Hillary's Email Scandals May Hit Close To Home

As Hillary Clinton's email woes were unfolding all over the internet, I had my suspicions as to the origins of this news.  Mind you, I do suspect that indeed she bungled her responsibilities there but the timing of the news break - and Obama's seeming nonchalance - was rather telling.  Coupled with the common knowledge that there's not much love lost between the Obamas and Clintons, I had reason to suspect that this news broke with the assistance of the Messiah Most Miserable.

Now it turns out that my suspicions have substance!  The New York Post has details, alleging resentment at the snubbing that Obama got from Democratic candidates during the 2014 elections.  Valerie Jarrett appears to be more of the mastermind than Obama himself, but there seems to be an attempt to sabotage Hillary's run for the White House in 2016.

Now here's the "close to home" part.  Jarrett has been allegedly courting two other Democrats to run against Hillary.  One of them is Elizabeth Warren; I suspected she was a favorite.  But the other took me a bit by surprise - former Maryland governor Martin O'Malley!  We know what a bang-up job he did in Maryland, don't we?  Rain tax, illegal immigrants everywhere, jobs not everywhere, gay "marriage" and of course, a corrupt legal environment assuring Leroy Carhart unfettered baby-killing opportunities.  Frankly I don't know why they'd consider O'Malley, since his less-than-stellar time in the State House led to the election of a Republican governor (otherwise almost impossible in Maryland).

If O'Malley runs, it will be most telling to watch the reactions of local Catholic prelates.  Here's hoping they don't gush over "the opportunity for another Catholic in the White House" for that CINO would only trash the One True Church and her Faith and Morals.

Let us pray.

Martin O'Malley - Pioneer In Bogus Human Rights

Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley, who has made no secret of his White House ambitions, has just enlightened us ignorant slobs about the existence of a basic human right earlier this week.  And just what is this "basic human right"?  Trumpets and drum roll, please!

WiFi is a human right!

Yep!  He said that!  And aren't we glad that after languishing over 200 years with a deficient Bill of Rights, we can finally correct the gross oversight of James Madison, George Mason and other Founding Fathers!  Heavens!  What were George Washington, Edmund Randolph and the others thinking when they overlooked the right to WiFi as the Bill of Rights was crafted?

We know, of course, that O'Malley is contemptuous of other real rights, such as the unborn child's right to life.  Progressives like him dream up other bogus "rights" (such as the right to denigrate true marriage) so they can appear to be champions of the people while trying to arrogate to themselves tyrannical power over us all.  Will we let them?

Maryland Bishops And Catholic Conference Join The Chorus Of Illegal Immigrant Panderers

Here's the garbage action alert that I received from the Maryland Catholic Conference a few days ago.

 Take Action
Instead of going to school, playing with friends, and enjoying time with family, tens of thousands of children from Central America flee their homes embarking on a dangerous trek north to the United States.  At the same time, nearly 40,000 young mothers with children have also entered the U.S. and are being placed in detention centers.
Many unaccompanied youth suffer a lack of educational and economic opportunities, and ultimately flee due to violence from organized criminal networks in their countries, which has increasingly stained and strained the fabric of their societies.  The breakdown of the family unit, caused by the absence of physical and economic security, has also caused children to find safe haven with family members in the United States.

Please raise your voice with this action alert to help protect these vulnerable children and mothers by contacting your U.S. senators and representative. For some background on the issue, read the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishop's  testimony before Congress.

My blogging colleague A Washington DC Catholic must be on the same list.  Read the commentary on his piece.  These progressives do like to omit that teensy detail about the flagrant violation of our borders.

Naturally this week's Catholic Standard joined in the propaganda campaign.  It featured an article about the opening Mass (celebrated by Cardinal Wuerl) for the (so-called) National Migration Conference.  He made it a point to mention that most of us are descended from immigrants; what he decided to omit was that our immigrant ancestors obeyed the laws of their host country, complying with all requirement for immigrants at the time.  That is a far cry from what is happening now, and to try to draw some parallel between then and now is ridiculous, if not downright dishonest.

As expected, progressive CINO MD governor Martin O'Malley opined that any deportation of the kids would send them to "certain death"  (like the 90+ that are aborted every day in Maryland, Marty??).  However, several hours later, he told the Obama cartel that it should not send any of these kids to a former Army Reserve Center in Westminster MD.  The citizens in that conservative area of Maryland rallied and (with the assistance of Andy Harris) made plain to the governor that this would not be in the best interests of the citizens and their families.  For once, O'Malley saw the light of day.

That refusal of O'Malley's (a rumored presidential hopeful) must not only have been galling to the Obamanistas, but must have been most embarrassing to the left-wing-leaning Maryland bishops and the Maryland Catholic Conference.  Oh, to have been a fly on the wall at the MCC when they heard that news!  And to think that this kind of common sense was displayed in the liberal loony-bin known as Maryland!  Will miracles ever cease?

By the way - not all of these "kids" are kids.  Many of them are gang members and other adults posing as children.  Do our bishops care, or have all those HHS and DHS grants caused them to turn blind eyes to that fact?

Maryland Catholic Conference Errs (Again) With Death Penalty

In today's Catholic Standard, page 3 in print and online here, the Maryland Catholic Conference is beating its chest over its faux-victoire regarding the abolition of the death penalty in Maryland.  I stated my case clearly how the abolition of the death penalty actually runs counter to Church teaching and Evangelium Vitae in particular.  I needn't rehash all that here.

I also stated in that post that there is an effort underway to petition this abolition to the next Maryland referendum.  I signed that petition, no doubt to the consternation of Mary Ellen Russell.  In the Standard article, read that little insert of hers that's designed to cajole faithful Catholics into eschewing the referendum petition.  She talks of the repeal of the death penalty as "an integral part of our pro-life efforts to uphold the sanctity of all human life."  No, it is not!  I'd strongly suggest that she study Evangelium Vitae and notice that there is a world of difference between the inherent evil of taking the most innocent human life - that is, murder and the exercise of legitimate authority a charge laid upon it by God Himself.

She then takes a direct pot-shot at the referendum effort itself, saying "the referendum will only divide the prolife community and drain scarce time and resources from other more important prolife goals".  Well, guess what, Ms Russell?  On both counts here, it's the Maryland Catholic Conference (under your less-than-stellar leadership) that stands guilty as charged!

NCR Article Likens Martin O'Malley To Jesus Christ

Please do not have any food or drink in your mouth as you read this NCR dribble, for you may wind up spitting it all over your monitor and keyboard as you laugh out loud.

Tom Gallagher of course celebrates the abolition of the death penalty in Maryland.  However, he takes the Maryland Catholic Conference to task for "not mustering up a simple thank you to the leadership of O'Malley.."  He then draws a parallel of this imagined slight of O'Malley to the ingratitude of the nine lepers healed by Jesus.  I'm not kidding!  He just compared aborto-phile and homo-phile Martin O'Malley to Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

One must wonder why Gallagher sees fit to engage in such unabashed boot-licking for O'Malley.  Yes the latter is posturing for the White House.  Is the former posturing for some cushy administrative position?  If not, why the mindless pandering?

By the way - "NCR" means "Not-At-All Catholic Reporter".

O'Malley Energy And Environment Policies Comprised Of Chicken Shit

That is not a metaphor!  I mean that literally!  And no, this is not a joke!  Really!  Can any sane person make  up this crap?  But the State House is not inhabited by sane people (hasn't been for some time now).

Governor O'Malley has embarked on a project to fuel some State of Maryland facilities, including the Department of Corrections.  The plan is to buy chicken manure (and other animal waste products) and burn them for conversion to electricity.  You can read the official blog for more details on that.

Many environmental groups look askance upon this hare-brained scheme, and rightly so.  They are concerned that O'Malley, in seeking to correct a run-off problem, may well be creating an even larger air pollution problem.

But enough with the poo-poo.  O'Malley's schemes for combatting "run-off" pollution feature a (wait for it!)

RAIN TAX!

"What is that??" you ask with bated breath?  Why, it's a tax that we property owners will have to pay for the rain that falls on our properties.  You see, certain areas of our properties will be impervious to rain - such as pavement, roofs (we hope they're impervious to rain), etc and cause that nasty run-off into the bay so they must be taxed.  The Maryland Catholic Conference has asked Catholics to oppose this tax, but only because it impacts churches and other non-profits - never mind the detriment that we property owners will suffer.  My colleague at A Washington DC Catholic has an excellent write-up to which I now link for your benefit.  Just as the HHS mandate came back to bite the church bureaucracy after they foolishly shilled for nationalized health care, so has this "rain tax" come back to, well, rain on their parade.  We'll oppose it, but for everyone and not just for the church progressives.  In my younger years I would hope this would teach them a lesson, but now I believe they're just too obtuse to learn anything.

Maryland "Gay Marriage" To Go To Ballot

This past March I posted that we would need at least 57,000 signatures to put on the November ballot the "gay marriage" bill signed into law by Governor O'Malley.  Actually, the exact number was 55,736.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of many volunteers and the leadership of the Maryland Marriage Alliance, the total number of signatures submitted was 122,481.  The Maryland Board of Elections has 20 days to review the signatures.  No one seriously doubts that there is more than a sufficient number to ensure that this measure is put on the ballot so that all Marylanders can vote on it.

This electoral contest will draw nationwide attention.  Both sides will pour in much money.  Of course, the marriage-wrecking contingent will have "lame-brain" media shilling for it.  That means, of course, that our work is far from over.  But we've made progress.

Guess Who Was At The New Ways Conference In Baltimore Yesterday?

"New Ways Ministry" is an organization of dissident Catholics based in Mt Rainer, MD (Prince George's County).  They had a conference in Baltimore yesterday.  Scheduled to appear (according to the Baltimore Sun were:

  • Governor Martin O'Malley, who signed the "gay marriage" legislation in Maryland, which we will be bringing to the ballot
  • Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, former Lt Governor of MD.  She wrote a book called "Failing America's Faithful: How Today's Churches Are Mixing God with Politics and Losing Their Way".  I'll speak more on this book later.
  • Last but not least (drum roll, please) - Barbara Johnson!  Gee-willikers!  I assume she's removed the Buddhist hat and put on the Catholic facade - not that it would make much difference with that crowd.
All of these people (not just the three cited above) are in deep need of prayer - and the medicinal remedies of Canon 915.  They are risking their eternal salvations by fostering mortal sin.

Marylanders! Immediate Action Required To Protect Marriage

Some Republicans in the House who previously promised to protect marriage between a man and a woman show distressing signs of wavering in their convictions.  Governor O'Malley is bringing much pressure to bear on these folks, as any vote (which may happen tomorrow) will be close.

Please urge the following to remain firm in their conviction (and campaign promises) and vote to oppose HB438, the Civil Marriage Protection Act.

Those who need to hear from you are:

Wade Kach of District 5B (Baltimore County) email a.wade.kach@house.state.md.us , phone 1-800-492-7122 x 3359 or 410-841-3359.  He has admitted to changing his vote.  Urge him to be true to principles and change it back.

Pat Hogan, district 3A (Frederick County) email patrick.hogan@house.state.md.us  phone 410-841-3240.  He has stated that he has heard from no one from the true Christian perspective.  We must change that.

Bob Costa, district 33B (Anne Arundel County) email bob.costa@house.state.md.us, phone 410-841-3551

Marvin Holmes, district 23B (Prince George's County) email marvin.holmes@house.state.md.us, phone 410-841-3310

Pamela Beidle, district 32 (Anne Arundel County) email pamela.beidle@house.state.md.us , phone 410-841-3370

And call your own reps as well.

O'Malley Supports Draconian HHS Mandates

This he stated quite clearly on Candy Crowley's "State of the Union".  I won't rehash the entire thing here, as the transcript has it all (that part is in the latter half).  I'm sure, though, that any bishops reading this will appreciate being advised that the majority are "hyperventilating..Republicans".  Well, at least that's what our less-than-illustrious governor says!

Last week his wife Catherine called defenders of traditional marriage "cowards" (you may recall the reference in the video on Saturday's post).   Then the guv himself lets loose with this stinker.  The O'Malleys seem to be suffering from "foot in mouth disease" - or perhaps just plain arrogance.  They'll be gone from the State House in 2014.

14-Year-Old Marylander Lobbies For Marriage Protection

She identifies herself only as "Sarah".  Thanks to Pewsitter, I found the video on Huffington Post - a veritable bastion of propaganda progressive (click here if you can't see embedded video).  As one might imagine for such a site, the comments are petty and adolescent.  For example, here's one that was posted at 8:57 this evening: "I don't want to be affected by you, kid. You missed your opportunity--you could have been born before 1950s and added interracial marriage to your list of 'wrong things'.  I vote NO on you: please burn up and blow away--that is MY birthday wish. The world could use one less bigot."

Can't you just feel the luuvvv!  The tollleranssse!  All those goood viibesss!  Yep!  Reading through those comments will make plain the malevolence that inhabits the brains of these so-called "tolerant" progressives.  No wonder the kid didn't give her full name!   (If any of you are reading this, just carry on!  You are making our argument for us!)

"Sarah" is a lot smarter than these commenters - and smarter than the current occupant of the State House.

Maryland Gov O'Malley And Allies Begin Same-Sex Marriage Onslaught

A few days ago, Gov O'Malley introduced Senate Bill 241 "Civil Marriage Protection Act", designed to legalize so-called "gay marriage" in Maryland.  Hearings will begin in the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee this Tuesday, January 31st.

The Maryland Marriage Alliance is sponsoring a rally to be held Monday evening, Jan 30, from 6-8pm in Annapolis.  More details are on their flyer, which can be printed and circulated.  Please come.

Last year we helped stave off this marriage mutation attempt by our many phone calls, faxes and emails.  It's time to mobilize ourselves and friends to action once again.  Please contact the members of the Judicial Proceedings Committee and ask them to kill this terrible bill.  Here is a list of the committee members and it links to the pages of the members for their contact information.  Please - let's start on this immediately and encourage everyone you know to spread the word and do the same.

An important note - Governor O'Malley appears to be a main driving force behind this marriage deformation attempt.  He calls himself "Catholic".  Let us point out to our bishops that he is a prime example of why they should be obeying Canon 915.

Addendum:  Here's another good source for info on this issue and other Maryland matters - Maryland Patriots.  Here's their page on the marriage matter.  Check this page from time to time.

Catholics And Politics

"Catholycs" for Equality are chortling about their belief that a "majority of Catholics in Maryland stand by Governor O'Malley".  They opine in the context of O'Malley's intention to push for "gay marriage" in Maryland.  I'm not going to banter as to whether or not a "majority" of MD Catholics have swallowed the politically-correct koolaid of "gay marriage".  When one speaks of "Catholics", one can mean those who were baptized Catholic as children and that's it, those who attend Mass only on Easter and Christmas, and even those who call themselves "recovered Catholics".  It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that the aforegoing sub-groupings of Catholics probably would support "gay marriage" (assuming that they care one way or the other about the matter).  However, morality is never defined by consensus, but only by God's laws.

The article goes on to criticize Archbishop O'Brien for a "bad use of his time" in defending traditional marriage.  That's interesting.  If these people don't recognize a bad definition of marriage, who are they to determine whether or not the Archbishop is using his time badly?  As for the archbishop being "out of line", I suggest it is the gay activists who are "out of line" for their attempt to mangle the meaning of true marriage to suit their warped purposes.

While I certainly congratulate Archbishop O'Brien for speaking out, I do suggest that this article may indicate the results of years of neglect in teaching authentic morality and placing that before other matters, such as so-called "social justice" which is nothing more than wimpy attempts to placate progressives.  Archbishop O'Brien and Cardinal Wuerl MUST start obeying Canon 915 and deny Holy Communion to Governor O'Malley, Barbara Mikulski and all the other politicians who dare to call themselves Catholic while using their high positions to tear down authentic morality.

Governor O'Malley Set To Advocate Gay Marriage In Maryland

Taking a cue from fellow CINO Governor Cuomo in New York, Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley made plain his intentions to escalate his push for so-called gay "marriage" in Maryland.  He reportedly will have "other announcements in upcoming months".

Now I understand that Archbishop O'Brien of Baltimore has warned O'Malley that the Church will oppose his efforts.  Good for him.  The archbishop, in regard for the public sin about to be foisted upon Maryland citizenry and for O'Malley's soul (the archbishop is O'Malley's bishop), is obliged to obey Canon 915 in regard to O'Malley and not allow him to be admitted to Holy Communion until he publically repent and rescind all support of gay marriage and legalized abortion.  The same would go for any other Catholic in the Maryland legislature who would dare to support it (Mike Miller comes immediately to mind).

DREAM Act?  Forget about it, Your Excellency!  Don't try to be palsy-walsy with O'Malley on this one, as such action would only undermine your credibility in fighting "gay marriage" in Maryland.

Maryland To Vote On Same-Sex Marriage This Week

I posted an alert on Feb 2 regarding the attack on marriage and family life in Maryland, vis-a-vis bills SB 116 and HB 55.  Go back to that link and study it closely.

Hearings were held on these measures last week.  It could well go to a vote this week.  If it passes, Governor O'Malley indicated that he would sign it.

Let your state senator and your representatives know that you won't stand for the undermining of family life in Maryland.  On the Feb 2 page is a link that will guide you to the emails of your representatives.  Do so now!

The Messiah Comes To Bowie!

Yesterday, at Bowie State University, the Messiah Most Miserable descended upon Bowie State University to rally for the reelection of Martin O'Malley as governor of Maryland.  I had heard on the radio that quite a few people passed out during his address and had to be taken away.  Some opined that the heat caused it.  Folks, I live here, and it was not hot here yesterday.

This Baltimore Sun article gives a clue as to why these people fell ill.  Apparently the gates opened and people started arriving about five hours before Obama.  They could not bring any food or drink inside.  I find that curious.  A cynical wag might opine that the messianic cartel was banking on a repeat of the fainting stunts that accompanied Obama on the 2008 campaign trail.  At the very least, it was reckless of the university and/or security personnel not to allow people to bring food with them - so much for caring for the little guy.

Now let's talk about their tolerance here.  At this rally, Thomas "Mike" Miller, Maryland Senate President, had this to say, and I quote, "We're not going to stand for the Tea Party people here in Maryland."  Oh, really?  Dear Senator Miller, just what, pray tell, do you intend to do about us?  We're here to stay, we won't be silenced, and you had better get used to it!  Moving along in the article, we see US Senator Ben Cardin use a bogus charge against Christine O'Donnell to take a swipe at her, saying, "we don't need any witchcraft."  Can you just imagine him saying that about anyone who holds other creeds?  Why doesn't he now just say, "we don't need any jihad"?  Do you think that will happen?  Neither do I!

Let's get out there on November 2nd.  Remember, not only is O'Malley up, but the whole Maryland cabal is too - including Miller, who "will not stand for the tea party people".

Maryland's Gubernatorial Race

Note - The following is my opinion only.  I'm not some guru, just a citizen exercising First Amendment Rights.

The last two posts (and other posts more in the past) make plain my belief that in Maryland's general election, there is no solid pro-life candidate running for that office.  The Republicans had such a primary candidate, Brian Murphy, but he lost to Bob Ehrlich.  The GOP establishment was stacked in Ehrlich's favor, giving him an unfair advantage, but that is its own rant.  I'd have to say that right now we have a flaming pro-abort and two iffy candidates running for governor.

Who's the "flaming pro-abort"?  Do we really need to ask that question?  Martin O'Malley is endorsed by Maryland NARAL.  What more needs be to be said?  He's been a disaster for Maryland, just given the taxes.  There are no positive points to his candidacy.  The other two are superior to O'Malley without a doubt.  But of these two, is one better than the other?

Regarding Eric Knowles, I've already detailed why I believe his pro-life plank is flawed.  He seems to be more libertarian than conservative.  Libertarians seem to have a rather stunted appreciation of the legitimate role of government and the rule of law.  There is a reluctance to acknowledge the responsibility of government to protect the helpless from unjust aggression.  That's not what it means to be appreciative of true liberty; it's more of dodging proper responsibilities.  That being said, he does seem to favor restricting abortion in Maryland.

Bob Ehrlich is the second of the two tepid alternatives.  I've heard several arguments in favor of his candidacy; none have to do with any sterling qualities of Ehrlich himself.  One such argument is that he won't work against pro-life legislation as would O'Malley.  That's probably true enough.  Still, isn't it a sad commentary on the citizens of Maryland when the best candidate they have is one who won't sabatogue pro-life efforts?  Another is that "we need a Republican governor to help redraw the districting maps".  I will say this.  When the Dems did their map redraw a few years ago, they made a royal mess of it - no logic at all.  Take a look at Federal District 4; it is like a long snake, with the bottom end in Charles County and the top end in upper Montgomery County, MD.  Does this make sense?  Now for the objections against Ehrlich.  I've already reported what he did to Bob Smith in 2004, when Ehrlich fired Smith because Smith voiced his Catholic beliefs privately.  Ladies and gentlemen, this isn't "water under the bridge".  What Ehrlich did to Smith he actually did to each and every one of us who dares to bring our faith and morality into the public square - which is our right and responsibility.  Ehrlich has never apologized for his moral malfeasance.  To me, that's a clear indication that he'd be inclined to do so again, should another occasion arise.

To sum up, O'Malley is most definitely unacceptable.  Between Ehrlich and Knowles, it's a toss-up.  Again, that's just my opinion - take it or leave it.

Naughtiness in Annapolis!

Two days ago, I blogged about the abortion funding-by-subterfuge that the Messiah Most Miserable was trying to accomplish in Pennsylvania.  Now there's much back-peddling going on.

Well, it now seems that Maryland was caught with its hand in the proverbial cookie jar - this from Jill Staneck's blog

Again, fellow Marylanders - this whole sticking cabal is up for re-election in a few months.  Be on the lookout for my recommendations.  (Reminder - since Faithful Catholics in MD/DC is not a tax-exempt charity, we are not muzzled by those onorous IRS regs).
