Father Fidel Rodriguez Defended The Blessed Sacrament In Florida

At the 10 am Mass on Sunday May 19, in St Thomas Aquinas Church in St. Cloud, FL, a woman presented herself for Holy Communion.  Because she didn't open her mouth or reply "amen", Father Fidel Rodriguez had reason to question her eligibility for receiving Holy Communion.  When he asked, she refused to tell him when she last went to Holy Communion or Confession.  He gave her a blessing.  The woman's name is Jetty Nique.

She tried it again at the 12pm Mass.  When Fr. Rodriguez asked about her last confession again, she replied it's "not his business".  Then she extended her hand towards the ciborium bowl, grabbed several Hosts, crushed them and threw/dropped them on the floor.  There was a struggle.  Father had to hold the bowl and defend himself.  It was then that he bit her, to defend both the Blessed Sacrament and himself from Nique's aggression.  LifesiteNews has an account of the incident.  Other video can be found at WRAL News.

A commenter on the LifeSiteNews piece raises some interesting points.  The existence of these two videos speaks of an accomplice of Nique's who was at the ready to record her actions and the fallout.  It was a set up, no doubt.

Later Nique told the police "he wouldn't give me the cookie".  The cookie!  Either she is ignorant of just what the Consecrated Host really is, or she is being flippant to the point of blasphemy regarding the Real Presence.

As of this writing, charges have not yet been filed against Father Rodriguez.  None should be.  She grabbed at him and what he was holding.  He acted in defense of self and the Blessed Sacrament.  Parishioners who witnessed the altercation substantiate Father's account of the matter.

At Florida law, if a person "willfully and maliciously" disturbs a religious assembly (such as a Mass), it is a first-degree misdemeanor that can become a third-degree hate crime.

To their credit, the Diocese of Orlando is standing by Father Rodriguez.  Let us stand by him, too, and invoke the intercession of St Tarcisius.

World Youth Mass Debacle

Take a look at the picture on the right.  At first glance, it appears to be condiment bowls that one might find at an outdoor potluck.  The bowls are paper and that is plastic wrap on top.  But it isn't.  That is how Holy Communion is being distributed at the World Youth Day this year.  That has been the case for several years now.  Ladies and gentlemen, this is sacrilege.  It is absolutely inexcusable and objectively sinful to treat the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of the Second Person of the Holy Trinity in such a banal and flippant manner.

Bishop Strickland has a few things to say about it.

LifeSiteNews has additional commentary on the bishop's remarks.  Read One Peter Five's take.  That backdrop looks like a Lego-driven nightmare.  It looks quite sterile and bleak, and probably by intent.  And the altar?  It looks like if one were to put pressure on one end of it, whatever is on the altar would topple right off.

I watched some of that clip (no time for the whole thing) and saw some of the abuses in distribution of Holy Communion (besides the potato-chip style bowls).  What was that priest thinking when he did intinction of the Host and used his hands to catch any droplets of the Precious Blood?  I am glad that the one woman ordered the other to consume the Host that she took.  It was good to see a few of the attendees receiving on the tongue, albeit from other lay people.

Still, the way in which Communion was distributed was rife with sacrilege.  It would have been better not to distribute Holy Communion at all.  Recall that there is no obligation to receive at Mass.

Vocal Catholics Keep Eucharist From Being Treated Like Drive-Thru Hamburgers

Please be advised that the following video is not satire!

That's right!  Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament is being treated with all the dignity of a Happy Meal from the McDonald's drive-through. As we watch the people walk to their cars with their arms swinging in a normal gait, we know that Particles of the Host are flying everywhere from the wrappers.  By the way - did you hear any directions regarding the disposal of the wrappers - that probably containg pieces of the Host?  I didn't either.

Note: In the 0:07 mark, notice the drums to Father's right.  In most localities, singing is banned.  Perhaps that is a blessing in disguise for now the ears of the few Catholics who now attend Mass are not being assailed with all manners of ungodly racket.  Also at th 0:09 mark, take note of the lady in the pink sweater (bottom right of the screen) giving us all a demonstration as to why the masks accomplish the exact opposite of their touted purpose.  Just for fun, go to their website and look at all the laudible causes being pursued by their Justice Council. What's that?  Where's any mention of fighting abortion?  Oh, how..how.. rigid of you!  But I digress!

I understand that since this video from Complicit Clergy was released till now, that the uproar resulted in this debacle being canned.  That shows what can happen when we raise our voices and make these careless clergy uncomfortable in their sacrilege. Please advise via comments of any other such nonsense, providing corroborating links so that we can shine light on cockroaches.  Thank you.

World Youth Craze

The annual extravaganza known as "World Youth Day", this time in Panama, has come and gone.  Ostensibly it is to answer the spiritual needs of young people in the Church.  However, that is not quite the case.  Organizers have said that the "central themes" would be immigration, environment and role of women in the Church.  In other words, it would be a brainwashing project to insinuate leftist/socialists ideas to naive young people.  If this truly was about spiritually nourishing young people, wouldn't appropriate themes include repentance, conversion, Sacraments, growth in holiness, necessity of chastity and other such topics?

One Latin American attendee wrote his account of his trip there and it is published on the Church Militant site.  He was profoundly disappointed at the raucous atmosphere there, and even aspects of what we know as the "hook-up culture".  To be clear, reverence was to be found among the attendees, but often that happened in spite of the organization.  Take, for instance, this time of Eucharistic adoration and Benediction.  Observe the grotesque object that passes for a monstrance stand.  I fear that could be a horrid distortion of our Blessed Mother.  If so, both she and Our Lord were targets of sacrilege.

Carelessness seemed to be the order of the day.  GloriaTV reports that after one of those huge outdoor Masses, one young man found a Host on the ground.  Fortunately the young man consumed the Host immediately to protect Our Lord from further maltreatment.  How many others fell to the ground and were perhaps trodden underfoot?

I have not heard any reports of any workshops and talks that occurred.  Please check the Church Militant link; that rap-singing, break-dancing routine is supposed to depict the Annunciation.  Ladies and gentlemen, can we say "irreverent blasphemy"?

Now onto the February meeting for the "protection of minors".  They were ill-served last week.
