Maryland NARAL Rebuked At 2012 Gala By Our Picket

On Friday we announced two events for pro-life prayer and activism.  The first event, NARAL's "Evening of Chocolate" fundraising blood-feast, occurred yesterday.  At least fourteen pro-lifers were there to greet them at the entrance to Sandy Spring Volunteer Firehouse, where NARAL had rented out the Oak Room for their fundraising orgy.  Our picket line actually stretched down from that driveway to the Brooke Road / Route 108 intersection.  There is a stoplight at that fairly well-traveled intersection so all those passing by got an education as to what was occurring at that time in their neighborhood.  Quite a few of those driving by gave us "thumbs-up".  Some of those going into the blood-feast raised other fingers at us - what can be expected of those minds and sensibilities dulled by the support of baby-murder?

Futile Attempt To Hide Truth

The "pro-choice clinic escorts" in our area are organized under the umbrella of the Washington Area Clinic Defense Task Force.  Their orange jerseys used to bear that name and logo.  It is that to which I made reference.  Isn't it revealing how they try to hide the truth of the horror they advocate?  Whom do they think they're fooling?  Maybe themselves, although I doubt that's a smashing success.  Click here if you can't see the embedded video.

Young Lady, Almost Aborted, Tells Her Story

Please watch this and pay attention.  Understand some things.

• Prayer alone will not suffice to end abortion (or any other heinous evil).  We must act.  We must place ourselves - on a regular, frequent and committed basis - where the need is.
• One person - such as the sidewalk counselor of 18 years ago - can and will make a vital difference.
• At the 2:30 mark, note that the young lady makes plain that the usage of pictures depicting the horrible reality of baby-murder was a factor in saving her life.

NARAL's "Chocolates For Choice" - Picketed!

Although a small crew of us were there to speak words of righteousness and repentance to NARAL's shindig last night (that both served as blood-feast and fund-raiser), it was enough to hopefully prick a few consciences and to cause them to reconsider their hell-bent paths of life.

Often, when consciences are pricked, anger is a first reaction.  While we hope that this anger engenders subsequent reflection, that isn't always the case.  Suffice it to say that consciences were pricked.  We were also in downtown Rockville which is the seat of Montgomery County government - that is, we were in the heart of one of the top liberal lala lands in the US.

The NARAL folks were a bit miffed that the exposed truth of what they're promoting might cause their chocolates to go sour.  They called the police - the Rockville City Police in this case.  Four officers showe up - one for each of us!  One of the officers had this exchange with one of us.  (Click here if you cannot see embedded video).



Notice that the officers' main point is that "people don't like seeing the signs" (paraphrased, but listen for yourselves).  Well, so what?  Since when is exercise of First Amendment rights grounds for police action?  Then he said that the folks attending the bloodfeast wanted to have a nice evening (again, paraphrased).  That's laughable!  A "nice evening" with chocolates paid with (at least in part) the blood money paid to murder babies!

After claiming that some realty company actually owns Gibbs Street, they told us to cross Beall Avenue or get arrested.  It turns out that was actually advantageous for our purposes, since most of the NARAL attendees were parking there anyway - and walking right by us.  Even after we crossed the street, the cops stuck around.  I suppose the City of Rockville is so crime-free that four officers can just lolly-gag around to keep those dangerous signs and pamphlets away from those who profit from the murder of babies.  Perhaps that's the fault of their dispatch officer; at any rate, the City of Rockville just wasted tax dollars to soothe the consciences of NARAL.

There's hope for the NARAL folks, though.  If Bernard Nathanson, a founder of NARAL, can convert and devote the rest of his life to fighting abortion, then so can anyone of them.

By the way!  Take a look at the webpage announcing the event!  In particular, note the third paragraph, first sentence, where it says, "As in years past, we will feature our famous chocolate martinis and decedent chocolate desserts"    Now note that underlined word.  One might think that was just a careless spelling mistake when they meant to say "decadent".  Consider that the word "decedent" means "dead person".  Might we have an unconscious acknowledgment that this event was a blood-feast?  (NARAL, don't bother changing it now!  Many of us have already cached the page!)

Images Of Abortion

Dr Monica Migliorino Miller, Director of Citizens for a Pro-Life Society (and one of the Notre Dame 88) has released a new website dedicated to the telling, in pictoral format, the truth of abortion.  The pictures are horrid.  The reality is even more devastating.  As painful as it may be to behold them, consider the utter agony which these children were forced to undergo as they were literally torn apart.

These murders happend in the US at least 3500 times every day.  We have much blood guilt as a nation.  What are you doing to stop this?  To the extent that you remain passive in the face of such evil, to that extent you have the blood of babies on your hands.  Get up from your comfort zones and act NOW.  Join a 40 Days for Life effort for a start.  Continue that witness beyond the 40 Days session.

When I saw the email from Dan Holman of Missionaries to the Pre-Born (IA), I thought he was forwarding to me news of a pro-abort satirical effort designed to mock the 40 Days for Life campaign.  Not so!  Here's the screed email.

Sebelius Finds Pictures Of Aborted Babies To Be "A Discomfort"

Recently in Chicago NARAL held a luncheon that doubled as an Obama fundraiser.  Outside, a group of pro-lifers proclaimed the truth of NARAL's murderous nature by holding pictures of aborted babies.  Our less-than-illustrious HHS Secretary, Kathleen Sebelius gave an address.  I suppose "Sebelius was feeling so bileous" (and yes, the pun is intended).  She felt that she had to commiserate with her fellow murder-supporters and acknowledge their pain (without calling it a pang of conscience, of course).  She sniffed, "I know that some people were a bit appalled at walking through the demonstrators as you came to this lunch.  It is a discomfort when you’re coming to lunch, but think about the women who are trying to tap into the health services they desperately need who have to go through that kind of gantlet in order to access all-too-infrequent services…."


A few things for Madame Secretary to consider:

• Your little luncheon, funded at least in part by abortionists to support murder, was a blood-feast.  Most sane people find that appalling, let alone the daily murders of thousands of babies.
• The sight of the babies was probably the only truth the NARAL crowd received that afternoon.
• The truth hurts and causes discomfort only to those who insist on living in deadly fantasy-lands.  Like it or not, we will continue to proclaim that truth.

Spokane Bishop Forbids His Priests From Engaging In Pro-Life Activism

Today, on this Solemnity of the Triumph of the Cross, comes the news that Bishop Blaise Cupich of the Diocese of Spokane (WA) has forbidden his priests and seminarians from engaging in pro-life activism.  I suspect Peter Kreeft had him in mind when he made the statement featured in my post from yesterday.

They are forbidden from praying in front of Planned Parenthood or any other abortion mill.  Moreover, they are forbidden to promote such activities.  He went so far as to name the "40 Days for Life" effort as one of the forbidden activities.  He went on to forbid the distribution of any pro-life materials on church grounds, save for those published by the Washington Catholic Conference.  I suppose that means that advertisements for post-abortion healing are also forbidden?  Such materials are allowed in my church; they fly off the literature racks.  That should give us an idea of how many Catholics hurt from abortion.  Is the bishop really cutting off that avenue of help for these poor people?

Now what are his reasons?  He allegedly said that he doesn't want anyone who "represents him"  to be associated with "extreme" pro-lifers who use graphic pictures of aborted babies.  If this is true, this statement is an utter disgrace for a bishop.

It is supremely ironic that news of this is breaking on this Solemnity of the Triumph of the Cross.  We celebrate the Cross today, with His Precious Blood shed for us.  We do not flinch from the Cross, in all its raw pain and brutality, for such was the price paid for our redemption.  How then does a bishop of Jesus Christ order his priests to turn from the babies who are being slaughtered in his diocese?  He doesn't want his priests to be "extreme"?  Does he not realize that Jesus seemed "extreme" to Caiaphis and the other religious leaders of Jerusalem?  With whom does Bishop Cupich identify - Jesus or Caiaphis?

In all fairness to the bishop, there has been no public statement from his diocesan offices.  However, it would be incumbent upon him to clarify any misunderstandings (if indeed this is merely a misunderstanding).  To that effect, I urge all to contact him.  The diocesan site is http://www.dioceseofspokane.org/; contact information is found therein.  First let's ascertain the truth and then we'll go from there.  More later.

Good For Peter Kreeft!

Kreeft: It would be wonderful if 100 bishops got thrown in jail for marching with graphic images

That is the title of the Lifesite News article in which we see Kreeft decrying the deplorable refusal of so many bishops to attend pro-life efforts because of the presence of graphic abortion pictures.  He asks a great question, that I'll repost here: "What is wrong with exposing people to the truth?  Suppose you were allowed to show the horrors in Auschwitz to the average German citizen?  It might have toppled Hitler earlier.  If something horrible is happening, covering it up is more horrible."  
 
I wonder if these same bishops are in the habit of removing their pectoral crosses, that show the Crucified Body of Our Lord.
 
To my fellow pro-lifers who put themselves in the "squeemish camp", I have this to say.  The graphic signs at the abortion mills work.  They save babies!  Why do you think the pro-abortion folks are so itchy to vandalize them and to have them removed and even banned?  Please - decide that you are going to get over that squeemishness immediately.  If they cause discomfort (and they should), please offer it up and join in solidarity and prayer with the babies for whom such horror is the last thing they know in their short time in this life.

The Truth About Abortion Sends Pro-Abort Lemmings Into A Tizzy

What is it about pro-abortion people and their visceral reactions to the true pictures of abortion?  Could it be that their consciences are stung by the truth?  Might it be that their abortionist pals might lose out on a few hundred dollars if an abortion-bound woman sees the pictures and (gasp!) chooses not to abort her baby?  Just last week at the Silver Spring Planned Parenthood we saw yet another typical knee-jerk reaction, as a deathscort tries (in vain) to block the truth.  Take a look to your right!  Note that tell-tale orange vest.

In another area of the country, the Northland Family Planning Center in Lansing, Michigan, tried to put a pretty, smiley face on the horror of abortion via a video in January.  The Center for Bioethical Reform took that clip and spliced some shots therein telling the truth about abortion.  Seeing that their attempt to put lipstick on a rattlesnake was being foiled, the abortuary is threatening to sue CBR.  The Thomas More Law Center is representing CBR and sent a letter to the abortuary's attorneys stating that they would be happy to take the matter to court.

"If Slaugtherhouses Had Glass Walls.."

"Everyone would be a vegetarian."  Then this video goes on to show the gruesome process of slaughtering animals.  The whole idea behind this is to convince one and all that such practices are inherently immoral and that all should foreswear meat to keep the slaughter from being done to animals.

Let's change the scenario a bit with this statement.  "If abortion centers had glass walls, everyone would be pro-life."  That's why we show the pictures.  That's why pro-abortion proponents and those who make their blood money from baby-slaughter cringe when the truth is shown.

Alberta Bishops Cop Out Of Their Local March For Life

Actually, they claim to be boycotting that March for Life.  And what is the lame excuse?  Oh yes, it's lame!  They're not coming because march organizers cannot guarantee that participants won't bring graphic abortion pictures - the ones that tell the plain truth about what abortion is.  The pictures that do tend to prick consciences with their frank depiction of the horrid violence that is abortion.

I suppose the bishops don't want people to be made uncomfortable by the truth.  But isn't that the nature of truth?  There are, in fact, only two authentic reactions to truth.  They are:

• Acceptance of the truth and adherence to it, usually resulting in repentance and coversion
• Rejection of the truth and bitter hatred of those who bear its standard, often resulting in violent actions to the truth-bearers (the woman mentioned in the post below suffered such violence)

No phony "kinder and gentler" approach will do, as any attempt to spin the truth or put a "kind face" to it will inherently render the truth to be falsehood.

So why are the bishops refusing to be around the stark depictions of the truth?  Will they soon be taking down the crucifixes from their churches and other buildings?  The Lifesitenews article from which I gleaned this information has the contact information for these bishops.  Please - particularly my Canadian readers - write to them and insist that they "man up" to their sacerdotal graces and responsibilities.
