Oregon Community College Shootings - Another Important Aspect To Consider

First, let's all pray for the repose of those killed in the mass murder last week.  It is no secret that this gunman Chris Mercer, targeted Christians.  He queried his victims before he shot them; the Christians were shot in the head while non-Christians were shot in the legs.  That aspect was curiously absent from Obama's remarks after the shooting.  Had the victims been shot because they were anything but Christian, Obama would have denounced the hate-crime aspect of the murders.  But it is not Obama's screed that I want to address at this time, loathsome as it was.

As I understand the accounts, most or all of the mayhem happened in two classrooms, with goodly numbers of people in each of these, and Mercer acted by himself.  I'll ask this question point-blank.  Out of all those people, why did only one individual, Army veteran Chris Mintz, think to charge at Mercer?  Again, consider that Mercer was by himself while there were many potential victims.  How could it not have occurred to them, especially after he began shooting people one by one, that they'd all at least be wounded if they remained passive?  Did not one of them have the presence of mind to rally the others to rush at Mercer and disarm him before more bloodshed occurred?

I think we can lay some of the blame for that on our educational system and progressive culture.  For quite some time now, modern public education has been in the business of turning our children into stupified, passive sheeple who are incapable of thinking outside of the "victim box" into which the NEA has dictated our children must place themselves.  Indeed, students who dared to think outside the "sheeple box" often found themselves punished for so doing.  For example:
  • Last week in California, a high school student saw a blind student being bullied by another teen.  He punched the bully to the ground and tended to the blind student.  For his heroic actions, the school suspended the good samaratan.
  • See this account for punishment meted out to two other students for assisting others.
Then there are the public-education nitwits who are afflicted with vapors at the mere thought of children even thinking about guns.  See this and this and this for three such accounts.  I, a citizen of Maryland, am ashamed that all these occurred in my home state.  I bring up these to show how public school students are being taught to shun the idea of self-reliance for their own safety, and punished if they don't accept the pabulum being force-fed to them.

Those Oregon victims who professed their Christianity were shot out of hatred for the faith.  But I daresay many of them were shot because they didn't lift a finger to defend themselves and other students.  Yes, I know that they may have been shot if they would have attempted such self-defense, but that obviously happened anyway.  Had they taken the actions that Mintz took I suspect many lives would have been saved - including Mercer's.

Again, I fault our education system for their obvious failures to mentally equip young people to be proactive about self-defense.  Perhaps for the Christians, their pastors may want to reevaluate how they balance the teaching of "turn the other cheek" with morally legitimate self-defense.  As I understand Christ's admonition, "turn the other cheek" does not mean acquiescence to a madman intent on harming many others besides oneself.  I don't think it's any coincidence that Mintz is a military veteran.  He received training that would have undone some of the progressive mental damage that so many young people endure these days.

Public education is turning our young people into passive sheeple who learn to depend on the government for everything, including their safety.  We need to counteract that, and the parents and pastors must step up to the plate and teach our young (and ourselves) how to be proactive and tough (in the proper way) to take charge and deal proactively with our surroundings.

Boogie-Woogie Bishops - Sinister Underpinnings

Last week I posted about the disgraceful conduct of some bishops at World Youth Day as they mindlessly shirked all sense of their episcopal dignity and engaged in a silly dance - in their robes.  I know that some of you thought I was just being too uptight and (to use the words of one of the comments) "judgmental".  I'd like to remind one and all of a Latin phrase that is most appropriate here: "lex orandi, lex credendi, lex vivandi".  Sloppiness in liturgy and decorum often leads to sloppiness in moral conduct.  However, as I wrote that post, I didn't realize how true that was even in that situation.

The bishops on that occasion were following the direction of a Brazilian choreographer who goes by the name of "Fly" (or perhaps its Portuguese translation).  His resume is chequered to say the least.  My blogging colleague Eponymous Flower published a piece revealing that Fly has posed for several gay magazines in the nude.

Consider that the bishops probably thought it was ok to "let their hair down", as it were.  Not so.  No one is at liberty to suspend their prudence and critical thinking processes - not even for an instant.  If one stops being vigilant for just one split-second, often disaster results.  I would think that goes double for those who are our shepherds in the faith.  In this case, the shepherds allowed themselves to be sheeple - and the shepherd they followed appears to be a homophile.  They have placed themselves in the position of mindlessly doing the bidding of a probable pervert, much like the mice followed the Pied Piper to their ultimate demise.

Regarding my coined term "homophile", if Fly himself is not gay, he obviously is a supporter of that lifestyle; else he would not have been associated with their magazines.  That probably puts him in the position of formally and materially cooperating with mortally sinful homosexual behaviors.

By the way - was not Fly also leading young dancers?  Is he the sort of fellow that should be held up as any kind of leader for impressionable young people?  What were the organizers of WYD thinking when they retained Fly?  What kind of vetting (if any) went into their hiring procedures?  Did they exercise any kind of due diligence to ensure that those whom they hired were at least not flagrant violators of Catholic moral teachings?  The answer to that last question is obviously "absolutely not".

St. Joseph Cafasso and St. John Vianney, and all sainted bishops, pray for the bishops on earth and the entire Roman Catholic Church.

College Students Petition To Legalize Fourth-Trimester Abortions

Thankfully this petition was a spoof because the college students weren't.  Yes, the words "fourth trimester" can either imply infanticide or a complete lack of command of the English language (the "tri" part of the word means "three" so a "fourth trimester" would be nonsensical).

At any rate, these people sign it either intending to promote infanticide or simply not understanding the meaning of the words "fourth trimester".  Such are the less-than-impressive results of Dewey-inspired progressive brainwashing.  These young people have been transformed into sheeple; and this is by design of the disciples of Dewey and his humanist cabal.

If you look closely, you can see the banners in the background identifying this campus as being on George Mason University in Fairfax VA.

Sheeple Sign Petition To Ban Pressure Cookers

The word "sheeple" is the only word I can concoct that fits folks who would beg the government to abridge their rights as adults.  They seem to want a nanny-state!  Well, all I can say is that the John Dewey-inspired progressive school system has done its job too well and Church leaders have done theirs abysmally.

ClashDaily.com's "liberal chick" got dozens of these signatures!  Just watch!

Literally Signing Away Their Rights!

Benjamin Franklin is credited with saying that "those who surrender essential liberties to obtain temporary security deserve neither and will lose both."  Many of the products of progressive education and modern culture have allowed themselves to be rendered "sheeple", for lack of a better word.  They are buying the codswallop that surrendering their Second Amendment rights will secure non-violence in society.  Of course all that will do is make them even more vulnerable to violence and even tyranny from a government that no longer has constitutional restraints upon it.

The video below that just came to my attention is purportedly of a man telling folks that they should sign away the First Amendment to "get behind the president".  I've no reason to assume this is a fake.  That said, we see even more sheeple willing to be fleeced and ultimately slaughtered.  It's way past time to wake up!

Turning People Into Sheeple

I don't know who Alex Jones is, but in this video he is spot-on.  For a long time, I've wondered at the mentality (or lack thereof) of grown adults who don't know who their two US Senators are, but can give you the shack-up history of any given movie/music star.  As they prostrate themeselves before that electronic deity known as the television for hours on end, their brains will turn to mush as they become unable to think two coherent thoughts in a sequence.  Also consider the dumbed-down education that the NEA-type progressives are cramming down the throats of our children (particularly the de-emphasis on language skills).  I've no doubt that all this is a coordinated effort to make the US citizenry into helpless sheeple who will take their directivies from the parent-surrogate known as the government, as long as the government keeps them entertained and supplies for their creature comforts.  Watch this video (click here if you can't see embedded videos).
