Two Examples Of The Superiority Of The Traditional Latin Mass

Today in the Traditional Latin Mass calendar, we celebrated the Feast of Christ the King.  In his sermon today, the priest stated that Our Lord is King of all creation, and that all people and nations have the duty to acknowledge Him as such.  Furthermore, Father stated that the world will never know peace until Christ is acknowledged as King.  This was first stated by Pope Pius XI when he established the Feast of Christ the King.

Father made the point of denouncing not only the errors of the pachamama debacle and the travesty of giving to the leader of a heretical sect a chair in the Vatican Basilica, along with allowing Muslims to worship their demon-idol in the Vatican library.  He also reminded us that similar travesties had been committed by John Paul II when he held a "prayer service" with heretics and pagans within the Fatima shrine and at Assisi.  Father didn't mention it, but what also came to my mind is when John Paul II degraded his papacy by kissing a koran.

On a happier note, Cardinal Burke celebrated a Traditional Latin Mass in St. Peter's Basilica yesterday.  During that Mass, Cardinal Troshani recited the Prayer to St Michael.  It was the long form, reserved to priests for the purposes of exorcism.  Given all the demonic things that have happened there in the past several years, an exorcism was sorely needed.  The video appears below.

  1. In view of the Dicastery of Divine Worship ordering the ban on the TLM in Knoxville, I can only see this Pontifical Mass as the funeral. Pope Leo has made it crystal clear that he was in complete agreement with Francis and his crushing of tradition. Smiling and wearing traditional vestments and speaking in less angry tones can't hide the truth. I fear we will see the excommunication of the SSPX when they ordain new bishops. And then we will see whether they extend the excommunication to those who attend or only tell us it is mortally sinful to go. We are thinking and praying about these things in preparation for what appears to be the next step.Catherine Emmerich appeared to see these times when she wrote about her vision of the false church. There are a number of videos but this one seems to speak directly of the innovations we are experiencing .https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uEZeOis_roI

  2. The latin Mass is no better than the normal Mass. If fact it creates parrots. Most people don't understand what is being said they just repeat words like a parrot. you could put mary had a little lamb in latin in the missal and the people would say it since the don't know latin. Most just pray the rosary while the priest mumbles to himself in latin who also doesnot know what the words actually mean. He is just reading a text. Prayer is praying with the heart and mind .if you don't understand the words you are not praying with your mind. Ask any one who first language isn't english and they would say when they rerally pray they do it in there own native language. The Council did away with latin because of this . Even Biship Sheen wanted change to the venacular. Because of this arrogance of the Trads is why it was reemoved, Thinking you have the 'purest' form of worship. Ask the Greeks they will say the same. The Roman empires use of latin and the romance languages of europe kept it until the modern era. The rest of the world don't speak romance languages and so it is not longer useful or helpful. The last 500 years since the end of the Roman empire the faithful were for the most part parroting and usually the priest too. Both were very uneducated throughout most of church history and got liitle of out it.

    1. The priest "mumbles to himself" and "doesn't understand"? Friend, you are the one who does not understand. The priest is praying to Our Lord. As for understanding, you do realize that priests undergo seminary training before they are ordained, right? One key reason why Latin is preferred is precisely because it is a dead language. The meaning of the words can't change. Are you a practicing Catholic? Have you ever attended a Traditional Latin Mass? Somehow I think the answer to at least one of these questions is "no". I am open to being corrected on that guess.

    2. The Mass is not the same! The Offertory was gutted. Instead of the prayers that made it clear the Church was offering the sacrifice of Christ in atonement for the sins of mankind, the committee took meal prayers from the Jewish rites. In effect, the Mass now is more a meal with the "presider" as the host facing his guest and not primarily an offering to God. Instead of an altar of sacrifice we have a meal table for the party. God is no longer the focus of the Mass, the Creator who has a right to our worship and sacrifice; the community gets together to celebrate their togetherness. That's okay in the social hall after Mass, but not at the Mass itself. And what an arrogant statement toward our ancestors. The TLM was the source of growing holiness for thousands of Catholic saints who knew WHOM they were worshiping at Mass. Many Catholics today worship their own ideas which is why we have pro-abortionists calling themselves "devout Catholics."

  3. Jesus is Present , body blood soul and divinity at the normal Mass and always has. Your elitistism prevents you from seeing this truth. I contend the people and the priest read a text out of a book and have no idea what they are saying. I have attended Mass all my life and get much out of it. i have attended a latin mass and it was the most awlful experience of Mass. No knows what they are saying neither does the priest. No one even knows what part of the mass they are at thus people just pray a rosary and look around. as I said you could put Mary has a l ittle lamb int Latin in the book and everybody would say it because they have not idea what the words mean that they are saying. Extreme clericalism is why people attend. We too are the royal priests and share in the the kingship and prophetic roll of Christ as the catechism says.

    1. The way He is worshipped at the Novus Ordo Mass can and often does obscure the reality of who Our Lord is. How often do you hear of Mass being what it is, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass? We are there to be present at that Sacrifice. What we "get out of the Mass" has absolutely nothing to do with anything. Mass is about Our Lord, not us.

    2. To condemn people who attend the TLM as guilty of "elitism" is a rash judgment. I don't condemn anyone attending the Novus Ordo even though there are many, like you, who condemn those of us who attend the TLM and presume we think we are better than others. What we believe is that God deserves worship worthy of His greatness. Guitar Masses and gay Masses like the one recently celebrated in Germany and at the Vatican don't happen with the TLM. Read Leviticus and see how God called the Israelites to worship Him. Does He require less of us today when He is really present at the sacrifice? It took me awhile to get back into appreciation of the Latin after so many years away from it. Everything about that Mass glorifies God. Do you have to understand Italian to appreciate Verdi's Aida and La Traviata?
