Archbishop Vigano Faces Vatican Kangaroo Court

Archbishop Carlo Vigano, former Papal Nuncio to the United States, has been one of the few prelates to call a spade a spade when it comes to the mischief occasioned by Vatican II and in particular, this current papacy with which the Church is now being scourged.  He has also been a key factor in exposing the former prelate Theodore McCarrick as being not only a sexual predator, but also a facilitator in the progressive rot that has infested the Church hierarchy.

Comes now the news that the Vatican's Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith demanded that Vigano go to the Vatican for an "extrajudicial process" to answer for the "crime of schism".  That phrase "extrajudicial process" is quite intriguing. The "extra" prefix hints that this process does not fall within normal canonical guidelines for a normal judicial process.  Without canonical regulations, anything goes, right?  Unless I am misunderstanding something (could be quite possible), that phrase "extrajudicial process" might just be a fancy synonym for "kangaroo court".

The communication from the Vatican to Vigano can be found on that LifeSiteNews page.  Archbishop Vigano has issued a response, and it is well worth studying.  Every word of it is true.  It can be found at this link.  Should it go "missing", I have saved a copy of it, and suggest that all readers do the same.

Archbishop Vigano is by no means in schism.  He does, however, represent a threat to those who are treating their episcopal authority as their personal plaything, a tool to undermine and even destroy the Church from within.  We are seeing concurrently another manifestation.  LifeSiteNews and other Catholic outlets are reporting that the pope et al are frustrated that the Latin Mass is not withering away.  In fact, interest in it has even increased.  Details are not yet clear, but it seems that even more draconian restrictions are set to be inflicted on July 16.

This Mass will NOT shrivel up and go away.  It has nurtured many Saints over the last several hundred years.  It is protected by Quo Primum, the papal bull issued by Pope St Pius V.   Other prelates such as Bishop Schneider and Cardinal Burke have stated that the Mass belongs to the Church's tradition and thus cannot be legitimately eliminated.  I wonder - will those two eventually be summoned to their own "extrajudicial processes"?

We need to stand with Archbishop Vigano and these others.  We need to stand for the Traditional Latin Mass and tell these prelates that they must back down.  It is not we who have forgotten who they are; it is they who disregard their own sacerdotal offices.

Amazon Sin-Nod - One Of The Final Touches Towards Schism

Archbishop Vigano himself is sounding this alarm, as are others.  I haven't gotten very far in my attempts to digest the Instrumentum Laboris, but from what I've read, it is an apology for both pantheism and environmentalism.  In trashing western culture, the authors of the IL are also denigrating the Catholic faith, the very basis of western culture.  In turn, they downplay Jesus Christ Himself, from Whom the Catholic Church sprung.

The archbishop sees it as an amalgamation of liberation theology, socialism, pantheism, and a deconstruction of the Faith in its insinuation of married clergy, female deacons and sexual license.  Cardinal Brandmuller flat out called the IL "heretical" and "apostacy".

We should point out that the proceedings of no synod are binding upon the faithful, especially when they run counter to Church Tradition.  In that case, they are heretical and must not only be opposed in our personal lives, but must be outwardly and forcefully resisted if and when they are brought to bear in our churches.

Amoris Laetitia Or The One True Faith - Each Catholic Must Choose

A few weeks ago I wrote how Cardinal Farrell knotted his knickers because Archbishop Chaput had the audacity to act like a real bishop.  The latter issued guidelines for Catholics in his own diocese, telling his flock that Church Tradition took precedence over Amoralis Lamentia.  Now it seems like Farrell will soon be taking pot-shots at Archbishop Sample for doing the same thing.  Sample's clear and accurate statement "accepting an erroneous judgment of conscience is neither mercy nor charity" will not sit well with Farrell and the others who hope to exploit ambiguity so that God's teachings may be undermined.

Thankfully we do see an increasing number of those who are standing with the four cardinals in approval and support of the dubia.  A number of churchmen issued an open "Letter of Support Of The Four Cardinals From Catholic Academics And Pastors".  Church Militant TV interviewed Dr. Joseph Shaw, one of the signers of that letter.  When asked whether or not he believes schism is brewing, he replied, "it seems appropriate to use the language of schism."

He was commenting on a statement made earlier by Bishop Athanasius Schneider.  When asked if the pope's silence in regards to the dubia increases the risk of schism, he replied that "a certain type of schism already exists in the Church."  In a meeting this past Monday he remarked, "the reaction to the dubia is a proof of the climate in which we actually live in the Church right now.  We live in a climate of threats and of denial of dialogue towards a specific group."  Of course that specific group is those who faithfully adhere to the teachings of Jesus Christ despite the rubbish found in Amoralis Lamentia and other progressive flim-flam.  At that Monday meeting, also in attendance were Cardinals Burke and Brandmuller, two of the four cardinals; Bishop Schneider chaired it.  Amoralis Lamentia was discussed, as well as courses of action to be taken.

Professor Roberto de Mattei, also in attendance, stated that "it is important to comprehend that today there is a clear choice between fidelity to the Church, to the perennnial Magisterium, or infidelity, which means errors, heresy and apostacy."  He has taken his stand with the four cardinals against the mess found in Amoralis Lamentia.  Each and every Catholic faces that choice, like it or not.  Ora et labora.

Yes, Virginia, De Facto Schism Is Underway In The Church

Last Saturday when I commented on the ecumenicide in which the USCCB was embroiling itself, I somehow missed one of the most egregious aspects of it, although it was unabashedly stated in the USCCB press release.  Here it is: "It also suggests that the expansion of opportunities for Lutherans and Catholics to receive Holy Communion together would be a sign of the agreements already reached."  Ladies and gentlemen, it would be sacrilege to allow Holy Communion to be given to those who are not in union with Rome.  Holy Communion is not a mere "sign of agreements" but is the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ Himself.

But my purpose here is not to go into a treatise on Holy Communion but to illustrate the lack of belief in the Real Presence on the part of many of our bishops.  How could the USCCB even suggest such sacrilege if they had even just a smidgen of belief in the Real Presence as taught by the Church?  And that's not the only teachings that are being disobeyed by many bishops.  Toronto Catholic Witness reports that Archbishop Henryk Hoser of the Archdiocese of Warszawa-Praga has stated quite frankly that "some bishops do not even accept the official teachings of the Church".  In the context of that interview, he is speaking of the Church's teachings on sexuality and family, particularly Humanae Vitae.

Until this past sin-nod, there were well-intentioned Catholics who could just not admit that there are serious problems with this papacy.  The truth is becoming harder and harder to deny, as evidenced by some very recent articles.  Please read:
I'd also suggest reading One Peter Five's piece.  He is spot-on.  What some people are just now seeing has been ongoing for decades now.  I'll echo my colleague's last line: "Welcome to the war.  It's about time you showed up."

Sin-Nod Proposal To Insinuate Moral Relativism In The Church

There are indications that Pope Francis may be entertaining ideas to slough off some papal authority to local bishops' conferences.  Under the proposal, these conferences would be empowered to deal with moral matters such as homsexuality and divorce as well as some doctrinal matters.  Voice of the Family has a fairly extensive analysis of the problem.

Both Cardinals Muller and Burke rightly condemn this idea as a violation of the very notion of a universal Church and an admittance of moral relativism.  Ladies and gentlemen, the Catholic Church is custodian of the Teachings of Jesus Christ.  These teachings are as immutable and eternal as the God who promulgated them.  They don't change from place to place, era to era.  What this crackpot idea would do is to create situations where the Church in one place would falsely teach that homosexuality is morally acceptable while another would hold onto Christ's teachings.  It would in fact formalize schisms (yes, that's plural) within the Church.

Readers of this blog are well aware of the many problems caused by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.  I needn't rehash them here; just put the name in the search box at the top left.  Now can you just imagine the unmitigated disasters that would be spewing forth from that cabal if they were granted doctrinal authority?  The Church in the United States would be crippled beyond recognition.

Let us pray that the Church survives the remaining days of this sin-nod.

Cardinal Marx Outright Shills For Holy Communion For Adulterers And Sodomites

Such was the gist of his "intervention" this past Wednesday. To complete the heretical slop, he also stated that contraception within marriage should be liberalized "to make more room for conscience".  In other words, the clear teachings of Jesus Christ are to be subordinated to the demands of warped consciences.  I saw this news on Church Militant's site and left the following comment.  It is self-explanatory, but knowing CM's reluctance to criticize the doings and sayings of Pope Francis, here's hoping that the comment remains and that they start acknowledging the proverbial "elephant in the living room".   The comment is "If Marx is allowed to remain in his various Church-related roles after this proposal of immorality and heresy, we need to acknowledge that Pope Francis approves of Marx's antics and perhaps even is applauding them.  Let us cease this fear of stating these simple truths, shall we?"

Meanwhile, the bishops from Poland and Africa are having nothing to do with Marx's antics.  Toronto Catholic Witness relates that Archbishop Gadecki refutes the idea of "being pastoral" and he has spoken in the name of all the Polish bishops.  Michael Hichborn of Lepanto Institute asks why such matters of settled doctrine are even being discussed and then answers the question; they are being discussed because Marx et al want to unsettle these doctrines.

We've had de facto schism for some time now.  This sin-nod may well formalize that reality.

Don't Let Papal Visit Distract You From Next Month's Synod

The preparations for the pope's imminent visit are developing into quite a "dog-and-pony" show, with all the tee shirts, caps, cardboard cut-outs, etc.  Lots of excitement is afoot - so much so that many are becoming oblivious to the storm that is about to erupt at the Ordinary Synod of the Family this coming October.

Some of us are raising the alarm.  Ladies and gentlemen, there is real possibility - if not probability - for schism to result from this synod.  This tocsin is also being sounded by Cardinals.  Cardinal Reinhard Marx is on record of favoring the distribution of Holy Communion to divorced and remarried Catholics who have not obtained proper annulments.  Bear in mind that this heretical position is being espoused by the president of the German Catholic Conference and member of Pope Francis' "gang of nine".

Thankfully Marx is being opposed directly by two faithful Cardinals.  Cardinal Robert Sarah, prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship, called Marx's words "heresy and dangerous schizophrenia".  He made his remarks as he released his book "God Or Nothing - A Conversation About Faith".  His book was presented by Cardinal Gerhard Mueller, who explicitly warned of a schism owing to the antics of German bishops.

There's also heresy from Belgium.  Bishop Johan Bonny (where have we heard that name before?), recently voiced opposition not only to Humanae Vitae, but to natural law itself.  Consider that this heretic will be a sin-nod "father", as well as Bishop Cupich.

As I said, too many well-meaning folks are waxing giddy over the pope's visit.  We need to remain sober and at prayer for the future of the Church and salvation of millions.  I now post a video that suggests this pitting of clerics against each other might well be a fulfillment of the prophesy of Our Lady of Akita.  It also voices many other warnings and alarms regarding the upcoming sin-nod.

Will The Upcoming Sin-Nod Lead To Schism?

That is a very real concern being voiced by some faithful bishops and laypersons.  Before we watch a video dealing with these questions (ht: LifeSite News), let's digest a piece of news from Rome.  Within the city limits, a square will be dedicated to Martin Luther - with no opposition from the Vatican.  This is not "ecumenism" in any healthy sense of the word.  Martin Luther was a heretic who did much to undermine Christianity, leading to death and destruction - and not just in this life.  Now consider that lately the German Catholic Conference has been standing in open defiance of the Magisterium.  Who is the president of the German Catholic Conference?  Cardinal Reinhard Marx - the same who organized the "shadow council" (now occurring) and who is among the pope's closest advisers.  So now we have the Vatican sitting silently by, while a German heretic is being honored in Rome.  Might this be a nod to the current German heretics?  As you watch the video, notice the references to both Martin Luther and German bishops who are spreading heresy.

By the way - check out Cardinal Marx's crosier at 28:19.  What is that thing supposed to be??

Window-Dressing Catholicism

In these next two clips, Michael Voris talks about those Catholics who emphasize the "horizontal" dimension of our religion to the exclusion of the Divine aspect of our Faith.  Of course we know the latter is the more fundamental, and it is that which will last into eternity.  He calls those Catholics "practical Catholics".  I won't use that terminology, since our Faith is in actuality very practical precisely because it is based on the eternal truths of God.  Rather, I'll call them "pseudo-Catholics", for indeed if they don't adhere to the Magisterium, to the teachings on the Last Four Things, to the necessity for the Sacraments (celebrated properly) and to the Magisterium's teachings on life, marriage, and other moral issues, their faith is based on falsehood.

You'll see in the second clip where he makes it a point to show that these pseudo-Catholics or nominal Catholics within our structures actually cause a de facto schism within the Church.  Some strongholds of pseudo-catholicism (I'll use the small "c") do include the USCCB (not all employees, but certainly the majority of the governing forces within), Catholics United, Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good.   Now for the videos.
