Obama Et Al, Time To Say Goodbye

I just saw this.  It does seem to be appropriate since the Messiah Most Miserable and his Minions Most Mindless do seem to be hanging around like barnacles.

President Trump And Notre Dame

Most of us remember how the University of Notre Dame disgraced itself by allowing the Messiah Most Miserable to sully its commencement ceremony AND receive an honorary degree from what once was a Catholic institution.  This happened in 2009.  Many good people protested, both before and during the debacle, from afar and right on the campus itself with some being arrested.  Father Jenkins was warned of the protests beforehand but carried on, claiming that the President of the United States should be a welcome speaker.

My!  How times change in these eight years!  When faced with the prospect of President Trump giving a commencement address at his campus, all of the sudden, Jenkins is having his doubts!  Says the UND president, "I do think the elected leader of the nation should be listened to. And it would be good to have that person on the campus — whoever they are, whatever their views.  At the same time, the 2009 commencement was a bit of a political circus, and I think I’m conscious that that day is for graduates and their parents — and I don’t want to make the focus something else."

Let's examine all this, shall we?  We'll start from the end: "I don't want to make the focus something else".  What a piece of crock!  When Obama came, Jenkins didn't care one whit about that day being "for the graduates and their parents".  It was a victory lap for both Obama and Father Theodore Hesburgh.  The latter was president of UND from 1952 - 1987.  During that time he authored the heretical Land-O-Lakes Statement and helped the infiltration of progressivism into the inner workings of the Church hierarchy.  Because he also gave aid and comfort to Msgr Jack Egan as the latter was developing the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, he fostered the kind of "community organizing" that jump-started Obama's political career.  Yes indeed, Jenkins was celebrating a triumph of progressivism that day, not the graduates.

Now let's look at the "circus".  He thinks that more of that may be present because of Trump as opposed to Obama?  Arguably he has a point.  Consider the rioting and rampage that occurred in various metropolitan areas as marauders roamed the streets, smashed windows, beat up Trump supporters, set things on fire, etc while proclaiming that Trump is "not my president".  Consider all those Clinton supporters who claimed to be traumatized, with many campuses setting up crisis counseling centers all because their candidate lost.  Perhaps Jenkins is concerned that UND students will have their noses put out of joint in such great numbers that he'll have trouble setting up enough counseling centers, safe spaces, etc.  Such a circus might indeed dwarf what he faced in 2009.  Does Jenkins realized what he might have admitted?  He might have cheered all the mayhem that happened elsewhere after the election, but isn't so keen with the prospect of his own campus being trashed by overgrown brats.  Well, just as he jailed the pro-life protesters, he can grow a backbone and be prepared to haul away any rampaging snowflakes.

Such double standards these progressives have!  And now the masks are coming off their faces.

Obama And Keehan Gloat Together

The meeting about which I posted Sunday did indeed occur this past Tuesday.  Obama did crow before the Catholic Health Association.  During that speech he told the CHA and in particularly Sister Carol Keehan.  Some snippets:

• "We could not have gotten the ACA done without Sister Carol.."
• "Without your (im)moral force we could not have succeeded.." (italicized letters my editorial contribution)

These statements of the Messiah Most Miserable are factually correct.  They underscore the utter betrayal wrought by Sister Carol Keehan and her poorly-named Catholic Healthcare Association.  I won't go into all the other evils of Obamacare; suffice it to say that its facilitation of abortion and contraception, even to the point of forcing Catholics to pay for it, is a complete, utter travesty.  During the meeting, Obama quipped, "I just love nuns generally."  Somehow I don't think the Little Sisters of the Poor are "feeling the luuuv!" from the Messiah Most Miserable.

Cardinal Maradiaga Continues His Espousal Of Socialism

I've written quite a bit about the harm that Cardinal Maradiaga is inflicting upon the Church: his dalliance with the World Social Forum, his encouragement of the encroachment of illegal aliens and his foolish embrace of "climate warming" (we could use a little warming right now, but I digress).  Now consider that he is the head of the "gang of eight" prelates that are serving as top advisers to the pope.

Today the Catholic Herald UK gave details about remarks made by the cardinal at a book presentation recently.  In the words of the Herald piece, "The book includes an interview with Pope Francis responding to accusations that he is a Marxist or a Communist because of his insistence that the economy, finance and free market must be controlled to ensure a greater distribution of the world’s wealth. A portion of the interview was published in January. 'I did not say anything that is not in the social teaching of the Church,' he said in the full interview."

This "insistence that the economy be controlled" begs some questions.  First, who or what should be doing this "controlling"?  That makes a world of difference.  If that controlling is done by the government, well that is socialism by definition.  And if the pope and cardinal think that socialism does not contradict Church teaching, what do they say about the words of previous pontiffs?

Further down the article, we see the cardinal grumbling about "bank officials" being allowed to retire comfortably and play golf while others are struggling.  Again, who does this "allowing"?  Have you ever noticed how these socialists like to couch their sentences in passive voice?  When one uses passive voice in a sentence, the subject of the sentence is usually not mentioned as it would be in active voice.  Thus we see things like "being controlled" and "being allowed", phrases that shift focus on the receiver of the "allowing" and "controlling" as opposed to the initiator of the action.  If the initiator were made manifest, then most would see plainly the intentions of the Maradiagas of the world and rightfully reject them.

By the way - if Maradiaga wants an image of a powerful person wantonly playing golf while people to whom he answers are suffering, I direct his attention to the picture at right.  The Messiah Most Miserable has taken copious golf trips paid by the taxpayers of this country, many of whom are financially strapped owing to his draconian taxes, etc.  When will Maradiaga rebuke him?  The answer is "never" for he and Obama are of the same mind in all too many respects.

Cuban Refuge: I Am A Catholic Without A Pope

A few days ago I commented about the US-Cuban disaster that was brokered in part by Pope Francis.  Some of that deal's most vociferous opponents are Cuban refuges.  A Cuban gentleman in Florida, who was a political prisoner of the Castro regime for 16 years reacted to the deal by stating "I'm Still  Catholic till the day I die, but I am a Catholic without a pope."

Miami Archbishop Thomas Wenski chided these Catholics by saying "you can't build a future on top of resentments."  May I suggest that those Catholics whose concerns are dismissed by this bishop are not so much resentful, but knowledgeable?  They know the evils of which the Castros are capable for they have lived through it.

Would someone please point me to one single concession for human rights to which the Castros agreed as part of this shyster deal?  All I see is opportunities for some American businesses - with US money lining the pockets of the slave-drivers over there.  The only thing I see being fostered is the enrichment of the communist thugs.

That this pope helped foster this dismal arrangement is a disgrace and a slap in the face to the Cubans who suffer and continue to suffer because of socialism and communism.

Is The Vatican Shilling For Illegal Immigrants?

Last Thursday many of us watched the Messiah Most Miserable spit upon the United States Constitution as he attempted to usurp legislative powers to grant amnesty to illegal aliens in this country.  It is not my purpose to analyze the sludge that oozed from his mouth but to dwell on a concurrent event.

That event is the World Congress on the Pastoral Care of Migrants.  I believe it started November 19th.  Am I the only one who thinks it to be quite a coincidence that this meeting is concurrent with Obama's nonsense?

Let's take a gander at some of the Pope's remarks during this Congress; "When encountering migrants, it is important to adopt an integrated perspective, capable of valuing their potential rather than seeing them only as a problem to be confronted and resolved. The authentic right to development regards every person and all people, viewed integrally. This demands that all people be guaranteed a minimal level of participation in the life of the human community. How much more necessary must this be in the case of the Christian community, where no one is a stranger and, therefore, everyone is worthy of being welcomed and supported”  I agree - when the immigrants come here legally.  If not, they are disrespecting our laws.  If they come here illegally, they are the ones who make themselves strangers.  Again - notice that we see no distinction between law-abiding immigrants and those who flout our rule of law?  I find that lack of distinction, particularly among progressive Catholics, to be patently dishonest.

Earlier in the address he said that the Church "is a mother without limits and without borders".  Well, ok - but the Church is not a nation in the political and temporal sense.  I certainly hope that no one tries to draw a false analogy and try to adapt that principle to nations.

As I said, I don't think the timing of these two events "just happened".  Most likely the White House glommed onto this Congress since the latter would have required a long time to plan.  But I certainly expect to see more cooperation, uh, "coincidences" in the future.

Obama Says He Can Do Whatever He Wants

He made that quip at Monticello two days ago, while showing the sights to France's president Hollande.  Before we get all outraged about this arrogance, we might be able to see his point.  He has no real opposition in Congress.  Any illusions to the contrary have been soundly obliterated these past few days as a result of the debt ceiling vote.  Let's face it; the RINO leadership, starting with John Boehner and Mitch McConnell, showed themselves to be spineless, sniveling wimps.

This past Tuesday, Boehner allowed the debt ceiling vote to proceed in the House.  He attached no requirements for spending cuts whatsoever.  Moreover, he joined in the vote for the passage of that reckless measure.  Typically the Speaker of the House does not cast a vote - but he did, to ensure its passage.  The measure passed, with 28 Republicans voting for it.  Here is the list of the GOP who voted for it.  I am most disappointed that Chris Smith of New Jersey saw fit to lower himself on Tuesday.

It then went to the Senate.  Ted Cruz attempted a filibuster, but Mitch McConnell cut Cruz off at the knees.  He then went on to vote against it: as though that duplicity will go unnoticed.

So now we understand that Obama's quip, while arrogant, is not without basis.  As long as the RINO establishment is allowed to reign, there will be no true "checks and balances" as was envisioned by the Founding Fathers.

On The Bandwagon To Attack Syria

Don't these two men have any principles whatsoever?  They are going to help plunge the United States into a
foolhardy military strike.  We have reason to suspect that it is the Syrian rebels who murdered their countrymen, not the Syrian government.  Moreover we have no clear-cut objectives, save to avenge the crossing of some "red line".  These two men are proving themselves to be an utter disaster for this country.

What's that?  You think I'm bashing Obama and Biden again?  Such confusion is quite understandable, but on this occasion, those two (incompetent though they are) are not the cause of my displeasure.  I speak of John Boehner, the Speaker of the House and Eric Cantor, the House Majority Leader.  They are following lock-step behind the Messiah Most Miserable.

Of course we have the usual gang of suspects lining up like mice behind that pied piper called Obama: John Kerry (who won't be tossing any medals over the fence on this occasion), John McCain, Nancy Pelosi et al.  No surprise there.  But Boehner and Cantor?  Truth be told, I anticipated the House Weeper displaying his spine of linguine but still held some vague hope that he might actually display some mettle.  Nope!  Well, come 2014, Boehner and Cantor have got to go.  They have sold their country down the river just a few times too often.

Egads!! No Teleprompter!!!

Civilization as we know it almost came to a screeching halt last week as the Messiah Most Miserable attempted to utter a coherent sentence with neither his teleprompter nor prepared speech to put the words in his mouth.  Clearly he was miffed and we can only wonder what happened to the hapless staff member(s) afterwards.  So there you have it - the Leader of the Free (?) World, unable to utter anything intelligent without his crutches.

Kathleen Sebelius - "Third Graders May As Well Drop Out"

What is with these pro-abortion katholyc politicians?  Truly they are Obama's Minions Most Mindless.  Kathleen Sebelius (you know, the Tiller-Carhart fan who turned her back on that 10-year old girl a few weeks ago) is telling the country that children who don't get pre-kindergarten education "may as well drop out by third grade".  She let loose with that stinker while shilling for the Messiah Most Miserable's proposed $75 billion effort to increase pre-kindergarten education.

According to the Messiah Most Miserable, just when would this "education" ideally start?  At birth - that's right!  Birth!  That last link comes right from the White House (third paragraph).  So does the brainwashing education begin before or after the umbilical cord is cut?  May we safely assume that those who fall prey to Gosnellian scissors are among those who "may as well drop out" anyway?

May I humbly offer some modest suggestions to improve education in these United States?

• Abolish the Department of Education; that would greatly aid in eradicating the poison of humanism from curricula.
• Remove the National Education Association and all local chapters from schools.
• Fire all teachers and officials who wax ballistic over the mere talk of guns, and who inflict real bullying on children for biting pastries into gun-shapes.
• Throw Common Core into the trash where it belongs.
• Teach real language skills: reading, grammar, spelling, composition - and in English
• The above list is by no means exhaustive.

Of course, if you can home-school, please do so.  Kathleen Sebelius, who has spent much of her early career running interference for various abortionists and baby-killers has absolutely no credibility whatsoever to suggest that parents surrender their children to the brainwashing machinations of an increasingly fascist government.

I Agree With Obama!

Did anyone ever, ever think they'd see me utter those four words?  Well, temperatures must have plummeted in certain warm subterranean areas for today the Messiah Most Miserable pronounced words that brought at least a moment of joy to every decent, sane human being.  The miracle occurred during a press conference today when questioned about the failure of his administration.  Granted, he spoke in a whiny snit-fit but still those words were music to our tired ears.  Hear it for yourselves and relish it!



Glory - hallelujah!  Will miracles ever cease???  His first utterance of decency and common sense during his entire political career were the words, "maybe I should just pack up and go home."  I can only reply "AMEN!"

What's that?  He was just joshing?  Oh well, we can dream, can we not?  And let's not forget that the fact that the words came out of his mouth indicates that the idea may well be percolating in that socialist brain of his.  Maybe we had better start that collection to cover his moving expenses, after all!

From The "Audacity Of Dopes" Department

This past Thursday evening Obama was slated to be the main speaker at a Planned Parenthood gala in Washington DC.  Prolifers raised a protest.  A glimmer of common sense must have crossed the Messianic teleprompter for he canceled his appearance.  Alas, that glimmer didn't last too long for he did speak at a Planned Parenthood event this morning.  Hey!  Even faux-messiahs know what side of the bread slice bears the butter!  Even he must do obeisance to his money-bags and sugar-daddies!

The Tyranny Of Sentimentality Leads To Sacrilege

I speak of the spiritual poison that seems to be intoxicating Christians and even Catholics in the wake of the Boston bomb explosions.  On Facebook Monday night, on the wall of an otherwise common-sense person, appeared this evidence of muddied thought:

"Tonight, we as a nation begin the healing process. Tonight, we remember the one thing that brings us all together. Tonight, we are not Democrats or Republicans. We are not liberals or conservatives. We are not pro-choicers or pro-lifers. We are not for or against anything. Tonight, we are Americans."  (italics mine)

I have to give credit where credit is due.  Rachel Maddow certainly defied the rest of the progressive lemming-pack of mainstream media to report on the FEMA camps.  By the way - as you watch this, recall the previous post - particularly that last bullet point detailing how some in the military see those of us who hold to God and His values.

Great Minds Think Alike, Don't They??

Several weeks ago, the Messiah Most Miserable, Barack Obama, stated his intentions to shift focus to "immigration and gun control" according to the left-wing shill-mouthpiece known as the Washington Post.  So what's the big deal about that, one might wonder?  These are just typical progressive talking points.  True enough - but who is echoing him?

Why, it's none other than Cardinal McCarrick, Washington's archbishop emeritus!  He has stated that the Church will push for "immigration and gun control".   He says of the nation's bishops that once a bill for immigration is introduced, "you'll see how active they'll (bishops) be."  I'm sure that both he and Obama hope the bishops will be more "active" than they've been with adherence to Canon 915.  Come to think of it, maybe some bishops have been "too active" in the wrong direction, but I digress!

Isn't it just the most amazing coincidence that both these men are touting the same thing?  What a miracle!  It's almost like one is taking cues from the other - and we can guess the direction of the talking-point flow now, can't we?

By the way - in the same interview, Cardinal McCarrick had some interesting things to say about Pope Francis.  He believes the Pope will show more emphasis on "global climate change" (another progressive cause-celebre) because he took the name of Francis who (and I quote the cardinal) "is associated with the adoration of nature".  I hope for the cardinal's sake that this was a misquote for only God is to be adored - no one or nothing else.  Otherwise we might have to wonder if this was a Freudian slip on the part of His Eminence.

In all seriousness, no faithful Catholic need feel him/herself obliged to follow the lead on any prelate regarding matters of prudential judgment.  In fact, given the murky influences emanating from the USCCB, one should take their proclamations with copious grains of salt.

Dr Ben Carson At The Prayer Breakfast

Listen carefully to Doctor Carson.  He speaks truth to many things: political correctness, value of education, importance of parents to children.  Notice how uncomfortable Obama seems, as he withholds applause when the rest of the audience applauds.  Then as Carson starts speaking of ancient Rome as a warning to the US (at 17:24), I detect a bit of a "presidential glare".  At 21:28, when Dr Carson starts extolling health savings accounts, Obama looks positively glum!  At about 24:22 the clip is accelerated a few seconds; I don't know why.

In many ways, this is reminiscent of the 1994 Prayer Breakfast when Mother Teresa told the audience, including then-president Bill Clinton that "the greatest destroyer of peace is abortion".

Obama The Messiah??

Some of my readers have gotten their undies in a knot when I refer to Barack HUSSEIN Obama as the Messiah Most Miserable.  I don't give a rat's rump, especially when some are calling him "lord and savior".  I speak of Jamie Foxx.  My friend at Les Femmes is quite correct in calling this a sin against the First Commandment.  God have mercy on him.

The Needed Catholic Response To The HHS Mandate

Four years ago, the Vatican issued congratulations to the Messiah Most Miserable upon his election.  This week their enthusiasm was greatly reduced, as evidenced in this Catholic News Service release, stating what Obama should do "if he truly wants to be the president of all Americans."

Dr Gerard Nadal, in Catholic Lane, published an article entitled "Obama's Election Mandate and Ours".  Dr Nadal voices profound disappointment (which I share) at overly-conciliatory remarks made by Speaker of the House John Boehner.  The House of Representatives holds the national purse strings, per the US Constitution.  The HHS mandate could be stalled, or at least slowed down, if the House does its duty.  Will the GOP House Republicans find the backbone to do so?

Finally, Father John Hollowell of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis wrote an article entitled "Election Reflection for Warrior Catholics".  It's an excellent read.  We are, after all, the Church Militant.
