Don't Tell Your Parents!

When a decent and sensible person hears that command being given to a child, they know it's an indicator that wrong is about to be perpetrated.  We might at first think only a vandal might say it.  Recently in the Catholic Church we've heard of that dire warning being given by pervert priests to their young rape victims.  but now it comes from another source - our public school teachers!

Such was the experience of parents of sixth-grade students at Milam Elementary School in Tupelo MS.  The students were instructed to fill out a very invasive questionnaire with the caveat "don't tell your parents".  Fortunately some of them did and they even spirited the questionnaire out of the classroom and alerted their parents.  These parents are understandably up in arms over it.  The kids were asked to divulge:

• Their parents' political views
• Their parents' views on issues such as the Second Amendment, gay marriage, abortion
• Their own political views (Ten year olds have political views?)

Questions to be asked:

• Why the admonition not to advise the parents of this questionnaire?
• What would be done with information collected?
• Are further questionnaires being deliberated?
• Why aren't the teachers teaching reading, grammar, math, science, etc?

In the comments section is contact information for the school district.  I agree. They need to be contacted.  Other comments suggest that parents pull their kids out and homeschool.  That would be helpful for two reasons.

1. The most obvious is that parents can protect their children from progressive brain-washing and actually teach them the reading, math, etc.
2. School districts get federal funding based on their headcounts.  Reduce that and their money will be reduced.  That might wake them up.

Sshhh! Illegal Dinner Parties Afoot!!!

I hope and pray that this is a joke.  Given Michael Bloomberg's control-freak nature, this is in the foreseeable future even if it's a joke now!  Imagine!  The scandal of it all!  People eating and socializing in each others' homes without the Nanny State to supervise what free citizens may put into their mouths!  Why, there might be trans-fats!  Or salt!  Or even (heaven forbid!) a 16-ounce soda!

Food Police-Nazis Strike In North Carolina Public School

Last April I wrote a piece about how the Obamanista dictators arrogated to themselves authority to ban lunches in Chicago schools - including those packed by parents - for not meeting arbitrary standards of "healthiness".  Towards the end I wrote what I thought was a hypothetical farce, and voiced my hope that it was indeed only a farce.  To my regret, I learned earlier this week that my so-called farce materialized into reality in North Carolina.

In an elementary school in Raeford, NC, a four-year-old preschooler had her lunch confiscated because it didn't contain the arbitrarily-required vegetable.  So what did the poor child eat?  They gave her (sit down for this!) chicken nuggets!  You know, those deep-fat-fried blobs of chicken meat?  Whatever else they are, they certainly aren't vegetables.  That is beside the point, but this substitution illustrates either the complete brainlessness of Mrs Messiah's "Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Acts"and signed into law by Mr. Messiah, OR it demonstrates that the control-freaks in the White House are more desirous of glomming power unto itself and to heck with the kids!  I tend to think it's more the latter than the former (although we cannot discount altogether bureaucratic stupidity).

This bullying of a four-year-old and the draconian HHS mandates are just two of the latest manifestations of the progressive cabal arrogating power unto itself and trampling our God-given rights and the Consitution in the process.  They are getting to be more brazen about it.

Gestapo Motors

It happens every once in a while, and this is one of those rare occasions.  Chuck Shumer and I agree about something!

Now that you've all recovered from your fainting spells, let me tell you why.  This article by Bob Barr, former US Congressman from Georgia, lays it on the line about Onstar, the supposedly benign vehicle locater found in General Motors vehicles.  You see, it not only finds you and/or your vehicle in times of emergencies, but it watches your vehicular habits - constantly!  Even if you "cancel" the service!  Your very own on-board snoop and snitch!   It keeps track of where you go, what routes you take, whether or not you wear your seat belts, how fast you drive, etc.  Shumer rightly calls this "shameless" and says it should be stopped.  He's right.

Not only could this information be made available to overly-inquisitive law enforcement types, but also to the even-more-overly-inquisitive marketing types!  Can we all say "ka-ching!"?  No wonder the Feds bailed out this bunch - they've got the perfect setting for intelligence work.  Of course that assumes we buy their products.  I believe my future automobile purchase considerations will no longer include any GM product.
