Gay Mafia Infesting Catholic University Of America?

There are signs of that, unfortunately.  Here is the directory of their Campus Ministry staff.  Of note is the Associate Chaplain for Graduate and Law Students, Rev Andrew Santamauro, OFM.  Father Santamauro has a Facebook page, which I'll copy below in case it is, uh, "changed" within hours of this blog posting.

Notice that red box with the two horizontal lines.  Ladies and gentlemen, that is the logo of the Human Rights Campaign, an organization dedicated to the fomenting of perversion and the destruction of marriage and authentic family life.  The placement of that on Father's page is not an accident.  I'd be delighted to learn that Father was not responsible for its placement and that someone else put it there unbeknownst to him.  Barring that, I'd have to say that the Campus Ministry Office at CUA is severely compromised.

  1. It's Gone! What powers you possess. Or are you an IT guru and snatched it off his FB? Maybe you converted him to Catholicism?

  2. I've known him f years and he is a good priest. He probably had a misplaced sense of compassion. I've known him for years and he is a good priest. He probably had a misplaced sense of compassion. He appeared to at least attempt to take serious from the catechism #2358. They (homosexuals) must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. Even if their actions are objectively disordered.

You should spend more time praying for him then judging. Offer a rosary rather than throw a strone. You might get a better result.

    1. First let's dispense with the "don't judge" red herring for your own post is full of judging. You're passing an evaluation on Father, you're passing an evaluation on "unjust discrimination", you're judging my post as "throwing stones", are you not? We all judge actions. You're merely trying to shut me up, but this attempt won't fly.

I understand that Father was told to take down the offending Facebook page, so I'm glad that this post, along with the efforts of some others had that good effect.

Here's a problem with his "misplaced sense of compassion". As a priest, Father was in a position to influence others into sharing his "misplaced compassion". I hope that is being addressed so that he doesn't lead anyone astray (as he may well have done).

You say you've known him for years? In all that time, did you try to help him see the error of his way? Or do you in fact share in that same error - or at least sympathize with it?

  3. Heh, my wife is a CUA alumna. The nickname they gave Campus Ministry in her time at CUA was appropriately "Campus Heresy". She would definitely get a chuckle over this mindset not changing.

  4. I don't know how he would consel people on that issue.

He knows my thoughts and I don't agree or sympathize with him.

However you didn't respond or reject my encouragement to pray for him.

And referring to him as a part of a "gay mafia" may perhaps be a bit strong...

    1. Whether or not he is conscious of that aspect, I don't know. I am aware of other gays on staff so there's no gainsaying that there is some attempt to exert influence.
