Baltimore's Mercy High School In Serious Need Of Repentance And Mercy

Let's look at Mercy High School in Baltimore.   Because they hosted what appears to be a gay gab-fest on Saturday Feb 25, one might surmise that Mercy as an institution might itself be gay-pandering.  As I look about the internet, I think they might be correct.

Let's look on Mercy's web page, specifically the subpage entitled "Clubs and Organizations".  Way at the very bottom, we see something called "VALID", a club that poses a deadly peril to the souls of confused young girls.  Read it for yourself.  Nowhere is there mention of overcoming same-sex attraction or taking recourse to the Church sacraments to keep from falling into homosexual relationships.  Instead, its aim is to "support" them by "connecting them with allies and other students like themselves".  Is this a thinly-disguised gay-dating service?

The moderator appears to be a woman named Hogg.  I don't see her as a current faculty or staff member, but a quick google shows her history with Mercy.  A Catholic Review article from two years ago states that she was a theology teacher there.  Her facebook page shows her clear alliance with the gay agenda.  Observe for yourselves.

Two years ago, Becky Egan Hogg was teaching theology at Mercy.  One wonders what kind of "theology" was being taught, but I digress.

Now we have a glimpse into her Facebook page

Now let's take a look at the Sisters of Mercy, the order of sisters running that school.  I was none too surprised to see on their website a page dedicated to "bisexual, transgender and intersex resources".   Isn't that just typical?   One book touted there is entitled "The Bible and the Transgender Experience: How Scripture Supports Gender Variance".   One gets to read how "helpful new interpretations can be for creating inclusive communities".  In other words, the reader learns how he/she can twist and distort God's word to justify any sin that they want.  The rest of the reading list is similarly oriented.

There's another gay-pandering page called "links to helpful resources".  Naturally it had all manners of websites devoted to the promotion of vile perversions: New Ways Ministry, Dignity, Human Rights Campaign, Fortunate Families (a favorite of Cardinal Gregory's!)  Anything with that rainbow-heart logo will lead you to all manners of satanic propaganda designed to normalize and even lionize the most base perversions.

The rest of the pabulum there is just a litany of the usual "social-justice-warrior" tripe: earth day, racism, border-crashing enabling,   If you want to get a glimpse into new-age pantheism, this page won't disappoint.  It may bore you to tears, but it will open your eyes to what is being force-fed to young Catholic girls.  Now here is a piece of irony in that clip.  They quote St. Thomas Aquinas as he said "a sin against nature is a sin against God".  Well, given their advocacy of sexual perversions, they themselves are sinning against nature big time, and most definitely sin against God.

I don't have time to pick this whole website apart.  I leave that to my readers, particularly those who have relatives involved in Mercy High School, to do some "due diligence" research on your own.  By the way, as you do so, please advise if you see them denouncing abortion.  I couldn't find any such mention.

I regret that there are many schools like it.  Our Lord spoke of those who scandalize others, that it would be better if a millstone were tied around their neck to drown them.  Now we know how they could have allowed that "social ministry convocation" to be held on their premises.  I hope to have more on that debacle in the next few days.

Perversion-Enabling Workshop At Baltimore Catholic Meeting - Cancelled, But Problems Still Abounded

In response to my communication to Erin Younkins last week regarding the scandalous workshop that was to have been part and parcel of the Archdiocese of Baltimore Social Ministry Convocation, I received the following email late Friday afternoon from the Archdiocese

Hi  – I know you expressed concerns about the Social Ministry Convocation and I wanted to touch base to let you know that workshop on transgender sharing stories has been cancelled and removed from the schedule.

Thank you,

Christian Kendzierski
Executive Director of Communications
Archdiocese of Baltimore
320 Cathedral Street
Baltimore, MD 21201
Office:    410-547-5378 www.archbalt.org

(end of email)

Accordingly, it was determined that the reason for our presence on the sidewalk in front of Mercy High School no longer existed, so we opted not to be there.  I have it on good authority that the workshop was indeed cancelled.  However, I also know that this gab fest was still quite gay-infested.  I will have more to say on this as I receive the wretched details.

I've no doubt that many faithful Baltimore-area Catholics registered their concerns with the Archdiocese of Baltimore.  This episode proves once again that when faithful Catholics discharge their responsibilities and hold Church leaders to fidelity to Church teaching, that constructive results can and will happen.

While we can rejoice that the Archdiocese of Baltimore canceled the workshop, we soberly acknowledge that had we not exposed this and called them out on it, that the workshop would have been conducted.  This is why we must always remain vigilant.  We, each and every one of us, and that means YOU, have a solemn duty to call out unrighteousness when we see it.  Yes, we must pray and offer sacrifices, but not even these will be sufficient if we content ourselves to do so only within the relatively safe confines of our churches and homes.  While engaging in those spiritual exercises, we need to speak and act publicly.  Often enough, we will see the benefits.

Archdiocese Of Baltimore's Not-So-Prolife Office

Here we have the webpage of the Archdiocese of Baltimore's Respect Life Office.  You will notice at the bottom of the page that Erin Younkins is the Director of Life, Justice and Peace.

Now take a look at the site belonging to the Archdiocese of Baltimore Social Ministry Convocation - the outfit putting on that progressive gab fest this coming weekend.  Take a look at their 2023 Planning Committee.  Notice that Erin Younkins is a member of that committee.  I highly doubt that the transgender-coddling workshop would be allowed to happen without Younkins' permission, if not her approval.  Younkins' involvement of this was pointed out to me by an alert Catholic.

As pointed out in one of my previous posts, the allowance of that workshop is a prime example of the Catholic Church of Baltimore cooperating in the mortal sin of sexual perversion.  No one truly pro-life can countenance any insult to the Church teaching and tradition regarding marriage, sexuality, life.  If ever there was a "seamless garment" in Catholic moral theology, it can be found in Humanae Vitae, Casti Commubi and other documents.  Unless Younkins is completely bereft of common sense, she has to be aware of that.

I therefore emailed her the following message two days ago:

Ms. Younkins, I write to you in your capacity as the Director of the Office of Life, Justice and Peace for the Archdiocese of Baltimore.

No doubt you are aware of the gathering that will occur this coming Saturday at Mercy High School of the Archdiocese of Baltimore Social Ministry Convocation.  You are listed on the 2023 Planning Committee.  I and others have scoured that website and find not one mention of abortion, an evil that the USCCB described as the greatest social evil.  We find all sorts of other issues mentioned, all of which any radical proponent of baby-slaughter could use to claim alliance and compliance with the Church.

Most troubling is workshop #12, obviously designed to garner support for gender-confused individuals as they engage in objectively mortal sins of sexual perversions.  That the Archdiocese of Baltimore is lending its name to that constitutes a serious sin of scandal. You in particular bear responsibility if you do not publicly and vehemently denounce that workshop.  The individuals slated to speak at that workshop need to be guided to repentance and healing, not applauded as they literally careen towards misery in this life and likely damnation in the next.

Please be advised that this communication and any responses (or lack thereof) will be publicized.

As you might have suspected, I have received no reply at the time I am writing this blog piece.  Her email address is Erin.Younkins@archbalt.org.  The phone number on that web page is 410-547-5537.  Why not you, dear readers, drop her a line or two and let her know of your displeasure?

Maryland Residents! Action Needed Now Against Proposed Constitutional Amendment Promoting Abortion

The heavily Democrat, and thus pro-abortion MD state legislature is at it again, this time with pro-abortion Wes Moore as Governor.  The so-called "Declaration of Rights - Right to Reproductive Freedom" is beginning its march through the legislative process.  It is filed as both HB 705 and SB 798.

Maryland residents, your delegates and senators need to hear from you.  Please go to https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/ to follow the progress of this thing and to contact your representatives.  If you don't have a login, you will be prompted to establish one.  Put one of those two bills in the search box.

Doing so for HB 705 will show that it has been referred to the "Health and Government Operations Committee".  Here we see the membership of that committee.  Their names are hyperlinks that take you to their email addresses.

Doing the same for SB 798, we see that this one is referred to the "Finance Committee".  Here is that committee's membership.

Please email each committee member your opposition to this amendment that would enshrine murder into our state constitution.  The email should be brief and to the point.  Make sure to include your legal street address in MD.  Do the same for your own elected representatives.  The sooner the better.

This coming Tuesday, February 21st at 12:30 PM, there will be a press conference at the House of Delegates Building - 6 Bladen Street, Annapolis.  The gathering will be at the Rowe Boulevard entrance.  Please be there with pro-life signs.

Please save that website url and your login information for any future actions.  It will most likely be needed.

Two Acts Of Blasphemy In Baltimore

PROFANITY ALERT

This morning, as I walked into Mass, a note was in the vestibule for general distribution.  It is quite self-explanatory, as you can see.  Father took the necessary remedial steps.  He notified all appropriate authorities and took care, via blessings, to repel any spiritual malevolence that were most likely attached to this act.

As I read the note, I could not help but consider that this vandalism happened immediately after news broke of the FBI and their targeting of Traditional Catholics.  The Fraternity of St Peter offers the Traditional Latin Mass, and the other Sacraments in the Tridentine rite.  I simply am not stupid enough to believe that it's just a coincidence that these two acts of persecution occurred so closely to each other.

I can understand why the good priests would not have wanted to cause scandal to young children by repeating the contents of the graffiti. Moreover, it would have been most unbecoming to utter the profanities before Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.

However, the world at large simply needs to understand the extent of hatred there is for the One True Church.  After Mass, I went around back and captured just what was on the back wall.  I regret the crude profanities, but they are what they are, and we must face it.

Now let me post something that relates to yesterday's post.  It too is blasphemy.

This is workshop number 12 from the Archdiocese of Baltimore gabfest.  Note that there are nine ways in which we can cooperate with the sin of others and thus be culpable of sin ourselves.  In that "workshop" description, we see that attendees will be cajoled into praising and giving consent to sexual perversions.  They will be defending the sin and might even provoke others to the same actions.  In that this is being promoted on an archdiocesan website, ostensibly in the name of the Church and thus God, we have blasphemy.  God can never condone such sin, and these Church representatives blaspheme when they pretend that He will.

I contend that this blasphemy is worse than the graffiti on the wall.  Those who chalked that graffiti did not hold themselves to be Christian.  They seem to be supremely uncatechized and ignorant of the Faith.  Those of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, though, have been (somewhat) taught and possibly ordained.  They must have their feet held to the fire - and we must do it.

Archdiocese Of Baltimore Social Ministry Convocation Needs To Be Picketed

The 44th Annual Social Ministry Convocation, sponsored by the Archdiocese of Baltimore, will happen on February 25 at Mercy High School on Northern Parkway in Baltimore.  You'll notice that the website url shows that it is on the server of the Archdiocese of Baltimore.

Take a look at the workshops.  The very first one is being conducted by members of Pax Christi, a dissident group if ever there was one.  Look who their Board President is - Bishop John Stowe of Lexington Kentucky - yes, him!  He threw the Covingoton Boys under the bus, never apologizing after they were exonerated.  During "pride week" in 2020, he apologized to gays for the Church's teachings on sinful relations.  I don't have time to examine the other board members at the moment.  Upon further examination of the workshop's description, we notice that little part about "cooperation with other like-minded groups"?  Just what groups might that be?  Why, other anti-God and leftist cabals, of course.

Moving further down, we see an even worse workshop entitled "Come And Listen: Transgender Catholic Families And Individuals Share Their Experiences Living In A Catholic Parish".  Were these individuals mistreated?  I would venture to say "yes" IF they were not encouraged and/or admonished to repent of sinful sexual conduct and avail themselves of the Sacrament of Confession.  However, I suspect their definition of mistreatment might be some actual proclamation of truth necessary to their salvation.  In other words, it will be a perversion-coddling sob-story session.

The next one appears to be advising border-crashers how to evade the few immigration-control laws that we have.  The description in its original Spanish is "Lo que necesita saber sobre la ley del Real ID y las implicaciones para la comunidad indocumentada"  Pope that into Google Translate and we have "What you need to know about the Real ID law and its implications for the undocumented community"

"Undocumented community" is just a polite way of calling these people "cabals of border-crashers showing utter disregard for our laws.

To sum up, we see in these workshops such topics as environmentalism, racism, coddling illegal immigrants, and so on.  Now what do we not see?  You guessed it!  Nary a peep is uttered about the baby-slaughter known as abortion.  The fact is that Maryland is now an abortion-mecca, with two late-term butcher shops to our disgrace.  We also see nothing about euthanasia, embryonic stem cell research.  I might point out that the Church, in its insane push for Covid vaccination, actually participated in the sin of embryonic stem cell research, but I digress.

As much as many good people want to eradicate abortion from our cultural landscape, we will not succeed until we purge the advocacy of abortion from our Church hierarchy.  We can make a jab at it on Feb 25.  The gabfest is slated to run between 9am to 3pm.  As we finalize courses of action, we will communicate them to our readers via a future blog post.

FBI Attempts To Marginalize Traditional Catholics

Several years ago when hints of anti-Catholic bigotry started to pop up sporadically, I coined a phrase to describe how the politically correct progressives - many with money, power and worldly influence - were treating us.  That phrase is (and I will have to misspell it and substitute some characters to evade the bots that are censoring truth) "n!gg@rs of the new age".  I think that meaning is quite clear.

The language is shocking, I know.  In fact, it should be shocking to describe accurately an increasingly shocking reality AND to wake up some people who would rather deny reality and live in a rose-colored-glasses idyllic little bubble.  Several friends of mine were also made uncomfortable and expressed displeasure at my use of the phrase.  A few of them were more indignant about the phrase than they were of the actual instances of anti-Catholic bigotry happening at that time.

Unless you've had blinders over your eyes and fingers in your ears, by now you've learned of the FBI memo that has essentially called faithful Catholics who prefer the Latin Mass "white supremists" and "racists".  The precise title of this lovely tome is "Interest of Racially or Ethnically Motivated Violent Extremists in Radical-Traditionalist Catholic Ideology Almost Certainly Presents New Mitigation Opportunities"     Can it be any more obvious?  Recall the gestapo-like raid on Mark Houck and that kangaroo-court trial that he underwent.  Thanks be to God for the Thomas More Society and some judges who still adhere to some semblance of Constitutional convictions.

We can also thank the Lord for the courage of Kyle Seraphin, a former FBI agent turned whistle-blower.  He made that memo public.  Pray for his safety, lest an unfortunate "suicide" befall him.

They say that cockroaches hate the light, and the ones at the FBI are no different.  Facing well-deserved backlash and rebukes, they rescinded the memo.  But Taylor Marshall in the video below asks whether or not they changed their policy.  Right now, they are behaving like little cowardly delinquents that got caught with their hands in the cookie jar and now are engaged in "cover-your-ass" damage control.  They "intend to investigate this", you see?  Yeah, right!  We do see!  They'll keep right on "investigating" until another big balloon or something else is staged to distract us.

At least for now, they abhor examination and attention.  So let's keep vigilant.

World Youth Day - Progressive Indoctrination?

World Youth Day 2023 is slated to be held in Lisbon Portugal from Aug 1 to Aug 6.  I have written a bit about them in the past.  It seems that when the first ones happened, they were relatively decent, but then started degrading into something decidedly less holy and wholesome with the:
  • Rock-concert groupie atmosphere
  • Holy Communion being distributed in manners that can only be called sacrilegious (use of plastic cups, passing the Hosts around like they were snacks, etc)
  • Over-emphasis on feelings and emotions rather than reverence and worship
Some of the façade started to wear off when we saw some rather strange logos for these events and heard of "themes" being "environment", "immigration" and other progressive themes.  Check out this anthology of my previous posts for more detail.

LifeSite News brings us news of more pronounced concerns regarding the 2023 affair.  See here and here.  Right off the bat, I highly commend these parents in Poland for being vigilant about the influences to which their teen-aged children could be exposed.

The parents learned that the UN's "Sustainable Development Goals" were considered to be "guiding elements" by the WYD organizers.  Moreover, those organizers touted the Global Tree Initiative.  Right on their web page we see the shout-out to the Dalai Lama.  This is nothing more than religious pluralism.

These parents are correct in their less-than-favorable assessment of World Youth Day.  I'd suggest that all parents keep their youngsters away from that progressive indoctrination camp.  May I suggest a more spiritually uplifting alternative that holds true appeal to young people?  The Traditional Latin Mass!  There they can be fed and formed in the Faith of Saints and truly worship and encounter Jesus Christ.

Sigh! Saint Patrick's Day Will Be Mocked And Trivialized Again!

How, you ask?  Well it falls on a Lenten Friday, and bishops are already giving dispensations for the eating of meat on that day - in honor of St Patrick!  Of course!

Whom do they think they're fooling?  Why, Lent hasn't even begun and already three area dioceses have issued decrees for the dispensation.  Hey!  If the bishops can dispense a Lenten penance for childish reason, why can they not exercise that same episcopal discretion and grant greater liberality for the celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass?  Oh, wait!  They'll only do that for the diminishing of piety, not its increase.  See how that works?

How will you really honor St Patrick on his feast day?

Rosary Novena For The Protection Of The Tridentine Mass

Many might have heard that a new encyclical is in the works, one that would further restrict the celebration of the Tridentine Mass, as well as other sacraments conferred in the Latin rite.  Most notably, it would forbid priestly ordinations in the Tridentine rite.  This would impact several religious communities, such as the Priestly Fraternity of St Peter.   That is a direct violation of Quo Primum, but with this Vatican crew, Sacred Tradition seems to be a thing to be despised.

I attend the Tridentine Mass at the Shrine of St. Alphonsus Ligouri.  For years now it has been administered by the Priestly Fraternity of St Peter.  Today during the homily the priests asked us to pray a Rosary novena that starts tomorrow, Monday February 6, to ask Our Lady's intercession for the preservation of the Mass and the charism of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter.  The guideline, distributed at Mass today, appears below.  Please join us and ask others to do the same.

Mark Houck To Pursue Legal Action

As well he should.  He made that announcement on Steve Bannon's War Room podcast on January 31st.  He and his family deserve justice, both legal and financial, for the terror that was recklessly inflicted upon them by the jackbooted thugs that practically broke into his house on September 23, 2022.

But beyond that, it will give pro-aborts reason to pause as they realize that pro-life people will no longer just "take it on the chin".  We realize that we must stand for ourselves as a means of protecting other pro-life people from pro-abortion thugs who might be emboldened by any misguided passivity on our part.
