Why The Bishops' Suit Regarding HHS Mandate Is Weak

Michael Voris is spot on in this Vortex - and I'll take it a step further.  Not only do they refuse to defend and promulgate Church teaching regarding matters sexual, but some of them punish the priests who have the temerity to act like - priests of Jesus Christ.  Just put the name "Father Guarnizo" or "Father Rodriguez" in the search box for an eye full.

After you watch the video, I'll have additional remarks below that.

In the beginning of that clip, Voris made mention of the Archdiocese of Detroit knowing that the Catholic hospitals within its bounds were blatantly violating Church teaching regarding dispensing of abortifacients.  I regret to point out that the Archdiocese of Washington is no better.  I link now to a letter that I wrote to Cardinal McCarrick almost ten years ago.  This is the letter that was the unofficial launching point for my earlier website and eventually this blog.  It is a compilation of various outrages that occurred with the Archdiocese's knowledge and even instigation.

Pay close attention to the tenth item.  Georgetown University was engaging in embryonic stem cell research with approval of Cardinal McCarrick.  The letter speaks for itself.

I think it is fair to opine that the Obama administration doesn't take the US bishops seriously because the bishops don't take seriously their own call to proclaim the truth boldly.  For once I don't blame the Obamanistas.

Faithful Catholics Protest Outside As Gumbleton Commits Sacrilege Against The Mass

At a Dignity anniversary event at Detroit's Marygrove College (run by liberal IHM sisters) retired Bishop Gumbleton, in disobedience to Bishop Vigneron, presided at a "gay Mass".  No doubt numerous gays and their homophile enablers committed the mortal sin of receiving the Eucharist unworthily.  Bishop Gumbleton, by cooperating materially and formally with those mortal sins most likely laid some mortal sins to his own charge.  He failed to serve those in attendance in that Mass, owing to his horrible example.

ChurchMilitant.tv brings welcome news that this blasphemy was publicly protested on the Marygrove campus.  I post the video below.  Having engaged in similar efforts myself, I can only urge one and all to step out and make your voices heard as these sad situations are occurring.  Yes, it will be uncomfortable and will involve some confrontation - but so what?  We as Catholics are not called to be comfortable but to be signs of contradiction.  Moreover, as American citizens, our free speech rights are guaranteed under the US Constitution.  So while we have rights we also have responsibility to use those rights.  Let's get to work.

By the way: here are the links to which the video refers:

The Vortex Responds To The Archdiocese Of Detroit

I've written before on the scheme of some bureaucrats within the Detroit Archdiocese to force Real Catholic TV to change its name.  Today's Vortex addresses the matter further.  The Lifesite news article that Voris mentions can be found here.  As you read it, note the comments - including some information on the employment of one of the canon lawyers who has spoken out on the matter.

And That's How It's Done!

The above is a sentence in Jill Stanek's blog describing the victory won by a dedicated group of pro-life Catholics in their parish.

The parish in question is Our Lady of Fatima Church in Oak Park, Michigan.  There they are misrepresented by U.S. Congressman Ed Rivet.  Throughout his career (including an earlier stint as State Senator), he has voted to foster abortion and euthanasia.  Last summer he headlined a Planned Parenthood fundraiser.  So what did the "social justice" cabal at Our Lady of Fatima do?  They invited Rivet to give a talk on "The Dignity of the Human Person".  One might think that was a macabre joke, given his anti-life history.

The announcement gave only one week's notice, but the faithful Catholics of that parish immediately sprung into action.  They protested to both the pastor and to the Archdiocese of Detroit.  At the same time, they mobilized various groups and made known that they would stage a protest of the event.   Apparently, not wishing to face the music, the parish relented and canceled the appearance.

And that's how it's done!

Let's review some key points.
  • Someone was paying attention and noticed what was about to happen, and they sounded the alarm.  In your own churches, do you have a network of people willing to keep their eyes and ears open at all times?  If not, form one!
  • The faithful Catholics at that parish were prepared to drop what they had otherwise planned to take action.
  • They were prepared to step out of their "comfort zones" and to get out into the streets, if necessary.  Folks, street activism is necessary, and not just for a few of us;  all of us (this means you) need to get off our duffs and on our feet and in the streets.
  • In this case, the prospect of a public stink was enough to cause the pastor to see the errors of his ways.  Had he not done so, it appears that the people were intent on following through.  So must we be.
If we're going to take back our Church and our culture from progressive lemmings, we need to have this sort of thing happen over and over again.  That's how it's done!

God Bless Archbishop Vigneron

I wrote several months ago (read all the postsabout the American Catholic Council and their subversive intentions for the Church.  Go to their own website and take a tour, as they appear to be quite proud of their mischief.

They're meeting in Detroit this coming weekend.  Among other things, they're going to have a "Eucharistic Liturgy" (heaven knows if it can be called a real Mass).  They didn't bother to contact the local bishop for his approval.  Accordingly, on his diocesan website, Archbishop Allen Vigneron has forbidden his priests and deacons to participate in this event.  Read it.  Then pray for more bishops like him.

The "Controversial" Voris Talk - OR - Contraband Catechism!

I blogged two weeks ago about the treatment that Michael Voris received from both the Diocese of Sranton and the Archdiocese of Detroit.  My friend at Les Femmes did the same.  Please review these postings.

At considerable effort and expense, a new venue was found for the talk and it occurred.  What follows after the jump break are three videos of that talk.

Eeek!!  Eeed!!  Insensitivity alert!!  The politically correct and those addicted to the "gospel of nicey-nice" SHOULD listen to this and grow up and accept the truth.
