Rosary Novena For The Protection Of The Tridentine Mass

Many might have heard that a new encyclical is in the works, one that would further restrict the celebration of the Tridentine Mass, as well as other sacraments conferred in the Latin rite.  Most notably, it would forbid priestly ordinations in the Tridentine rite.  This would impact several religious communities, such as the Priestly Fraternity of St Peter.   That is a direct violation of Quo Primum, but with this Vatican crew, Sacred Tradition seems to be a thing to be despised. 

I attend the Tridentine Mass at the Shrine of St. Alphonsus Ligouri.  For years now it has been administered by the Priestly Fraternity of St Peter.  Today during the homily the priests asked us to pray a Rosary novena that starts tomorrow, Monday February 6, to ask Our Lady's intercession for the preservation of the Mass and the charism of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter.  The guideline, distributed at Mass today, appears below.  Please join us and ask others to do the same.

Pope Francis : Eat Less Meat To Save The Planet

Mind you, he's in Canada right now planning to commit horrible idolatry during his "penitential pilgrimage".  His pushing of the "climate change" hoax, along with other aspects of the Great Reset, continues with no restraint.

I guess it does make sense that he is asking us to eat less meat.  With his hatred of the Traditional Latin Mass, he is seeking to starve us spiritually.  Why wouldn't he ask us to starve ourselves physically?

By-the-by, in honor of all the pope's planet-saving, I had meat loaf for dinner tonight!

Today's Catholic Standard

This issue, on the front page, featured an account of the first Tridentine Mass offered at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in decades.  I was unable to attend, but appreciate seeing the pictures of the obvious reverence.

I was a tad disappointed to see the "Catholic News Service" piece about the service for the West Virginia miners.  The disappointing element, of course, was the inappropriate prominence afforded to Barack HUSSEIN Obama and Joe Biden.  The only photo in that article was of them.  Yes, they are the President and Vice President respectively, but they're also men who've used their high offices and influence to promote baby-murder.

The bulk of that article seems to have been devoted to Obama's address.  Well, let's look at that, shall we?  He quotes "from emails and letters" that plead "don't let it happen again" (as though the Messiah Most Miserable is actually divine in nature).  Needless to say, it's a shameless plug for more governmental regulation in matters about which it knows absolutely nothing.

Here is a matter, though, about which the President can, and should act to prevent.  I speak of the slaughter, to the tune of 3500 each day, of unborn children via abortion.  "Don't let it happen again"?  This president is hell-bent on making certain that not only does it happen again, but with much more ease and frequency than ever before!  How dare he and Joe Biden shed crocodile tears over the 29 miners, while at the same time pronouncing death over millions of innocent children?

Why, oh why, do the Catholic News Service and the Catholic Standard insist on celebrating these individuals?  Well, there is some improvement.  In previous years, this article would have occupied the front page and the Tridentine Mass would have been on the last pager.  This is progress.

Mass in Extraordinary Form Coming To St John Neumann

In today's bulletin was the announcement that the Tridentine Mass will commence at St John Neumann Church in Gaithersburg, MD  starting Feb 21st at 5pm.  For now, these will be Low Masses, but perhaps the Easter Mass will be a High Mass.

Hitherto, the only such Masses have been at St Mary's in DC (near Chinatown) and at the old St John's in Silver Spring (across the street from the KofC Rosensteel Council).  Those in the northern part of Montgomery County and further north will find this to be a bit more convenient, albeit being late in the day.

At any rate, I'll be there!  I hope to see many of you there, too!
