dreaded anticipated "Synod on Synodality" will start next week and it promises to be a blight upon Holy Mother Church. First, take a look at the complete list of delegates to this gab-fest, courtesy of the National Catholic Register. Cardinal Gregory appears towards the bottom of the list, in the section entitled "members nominated by Pope Francis". In other words, he holds no position in the US Conference of Catholic Bishops, but Francis wants him there anyway. Others who are so esteemed (?) by Francis include Cardinal Cupich, Father James Martin, and Cardinal McElroy. I see that Cardinal Muller is also in that list. That list was created before Muller publicly supported Bishop Strickland, so we'll see what his fate there will be, but I digress.
Now look at this article, penned by Gregory, that appeared on page 5 of the September 14th issue of the Catholic Standard. (Note: Should this link be "broken", please advise. I have the printed version and would be more than happy to upload pictures of that.) Pay close attention to the last sentence of the second paragraph. You will see that Gregory, in his use of the term "sexual orientation", likens the intrinsically disordered orientation of same-sex and other perverted attraction to innate and benign characteristics such as ethnicity, language, etc.
This mention of "sexual orientation" is no accident, no Freudian slip. Recall that when Gregory first come to Washington DC, he participated in a "Theology on Tap" session during which he sang the praises of Fortunate Families, a gay-coddling cabal.
Since then, Gregory has been relatively quiet regarding the gay agenda. But now, on the cusp of this Sin-Nod for Sodomy, he's making noises as though he is once again shilling for sexual perversion. This article was no blooper, no slip of the tongue. It is a shot across the bow, a harbinger of things to come, particularly from this Sin-Nod. And that is just what this gab-fest will: a nod towards the sins of sodomy and other perversions of not only morals but the One True Faith as well.
Please be praying your Rosaries and be studying the Faith on your own, for you'll get no real guidance, neither from the Vatican nor any of the chanceries from which these Sin-Nod delegates hail. Also please do not contribute to any in-pew collection for Bishop's appeals nor for the Peter's Pence collections. Direct any such donations to those organizations that uphold the Traditional Catholic teachings on faith and morals.

In my previous post, the one just before this, I voiced a hope in the second paragraph that there would be other prelates besides Archbishop Vigano and Bishop Schneider who would publicly support Bishop Strickland. Therefore I was pleased to see in LifeSiteNews that Cardinal Muller, former Prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, voicing his support of Strickland and urging him not to resign.
Your Eminences and Your Excellencies, it is time to stand for Christ's teachings and to be counted as faithful prelates!
Saturday, September 16, 2023
Bishop Strickland made a statement regarding the news of the Vatican's desire for his resignation. He acknowledged the pope's right to remove him from his post. However, he says that he will not resign, thus running from the charge given to him by Pope Benedict. I for one support Strickland's stance. If the pope wants Strickland out, he will have to get ugly about it.
Bishop Athanasius Schneider sent to Bishop Strickland a very supportive letter, and it was shared by LifeSiteNews. In that letter, Schneider told Strickland that future popes would thank Strickland for his fidelity to Christ's teachings. Likewise, Archbishop Vigano communicated his thoughts to Strickland, encouraging him to continue his course and not quit his post voluntarily. We await communications from other prelates. Surely Schneider and Vigano cannot be the only ones who, like Strickland, understand what it truly means to be a bishop.
So what will be Francis' next move? Whatever it is, it will have to wait. It seems that Francis is going to address the Clinton Foundation on September 18. This will take the form of a "special conversation" with Bill Clinton regarding favorite pet causes of the progressives, such as "climate change" and unbridled amnesty for border-crashers. Other attendees of this conference include Hillary and Chelsea Clinton, some of our less-than-favorite left-wing governors such as the ones from California, Maryland, Illinois, Michigan. Among others, there is a representative from an outfit called "Black Trans Liberation". Now take a look at this guy. Would you want to meet him in a dark alley?
Somehow when Francis chats with Bill Clinton, I suspect that he won't be calling the Clintons and the rest of that cabal to repentance for their promotion of baby-slaughter and sexual perversions. I expect that conversation to be all happy-clappy with mutual praise and admiration flowing ad nauseum.
Understand the reason why Francis is only too happy to chat with a pro-abortion left-wing cabal while drawing long knives upon faithful clergy. He and the ilk led by George Soros, Klaus Schwab, Bill Gates, etc are in cahoots with each other. Faithful prelates stand in their way because the leftwing agenda is at complete odds with the teachings of Our Lord. Not only do the progressives consider bishops like Joseph Strickland to be fair game, but the bulls-eyes are trained on us as well. We need to acknowledge that.

Recently Kristan Hawkins of Students for Life sent an email blast to her list. The topic revolved around the pro-lifers who were arrested and are now facing prison because of the rescue at Cesare Santangelo's baby-killing center in Washington DC. Five of the activists have already been convicted and the others will go on trial shortly.
I gather that some affiliates of Students for Life were concerned that their sidewalk activism might land them in jail and Hawkins was trying to reassure them that it wouldn't. While I understand her desire to give assurances to her affiliates, she did so in a way that appears to belittle the efforts of those who engaged in the rescue of 2020.
The body of her email blast appears below, with problematic parts highlighted.
Begin blast email.
I've had a handful of students reach out concerned that doing peaceful pro-life activism, like engaging in sidewalk counseling or praying in front of an abortion facility, could result in an arrest.
First and foremost, I'm writing you today to nip that in the bud... but I also want to give you some context.
In October of 2020, pro-lifers affiliated with a different organization protested at the Washington Surgi-Clinic, operated by the notorious late-term abortionist Cesare Santangelo. Their chosen form of protest was a blockade of the facility.
They knew that blocking the abortion facility was illegal, and they could be arrested for a felony thanks to the unjust FACE Act, which has been a law since the early 90s. This week, these activists were found guilty of FACE Act violations, which will be appealed according to their attorneys’ statements, and they are now in jail awaiting their sentencing, which could mean up to 11 years in federal prison.
These young people collectively face decades in jail.
XXX, I understand the passion that drove these activists to protest this evil late-term abortion facility.
What Santangelo allegedly did to at least five fully-formed babies is horror beyond words.
But while I empathize AND wholeheartedly believe the FACE Act is a garbage law designed to silence pro-lifers, I don’t believe that risking arrest and eleven years in a federal prison is the way the Pro-Life Generation will abolish abortion.
The activism we ask the Pro-Life Generation to engage in is always legal.
Now, you may be remembering a different 2020 incident in which Students for Life members were arrested in Washington, D.C. for sidewalk chalking.
There are some really important differences between these two arrests:
1. SFLA made every effort to obtain legal permission to carry out our event in front of the Washington, D.C. Planned Parenthood. We were unjustly denied despite our peaceful activities being clearly protected by the First Amendment (as we've argued in court, due to viewpoint discrimination). We did not show up thinking anyone would be arrested for sidewalk chalking.
2. The activists arrested at Santangelo's facility knowingly violated the FACE Act. It's their prerogative to peacefully carry out pro-life activism that way, knowing they will be punished by a weaponized, pro-abortion Department of Justice. But it's just not how we do things at SFLA.
I believe pro-life activism can be impactful, life-saving, and mind-changing within the confines of the law.
Granted, the FACE Act is, as I mentioned, a garbage law meant to oppress Americans who believe abortion is wrong.
It's representative of a pattern of legal oppression against pro-life Americans that is emerging.
But we will protest and work to change bad laws - not break them.
And we will not stop working as hard as possible to abolish abortion, no matter what stands in our way.
Please let me know if you have any questions about our practices and beliefs as it relates to your involvement with Students for Life.
End blast email.
I have things that I could say about those hghlighted phrases, but that would obscure my main point. It's one thing to disagree with tactics used by others, but quite another to hold oneself superior to others because of that disagreement. This is what comes across in this email blast. If that was not the intent, I suggest some clarification be issued.
The pro-life battle has many fronts. Various good people will focus on given fronts, depending on their talents and their life circumstances.
This is not the first time I've addressed this matter. Besides this blog, I also write for a Baltimore-based pro-life organization called Defend Life. On page 3 of the May 23 - June 23 issue, I addressed it because of a talk given by one of the rescuers. He too fell into the error of disparaging aspects of pro-life work that utilized tactics other than rescues.
I humbly suggest that all pro-life parties cease immediately this sniping at each other and/or engaging in self-aggrandizement at each other's expense.

Whining to some fellow Jesuits while in Portugal for the World Youth Debacle, Pope Francis crabbed about Catholics faithful to Tradition, calling us "backwards-looking" and "reactionary". He tries so hard to convince us that there is an "appropriate evolution in the understanding of matters of faith and morals".death penalty is a sin; you cannot employ it, but it was not so before." If he wants to yammer about "appropriate evolution", here is a case where this so-called "evolution" is so inappropriate as to be called heresy, or at least based on heresy. The underlying heresy is in believing that God can somehow change. He is beyond change. He is immutable, and thus His words and thoughts are, too. Pope St. Pius X had much to say about Francis' mindsets in Pascendi Dominici Gregis. I suggest you read it.
Later he said, "what I don't like at all is that we look at the so-called 'sins of the flesh' with a magnifying glass..if you lied or cheated, it doesn't matter and instead, only sins below the waist are relevant". "So-called sins of the flesh"? Yes, Francis! That is the term used by Our Lady of Fatima when she told the three children that more souls go to hell on account of sins of the flesh than any other sins. I can see, though, where that might not be relevant if one doesn't believe in hell.
He said this regarding persons currently committing mortal sins of homosexual relations: "the door is open to everyone. Everyone has their own space in the church." After this is when he let loose with his "so-called sins of the flesh" quips.
I believe there is some "method to the madness" here. He has two things on the horizon. First there is this so-called "Synod on Synodality" that some have dubbed "sin-nod on sodomy". Yes, there will most likely be some heresy regarding homosexuality that comes out of this thing. In fact, given previous patterns regarding past meetings, the "documents resulting from the synod" are most likely written and ready to be released at an opportune time. Of course any little poison pill will be buried amidst piles and piles of fluffy-puff verbosity.
Speaking of verbal diarrhea, be prepared for another encyclical that Michael Matt has dubbed "Laudato Si II". Oh, joy! Hear for yourselves.
We need to resist the onslaughts against truth coming at us from the Vatican, just as we must resist the civil wonks who are rattling the covid sabers again.

I speak of Bishop Robert McManus of the Diocese of Worcester in Massachusetts. He directed that in the diocesan schools, students will conform to their biological genders. That means no tweaking of pronouns, using the names given to them at birth, using the bathrooms assigned to their biological sexes, wearing the correct uniform of their gender and playing sports according to their sex at birth.
He's getting blowback of course. After all this is Massachusetts. Some state legislators are waxing indignant with his actions. Where, oh where, is all this separation of church and state? It seems like the libs drop that pretense when it suits them.
Please contact Bishop McManus here. Thank him for his stance and assure him of your prayers. You can bet that the alphabet crowd are yapping and yammering at him.

I have just become aware of a situation in Arlington, Texas, where a monastery of Discalced Carmelite nuns are being harassed by the local bishop (diocese of Fort Worth). This follows the pattern established by this pope of persecuting those orders faithful to the Traditional rites. Apparently their property is not owned by the local church so the nuns have banned the bishop and his lackeys from coming onto their property. See more detail here; within that page is a link to a statement issued by Archbishop Vigano who states his support for the nuns and their position.
Meanwhile in Canada, a former nun of the order of Dominicans of the Holy Spirit, founded by an ally of Archbishop Marcel LeFebvre, was dismissed by Cardinal Marc Ouellet. The dismissal decree cited her "evil spirit" but gave no specific reasons for the allegation. This occurred after an apostolic visit by an abbot close to Ouellet. The prioress of the monastery is also allied with Ouellet.
Contrast these cases with the appointment of Eugenio Zaffaroni to a Vatican position to shill for unbridled immigration. Like several others, he is an Argentine, as is Francis. It was discovered that as recently as ten years ago, he was running a string of apartments that were used for prostitution. To put it bluntly, he was a brothel pimp. Now this isn't just a case of a shady character wheedling his way to the Vatican. Unbridled immigration has been used as a cloak for sex trafficking. Zaffaroni has ties to prostitution. Connect the dots.

About four years ago, when Cardinal Gregory was just getting his feet wet in the Archdiocese of Washington, he held a meeting with young Catholics downtown. Right off the bat he started singing the praises of Fortunate Families, an organization that facilitates the commission of homosexual perversions. He was quite unabashed about it, and most likely still is. Please watch that video.
LifeSiteNews broke a story about a rather prominent priest in this diocese, who is clearly moving up the echelons of ecclesial power. He is Father Edgardo "Lalo" Jara. He hails from Costa Rica and has been until recently stationed at St. Camillus in Hyattsville, a liberal parish if there was one. Currently he occupies the position of Director of Evangelization and Parish Planning for the Archdiocese, among others.
LifeSiteNews reports a rather squalid association that Jara has with what is known as a "sexologist". This individual, Margarita Murillo, also hails from Costa Rica. She fancies herself to be an "expert in gender" and advocates for LGBT agenda and quite a bit of sexual perversion. Among the perverted practices are contraception, masturbation and the use of sex toys.
|From his website |
Jara brought this woman to Catholic schools to spread her poison to children and to give a workshop on "healing sexuality". Does that sound familiar? Think Cardinal Kissy-Face!
Jara, advocating for mortal sin, urges us to "respect homosexuality" and not condemn it. He urges parents not to change the channel if their children are watching two of the same sex engaging in kissing. Hold that thought while I now switch focus to an unfolding situation in Montgomery County.
During the 2020-2021 school year, the Montgomery County School Board enacted its "Gender Support Plan". Among the provisions of this thing is an explicit allowance for keeping parents in the dark regarding their children's misguided wishes to "transition". Parents became alerted when they received notices that they would no longer be allowed to opt their children out of "gender identity lessons". So far the courts have turned a deaf ear to them.
Montgomery County is within the Archdiocese of Washington. Given that Jara disrespects parents who try to keep gay-affirming slop from their children, do you think these beleaguered parents can expect any support from the local chancery? Neither do I!
We have here yet another reason not to give a penny to the Archdiocese and to homeschool our children.

The young people were also poorly served just before the pope's final Mass at the World Youth Debacle. The Mass was scheduled to begin at 9am. Starting at 7am, a priest, Father Gilherme Peixoto, a self-styled "DJ priest", played rather weird "techno" music quite loudly, awakening many of the young people who were sleeping in front of the altar on the grounds.
LifeSiteNews has a an excellent expose of what happened, along with background regarding this priest. There are two youtube clips: one of the "performance" at WYD (the entire half-hour claptrap) along with another "performance" last year. That one showed a performance of his that can only be called satanic. I go to a traditional Latin Mass. A few minutes before Mass begins, the organist will play sacred music to assist people in quieting themselves and focusing on what is about to happen. As you watch the video of the racket that precedes the WYD mass, you'll notice some misguided kids dancing - hardly the recollection necessary to assist at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
Peter Kwasniewski has a piece in Crisis magazine, just published today, called "World Profanation Day". Read it. I think most sane people will agree that the world youth debacle needs to be scuttled as of now.

Yes, World Youth Day 2023 has (mercifully) drawn to a close. As you can see, the organizers are packing up their stuff until next year. Uh.. wait a minute!
Does that include the Blessed Sacrament? Yes, that is where the organizers of the World Youth Dumpster-Fire have saw fit to keep the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Our Lord. This is sacrilege, pure, simple and inexcusable. I believe those young people on the right are in adoration, and I hope that adoration is sufficient to serve as reparation for the sacrilege. If we wonder why people no longer believe in the Real Presence, it is because Our Lord is treated so carelessly and flippantly: passing Him around in paper bowls as though the Hosts were potato chips and then placing Him in some ugly profane crate
The pope, while still in Lisbon, gave another "surprise" interview. During that interview, he opined that "people with right-wing ideologies were the most dangerous faction in the Church". Moreover, he said that "we need normal seminarians, with their problems, who play soccer and who don't go to the neighborhoods to dogmatize".
Most dangerous faction, are we? Well, I suppose that depends on your perspective. On August 3, an openly gay priest offered a Mass for LGBTQ people. I could be incorrect, I hope I am, in believing that these people were unrepentant and continuing with their perversions. At any rate, a group of traditional Catholics were also in that church, and they began to pray to drown out the blasphemy and sacrilege. They even (gasp!) wore mantillas and carried Crucifixes. Police were called and the real Catholics were ushered out. Then Father James Alison, the gay concelebrant of that Mass said of the traditionalist protesters, "the interruption highlights the challenges that LGBTQ Catholics face in trying to practice their faith."
"Practice their faith"??? Father, if you really want to remove those challenges, repent of your own perversions, get to Confession, and then start proclaiming God's teachings regarding the sin of homosexuality (in all its varieties). As it stand now, you might be eligible for that millstone to be tied around a neck.
Yes indeed. I do hope that we are "dangerous" to those, including the pope, who seem hell-bent on mutilating our Faith beyond recognition. Speaking of which, remember this and this from two months ago? If this pope says we are the "most dangerous faction", I will take that as a badge of honor.
Now orthodoxy wasn't completely ignored - just that in regards to Sacred Tradition. In one other area, orthodoxy was mandated! All pilgrims were told to download an app onto their phones to measure...what? How many times they went to Mass? Whether or not they made good confessions? How many rosaries they prayed? No! Of course not! Why, that's so, so..rigid! Nope! This thing was a questionnaire to measure the "carbon footprint" that each person made while at the WYD, and then told them ways to "offset" those nasty "footprints". The priorities of WYD are clearly on display - steer the focus of the youth from things of God to things of this earthly life, with a left-leaning tilt to boot. By the way, don't you just wonder who created that app, and what else it may be doing on the phones of those unsuspecting kids?

What a tragedy that World Youth Day has fallen prey to the current trend to secularize the Catholic Church & de- emphasize Jesus Christ. No wonder it will have the lowest attendance since John Paul II first began WYD in 1986. It WAS a beautiful moment of evangelization.— Bishop J. Strickland (@Bishopoftyler) August 1, 2023

Catholic Charities USA selected its new President and Chief Executive Officer. Her name is Kerry Alys Robinson. Judging from that write-up, it appears that she will help propel Catholic Charities down to its progressive abys. She is replacing Sister Donna Markam, who will soon retire. She hails from the Leadership Roundtable, which is fraught with its own left-wing influences. She was a member of the national committee for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, about which I and other Catholic bloggers have written copiously.
Let's look at some of her new colleagues at Catholic Charities USA. There's Keith Styles, the Executive Vice President, General Council and Chief Operating Officer. He has quite the record for political contributions, donating regularly to ActBlue and to "Hillary for America" in 2016. John Kerry received $1,000.00 when he ran in 2004.
All in all, we have ample reason to believe that Catholic Charities will continue to champion left-wing ideologies, and they'll most likely continue to facilitate the crashing of our southern borders. Catholic Charities remains another "catholicized" slush fund that doesn't deserve our collection dollars.

In the middle of this video, Michael Matt shows the opening ceremonies of Vatican II. One thing that one immediately notices is the grandeur that one belonged to the Catholic Church. This was when she knew her place as the Bride of Christ, entrusted to bring the Gospel of Jesus to the world and to lead them to salvation via the Sacraments and her Teachings. Alas, some nefarious elements had already insinuated themselves into the hierarchy by stealth. They sought to undermine the Church's teaching authority to her clerics and laity; in large part, they succeeded.
After watching the video, please scroll below it for there is much more to be said.
Some have opined that the Vatican II fathers might have meant well and the whole thing simply ran amok in its implementation. Those good intentions might well have been held by the majority of the bishops, but enough of them, particularly those in high offices of the Vatican, seem to have had intentions to undermine the Church. Pope John XXIII was either their willing dupe or their accomplice. Michael Matt, in another piece, detailed how the then-pope undermined and directly thumbed his nose at an encyclical written by his immediate predecessor, Pope Pius XII. That encyclical is Humani Generis. That link takes you to the English translation on the Vatican website. Please read it in its entirety.
Take a look at Matt's piece and study closely some of the quotes from John XXIII. Regarding the errors condemned by Pius XII, he said, "Frequently she has condemned them with the greatest severity. Nowadays, however, the spouse of Christ prefers to make use of the medicine of mercy rather than that of severity.'
Now who else has yammered about "mercy" as though it is superior to God's justice? We also know that quite a few dissidents were invited to Vatican II, such as Yves Congar and Hans Kung, along with various Protestant leaders. Francis continues that practice today.
There is no gainsaying that highly placed dissidents planned the deconstruction of the Church during Vatican II. Today, they are making no secret of it. Do we have eyes and ears to perceive what is so plainly set before us? Do we have the resolve to resist them with prayer and fidelity to the One True Church as she has always existed before she was deformed during these past 60 years?

This morning, Saturday July 22 2023, two local pro-life activists were assaulted outside of the Planned Parenthood in northeast DC. The two activists are Terrisa Bukovinac and Michael Gribbin. A man and woman walking their dog approached Bukovinac and threw a cop of coffee at her. When Gribbin tried to intervene, the man threw him to the ground and repeatedly punched him.
This comes just two weeks after an elderly pro-life activist was assaulted in nearby Takoma Park, and a few months after two pro-life men were assaulted at the Baltimore Planned Parenthood. There have been other attacks in other areas of the country. These attacks are obviously on the increase, no doubt as part of lashing out after the Dobbs decision. There is safety in numbers; please come out and be part of that "safety", as well as offer your own prayers and witness.
The video of today's episode from Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (founded by Bukovinac) is only available on youtube.

In an issue of Our Sunday Visitor I saw an ad for a children's book entitled "Arthur The Clumsy Altar Server". The blurb states, and I quote, "In this endearing children's story filled with charming illustrations, Arthur demonstrates perseverance, humility, and an unquenchable love of the Lord in pursuing his dream. Children will learn from Arthur that what matters most is the sincere desire to serve God - not performing perfectly."
I haven't read the book. I don't think I need to do that, to detect a subtle, but real problem with the thinking behind it. I highlighted the problematic phrases.
What I do not glean from this blurb is the acknowledgment that the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is most deserving of perfection - not only in intent but also in actual performance. It is the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and is about perfect worship of Jesus, not anyone "pursuing their dream". While Arthur may mean well enough, that in itself is not sufficient. We must not only mean well, we must actually do well. Anyone who claims that "meaning well" is all that matters is in serious error, placing mere feelings above actual tangible and measurable accomplishment.
It seems that this Arthur has issues with chronic clumsiness. I didn't read the book so I don't know if Arthur overcame his clumsiness or not. The illustration on the book cover portrays clumsiness of the sort that would cause disruption and distraction from Holy Mass itself and probably a fire hazard to boot. If he didn't overcome his clumsiness, one would hope that he'd have the humility to admit that he would not be suitable as an altar server and would pursue service of God via different means.
I cannot help but notice that this book was written by a woman. I've noticed that women, more so than men, are prone to place feelings over facts and to gloss over unpleasant truths to "spare feelings." Perhaps this is why liturgies today, particularly Novus Ordo liturgies, tend to be somewhat sloppy and sappy. Now before you portray me as some misogynistic ogre, please be advised that I myself am a woman.
Where else have we seen this "pursuing dreams" and "desire to serve God" being joined at the hip? Oh, yes! The "woman-priest-wannabee" movement! They portray themselves as so "sincere" and thus they're so, so "hurt" that Jesus, through His Church, wills the priesthood to be for men. I think we can also see that in "liturgical dancers", the choir being moved to the front of the church, etc.
There is a world of difference between "following dreams" versus "pursuing vocations" when it comes to being at God's service. As John the Baptist said, "He must increase. I must decrease".

Here is a picture of the thug who attacked Ms. Fairfax, spray paint in hand. You will notice there is a "bar review" logo on her shirt. If this woman is, or becomes a lawyer, pray that you are never represented by her. No wonder our legal system is going down the crapper!
If anyone knows this, uhh, "charming individual", please advise via the comment section. I will not publish the comment but merely pass the information to the authorities. Thanks.

In October the gab-fest begins. The list of attendees is out, and we know how things will wind up. The usual gang of homophiles and dissenters will be there, including:
- Cardinal Gregory
- Cardinal Cupich
- Cardinal Farrell
- Cardinal Tobin
- Cardinal McElroy
- Archbishop Fernandez, aka Kissy-Face
- Father James Martin
- Cardinal Maradiaga
- LGBTQ outreach? It has always existed in the Church. For those engaged in perverted practices, there is the Sacrament of Confession, encompassing repentance and resolution to cease such behaviors.
- Women deacons? As in ordination? That has already been determined. The answer is NO. What's the point of bantering about that?
Remember! He is now head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. Here is prima facie evidence of him proclaiming heresy against Catholic morality. To insinuate that the refusal to commit an act that is inherently sinful "contradicts charity" speaks of fundamental rebellion against Sacred Tradition and the God Who authored it.
In a 2006 article, written as vice-dean of the Catholic University of Argentina theology faculty, #PopeFrancis’s new doctrinal chief, Archbishop Víctor Fernández, argued that a woman’s “inflexible refusal to use condoms” could, in some cases, contradict the demands of charity.

On Saturday June 24, 2023, I attended the National Celebrate Life Day on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in celebration of the first anniversary of the Dobbs decision that ended Roe v Wade. Almost 60 years ago, Martin Luther King delivered his "I Have A Dream" speech from those same steps, although he was higher up on the steps than Saturday's speakers were.
I arrived late, but fortunately the video of the entire thing is online. I was able to collect some photos of my own. I will report off the official video and will post it below my remarks. Speakers included Alveda King, Lila Rose, Kristan Hawkins. Rose, in her remarks, opined that protection for the unborn child does not require another constitutional amendment for protection as that already exists under the 14th Amendment. That would be true, IF all agreed upon the definition of personhood. They don't. That is why a constitutional amendment that spells out when personhood begins, namely, when sperm enters the ovum, is needed.
I arrived just as Mike Pence was introduced. My immediate reaction was disappointment, and as his talk progressed, my misgivings were confirmed. He remarked on the Dobbs ruling, giving credit and thanks to pro-lifers' prayer and work for that ruling. He also gave credit to pro-life leaders. Most conspicuous, though, was any lack of mention of Donald Trump's pivotal role in that victory. It was Trump who nominated three of the five justices that voted to overturn Roe. He suggested that we work and pray to advance the cause of life. That is precisely what he should have done, when he, as Vice President, had the opportunity and responsibility to thwart the obviously bogus presidential election of 2020. His words ring hollow, especially when he said that we will work every day to elect leaders that will stand without apology for the unborn. In fact, he undermined the presidency of the man who made the Dobbs decision possible.
Marjorie Dannenfelser, in her talk, made mention of a president who kept his promises. It's a pity that she couldn't utter the word "Trump". Linn Fitch, the Attorney General of Mississippi, started by saying that she and her team argued for returning the matter to the states. Given the parameters put forth in the Dobbs legal action, that may have been all that they could argue. That doesn't mean that generally we must settle for that.
Sometime later, Penny Nance, president of Concerned Women for America, offered her remarks. She stated that "we are going to end abortion because we are going to take away the need for it". Stop right there! One cannot talk about a "need" for an intrinsic evil. That is an oxymoron. There might be a warped desire for it, but never a need for it. We simply must stop being sloppy with language and terminology. Our use of language must be precise and disciplined at all times.
When Chad Pechnold, a professor at Catholic University of America, took the stand, he stated that we could not return the abortion matter to the states, disagreeing with what the MS attorney general stated shortly before he took the stand. He stated that the President must recognize the personhood of the child and afford that child the protections due under the 14th Amendment. Again, this to me only solidifies the need to set in stone the definition of personhood. He evinced what I believe to be an overly confident attitude towards the courts. The courts can only act within their constitutional bounds, and that action is largely dependent on the judges that sit at those benches. I will say this, though, for Dr. Pechnold; he seemed to be the only speaker who might have been older than 40 years of age. I'll have more to say on that later in this post.
Nicole Hunt of Focus on the Family took the podium. She repeated a common misunderstanding in stating that babies' status as human beings begins in the womb. That's not quite so. A human person comes into existence when sperm fertilizes ovum, but that usually occurs in the Fallopian tubes. Then the new person, in his/her zygote stage, travels to the uterus to implant there. The child's cell count is already increasing as the migration takes place. A human life amendment to the Constitution would have to specify the exact stage of the beginning of personhood - the meeting of sperm and ovum.
All in all, this rally left me with quite a few misgivings. With the exceptions of the professor from CUA and Micheal Henney, most of the speakers seemed to be on the younger side. They projected exuberance, to be sure, but they didn't advise the attendees that the struggle is going to increase in intensity that can be disconcerting and even frightening. Why was no mention made of the Red Rose Rescuers who, even today, are facing jail sentences? Why no mention of Mark Houck and the persecution that he underwent last winter? Why no mention of Dick Schaefer and Mark Crosby who were severely beaten up as they witnessed in front of the Baltimore Planned Parenthood two months ago? Where were older, more "battle-hardened" leaders like Randall Terry, Monica Miller, Troy Newman, Brian Gibson? I realize that they may have distracted from the appearance of a happy-clappy celebration, but is that appearance realistic?
How did all this de facto cheer-leading prepare the attendees for the hard-scrabble fight that is ahead of us? As we tell the truth, we will make others uncomfortable - not just the hard-boiled pro-aborts, but also those who would rather keep their heads buried in the sand.
I think I know now why Donald Trump, who placed an essential role in the Dobbs case, was unmentioned. For all his faults, he is not afraid of a fight. He is ready to get in there and mix it up as the need arises. His example is a stark reminder that we pro-life people have to be similarly prepared to do so. Many are, but by and large, they were not represented on the podium of the Celebrate Life Rally. If we are to bring about protection for the babies, we pro-lifers must harden our noses, put some calcium in our backbones and thicken our skins. We must cease being afraid to get some dirt under our fingernails, get a little scrappy, to raise our voices and firmly rebuke the proponents of death.
One incident that happened just after the rally broke up brought these points to crystal clarity in my mind. A young pro-abort strolled through the crowd with a pro-abort poster that said something to the effect of "protect women's rights, keep abortion legal". I watched this for a few minutes. No one stopped him to take issue with his statements or to refute his logic. In fact, they were all smiley with him as they took pictures of him and his sign. Finally I chimed in, saying "protect slave-owners' rights, keep slavery legal". I was using his own logic, using slavery instead of abortion as the topic. He then said, they weren't the same as he scurried away. I followed him for a little bit and challenged him. He just tried to get away.
Finally other pro-lifers decided to pipe in - by rebuking me, not the pro-abort. They claimed I was racist because I'm white and the guy was black. So I fired back at them and they too scurried away. If this is the kind of nicey-nice lack of mental acumen that our young pro-life activists are expected to demonstrate, babies are going to pay the price, as will western civilization and Christianity.
It is way past time to knock the stars out of our eyes, act like adults and get serious about ending abortion and bringing about a Godly culture in our country.

The latest issue of the Catholic Standard is out, and they are celebrating a "Stone Ridge legend". That "legend" is Sister Anne Dyer, a longtime former principal of the school. She gave the commencement address on June 8, exhorting the graduates to "reflect the goals of Sacred Heart education in their lives". She and the staff are of the order known as the Society of the Sacred Heart.
Doesn't that sound like a lovely goal to which the graduates should aspire? Not so fast. Sister Dyer was headmistress when a number of us tried to get canceled their choice of commencement speaker - Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, who was at that time Lieutenant Governor of Maryland. Like most of the Kennedys, she is a rabid pro-abort. We returned next year to picket Sandra Day O'Connor, then-retired Supreme Court Justice, who made her pro-abortion proclivities well known, too. Since then, they kept their choices of commencement speakers under wraps, leading me to suspect that they too held positions contrary to Church teachings.
Getting back to the June 8 address, Sr. Dyer said that the five goals of a Sacred Heart education are "faith, intellect, social action, community and growth". However, she later let loose with a doozy regarding the transgender pronoun gobblygoop, contradicting all those lovely goals that she had enumerated. I'm going to copy and paste it straight from the Standard web page.
End quote. Yes she really said that. FULL STOP! If her students are graduating, thinking that they don't need to conform with God's design for them as women, she and her staff have done an abysmal job when it comes to Catholic education. If the students were hoodwinked into believing that they can monkey around with their genders, those five goals of Sacred Heart education were flushed down the toilet by these Sacred Heart sisters.
This, ladies and gentlemen, is but one example of the spiritual, moral and intellectual malaise that now grips Holy Mother Church.

As promised in yesterday's post, I'm now posting the video done by LifeSiteNews as we prayed and protested in front of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Washington DC.
Wednesday, June 14, 2023
As mentioned in my previous posts, a "pride Mass" occurred at 5:30 this evening at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Washington DC (Georgetown neighborhood). I was there and took the video and pictures that you'll see below (apologies for the choppiness of the video). In total, about 25-30 Catholics were gathered across the street from the Church to pray. LifeSiteNews was also there, recording the event. I will post their articles as they are made available. In the meantime, they published a statement from Archbishop Vigano wherein he takes Cardinal Gregory to task for his promotion of homosexuality.
Two days ago I placed a call to Cardinal Gregory's office at the Archdiocese of Washington. Naturally no human being answered the phone so I had to leave a voice mail, leaving my phone number and asking for a reply. Of course I knew that reply would never come, but I extended them the opportunity to do so. I suspect I am not the only one to have called. One lady who herself suffers from same-sex attraction placed a public tweet asking the Cardinal to have that Mass canceled. She added that she doesn't celebrate the sin, but rather, her repentance and return to the Church. Of course she too was denied the courtesy of a reply. I commend Ms. Howell for speaking boldly on the matter.
The Daily Signal likewise looked askance upon Cardinal Gregory's silence on the matter, believing that silence implies consent. I believe they are correct. Recall that when Cardinal Gregory first took the helm at this Archdiocese, one of his first talks was to archdiocesan youth; therein he extolled praises to Fortunate Families, a gay-affirming cabal. The Signal quoted the statement from Trinity's pastor regarding the Mass. That statement made mention of "transforming lives". Well, how are they transformed? Given the "public displays of affection" that I got on video this evening, on the steps of the Church (you'll see them below), I'd say the transformation would lead them straight to hell.
My video now appears, and below that will be the pictures of the two pervert couples, obviously unrepentant, going to the Mass and most likely receiving Communion. It dawns on me that the celebrant of that Mass may, owing to his obvious dissidence, may lack the proper intention to perform the consecration, rendering that Mass invalid. Would any theologians reading this care to comment? For the sake of those attending that Mass, I hope I am correct for they'd be spared the guilt of one less sacrilegious Holy Communion.
Here's the first picture, to the right. These are two guys. The one on the left had been waiting for his sodomite partner. In the video, you see him chatting with someone else at the 0:32 marker, before the other one arrives. After this, uhh, "enthusiastic greeting", they went into the church.
At the 2:08 mark, we see the lesbians arrive. Just before they started up the steps, they noticed us across the street. It certainly seemed that we made them uncomfortable, but they continued to hold hands as the guard ushered them into the church.
