Does Sorondo's Social Doctrine Approve Of Execution Vans?

Bishop Marcelo Sanchez Sorondo, the chancellor of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, opined that "right now, those who are best implementing the social doctrine of the Church are the Chinese".  Yes, he said that, and still retains his position.

Sorondo's quips elicited many rebukes from faithful Catholics.  Reggie Littlejohn, founder and president of Women's Rights Without Frontiers, has dedicated much of her life in fighting forced abortion in China.  She asked how forced abortions and sterilizations fit in with respect and human dignity.

Abortions aren't the only egregious violations of human rights committed by the thug Chinese.  They have mobile execution vans.  They do exactly what the name implies.  "What about due process?", you ask?  Oh, don't be silly!  The Chi-Coms don't bother themselves about basic human rights to due process!  Is this what Sorondo had in mind?

So where is Pope Francis in all this?  Why, he's still going ahead with his capitulation to the Chi-Coms in allowing them to dictate who will be bishops over the long-suffering Chinese Catholics.  God bless Cardinal Zen for calling out that corrupt cabal in the Vatican.

One more question: what do the "seamless garment social justice warriors" have to say about all this?  Their silence is quite telling!  Sorondo's praise of Red China just might be right up their alley!

Attention Vatican! Envirowhackoism Is NOT Magisterial Teaching

A December 3rd Acton Institute conference in Rome saw a close papal adviser make statements about the Magisterium that are, well, not in keeping with Church tradition.  The bishop in question is Bishop Marcelo Sanchez Sorondo.  He unabashedly stated that the politically correct and scientifically unsound envirowhackoism as espoused by progressives is to be considered part of the magisterium.  Why?  Because the pope included it in Laudato Si.  LifeSiteNews has a full report.

The bishop found himself contradicted by Acton president Father Robert Sirico and journalist Ricardo Cascioli.  Sorondo then uttered this incredible nonsense as the definition of the magisterium: When the Pope has assumed this, it is Magisterium of the Church whether you like it or not..

Got that?  According to him, mere assumption is enough to constitute Church teaching.  Of course that is poppycock.  At the very least, any such "assumption" must be in conformity with already-established Church teaching, and that teaching states that the pope can speak infallibly only on matters of faith and morals.

My Catholic Media Coalition colleague at Les Femmes also commented on this bishop's foolish pronouncement, one that Father Fessio called an "embarrassment to the Church".  As I mentioned in her comments, this bishop was merely parroting the pope.  I now link to a piece published by Catholic Citizens of Illinois (another Catholic Media Coalition member).  It is by Carl Olson, editor of Catholic World Report.  He writes about the many gaffes that this current pontiff has uttered and the damage done by them.  I daresay this latest nonsense by Bishop Sorondo claiming that Laudato Si is defined dogma of the Church is just the latest example of the havoc being caused by these regrettable papal statements.

Cardinal Wuerl Tries To Talk Up Pope Francis

A few days ago, the Jesuit heresy-rag known as America published an interview that they conducted with Cardinal Wuerl.  No one should be the least bit surprised that Wuerl would converse with them for they seem to be kindred spirits.  We read in this piece a number of stinkers plopped by His Eminence.
  • He said the pope "is changing the papacy".  Uh-uh!  No can do!  This is an office created by Our Lord Himself.  The pope is the chief shepherd of the Church and he must see to the salvation of its members, guarding the Deposit of Faith.  Note: that verb is "guarding" not "changing".
  • He also said the pope is "completely refocusing the role of bishop".  Don't you just adore the fact that no specifics are given regarding this "refocusing"?  What is meant by that?  Are we to be kept guessing?  I think that's the idea lest we take action to protect the office of bishop.
  • He carried on about the pope restoring "the Vatican II themes of collegiality and synodality".  But as LifeSiteNews reminds us (and as I've written in the past), all that "collegiality and synodality" went out the window as Pope Francis and his cronies (Wuerl being one of them) ramrodded through the two reports from the synods of the family.
  • Of Amoralis Lamentia, he said "It told us that we have to get back, as the council said, to a moral theology that rests on scripture and Jesus’ command to love and to the virtues that are the signs of a moral life, not the rigid following of the letter of the law."  Notice how the false dichotomy trick is being implemented here: that is, taking two aspects of Jesus' teachings and pretending that they're at odds with each other, usually done to vilify Catholics faithful to the doctrines of Our Lord Himself.  I for one remember Jesus saying in the Gospel of John "he who loves me obeys my commandments.  For all you faithful moral theologians out there: is not this juxtaposing of various words of Jesus against each other its own form of blasphemy, to insinuate that God contradicts Himself?
I could spend all night unpacking this mess but time forbids it.  Christopher Ferrara has an analysis of the mess.  I will conclude with this thought.  The cardinal said, "This Holy Father has recognized that marriage in the culture in which we live needs to be totally renewed. But you can’t do this without recognizing that this is a different moment in history to 25 years ago, and the people the church is talking to don’t understand the words the same way as we do."

NEWS FLASH!  Many people inside the Church - and in high places - are either ignorant of the Church's teachings or they hold them in utter contempt.  For example, Bishop Sorondo, at the Biological Extinction Conference, said, "Many times, we don’t know exactly what is the doctrine of the Church – we know some part but not all the doctrine of the Church about the question of the fecundity."  Mind you, this is a highly-placed bishop, the chancellor of two pontifical academies, blithely admitting ignorance of basic teachings that any Catholic school child of two generations ago would have learned before graduating.  And now I'll leave you with Gloria TV.

Trump Trashes Gaia-Worshiping Climate-Change Junk-Science

Yesterday President Trump announced that the US would be extraditing itself from the hamstring boondoggle known as the "Paris Agreement".  As Huffington Post sniffs, this is within a week or two of the pope presenting to President Trump his faux-gospel known as Laudato Si.  He must have read it and understood its basis in progressive crap-science.  Breitbart News posted a list of harms that have been averted due to our rejection of the Paris Agreement.

The HP piece quotes Bishop Sorondo as whining that Trump's action "would be a slap in the face for us".  Truth be told, the whole Pontifical Academy for the Sciences might benefit from some slaps to the kissers.  Of course I speak figuratively for I would never assault clergy in that manner.  To strike the ordained is an act of sacrilege; even if they don't hold their sacerdotal orders in high esteem, I do.  The adulation they have heaped upon notorious baby-killing proponents (Jeffrey Sachs, Paul Ehrlich, Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown, etc) betrays their allegiance to progressivism and hatred for western (that is, Christian) culture.  I've been following the encroachment of environmentalism in the Church for a while now.  To an ever increasing number of people it is becoming clear that environmentalism is a Trojan horse for population control (via contraception, sterilization and abortion), one-world government, with that government encroaching so much on the lives of people that it supplants God in their lives.  Here is just one expose of that fact; I urge you also to go to the Vortex link in this article.

The anti-life philosophy behind environmentalism reared its ugly head as recently as last month, when environmentalists tried to maintain the Paris Agreement.  You can see that in the video below, seeing how they reacted to the pro-life message.  I thank God that President Trump thwarted these people for now.

Conferences For Immorality Within The Church

Imagine, if you will, a conference of progressive big-wigs brainstorming and scheming together on how to hoodwink people that climate-change junk-science is a fact.  One of those attendees is none other than California Governor Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown.  He says outright that in order for people to swallow the climate change yarn, and I quote, "we need a total, I might say, brainwashing".

Then another participant at that seedy gathering tells his accomplices that the world's population needs to be "culled" as a first step to addressing climate change.  One of the other attendees, Bishop Marcelo Sanchez Sorondo (we've seen his name before) agreed with him, going so far as to claim "the Catechism of the Catholic Church says that we have to regulate the population" as he advocated making contraceptives available to Africans.  Can anyone point to the citation in the Catechism that advocates that?  I didn't think so!

So there you have some of the sinister bile pouring forth from this hypothetical pit of snakes hissing together as they strategize how to ensconce the culture of death more firmly within this world.  It seems like it would have Soros' paw prints all over it, wouldn't it?  There is just one problem.  This scenario is not hypothetical.  What I just described is a Vatican conference entitled "Health Of People, Health Of Planet, And Our Responsibility: Climate Change, Air Pollution And Heath".  Now isn't that a mouthful?  It was sponsored by the Pontifical Academy Of (Junk) Sciences and took place November 2-4.  See here and here for the reports from which I quoted.

Not to be outdone by their counterparts, the Pontifical Academy for Life conducted its own pro-death apologetic session.  They called theirs' the "WMA European Region Meeting On End-Of-Life Questions".  Attendees and speakers included two proponents of "assisted suicide" and Dr. Yvonne Gilli, head of International Planned Parenthood's Switzerland affiliate.  While the pope stated that Church teaching on assisted suicide would not change (as though that were a valid possibility), one of the questions considered by this bunch was "is there a need to change policy?"  So a director of a Planned Parenthood affiliate was invited by this "academy for life".  I wonder when they'll extend an invitation to Leroy Carhart to deliver some of his remarks?

These two pow-wows, along with the USCCB meeting in Baltimore last week, make evident that not only has satan's smoke found its way through some cracks in the Vatican wall, but the smoke is billowing in, polluting all that is holy.  Please be praying for Holy Mother Church.  Study your Faith well and defend it.
