This afternoon Bishop Roger Foys of the Diocese of Covington finally issued an official apology for throwing the boys under the bus at the behest of the leftie hyenas. While a tad weak, the words "I apologize" appear therein. I regret that is more than the March for Life leadership has done to date (no doubt causing Nellie Gray to spin in her grave). The apology and some analysis can be found on LifeSiteNews and elsewhere. Archbishop Kurtz of Louisville has followed suit and also apologized on his blog. So too did the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
My colleague at Les Femmes advises us that some high profile lawyers, acting on behalf of the students, are planning lawsuits against some of the barbarians who issued slander, libel and even threats against the boys. I for one hope and pray that they are successful beyond their dreams. That said, there exists the very real possibility that these three Catholic dioceses issued apologies to escape being targets for legal action; I wouldn't be surprised if that is the case. At least something gave them cause for pause. One Kentucky bishop, John Stowe of Lexington, continues to pile on the boys. Lepanto Institute reveals that Stowe embraces just about all things heretical. Perhaps the less-than-good bishop will find himself in legal cross hairs.
While I've no doubt that these prelates might well fear more lawsuits, we cannot discount the role that faithful Catholics all over the nation have played in this. I'm sure many readers have joined in calling and/or emailing these dioceses to voice your displeasure. Moreover, in Kentucky some have no doubt informed their prelates of their intentions to reduce or suspend any future donations. Your voices, each and every one of yours', have played a pivotal role. You probably heard of this atrocity over various blogs, facebook, etc - in short, through outlets that are independent of mainstream media.
However, there are Catholics who, for whatever reason, are encouraging us to eschew social media, claiming that "it doesn't matter what we say". I have seen this mainly on facebook and have captured screenshots of those jaded sentiments. The key player in this knows who he is, and may well be reading this post. If I continue to see any more attempts to get us to stifle our voices, even if you believe your reasons to be spiritual and noble, I can promise you that you will be vociferously and publicly opposed. If there is one thing for which I commend the left, it is their astute use of social media. We are just starting to learn its power. What a sin it would be for us to abandon this tool - and yes, I do mean to use the word "sin" in all its aspects. It has proven to be of benefit to the Covington boys and I for one will take issue if other Catholics mistakenly deny their voices to these young men.

Keep Speaking The Truth - Even If You're Tired Of Doing So
As you read this, you may rest assured that I speak to myself as well as you.
I won't say too much on this matter for Mundabor has already spoken well of this topic. Some are becoming discouraged from speaking the truth, particularly about the pope, for they believe they are accomplishing nothing. The person to whom Mundabor refers is one such individual. While folks understand the problems coming from the Vatican, they are allowing themselves to become jaded and to retreat in silence. With all due respect, this is unacceptable.
I will echo Mundabor's exhortation not to abandon the public forum - be they in your social/work circles or on social media. Your comments do matter! It is well worth the effort to type your thoughts into the com-boxes! If you have forsaken social media (such as facebook, twitter, etc) as tools for proclaiming the truth of Jesus and His Holy Roman Catholic Church, return post haste!

From The Maturation Department: Dolan Tries To Discredit Voices Of Truth
At the USCCB meeting last week, Cardinal Dolan apparently voiced a snit over the fact that the truth about the SinNod was promulgated far and wide. Without realizing it, he gave a back-handed compliment to the independent media who were at the Vatican, those of us utilizing electronic media to spread the word and yes, to the synod fathers who were courageous and clear-minded enough to blow the cover off the shenanigans that Kasper and yes, the Pope, tried to conduct.
In today's Vortex, Michael Voris picks apart Dolan's screed bit by bit. A question he keeps asking is
Now is Dolan simply trying to intimidate us into silence, to cow us into submission before next year's scheduled debacle? Well, yes, but I believe it's part of an orchestrated effort. Recall that as the SinNod closed last month, the Holy Father said we had a year to "mature" before the ordinary SinNod convenes next October. I believe Dolan's pouting is nothing more than a part of the maturation campaign. After all, a month has elapsed already! It's time for the progressives to get the rest of usbrainwashed matured! We gotta get with the program! Not!

Obama: Drat That Social Meda!
The Messiah Most Miserable has released his latest We have ISIS/ISIL and other terrorists shedding blood right and left in the mid-east, uncontrolled floods of illegals crossing our southern border (funny how that's dropped off the radar!), unemployment and cost of living ever rising, etc. But according to His Nibs, it's really not that bad! We just think it's that bad; it's all in our imaginations! He said, "the world's always messy...we're just noticing now in part because of social media". Two things immediately come to mind
- I cannot think of when we had whole-scale murder of Christians and Jews in the mid-east before. Perhaps during the reign of Adolf Hitler we had barbarity akin to what's going on and some isolated incidents between then and now, but the world hasn't "been messy" like that on this scale.
- He admits that many are now just noticing because of social media. In doing so, he acknowledges the conspiracy of silence in which so many in the mainstream media are participating. They do so to protect Obama's image (as much as it can be, as more and more that effort becomes an exercise in futility).
I am honored to be part of that big, bad "social media" that is popping Obama's fantasy balloons whenever possible. All we do is speak the truth. If he can't deal with that without sniveling and pouting, perhaps he should resign and head off to his favorite golf course for good!
I would be remiss if I didn't point out the more ominous aspect of Obama's little rant. Might this be a prelude to attempts to stifle our First Amendment rights? Let's keep an eye on this.

Why Social Media Will Be Crucial Towards Restoration Of The Church
Yesterday's Vortex details the story of how an American in Australia, Nina Jurawicz (herself a Harvard alumnus) kick-started the protest against the Harvard black mass. Through intelligent use of Facebook, she mobilized the petitions and Eucharistic procession and Holy Hour that finally impelled Harvard to eject the black mass from its campus.
Ladies and gentlemen, if you are reading this blog, you are at least acquainted with the potential that this form of instantaneous communication holds. I'm aware that some of you may hold social media in disdain. I strongly suggest that you take any knee-jerk repugnance towards this "newfangled stuff" and banish it to the netherworld from which it originated. Then decide that you will become proficient at the use of social media with no excuses for failure. Be inspired by this story and be motivated to use all the tools that God has placed at our disposal.

ProlifeCon Conference Today
The Family Research Council hosted earlier today a conference on how pro-lifers MUST avail themselves of the tools that God has placed at our disposal in the 21st Century. This video below is the entire morning session. After starting it, you may wish to pause it to allow it to buffer onto your machine. Click here if you can't see embedded video.
