those embroiled in flagrant mortal sins: adulterers and sodomites, to be precise.  These would be people currently and unabashedly continuing in their sinful situations, not those who have repented and made good Confessions.

LifeSiteNews and Voice of the Family recorded an interview given by Cupich in which he outlines his diabolical proposal.  Let's look at a few salient points.

• Those adulterers and sodomites who feel marginalized do so because they have marginalized themselves by their embrace of mortal sin.  Let us thank God for these "feelings" as they might be the impetus that these people need to repent.  Let us pray that they do repent soon before they're marginalized for all eternity.
• "Conscience is inviolable"?  No - not if it moves in contradiction to the teachings of Jesus Christ.  Everyone of us - adulterers and sodomites included - have the solemn duty to form and inform our conscience in conformity with the Church.

Church Militant TV has added commentary.  I'll be candid.  Unless he's a complete dunderhead, the pope knew precisely what Cupich's pet causes were before he appointed Cupich to the see of Chicago and invited him to participate in the sin-nod.  He didn't seek out Cupich despite his leanings; he sought Cupic because of his leanings.

They are trying to use the sin-nod to "mainstream" the gay lifestyle into acceptable Church practices, and allowing sodomites to come to Holy Communion would be a major step for them.  Unfortunately it would also be a major step towards hell, for receiving Holy Communion in a state of mortal sin is its own mortal sin.  Austin Ruse wrote a piece on the way that high Vatican official maltreated Kim Davis.  They seem to harbor malevolence towards anyone who stands in the way of these goals or who exposes their malfeasances by virtue of their own proper conduct - thus their utter contempt for Kim Davis, a courageous lady who puts these Vatican officials to shame.

This sin-nod is, at best, an abysmal joke.  Please consider signing this petition.

Pope Leo XIV Breaks The Record For How Many Errors Can Be Crammed Into One Statement

Several weeks ago, Cardinal Blaise Cupich, Archbishop of Chicago, announced his intentions to bestow upon pro-abortion and pro-gay U.S. Senator Dick Durbin a "lifetime achievement award" for his support of - you guessed it! - illegal immigrants crashing through our southern borders.  This award was supposed to have been bestowed in November  

Immediately Bishop Paprocki and Archbishop Cordileone urged Cupich to cancel that award.  Other bishops soon followed in their condemnation of that award.  In the words of Complicit Clergy, Cupich told them to "pound sand".  Of course Cupich holds the slaughter of babies to be of little importance.  Recall that as Bishop of Spokane, Cupich forbade his priests from participating in the local 40 Days for Life efforts in his diocese.

Pope Leo was asked about this Cupich-Durbin scandal.  He responded by adding his own verbal manure to the pile.  Not only does he trot out the "seamless garmet" tripe, but also slanders faithful Catholics and good pro-life people in the process.  Please watch below the jump-break.

Petition For The Removal Of Cardinal Cupich

A petition has been started for the resignation of Cardinal Cupich from his position as Archbishop of Chicago.  Please sign it and spread the word.

He has his priorities exactly ass-backwards from where they should be as a Prince of the Church.  Let's look at Cupich since he is actively engaged in trying to destroy another good priest, Father Paul Kalchik.  As reported before, he has ordered Fr Kalchik to go into confinement for "psychiatric treatment"; i.e. he ordered the priest to undergo brutal brainwashing.  Kalchik has literally fled for his life, much as Archbishop Vigano has.

But Cupich does have some priests in Chicago who would be legitimate patients for "psychiatric treatment.  Mahound's Paradise advises us of Father Richard McGrath, who has been credibly accused of sodomizing a 13-year old boy.  Their response?  Why, allow him to live within walking distance of a Catholic grade school, of course!  The mess was all over the Chicago newspapers so the archdiocese cannot credibly claim ignorance over the matter.

Then there's Father Michael Pfleger, "Obama's other pastor".  That nickname most likely indicates the reason why Pfleger wasn't sacked while the Messiah Most Miserable befouled the White House.  But now Obama's gone, so what's the excuse?  Could it be that Cupich and Pfleger are of the same mindset?  Well, let's see!

Cupich thanked Chicago police for allowing Pfleger to shut down Chicago highways to protest "gun violence".  Yes Pfleger is so against "gun violence" that he threatened to "snuff out" a gun shop owner.  I wonder if that is how the two vicars got their idea to issue their none-too-veiled threats to Fr Kalchik?  But I digress.  Anyway, perhaps I'm being too hard on poor ole' Pfleger.  After all, he can be the model for civility, calm, rationality.  Perhaps he doesn't need "psychiatric treatment"!  See for yourselves!



See?  Isn't that just charming and reassuring?  No wonder Cupich lets him go untethered.  He and Cupich are of the same mold - and that is NOT sarcasm.  Please sign that petition and call the Chicago chancery.

A Sin-Nod Circus Starts This Week

What might that be?  Why, it's the so-called summit entitled "Protection of Minors in the Church".  In light of McCarrick's dismissal from the clerical state - and the reasons for it - you can see the problem right away in the title of gab-fest.  Approximately 80% of the victims are young men over the age of 14.  They are not little children.

Hilary White, on her blog, posted a video in which Edward Pentin and another ask a panel of clerics, including Cardinal Cupich, about the focus of this summit.  They make the point that most of the victims are past puberty and that many of the victims are seminarians.  They, in a word, challenge the focus, opining that there should be at least some time devoted to their predation.  Cupich et al do quite a job tap-dancing around the question.  Basically, they tell Pentin that the focus is on the protection of children and that is that.  At the very least, I'd hope that Cupich et al understand that the Catholics in the pews are not going to be fooled by this upcoming dog-and-pony show.

The pope has designated Cupich to be the head honcho of this thing.  As this LifeSiteNews piece reminds us, Cupich is the one who dismissed Archbishop Vigano's testimony about then-Cardinal McCarrick's predation on young men, stating that the church wasn't going to "go down that rabbit hole".  Cupich now has many eggs on his face as the events of last week have vindicated Vigano.  Cardinal Muller, in commenting on the sin-nod, quoted the statistics cited in my first paragraph, stating that "anyone who ignores the facts does not want to solve the problem".   Indeed they don't for they are trying to put on an concerned facade while not acknowledging that the victims of the perversions of their buddies, or even themselves, are young men.

That last sentence is the key reason why I refer to this upcoming debacle as a sin-nod.  They seek to keep the chickens available as prey for the chicken hawks.  Recall that at the most recent USCCB meeting, a vote on action against these sex predators was taken off the table by Cupich, ostensibly to wait for the outcome of this staged cover-up of the real problem.  Now we see why, from their warped perspectives, they wanted that vote put off; they want to make certain that young men, including seminarians, are still fair game for perverted clerical lusts.

How long, oh Lord, how long?

Let's Rebuke Cupich NOW!

This past Saturday I touched upon Cardinal Cupich and his malevolence to one of his priests who is actually acting to expunge evil from his parish.  The flag-burning did occur, with Father Kalchik's participation.  Apparently this symbol of sodomy was used by the late Cardinal Bernardin (surprise!).  It was hung so that it blocked the hand-carved Crucifix over the altar; see the PJ Media article for a depiction of the sacrilege.

I called for a phone and email blast of the Chicago chancery over the treatment that Cupich is inflicting on Father Kalchik.  Some replied that perhaps Cupich just didn't want a media spectacle.  To that I say, "too bad"!  Where is Cupich's concern about "spectacle" when Father Michael Pfleger acts up?  And is he really having cold feet because he doesn't want a spectacle, or is he just doing the bidding of his gay-mafia puppet masters and sugar daddies?  Should the Apostles have stopped preaching the gospel because of "spectacle"?  Read in Acts how Peter and John responded to very similar demands by the sanhedran.

Speaking of faithful priests persecuted by dissident bishops, I post now an interview that Father Marcel Guarnizo gave to HotAir.com. His segment starts in the middle of the clip so you can just move the button to the middle; where his picture appears is the beginning.  Father Guarnizo rightly states that the bishops are indeed the source of the problems AND that the laity must act to rectify the matter.  Yes, we must pray, but we must also act.  Too often faithful Catholics have been way too reticent when it comes to speaking out.  What is the source of that?  Timidity? False humility?  Whatever it is, we must overcome these obstacles, for if we don't, our prayer will be hamstrung, if not outright nullified.

With that in mind, we can start by protesting Cupich's draconian and vindictive treatment of Father Kalchik.  Here is the contact information for the Archdiocese of Chicago.  Call the first number 1-312-534-8200.  Then follow the "search by name" prompts for Cupich's office.  You will get his secretary.  Voice your displeasure politely but sternly.  The gay cartel have these campaigns down to an art and we must best them at that.  I called this afternoon, and I hope that many more will call.  Spread the word.

Latest Betrayals By The Pope And Cupich

At the end of this month, the pope will formalize an agreement with Communist China that will essentially give to the Chi-coms the authority to decide who will be appointed bishops in that country.  As part of that agreement, the current bishops who have served the Church in the face of hostility and threats from China will be thrown under the bus by their chief shepherd.  The memories of those Chinese prelates who died in prison, are who had their lives shortened by communist brutality will be held in disregard, if not outright disdain.

Many church leaders had been calling on the pope to cancel the so-called "synod on the youth" to be held next month.  They rightly state that the Vatican in its current condition has no moral credibility to deliberate on how to serve young people correctly.  Well, the charade will go on (as of this writing).  Today the Vatican released a list of those who will participate in this synod.  Those names include Cardinals Tobin and Cupich, two prelates who are implicated in Vigano's statement quite heavily.  With this tone-deaf list, the pope and Vatican prove once again why this synod will be an abysmal joke.

Speaking of Cupich, he is at present preparing to snuff out an ember of faithful Catholicism in his diocese.  Father John Kalchik of Resurrection Parish in Chicago announced that he was going to hold a public burning of a gay rainbow flag that the previous pastor allowed to desecrate the Church.  The local gay mafia notified Cupich who immediately ordered Kalchik not to proceed.  The parishioners took over and held the flag-burning anyway.  So now Cupich is threatening to remove Father Kalchik's faculties as a priest.

Doesn't Cupich sound like the sort of person who would be the least qualified to discuss spiritual guidance for the Church's young people?  So did Francis select in spite of his disdain of Catholic morality - or because of it?

But faithful Catholics must remain silent and not raise their voices, you see?  Else we might be "punished by serpents".  Yes, he really said that.

Corrupt Clergy Endeavor To Keep Young People From Holy Mass

Apparently taking inspiration from Father Reese, Cardinal Cupich followed his example, and more.  He not merely lamented young people going to Mass, he forbade Catholic students at the University of Chicago from attending Mass - all to keep safe from covid cooties, of course!  Mind you, the administration of the University of Chicago didn't issue this prohibition; it was purely the machination of Cardinal Cupich.  Cupich didn't just forbid them from going to Mass on campus, but also at nearby churches.

The article to which I linked speaks eloquently of the spiritual starvation that Cupich is wreaking on the Catholic students.  Indeed Cupich is spiritually abusing his young flock.  The author is speaking from her own experience as she herself is a student of the University of Chicago and is currently feeling the effects of Cupich's callous disregard of his episcopal duties.  He has quite a list of his transgressions over his sorry excuse of priestly life, some of which overlap my own list.

I will now link to a response to Father Reese's snit-fit, but won't comment about it.  Enjoy!  What I will also suggest is that you listen to the video, featuring an exchange between Taylor Marshall and Father Chad Ripperger about the merits of the Mass, particularly the Traditional Latin Mass.  In the interview, Fr. Why I Believe Cupich's Appointment To Chicago Bodes Ill For The Church

As most people know by now, Pope Francis has appointed Spokane's Bishop Blase Cupich as Archbishop of Chicago to succeed the ailing Cardinal George.  This appointment, particularly on the heels of the de facto sacking of Cardinal Burke to the hinterlands, causes much consternation to faithful Catholics.

It was exactly three years ago when Cupich forbade his Spokane priests to participate in the 40 Days for Life Campaign.  I wrote rather extensively about that disgrace.  Moreover, when the Messiah Most Miserable polluted the once-holy grounds of Notre Dame University, he did not join the protests of other US bishops against that debacle.

My friend at Les Femmes reported on what some progressive rags are saying about Cupich.  They are ecstatic.  Given what I wrote above, their glee (from their perspective) has basis.  Now we read how the gay rag, the Advocate, chortles over this appointment.  Ladies and gentlemen, they advocate mortal sin to the detriment of their immortal souls.  Why do you think they gloat?  Because they believe that they have in Cupich someone who won't trouble their consciences with the truth!

There also seems to have been some considerable - how do I say it? - political maneuverings within the Vatican to secure this appointment.  Rorate Caeli believes that Cardinal Oullet and the Congregation for Bishops were sidestepped by Pope Francis at the suggestion of the Apostolic Nuncio to the United States.   Missing from the Congregation of Bishops, of course, is Cardinal Burke - removed by the Pope and replaced by Cardinal Wuerl.  Rocco Palmo of Whispers in the Loggia has key points to ponder (his post is long, but work your way through it).  He seems to think that Cardinal O'Malley and Cardinal Wuerl gave support to Cupich's nomination (I can see them also lobbying to keep Cardinal Burke away from that see).

There have been way too many ominous signs from the Vatican to ignore.  The enemy lies within and his minions wear clerical garb.  While we know that the gates of hell will not prevail against the Church, in this struggle the forces of hell can wreak much havoc and cause the eternal damnation of countless souls.  Pray your Rosaries and beg God's mercy on His wounded Church.

Guess What Week It Is??

NATIONAL IMMIGRATION WEEK!

If you were ignorant of this momentous occasion, I confess so was I!  But not all were so oblivious!  Certainly the progressives who wear miters aren't.  In the Chicago Tribune appears an editorial by Cardinal Cupich, opining that "It's Immigrants Who Have Made America Great".  Of course it's a screed for blanket amnesty for law-breakers.  Yes, immigrants have played a crucial role - immigrants that have respected the rule of law in the United States and who have earned their way as opposed to those who break laws and expect handouts.  As you read that piece, you'll see how Cupich obfuscates the difference between those who are decent law-abiding people and those who aren't.

Cupich went so far as to have two "immigrants" speak from the altar last Sunday.  Mahound's Paradise points out that one of these "immigrants who have made America great" is a Muslim who just happens to be a follower of a Muslim cleric whose idea of "jihad for the sake of Allah" includes "smashing skulls and severing limbs".  He also approves of Muslim women offering their, uh, "services" to these jihad lunatics.  Doesn't that sound like a dandy recipe for "making America great"?  This is the kind of spiritual poison that Cupich let into his church.  Lest we forget, Cupich wielded much influence at the Synod on the Family at Pope Francis' initiative.

Christopher Manion has some choice words for this politically correct pandering.  He points out that the great majority of American bishops do not stand up for central moral issues of our faith, e.g., abortion, homosexual conduct, but they will wax eloquent about amnesty for illegals and other progressive nonsense (global warming, etc).  He brought up the example of Cardinal Joseph Tobin defying then-Governor Mike Pence on the matter of enforcing immigration law.  Mind you, this is he same Tobin who couldn't be bothered to bestir himself when a Catholic facility in his diocese was being rented out for a "lesbian commitment" debacle, but he could huff and puff in the face of a governor who was simply carrying out his duties of office.  Let us recall that both Tobin and Cupich are recent recipients of the "red hat", again at the instigation of Pope Francis.

The USCCB has been busy on other "important" matters.  A few days ago, one of their task forces released a report to "root out racism".  They developed some recommendations.  The first one is to engage in Masses and rosaries.  They could have stopped right then and there for the other suggestions seem straight out of some Alinskyian play book.  Parishioners should be "trained in intercultural competence"?  Brainwashing much?  There is also "dialogues on racism and dialogue".  Got that?  We get to "talk about talking"!  But they save the best for last: beef up support for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development.

Just put "Catholic Campaign for Human Development" or "CCHD" in the search box at the top left of this blog (by the magnifying glass icon).  You'll see a mountain of posts, with links to excellent material, regarding the inimical origins and nature of the CCHD.  Support for the CCHD has been dwindling throughout the years because decent Catholics are becoming more aware of the ultimate destinations of the money they contribute to the CCHD.  Despite pleas to the USCCB throughout the decades to reform the CCHD, the bishops refuse to address these matters.  The CCHD deserves not one red penny in donations.

How much evil these bishops could root out if they simply decided to return to the Catholic faith and being real bishops.

Cupich Persecutes Father Bus After Committing Idolatry On New Year's Eve

Father James Altman demands, at the 1:00 mark, that Cardinals Cupich and Gregory "turn in their red hats".  

In regards to Cardinal Gregory, he is referring to this stunt that Cardinal Gregory and then-Cardinal McCarrick pulled in 2004.  Later in the clip, he states that evil has entered into the hearts of many prelates, for how else could they facilitate the public sacrilege of pro-aborts receiving Holy Communion?

Let's take a closer look at Cardinal Cupich, shall we?  Two weeks ago I posted that Cupich seems to be the designated poster boy for the pope's insidious attempts to quash the Latin Mass.  In that post is video of the raucous debauchery that Father "Snuffy" Pfleger called a "Christmas Eve Mass". 

Recently, Father Anthony Bus. pastor of St Stanislaus Kostka parish asked the Chicago see for permission to offer Holy Mass ad orientem.  Permission was denied.  Father Bus replied with an open letter on January 13 acknowledging that he would be obedient to the directives, but also expressing his disappointment at the decision.  In that letter he spelled out his reasons.  Before you proceed with further reading of this post, I ask you to read completely Father Bus's open letter.

Apparently the Chicago chancery took umbrage at that letter; that is to say, their guilty consciences were stung - much like the consciences of those who immediately after hearing St Stephen, stoned him.  On January 17th, Father Bus wrote another open letter detailing the mischief meted out to him by Bishop Lombardo.  Note that Father says that Canon 1373 was cited against him.  Perhaps I should say was misused against him.  We all knew that is precisely why Pope Francis stuck that poorly worded thing in canon law, and here we have a prime example of its intended purpose.  So now Father is being sent to some hinterland to "reflect on his priesthood", whatever the hell that means!  It is very reminiscent of what happened in my own parish nearly ten years ago.

One Mad Mom has an excellent take on this situation.  Her reference to Father Martin is no doubt occasioned by this, written after Bishop Strickland defended Father Bus.

So, according to Cupich, Father Bus and the priests of St John Cantius are to be stifled, while he himself can be the principal celebrant at a pagan Chinese New Year ceremony?  Check out this write-up, complete with video.  Cupich's attempts to quash the Mass of the Ages is most likely a feeble attempt to justify his own blatant idolatry.

From The Maturation Department: Cupich, Harbinger Of Looming Sin-Nod Disaster

I have documented the ways in which Bishop - now Archbishop - Blaise Cupich has disgraced his miter and crosier.  The latest crack that was supposed to be his statement regarding the Planned Parenthood videos was simply the latest.  I needn't rehash it all here; please review this anthology of posts.

Several of my blogging colleagues have expressed their dismay over Cupich's words and deeds:

No doubt we are just a sampling of those sounding the alarm regarding Cupich.  In the light of the evidence regarding Cupich's progressive, as opposed to truly Catholic mindsets, what does Pope Francis do?

Pope Francis appointed Cupich as a delegate to next October's Ordinary Synod on the Family.  We all knew that he would be an alternate delegate to replace any regular delegate who might be rendered unable to attend.  But now he's a full delegate.  Is this disgusting appointment part of the "maturation" that the pope said we had to undergo at the close of last October's sin-nod?  If nothing else, this appointment is a harbinger of the mess that will the sin-nod that will happen two months from now.

Cardinal Gregory Repeats Skullduggery Of 2004 USCCB Meeting

Two weeks ago, Archbishop Gomez, current USCCB president, announced his intentions to discuss whether or not pro-abortion politicians should be admitted to Holy Communion.  It was reported that Cardinal Ladaria, current head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, advised against it.  In fact, he advised that the body of bishops come to consensus - meaning that they would have to discuss the matter.  The whole business of Ladaria trying to squelch the topic appears to be a wild interpretation of what he actually said.  I regret that two weeks ago, I didn't catch onto their duplicity.  There is reason to believe that Ladaria issued that directive at the request of Cardinals Tobin and Cupich.  One could suspect that wasn't exactly what Tobin and Cupich wanted to hear.

Perhaps Tobin and Cupich took cues from Cardinal Gregory and MISTER McCarrick.  In 2004, during the USCCB meeting in Dallas, then-Cardinal Ratzinger, then head of the CDF, issued "Worthiness to Receive Holy Communion" and directed that it be read during that meeting.  Gregory and McCarrick conspired to conceal the real letter and issued a deliberate misrepresentation of that letter, implying that it was up to individual bishops to make those determinations in their own locales.

Now some progressive prelates, among them Cardinals Cupich and Gregory, are attempting to recreate the deception that Gregory himself perpetrated seventeen years ago..  They and sixty+ of their colleagues wrote a letter to Gomez with the intent of preventing such a conversation at their June meeting.   Gregory already said that he won't deny Biden Holy Communion.  It seems like Gregory in particular has an odd pattern of thumbing his nose at the CDF. 

We don't know who the 60+ other prelates are, who are trying to stonewall discussion about the denial of Holy Communion to proabortion politicians, outside of Gregory, Cupich and O'Connor.  We know who some aren't, besides the obvious exception of Gomez himself.  Bishop Paprocki has stated that this issue must be faced.  Archbishop Cordilione and Archbishop Aquila stated the same.

Truth be told, Canon 915 is crystal clear and really requires no "discussion", just obedience.  But I suppose they think that if they can stonewall "discussion", they can stonewall obedience.  Do they really think God will continue to be mocked like that?

From The Fox Guarding Hen House Department: Cupich To Head Vatican Sex Abuse Summit

We saw last week how Cardinal Cupich did the pope's bidding as he stopped the USCCB from taking steps to address the episcopal sex abuse scandals.  It was clear that both he and Cardinal Wuerl had no intention of addressing the matter in any meaningful fashion.

Neither does the pope.  Else, how does one explain the pope's appointment of Cupich to head up this Vatican sex abuse summit that is slated to happen next February?  It will be a sham, just as has been all these synods and meetings that have happened in the past few years.  I've no doubt that even now Cupich, Wuerl, Tobin and others are working on "synod documents" that will be completely fabricated long before the summit attendees arrive in Rome.  The summit will be just another dog-and-pony show to pretend that the Vatican is all into "collegiality" and that they are "listening" and "accompanying" when nothing else could be further from the truth.

So what might this "summit summary" have to say?  Did Cardinal Cupich give us a hint with his suggestion that some clergy sex offenses were "consensual" and should be treated differently.  And who can forget his dismissive "rabbit hole" quip?  Might this be a ploy to normalize sodomy in the priesthood and elsewhere?  I suspect the outcome of this summit has already been determined and that it will accomplish diddly-squat when it comes to eradicating the filth from the clergy.

Archbishop Cupich, Meet Archbishop Chaput

Several days ago I posted the story about Archbishop Cupich claiming that the murders of babies was no more heinous than unemployment.  I said in that post that many bloggers were appalled by this latest blunder from an archbishop.  Now another archbishop has taken public umbrage at the lunacy uttered by Cupich.  Archbishop Chaput of Philadelphia lent some much-needed clarity to the situation.  He refuted Cupich's errors without mentioning his erring brother bishop by name.  Read Archbishop Chaput's words here.

Cupich's Rabbit Hole Is A Qucksand Pit

Remember how a few days ago, when asked about the pope and Cardinal McCarrick, he said the pope wasn't "going down that rabbit hole"?  Refresh your memory here.

Well, it seems that Cupich has found himself trapped in quicksand, and it's both his own doing and following along the lines of his buddy McCarrick.  Two Chicago-area priests were in Miami (why did they go there?) in a car near a public beach performing oral sex on each other.  In other words, they were engaged in perversion.  The car's windows were not tinted and everyone - children included - could see what was transpiring in that car.  The priests were arrested.  One of the two, Fr. Diego Berrio, was a tribunal judge for the Archdiocese of Chicago and was involved in "youth ministry".  I say "was" for Cupich stripped him of his faculties.  I might suggest a thorough review of that "youth ministry".

DC's Cardinal Gregory The Latest To Bare His Teeth At Faithful Catholics Attending The Traditional Latin Mass

We've been anticipating this for quite some time, especially after Cardinal Cupich stated that the Institute of Christ the King would be personae non gratia starting August 1st.  Well, here it is - the official assassin's bullet from Cardinal Gregory.  It is just as draconian and tyrannical as is Traditionis Custodes.

Read that thing.  He starts off with a lot of compliments for those attending Latin Mass, but it's really just a butter-up job.  After dispensing with those pleasantries, Gregory gets down to business.  To wit:

• Traditional Latin Mass can only be celebrated in three non-parochial locations in the DC diocese.  St. Mary's in Chinatown, where the Traditional Latin Mass has been celebrated for many years, is not one of them.
• They can only be celebrated on Sunday - in other words, no Latin weekday Masses.
• Priests must apply for permission to celebrate the Latin Mass, even as a private Mass
• Masses for Christmas, the Triduum, Easter and Pentecost must be celebrated in the Novus Ordo.  The TLM is forbidden for these holy days
• All other sacraments must be administered in the Novus Ordo rites.
• Scripture readings must be given in the vernacular, with a translation approved by the USCCB.  Since the readings are always repeated in the vernacular, I can only suppose that giving the readings in Latin will be forbidden.

Why would these prelates wish the obliteration of the Latin Mass?  At those Masses, one can understand the majesty of God and the immensity of the Sacrifice of Christ.  The latter happens at each Mass, albeit in an unbloody manner.  The attendees are there to worship God, not to have warm-fuzzies types of experiences.  Yes, there is community, but that happens after Mass, in the church lobby.  There is always reverential silence before the Blessed Sacrament.  By the way - young people are flocking to these Masses after having been gypped so long by Novus Ordo Masses with their stripped-down prayers and human-centered atmosphere.  The Latin Mass is the Mass of the Ages, having produced saints for over 1,000 years.

I started that last paragraph with a question.  The following sentences described benefits that should give the prelates pause in their attempts to quash the Latin Mass, but in reality they are the very reasons why these prelates, many of them progressives and/or masons, have a visceral hatred of that Mass.  They not only lack supernatural faith in God, but actually harbor animosity towards Him.  Even the Washington Post looks askance upon Gregory's vindictiveness towards the Latin Mass.

Vox Cantoris reproduced an open letter by Archbishop Vigano who unpacked the implications of Cupich's assault upon the Catholic faith.  That was before Gregory pulled his stunt today, but I believe what is said about Cupich also applies to Gregory.  He is correct in saying that neither Cupich, nor Gregory, nor even the pope have any right to deprive us of the Mass of the Ages.  The bull of Pope Saint Pius V, Quo Primum, states quite as much.

So once again we are put in the position of having to resist clerical tyranny, but resist we must.  The tactic of "going along to get along" is simply not morally permissible.  So what to do?  First, find a Traditional Latin Mass in another diocese.  They are happening in northern Virginia and Baltimore.  Take yourselves - and your money - there.  Yes, it seems like money is one of the few languages these corrupt shepherds understand, so we must speak it.  Keep protesting the chancery.  Raise protest, especially at events where the cardinal appears; in those cases, be respectful but firm.

Traitorous Bishops Galore

Yes, they abound.  At this time a retired Italian bishop has earned top (or bottom) ranking of sacrilege and betrayal.  Bishop Raffaele Nogaro, bishop emeritus of Caserta, said that he "is ready to turn all the churches into mosques" to facilitate the de facto muslim invasion of his country.

When I first heard of this, the term "judas priest" came to mind.  Indeed, he voiced his willingness to cast aside the Blessed Sacrament so that idolatry could be conducted in sacred grounds.  Would he be willing to remodel the churches so that child-"marriages" could take place or make rooms for the performance of female genital mutilation?

In addition to the passage from Matthew 15 to which the linked article refers, I'd suggest for consideration Matthew 24, beginning at verse 11.  Therein Jesus warns not only of false prophets but also of "the abomination of desolation..standing in the holy place".  We can also think back to Exodus 32, the first instance of mass idolatry committed by God's people - instigated by Aaron the first high priest.  While God forgave the people after exacting a great punishment, Aaron would never see the promised land.  Will these scenarios be repeated to appease those who hold to the barbarism of Islam?  We can be grateful that Nogaro is an emeritus and not the actual prelate, thus lacking authority to implement his treachery - but how many more are of his mindset?  Now Judas betrayed Our Lord for thirty pieces of silver.  What are the "thirty pieces" being offered to Nogaro?  Is George Soros the financier behind all this?

Coming stateside, we now deal with more antics from Cardinal Cupich.  Recently, he caused Father Frank Phillips, a traditional priest from the Canons Regular of St John Cantius, to be removed as pastor of the parish of that same name because of allegations of improper conduct.  Despite the proper investigations that exonerated Father Phillips, Cardinal Cupich refuses to restore him to his former position.  Father will take recourse to canon law; I pray he prevails.

Meanwhile, a real dissident Chicago priest, Father Michael Pfleger (Where have we heard that name before?  Oh, yes!  He's "Obama's other pastor"!) decided to protest gun violence by shutting down a major highway for several hours.  Cardinal Cupich reacted by thanking officials for allowing Pfleger's debacle to occur.  By the way - take a look at Father's shirt.  Those are raised fists!  They are most commonly associated with violent revolution - the kind that Michael Sean Winters awaits with bated breath!  They certainly don't evince sentiments of peace and non-violence!  But then again, Father Pfleger did threaten to "snuff out" a local gun shop owner - all in the name of peace!

So Cardinal Cupich stabs faithful priests in the back while allowing renegade priests to run rampant.  He and Bishop Nogaro are but two of many "judas priest" bishops.

New Chicago Archbishop - A Harbinger Of Disaster For The Church

In many ways, the Church hierarchy in the United States was already a mess, with liberals occupying the Sees of key dioceses.  By appointment of Pope Francis, one more such individual, Bishop Blaise Cupich as Archbishop of Chicago to replace the ailing Cardinal George.  Many of us recalled his abysmal wafflings in not standing for true morality.  I wrote over the years about his derelictions, including the forbidding of his priests' participation in the 40 Days for Life campaign and being one of the cowardly bishops who refused to protest Obama's appearance at Notre Dame in 2009.

It didn't take him long to get started on his progressive rampage.  He apparently wasn't pleased that more women weren't involved in his installation Mass and made quite plain that he wants more women involved in "leadership".  Well that should just inspire more priestly vocations (yes, that is sarcastic)!

This past Sunday on Face The Nation, Cupich said of pro-abortion Catholics receiving Holy Communion that "the grace would be instrumental in bringing them to the truth".  What grace?  Is not Holy Communion a Sacrament of the Living?  I'm no moral theologian, but it seems that no grace could accrue to someone in a state of mortal sin until that sin is properly confessed in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  Otherwise, instead of grace comes the guilt of the sin of sacrilege.

Two other things that he said during that interview are, to be frank, whoppers.  First he stated that "I would not use the Eucharist, or as they call it 'the Communion rail', as a place to have those discussions in which people should be excluded from the life of the church."  This language has a very familiar ring to it!  Go back five years.  When Cardinal Wuerl was asked about denying Holy Communion to Nancy Pelosi, he said he wouldn't because the Church "doesn't use communion as a weapon".  My!  They do have those talking points down pat, don't they?

Then Cupich said that "the Eucharist is an opportunity of grace and conversion; it's also a time of forgiveness of sins".  It sure does sound like His Excellency is getting some sacraments confused with one another.  The "time of forgiveness of sins" particularly mortal sins (as is the support of abortion), is within the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  It is that authentic forgiveness of sin (requiring real repentance, by the way) that is necessary to receive Holy Communion worthily.  Else what you have is an occasion of the mortal sin of sacrilege.  Period.

Last week I observed that the USCCB and many bishops seem to have forgotten that their first job as bishops is to save souls.  Read this post, particularly the first paragraph that quotes the Baltimore Catechism on this matter.  It seems that not only has Bishop Cupich forgotten that basic truth, especially with regards to so-called "immigration reform" but he even had the unmitigated audacity to declare that "immigration reform", as defined by progressives, is God's agenda!  In his nonsensical statement, he says that "God has called us to a better life".  What defines this "better life"?  A life lived for God, marked by obedience to His laws, prayer, reception of the sacraments - or merely a more advantaged life?  The two aren't necessarily opposed to each other, but neither are they equivalent to each other.  It seems His Excellency doesn't get it.

Under this current pontificate, must we dread similar episcopal appointments in the future?

Archdiocese Of Chicago - A Trial Run At Quashing The Mass Of The Ages?

Below are two Christmas Midnight Masses that happened in Chicago last week.  The first is one that happened at St Sabina, "pastored" for eleven years by Father Michael Pfleger.  I've written much about him in the past.  Truth be told, he's a nut-job.  Well, what else do you call someone who claims to be against gun violence, but then called for a gun shop owner to be snuffed?  His words, not mine. 

In this anthology of posts about "Snuffy" Pfleger (my new nickname for him, for aforementioned reasons) you'll see some of his Masses that are nothing more than garish extravaganzas.  This Christmas mass follows along that pattern.  I use the word "mass" loosely for there is such disregard for the most basic rubrics that I'm not sure the Eucharist was confected and thus not sure real masses took place.

This clip is over two hours long.  It is replete with loud band music, strobe lights waving all over the place, the ubiquitous liturgical dancers twirling and prancing hither and yon, etc.  I'd advise you not to try to watch the whole thing, unless you have the stomach for it.  The Consecration (or charade of consecration) takes place at the latter half.

The other clip is from St John Cantius.  It is a solemn high Mass in the Extraordinary Form.  It is reverent.  All attention is directed to Our Lord and the Holy Sacrifice.  True worship of God, and of God alone, is taking place.  That is precisely why the progressives want this Mass obliterated.

So why am I and others directing so much attention to the Archdiocese of Chicago?  It's because Cardinal Cupich issued a policy that basically directs the long knives at the Traditional Latin Mass - not the gaudy hooplas at St Sabina, but at Traditional Latin Masses such as those conducted at St. John Cantius.  Consider that Cupich's policies were announced in Vatican News.  That fact alone indicates that what Cupich is doing may well be at the behest of the Vatican as a "trial balloon", if you will.  Scroll to the bottom of this link to see a pdf outlining Cupich's restrictions.

To reiterate what I said in another post...  Traditionis Custodes is NOT to be obeyed.  It is immoral and sacrilegious on its face.  This is the oath that all popes take when they are coronated.  How is Traditionis Custodes not in violation of this?  We will continue to attend the Tradtional Latin Mass.  Those of my readers who attend the Novus Ordo should consider supporting the continuance of this Mass and to combat any deviation from the General Instructions for the Roman Missal.  I'd also urge you to attend at least one of the Traditional Latin Masses.

It is difficult to predict the future, not only because of the pope's obvious animus towards the Mass of the Ages but because of the governmental tyranny that encroaches under the guise of "combatting Covid".  But as so many of our ancestors did before us, by the grace of God we will ensure that the Mass does not die, even if we must do so in spite of our prelates.

More Vomit From The Youth Sin-Nod

What else can be expected when it starts off with the pope carrying a wiccan stang into the opening Mass?  I just started to glance at the Instrumentum Laboris and that promises to be a stinker, too.

At this thing, the attendees were put into fourteen groups for discussion, all led by prelates.  Cardinal Cupich led one, Cardinal Maradiaga another.  Right there you can see the rigging in the works.  Cupich's group allegedly called for "recognition of other forms of family".  Stop right there.  A family comes about when a biologically born man and a biologically born woman enter into matrimony and beget/raise children.  Not two men, not two women, not self-mutilated people or any other permutation, pretenses and delusions notwithstanding.  So why might I think that Cupich might have forced that conclusion?  Well, let's examine the following facts about his Archdiocese of Chicago.

Father Rigoberto Gamez of St Aloysius parish has recently been charged with several instances of sexual battery.  He is now ordered to wear a monitoring bracelet.  Currently he is Associate Vicar for Canonical Affairs for the Chicago archdiocese.  Will he retain that position and his parish assignment?

Father Michael Guimon of the Friars Servants of Mary is head of the priory at Our Lady of Sorrows National Basilica in Chicago.  Within that priory he hosts what are essentially gay hook-up meetings and he is a "gay masseur".  In other words, he has turned the basilica into a sodomite orgy den, profaning that sacred place with filthy abominations.

Will Cupich laicize these two?  Who knows?  We do know he has the long knives out for Father Kalchik who is still in hiding lest he be dragged to St Luke's because his parishioners burned a gay flag.  This is the sort of prelate who has been given a key role in this sin-nod.

I post now a video from Remnant TV showing a rather raucous performance by young people, with prelates obviously enjoying it.  One commenter wrote that he noticed just how much the bishops were enjoying seeing young men gyrate and prance about.  Sadly he's probably correct.   See for yourselves and keep praying.
