Nine Faithful Persecuted Priests Tell What They've Experienced

It's no secret that good faithful priests are being actively persecuted by their corrupt, compromised bishops.  Why?  Because the fidelity of these priests exposes to the world the lack of faith of their prelates for all the world to behold.

Michael Voris of Church Militant recently brought together nine priests whose plights were put in the public eye.  In this interview, one gets a first-hand glimpse into the evil machinations that occur in quite a few chanceries, including that of my home diocese.  I urge one and all to watch the entire thing and to spread this far and wide.  Not only will such promulgation be educational, but it just might help protect these men.  If prelates understand that the future of these priests is in the public eye, they might - just might - be careful about exacting vengeance on them.  Cockroaches hate the light.

Diocese Of St Augustine Trips All Over Itself In Denials

Thanks to modern technology, the Diocese of St Augustine has been caught in their own snares and wiles as they try to disavow knowledge of McCarrick's presence.  Notice here an updated  statement from the diocese on the matter.  I saw the original and regret not copying it, where they do bad-mouth Church Militant for allegedly not having their reporter contact them.  CM did in fact do so, and the exchange was recorded and that is posted below.  Below that is an account in today's Vortex.  Again, Mr. Weigel, this is why we are needed.

On The Amazon Synod Horizon: Fake Women Priests, Paganism And Infanticide

Below I post a talk given by Michael Hichborn about an hour ago in which he comments about the damage to the Church being wreaked by the pope and his cronies via the Amazon Synod.  I'll have more information and another video below that.



Hichborn made mention of an interview that Edward Pentin conducted with Bishop Erwin Krautler.  The latter is a key synod figure and is unabashedly in favor of women priests.  He states that one reason is to bring the Sacraments to indigenous peoples.  Of course that is pure fantasy.  The Church simply hasn't the authority to ordain women as the Lord Himself ordained only men.  If there was any such attempt to ordain women, both the women and miscreant "ordaining" bishop would incur immediate excommunication.  Moreover, any "sacraments" attempted by these women would be completely invalid.  Any "mass" would simply be a sham and not valid at all.  No remission of sins would occur in any fake "confession" in which they might engage.  Rather than serve the people, these false "priests" would be engaging in a cruel joke on those poor people, assuming they were so poorly catechized that they didn't know the idea of "women priests" is completely bogus.

Now below I'll post a Vortex showing the ties of some South American synod "fathers" with tribal infanticide.  Apparently in the Brazilian Parliament, a law is being debated that will ban infanticide among indigenous tribes.  The liberals among them are claiming that the indigenous peoples cannot be told to abandon "cultural practices".  That such a matter has to be debated only shows the depths of depravity to which western society has sunk.  The Brazilian Catholic Conference has ties to a leading proponent of infanticide.  These national "catholic conferences" really need to be trashed, but I digress.

Now remember - this is a synod about "listening" and "dialoging" and "learning from their wisdom".  So they are going to teach us imperialistic first-world westerners that burying children alive is okie-dokie with "mother earth"?  Of course I can see how Planned Parenthood, NARAL and other outfits might be down with that - but Catholic clergy?

A word of warning - the Vortex does show snippets of the child murders being committed, so be prepared.

James Grein Speaks With Michael Voris Regarding His Abuse At The Hands Of McCarrick

Here we see a snippet of a conversation between Michael Voris and James Grein.  The latter suffered abuse at the hands of McCarrick over decades.  His testimony was crucial in helping rid the priesthood of McCarrick.

Grein offers an exhortation to others who have likewise been molested not only by McCarrick but also other pervert priests.  He calls on them to step up and speak out.  I echo his call.  Yes, it could well be difficult, no it really isn't "fair" that you should have to speak out - but so what?  Was it "fair" that Jesus Christ, the sinless Son of God, suffered a brutal death on our behalf?   Your testimony could help bring these perverts to justice, clean up the general rot and corruption in the Church, AND to prevent any others from falling victim to these scoundrels.

Silence In The Face Of Errors - Even The Pope's - Means Culpability In Those Errors

In the June 15th edition of the Vortex, Michael Voris addresses the prelates who are more orthodox in comparison with some of their more progressive brethren.  He challenges them on their silence in regards to the homosexual poison that permeates Church life.  He prefaced the video by saying that it could put some noses out of joint but it had to be done.

While I stand in agreement with the content of that video, I now have a proposition for the CM staff.  I realize that it could cause them some heartburn, but so be it.  I'd propose that they take the transcript of that video and make some substitutions as they recite it to themselves in a mirror.   They could ask themselves why they are so silent about the role that Pope Francis has had in fostering the de facto implosion of the Church on so many fronts.  I recall mentioning that there was some awakening when they acknowledged that Pope Francis' words to Juan Carlos Cruz were harmful, but shortly thereafter they backpedaled by suggesting that the pope didn't utter those words.  As Voris asked the bishops if they feared losing friendships, etc, they might ask themselves what they might fear losing if they face the "elephant in the living room" that is the pope's undeniable culpability in the Church's situation.  Could it be certain donors?

I truly hope all faithful Catholics set aside their fears of this, that or the other and call out the errors, no matter from whom they emanate.

Pope Francis Owns The Gay Problem In The Church

Of course he didn't start it, for flaming gays were in high places of Church power long before Cardinal Bergoglio ascended the papal throne.  However, he has not so much failed to make any headway with the problem as much as he has acted to further ensconce them within positions of Church influence.  Two weeks ago his latest pro-sodomy dissidence was spoken to Juan Carlos Cruz when the pope told Cruz "God made you that way.."

This blog and others have listed the myriad ways that the pope has given green lights to gays and their enablers.  Two of the most egregious are:

• Appointing dissident Father James Martin S.J. to the Vatican Communication Office
• Allowing Cardinal Timothy Dolan to continue to harbor gays in the Archdiocese of New York

Two weeks ago, Michael Voris, in his Vortex, excoriated all this gay-pandering.  Please listen very closely to it.  In it, he acknowledges the pope's horrible error and admits no doubt that the blasphemy escaped the pope's lips.  Voris went so far as to offer a rebuke to both the Cardinal and the Pope.  He was right to do so.

In yesterday's Vortex, though, he backpeddled a bit when he attempted to cast doubt as to whether or not the pope uttered the blasphemy.  

• He states that "no member of the hierarchy has said anything about it", with "it" being the pope's words as related by Cruz.  Well, doesn't the "hierarchy" include the pope?  And why haven't they cleared any misunderstanding?  Such would be their duty, to mitigate any confusion to the faithful.
• He points out that Father James Martin has become "the waterboy for the advancing of the gay agenda".  True enough; I already mentioned his Vatican appointment above, and there's more that will be detailed in the following paragraphs.

I linked to the article as opposed to merely posting the video for I think the comments below are most instructive for the way they articulate the pope's responsibility for this debacle.  I myself would have commented; however, for similar comments that I made in previous articles, I've been banned from commenting on the CM website.  Voris tried to chide them saying that they're "going back to Catholic cool to slam the pope".  I commend the others for their polite, firm, and educated responses to that childishness.  Should those comments be pulled, I've saved screenshots.

As promised, I'll give the latest news regarding Father Martin, courtesy of Rorate Caeli.  The World Meeting of Families will be held in Dublin, Ireland on August 21-24, 2018.  Guess who's been invited to speak?  Yes, and he claims that the invitation was extended by both the Archdiocese of Dublin and the Vatican.  I've no reason to doubt his account.  News of this came after the release of yesterday's vortex.  This is just the latest of the pope's smooch-ups to gays; there will be more soon enough, I'm sure.

I've rehearsed these old problems because tomorrow Church Militant will host a webinar called "Catholic and Gay".  It will ostensibly instruct the faithful Catholic in how to combat the gay infestation in the Church.  I've no doubt that many good points and suggestions will be made in that regard.  However, if Church Militant continues to side-step the proverbial "elephant in the living room" regarding the pope's own fostering of gays within the Church, the information they present will be woefully incomplete.  The same goes for those who still refuse to acknowledge the objective harm caused by this pope; their efforts to improve the church will be stymied.  It's time for them - including Church Militant - to admit the truth so it can be addressed.

Rome Life Forum On May 17-18

The Rome Life Forum was founded by LifeSiteNews and is now carried on by Voice of the Family.  Their meeting this year will focus on combating modernism within the Church.  Yes, modernism is found at all levels of the Church and has even emanated from Pope Francis himself.

If one is still inclined to pretend that modernism is no problem, please reflect upon the murder of Alfie Evans, sanctioned by most of the UK Catholic bishops.  Think of Katy Perry being invited by the Vatican to sing the praises of transcendental meditation.  I spoke a bit yesterday of "cooperation with mortal sin" being itself a mortal sin.  The Vatican provided a forum for the commission of mortal sin against the First Commandment.  Throw into the mix the sins of blasphemy and sacrilege and we can see that those who invited Perry and/or allowed her to pollute a Church event are guilty themselves of grave sins. That's modernism for you.

The prime mission of the Church, as defined by Jesus Christ Himself, is the salvation of souls.  That CURA conference had nothing to do with that, and even appears to have caused scandal to souls.  Likewise the prattlings of the the US bishops.  Jihad Watch tells us that they submitted a brief to the US Supreme Court claiming that President Trump's travel ban is "blatant religious discrimination".  We do well to remember that the US bishops have a vested financial interest in securing the largest immigrant population possible.

The Vortex that I'm going to post below details how many dioceses are experiencing the effects of all this modernism and loss of faith.  Many are engaged in silly marketing campaigns.  Perhaps they need to listen to Archbishop Sample's homily from the Pontifical High Mass this past Sunday at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.  They don't need cheap gimmicks.  All they need to do is to present the real Catholic faith.  Of course that entails that they believe the Faith and repent of their dalliances with modernism.  By the way - when I speak of "cheap gimmicks" I also refer to the regrettable tendency of clerics and religious orders to carry on like silly buffoons in a misguided attempt to "reach the youth where they are".  Again, young people, indeed all people, need to see the Faith lived out in all its splendor and dignity.

The Progressive Demolition Of Sacred Tradition Carries On

Today's Vortex discusses the "fruits" of Vatican II, explaining why it was largely an abysmal failure, noble intentions of council fathers notwithstanding.



Notice what Voris says about the real problems that did exist before Vatican II: problems that some prelates did try to address before the Masons and progressives hijacked the council.  Those problems (particularly the progressive infiltration of the seminaries) are probably why the faith of so many Catholics collapsed liked a house of cards when the modernist mutations of Mass, education, etc were trotted out.

Vatican II was simply one phase of the planned demolition of Sacred Tradition in the lives of so many.  This papacy is simply one of the current phases of the same planned wreckage.  Below is the World Over, where the latest plop is discussed.  Hmm.. We need a name for it.  I've seen Gaudete Insulte.  We might also do Gaudy Excoriate.  But I digress.



Notice what they say about the dangers posed by this plethora of "synods".  I've stated my theory before and will restate it.  I believe these synods are nothing more than elaborate smoke screens, a way to advance heretical ideas under the guise of "collegiality", "accompaniment", you name it.  They are meant to produce writings as nefarious as is Amoris Laetitia.  In fact, I believe these encyclicals are already written and that their promulgation is simply awaiting the dog-and-pony show of their "synod" fronts.

USCCB = Unscrupulous Syndicate of Cash-Craving Bishops

In this Vortex, Michael Voris misspeaks when he describes "dreamers" as "children born in America to illegal aliens".  In fact, the "dreamers" themselves were born in their native countries and brought here by their parents as they crossed our borders illegally.  They are not "anchor babies".  Also, Bishop Paprocki didn't so much urge Dick Durbin not to present himself for Holy Communion.  While the bishop did that in the past, he recently instructed his priests that they are not to administer Holy Communion to him.  Durbin refused to obey Canon 916, so now Bishop Paprocki is  implementing Canon 915.

All in all though, Voris did an excellent job in summarizing how the USCCB is on the Democrats' financial leash.  Consider the disgusting attack staged by the Texas Catholic Conference against Texas Right to Life. I believe the Texas bishops were simply pandering to their progressive sugar daddies when they hurled their long knives at Texas Right to Life; see here and here.  Recall the millions that some of the Texas Catholic Charities offices received to "settle immigrants".  Consider that as Voris comments about all this "concern" that the USCCB has for illegals.

By the way - Voris made mention of the Catholic Relief Services.  The CRS is conducting its "rice bowl" campaign during Lent.  Here is a way that you can "do operation rice bowl" in a most productive and educational manner.

What The Hell Is Going On At Church Militant TV???

Several of us have commented on the Vortex cited in my post yesterday.  We have found our comments removed.  My blogging colleague at Connecticut Catholic Corner is one of them - us.  Please read her account.  My one tiny disagreement with Julie is that I think the behavior of Church Militant personnel - particularly those on the comment page - portend something far more ominous.  Rather than "laugh and let it go" I think some of the stench there needs to be exposed, as many good people are contributing to CM's "premium" program.  They deserve to know what they are supporting.

Before I commence, I'd like to extend an invitation to those others who have also found their comments deleted by the moderator of that page.  You may post your comments here - provided, of course, that they are respectful and in accordance with the Magisterium of the Church.

One hardly knows where to begin so I'll start with the little scolding tossed in my face by the moderator.  If one goes to that comment page, you can find this original posting. (Note - if these pictures are too small, just click on them and larger images will appear in their own windows.)

First, I notice that the moderator has adopted the same condescending attitude towards faithful Catholics evinced on one of the first Vortexes in which Voris castigated his colleagues for questioning the doings and sayings of Pope Francis.  In reading this, one might think their readership is comprised of delicate snowflakes similar to those on college campuses who scurried for "safe places" after seeing Trump's name chalked on sidewalks.

Ironically the condescension is applied to Festus, for for according to the moderator, he wouldn't have "succumbed to the temptation to respond".  Is the moderator saying that Festus does not have the intellectual and spiritual fortitude to control himself?  Well, given what Festus wrote on my last post, I can see from where the moderator draws his/her apprehensions, but that is the responsibility of Festus.  By the way, I don't see any similar scolding directed to Festus.  Does anyone else?


But there are some other comments that make me wonder whether or not Festus might be a CM insider.  Here's one:

Why, oh why, would Festus "have to say that"?  Where does that come from????

Here's another.  As I read this, it appears that Festus speaks rather authoritatively regarding the Download and its features and purposes.  I could very well be incorrect about this, but Festus appears to be quite familiar with the Download; his tone speaks of someone who is "in the know".

As I said earlier, my comments on that vortex were deleted.  Ostensibly what can get comments deleted are if they contain criticisms of the pope.  Apparently that's not the only criteria for deletion.  I can only suppose deletion can happen simply due to the caprices of the moderator.  How else do we explain the following?

Here is a discussion during which Festus trash-talked LifeSiteNews, Voice of the Family, Rorate Caeli.  You'll notice in the middle of this picture a notation advising that a comment was deleted.  It was mine.  I have my deleted comment posted below the discussion.

You'll notice that my comment had no mention whatsoever of the pope.  Therefore it cannot be said that the comment was in anyway critical of the pope.  So why was it removed?  Is it because I called out Festus for his slander of the other sites?  For the record, I believe that LifeSiteNews and Voice of the Family did a yeoman's job of unpacking the messes known as Laudato Si and Amoris Laetetia.  But getting back to why my comment was removed, and not Festus' slanderous one, is it because I rightly rebuked their buddy?

There's more where all that came from, but I don't want this post to get too long.  I'll close this one with a comment that Festus sent to me last evening.  I alluded to it this morning as I replied to what Festus left on my post last evening.  Here it is...
"Is that what you told the Nuncio when he tried to navigate your blog to get the details together?
No, you didn't even do him that courtesy - you just gave in a link to your home page and suggest that he trawl through your blog to find the relevant details. Presumably while doing that he found what you were saying about the Pope. Have you considered tha t perhaps you and your blogger friends might have had something to do with what happened the priest?  As you say it was "after" you and your blogger friends pubished dirt and no doubt publically castigating those who issued an apology to Ms Johnson that more serious charges were raised.  When I do a search on key words blogger does not allow me to control the order in which the posts appear"Do you know what that is? That is a bad workman blaming his tools.  I don't need to discredit you. Your sloppy blog is more than adequate for that job."

Does this sound like a rational person engaging in calm and reasonable discourse or the rantings of someone who has some very serious issues?  But this is the person that the CM Moderator allows to puke all over their comment page while deleting the comments of others offering cogent thoughts (and I reiterate my invitation to them).  I pray that he is not affiliated with Church Militant TV.

As I've said before, I respect CM's right to exercise their own policies in the governance of their apostolate.  However, when they display disrespect for our policies in the governance of our apostolates, then they must be called out.  Whether or not this is the last such post that I'll write is largely up to them.

Michael Voris - Doubling Down On Denial Of Serious Papal Problems

Generally I've found Michael Voris and his Church Militant TV apostolate to be very informative and helpful through the years - particularly the Vortex series.  Regrettably though, he's evinced denial of the serious problems that Pope Francis continues to pose for the Faith.  When these episodes have presented themselves, I (and others) have seen it necessary to refute them for they are full of logical flaws.  Indeed, it is only the utilization of flawed logic that would cause one to deny evidence that repeatedly presents itself to the public.  If logical fallacies aren't the root causes of the denials, the latter might be engaged at the request of a donor.  It's one or the other; I don't know which.  At any rate, see here, here, here, here, here

As I did in most of those previous posts, I'm going to analyze the lack of logic posed in this Vortex.  I may not necessarily go in the same order as the script of this Vortex.

• In the first paragraph, Voris acknowledges the problematic and even harmful nature of the pope's repeated erroneous remarks.  As he states, a blind person can see the glaring problems.
• In the second paragraph, his train of thought starts to jump the rails.  He talks of this "industry of blasting the pope for his confusing conflicting statements".  Industry?  First, we are kept busy addressing the confusing statements, but that's because they issue from his mouth non-stop (especially when he's aboard planes).  Second, let's be clear that "addressing the confusing statements" is NOT equivalent to "blasting the pope".  I truly believe that a donor is feeding this script to Voris.  Then he talks of a notion that "everything that's wrong in the Church can be solved by the pope".  That's not a correct picture of the papacy at all.  He does have the sacred charge of safeguarding the deposit of faith.  Unfortunately these "conflicting statements" have had the effect of endangering the deposit of faith.  Is it too much to ask that the pope not pose a danger to the faith?

The canonization process for Archbishop Fulton Sheen is at a point where his body needs to be moved back to his place of birth, but Cardinal Dolan is petulantly refusing to release it.  I've written about the many ways he has insulted and injured both the Faith and the Catholics entrusted to his care.

Michael Voris Discloses Past Sins, Forestalls Archdiocese Of New York Scandalmongering

Yesterday Michael Voris released a Vortex in which he laid bare some details of past sins before his return to the Faith.  While he asked for our forgiveness for not being forthcoming earlier, I believe that requires no forgiveness for it was no wrongdoing on his part to be silent on that matter.  He dealt properly with those sins within the Sacrament of Confession.  That was all that was needed to restore him to a state of spiritual life and sanctifying grace.  He was under no moral obligation whatsoever to reveal his past sins anymore than any other Catholic would be.

He apparently revealed what he did because he had reason to believe that persons within the Archdiocese of New York were planning to leak these details in an effort to discredit him and his apostolate.  The last time I checked, that was known as the sin of detraction.

I just read a comment on another blog in which the writer of that comment warned that Voris better have good evidence of that.  Being an investigative reporter himself, I'm sure Voris understands the necessity for solid evidence.  However, we all know there is demonstrated precedence that supports any suspicion that the Archdiocese of New York is capable of such thuggish behavior.  Please recall the treatment that the Archdiocese of New York meted out to Father Justin Wylee; for a memory-refresher, see here.   More of Dolan's chicaneries can be found here.  Some are so egregious that New York Catholics filed suit against him.  If one thinks Cardinal Dolan wouldn't stoop to dredging old sins against Voris, I'd suggest they think again.

What Michael Voris did yesterday took quite a bit of courage.  Not too many people would want their mortal sins being made public; I sure wouldn't.  I was particularly struck by his faith and gratitude to God and His Church for Sacramental Grace won by the Cross of Christ.  Let us pray that this move does knock the wind out of New York sails and that Church Militant continues its work.

Laity! It's Way Past Time To Resist!

Today the Vortex published an interview with His Excellency Bishop Rene Gracida, Bishop Emeritus of Corpus Christi.  The main theme of this interview is the need for the laity (meaning most of us) to rise up to save our Church.  As an historical example, he mentions the ancient Christians shouting down Arius as he uttered heresy from the pulpit (stating Jesus isn't divine).

What caught my ear immediately at the 5:28 mark was the bishop's declaration that it is "out and out heresy" to state that God's essential attribute is mercy, stating that this heresy was on a par with that of Arius.  Bishop Gracida outright condemns the Kasperite's claim, stating that God's main attribute is love.  His explanation was brilliant; while the Three Persons love on another, they don't have mercy on each other for mercy implies sinfulness of the recipient.

With that in mind, we must bear in mind Pope Francis' excessive focus on mercy to the expense of God's other characteristics (such as justice).  In fact, he wrote a book called "The Name of God is Mercy".  Consider all that is entailed in that whopper of a title.  To name someone or something is to exercise an authority over them; that's apparent throughout Scripture.  Adam names the animals.  A parent names a child.  So now Pope Francis names God??  Really???  I've written copiously about how the Pope seems to think that the Church has been deficient with true mercy; please read here for a review for I don't want to rehash all that in this post.

Getting back to the interview, the bishop says we need to stop "suffering in silence" (at 10:20).  We need to object - loudly.  Of course we'll create an uproar.  So what?  The late Mother Angelica stated that "if you're not a thorn in somebody's side, you aren't doing Christianity right".  I'll post the video beneath the jump break but I have more to say below that.

Forget The "Tone"; Just Tell The Truth Unabashedly

Many of us are quite aware that because of political correctness, many of our so-called places of "higher learning" are nothing more than nursery schools for overgrown toddlers.  That point was driven home as we watched the spectacle at Emory University.  Slogans favorable to Donald Trump were written in chalk in various places, causing some delicate little snowflakes (laughingly calling themselves "students") to have emotional meltdowns.  Because they saw this hated slogan (careful!  I'm going to type it!  Brace yourselves!) "Trump 2016"  (deep breaths, now!), they grabbed their security blankets and headed to their "safe environments" where they could huddle together in fear while sucking their thumbs.

The Catholic Church is no stranger to this silliness.  Those of us who speak the truth have been reviled by others as being "mean spirited" and "negative", etc.  Note that we're rarely challenged on the substance of what we say, just how we say it.  I myself have received such vitriol and thus can attest to the truth of today's Vortex.  Because it's not in youtube format (at least not yet) I'll link to their page that has the video.

Regarding the flack that I've received, I've not been one to just meekly accept the bull-crap.  Certain individuals can attest to that.  Today's Vortex inspires me - and I hope many others - to rebuke the wimps/bullies who seek to silence us and to redouble our truth-telling.

Should Jesus have softened His "tone"?

Catholics Of Archdiocese Of Baltimore - Is This Scenario Playing Out In Your Parishes?

I have written about Cardinal Dolan and his chicaneries within the Archdiocese of New York many times.  Church Militant has been at the forefront of exposing the slime and corruption within that archdiocese.  In particular, they helped shed the light on the sex-and-embezzlement case regarding Father Peter Miqueli.  This case, combined with the stonewalling by Dolan et al that parishioners received as they attempted to seek redress in accordance with canon law protocols, has caused these parishioners to resort to legal action.  I hope they prevail in court.

But it seems that the Miqueli situation is simply one tip of the iceberg.  Again, Church Militant has attempted to get clarification from the New York chancery.  Of course the chancery has engaged in their usual stonewalling.  Meanwhile an employee of the Archdiocese of New York agreed to an interview with Voris under cover of anonymity.  I present the video below.  Because the voice distortion may make some of "Bob's" remarks difficult to understand, I now link to the transcript.

As you listen to "Bob", you'll hear him remark that the New York scenario is most likely being repeated all over the country, if not the world.  With that, I ask you to review the findings regarding the de facto gay occupation that exists within the parish of St. Matthew's in Baltimore (Loch Raven Boulevard).  I have reason to suspect that indeed a very similar, if not identical situation exists within the Archdiocese of Baltimore, as evinced within the Archdiocese of New York.  I know for a fact that the revelations of the debauchery in St. Matthew's have ruffled many feathers, causing certain individuals to lash out.  At this time I am not at liberty to divulge details.

Faithful Catholics of the Archdiocese of Baltimore (and elsewhere), please keep your eyes and ears open.  There is a saying that many of us see displayed over interstates from time to time: "If you see something, say something."  Please do so.  If you get no satisfaction from official church channels, please start organizing among yourselves and take some actions, such as organized collection boycotts.  You are not helpless, especially if you stick together.  Archbishop Fulton Sheen once said that it will be up to the laity to save the Church.  That time is most likely now.

Shedding The Shackles Of Denial - Faithful Catholics Finding Their Voices

As we all know by now, the pope let loose with a statement regarding contraception that can only be classified as heresy.  This happened on one of his now-infamous plane interviews this past Thursday.  There are still Catholics who insist that the pope caused no harm.  Here are their arguments and my refutations in "bullet form".

• "less than 25% of Catholics really know what the Church teaches or even cares, what the Pope says or doesn’t say isn’t going to matter one bit" This is an actual quote from a recent exchange regarding the contraception heresy matter.  Now is this supposed to be comforting to be told that no one cares what the vicar of Christ says?  What really does that say about the crap coming from the pope's mouth?  And by the way, I hold that the world isn't entirely oblivious to papal sayings when those words tickle their ears with justifications for their mortal sins.  In that case the world is all too quick to glom onto the errors; therein lies the scandal.
• "It's becoming obvious that he doesn't fully grasp his international role, where a casual comment is elevated in importance."  While that would be nice to believe, we must realize that if he doesn't understand the gravity of the papal office then he's an absolute moron.  I might concede that point if we were talking about some 20-year old kid whose Catholic education was thoroughly dumbed down by the "spirit of Vatican II" but NOT in the case of someone who was educated before Vatican II AND who went through seminary and rose to become a cardinal.  No, Pope Francis has been "around the block" a few too many times for us to really believe that he doesn't appreciate the weight of his office.
• Then we have the folks on Facebook who sniff "if you criticize the pope I'm going to unfriend you, so there!"  Well, they can go ahead and do that if they can't handle the facts as they present themselves.

But many are waking up and smelling the coffee - and saying so publicly.  I salute them.  In an article that she wrote a few days ago, Jenn Giroux said that "this week was the straw that broke this faithful Catholic's silence".  World Net Daily's columnist Barbara Simpson weighed in, as did the blogger Non Veni Pacem who writes why he/she will no longer consider his/her anger against the pope's misdeeds as matter for confession.  LifeSiteNews has quotes from other Catholics and pro-life leaders who are rightly appalled at the pope's utterance of heresy.

Now many of you are aware that Michael Voris has, in the past, taken to task some of us who've voiced our criticisms of the pope's bloopers.  I've had to contradict him in response.  However, it seems that the heresy uttered by the pope is so blatant that he cannot ignore it.  In today's Vortex he all but says the pope committed heresy.  By the way - I did download this so it won't disappear as did the video from the synod.  I'm going to expound on the video beforehand, again in bullet format.

• At the 2:24 mark, Voris directly refutes the notion that "the Holy Spirit selects the pope".
• At 3:09, he begins a litany of popes who were true reprobates.  I'm surprised he neglected to mention Alexander VI.
• At 5:20 he states the obvious truth that "men in the office of the pope can be wrong".
• At 5:49 he asks "Why should reporters even be allowed to pop questions at the pope?  Any pope?  Always a bad idea."  The short obvious answer to the first question is because this pope says so - and even invites the questions.  We agree that it's a bad idea.  Most of the previous popes did as well, and that is why they gave few (if any) interviews.  So perhaps that first question should be phrased "Why does this pope invite these interviews on a regular basis?"
• At 6:04 Voris says that what the pope says about climate change, etc has no magisterial weight.  That is something that most educated Catholics understand.  However, progressive clergy, bishops' conferences, etc actively promulgate the hoax that everything coming from the mouth of Pope Francis is of Divine inspiration.  Therein lies the reason why many faithful Catholic bloggers MUST take issue with this pope's ever-increasing errors and now heresies.  Perhaps now Voris can admit that we play a vital role.
• At 6:30 Voris says "Jorge Bergolio can easily misspeak, especially if he's conflating his thoughts with what amounts to a hypothetical theological discussion point about nuns in the congo which no one can find any actual evidence of .."  True enough, but when he speaks while wearing those papal robes, he is not just some ordinary guy on the plane running his mouth.  Were that the case, the reporters wouldn't be one bit interested in what he has to say.
• At 7:16 we hear "we must suffer as He did, even if that suffering comes at the hands of His shepherds."  But we do not suffer in silence, lest others be led astray.
• He continues, "It is absurd to think that the men who are popes are perfect in their understanding, thoughts and so forth."  Most of us aren't asking for perfection from our pontiffs.  But is it too much to expect that our popes not constantly insult the devotions of faithful Catholics, not embrace progressivism and not utter heresies against basic Catholic morality?
• At 7:35 he correctly says that "it has become..a cult of the pope, driven by media, which turns it into a feeding frenzy from every side.."  Every side?  I can see it from the progressive side.  However, many of us must call out the errors for the express purpose of disarming the "cult" aspect of the matter and to keep objective truth in front of the world's eyes.  Those who incessantly try to excuse the pope's errors, minimize them, or stifle our attempts to refute errors are just as responsible for the "cult" problem as are the media.
• The "danger of the media driven papacy" can be controlled and even diffused.  The primary responsibility for that lies with the pope himself, with his Vatican staff.  That brings us back to a question asked here and elsewhere: "Why does the pope see fit to grant these impromptu interviews?"
• At 8:31 he brings up the example of Pope Benedict's interview, when the condom remark was taken out of context.  Yes, Pope Benedict made a mistake when granting that interview.  Now here's the really important point.  Pope Benedict XVI never repeated that "papal interview: error!  "Popes make mistakes!"  Yes, but if they keep making the same mistakes repeatedly, with devastating consequences, it's quite fair for us to ask why.
• "Private thoughts that are wrong.." cease to be private when they are spoken before reporters who will literally broadcast these thoughts to millions.  I do congratulate Voris for acknowledging those remarks of the pope as being "wrong".
• "For the first 1900 years we were spared.  From here on out, we're on notice".  True enough; for the first 1900 years the errors could not be widely promulgated.  Now they can be, and thus faithful Catholics must contradict those errors as they occur.

Kudos to Michael Voris for acknowledging that the pope's remarks on this latest plane interview were decidedly off the mark.  But let us not trivialize the damage potential that they do have.

Pope Francis' Latest Liturgical Insult - Condemned By Vortex

Last week the pope decreed that women be admitted to the number of those who have their feet washed during Holy Thursday services.  As I stated in my post last week, the fact that he is issuing a decree that now allows this to happen stands as proof that before this decree, the washing of women's feet was forbidden.  In the past, the pope has broken canon law himself.  In fact, during one such service he washed the feet of a "transexual woman" - well, ok, it really was a man but you see the potential for scandal when Church law is disobeyed.

Several years ago, when Benedict XVI was still the reigning pope, Michael Voris put out an excellent Vortex that detailed why the Church had restricted the foot-washing to men.  Since the current pontiff was elected, Voris has adopted a policy never to criticize the doings and sayings of the pope.  However, he already did so, without realizing at the time what was to come.  But the truths he stated in his video are as relevant now as they were then.

If so, that would explain why Cardinal Dolan did his best to stonewall the parishioners who felt they had to recourse save for legal action.  I fail to see how that would explain Dolan's other "tips of his hat" to the gay agenda.  Michael Voris is currently investigating this whole sordid affair.  See today's Vortex:
