A History Of Bishops Bending Over For The Gays

In this Vortex, Michael Voris rightly excoriates Cardinals Cupich, O'Malley, Wuerl, J Tobin, Bishop Bootkoski for their parts in "running interference" for their champion pervert, McCarrick.  The one thing I'll add at this time is more information on these prelates who disgrace their miters.

Cardinal Dolan is Archbishop of New York.  I've written tons on him; you might recall that he marched at the head of the St Patrick's Day Parade after it admitted gays to profane the name of St. Patrick.  Jay Malsky is a flaming gay and in charge of the "gay straight katholyc alliance" at St. Francis de Sales Church in New York City.  He performs in drag and actually put on his wig in front of the Tabernacle, thus committing sacrilege.  Will he be thrown out?  Don't hold your breath.  But Father Justin Wylie was when he dared to petition for priests to offer the Traditional Latin Mass.

New York is not the only diocese to have a pervert at the helm of one of its "gay ministries".  Chicago, under Cardinal Cupich, has one too.  He is at St. Patrick's Church.  Within the next two months, he and his accomplice in sodomy will mock and profane the Sacrament of Matrimony.  At least the debacle is not happening in a Catholic church, nor is the reception.  Again, how long will he be allowed to use the Church to justify his mortal sin?

If Cupich hasn't been faced with sacrilege against matrimony yet, Cardinal Tobin did when he was archbishop of Madison, Indiana.  A Knight of Columbus council rented its hall to two lesbians for their so-called "wedding reception".  We petitioned Tobin to no avail.  At first I thought he merely caved to the lesbians.  Now I wonder if the Council caved to the lesbians under the orders of Tobin.

And then there's my home diocese of Washington.  The maltreatment of Father Marcel Guarnizo, during Lent of 2012, happened in my home parish.  That happened with full knowledge, if not initiative, of Cardinal Wuerl.  Bishop Knestout behaved as the good little hatchet man, and was eventually rewarded by being appointed Bishop of Richmond.

Bishop Bootkoski is another who tossed a faithful Catholic under the bus.  Three years ago, a Catholic high school teacher posted a tweet in support of the Church's marriage teachings.  For her fidelity she was fired.  Fortunately, we caused enough uproar to bring about her reinstatement but she should never have been put through that angst in the first place.

I'm sure you see the common theme.  In each case, the prelate in question was doing the bidding of the gay cartel.  They even stabbed faithful Catholics in the back for so doing.  Enough is enough.  Bishop McCarrick has turned in his red hat.  Many more red and purple hats (and maybe a white one) likewise need to be surrendered.  The prelates discussed at the top should lead that foray.

Cardinal O'Malley Sympathetic To Dissidence Regarding Women Priests

This stunning admission of dissident proclivities was made during a "60 Minutes" interview with Norah O'Donnell.  What else can we call it when he states, "if I were founding a church, you know, I'd love to have women priests. But Christ founded it and what he he has given us is something different."

Let's unpack this, shall we?  We'll first examine Ordinatio Sacerdotalis, an Apostolic Letter written by Pope Saint John Paul II and promulgated on May 22, 1994 - the Feast of Pentecost that year.  To the best of my knowledge, this is the only time the sainted pontiff spoke ex cathedra.  I'll quote the key paragraph from the bottom of this letter where Pope John Paul II invoked infallibility.

"Wherefore, in order that all doubt may be removed regarding a matter of great importance, a matter which pertains to the Church's divine constitution itself, in virtue of my ministry of confirming the brethren (cf. Lk 22:32) I declare that the Church has no authority whatsoever to confer priestly ordination on women and that this judgment is to be definitively held by all the Church's faithful."

I underlined that last phrase for a reason.  In his interview with 60 Minutes, did Cardinal O'Malley definitively hold that judgment?  He did not!  His acknowledgment of it was grudging at best.  This Prince of the Church, in clear dereliction of his sacerdotal duties, makes plain his personal  ambivalence regarding Pope John Paul's declaration and sympathy to those dissenting on the matter of women-priestess wannabees.

In August 2013, Pope Francis reiterated Pope John Paul II's declaration.  Cardinal O'Malley is the lone American among the group of eight cardinals selected to reform the curia.  What he does and says will not be lost on Pope Francis.  The question now is, what will Pope Francis do about this not-so-sly dissent from the Magisterium by Cardinal O'Malley?

Bishops Cower Before "Gay Pride" Days In Major Cities

In this Vortex, Michael Voris wonders aloud if the Catholic bishops really "have Catholic hearts".  While we'll never know the answer to that question, the question is fair given the lackluster actions they take to moral evils.  Voris uses as an example of "gay pride days" that occur this time of year in major cities.  In the Archdiocese of Washington, the nation's capital, I can attest that our chancery turns a blind eye to the debauched orgy that happens here (this time a few weeks ago).  It was even worse in the Archdiocese of Boston, when Cardinal O'Malley refused to rebuke some Franciscans who set up a booth at their "pride festival".  Mind you, Cardinal O'Malley himsef is a Capuchin. And of course there's St Francis of Assisi Church in New York City where a blasphemous "pre-pride mass" was set to occur.  Where is Cardinal Dolan on that - or did we answer that question last week?

Note - speaking of quisling bishops, read what an Italian bishop did to one of his parish priests when the latter was preaching on the sin of fornication.  Doesn't it seem to you that the bishop was trying to soothe his fornicating sugar-daddies?  Kudos to Father Vicario and shame on Bishop Brambilla (ht Pewsitter).

Indifferentism Poisoning DC And Boston Chanceries

In both the Tenth Crusade and Rorate Caeli we read that Boston's Cardinal O'Malley reaffirmed his baptism under the dubious "ministry" of a Methodist named Anne Robertson.  As the Tenth Crusade points out, Roberson is pro-abortion.  But even if she advocated traditional morality, this ceremony was still scandalous on its face.  Since when does a Prince of the Church accept faux-ministry from a Protestant as though it were equivalent to ministry from a Catholic priest?

What is at play here is the heresy of indifferentism - the false belief that all religions are equivalent on God's eyes.  We of the Archdiocese of Washington are no strangers to such slop as it oozes from our own chancery - and has been for quite a while now.

For instance, who can forget the debacle of September 2005 when Cardinal McCarrick gave an "ecumenical" address to the King of Jordan and other Muslim persons at the Catholic University of America?   I originally published the text of his remarks on my earlier website and do so now.  In his very first sentence, he said that he "invoked allah, the compassionate and merciful lord of all the world".  He went on to invoke "allah" two more times.  Guess how many times he mentioned the words "Jesus Christ"?  That's right!  Zilch!  Zip!  Nada!  Does it not make you wonder just whose bishop he is?

Cardinal O'Malley, a member of the Pope's advisory Council of Cardinals, reportedly is in close contact with the Holy Father.  Did this episode come to Pope Francis' knowledge?  Why, when he holds such a position of responsibility, would Cdl O'Malley engage in actions that any reasonable person would see as scandalous?  Is he taking cues from the Vatican?  Recall that it was Pope Francis who himself broke Canon Law on Holy Thursday when he washed a woman's feet.  We look askance upon all this.  While Our Lord promised that the gates of hell would never prevail against us, He never promised us a cake walk.  We may well have opponents within the highest ranks of the Vatican.

Some Slime In The Archdiocese Of Boston

"The long night of corruption in the Church is nowhere near at an end, folks.  It has become institutionalized and YOU have to get mad about it!"  That is how this Vortex ends - with a clarion call to arms to the Church Militant.  That's us, folks!  We're not the "church mellow", nor the "church mealy-mouth", nor the "church milque-toast", nor the "church mediocre".  Got that?  If we see scenarios like the one we'll see below, what will we DO about it?

Here is more on the situation, from Boston Catholic Insider.

It Isn't Just Boston!

Over the past few days, the Archdiocese of Boston has figured prominently in some Vortex episodes of the past few day - mainly by way of example.  In the one from today, Michael Voris raises the question of why so many bishops (and their chanceries) are so heedless of the voices of faithful Catholics (us) and seem to evince little concern for the scandal caused by the constant boot-licking they do for prominent people who thumb their noses at God and decency.  As you watch the video, you'll note that he refers to a National Catholic Register article about the topic; read that and the comments.

I think Voris may have answered his own question (at least in part) when he posted another Vortex a few days ago.  In that one he expounds on some figures released by the Archdiocese of Boston.  It does seem that some chancery officials there are living high on the hog and being paid quite handsomely by the Archdiocese (which happens to be in debt).  Here's a pay chart and its financial report.  I will say this for the Archdiocese of Boston; they published a real financial report, not a "public relations" nonsense that was published by the Archdiocese of Washington a few weeks ago.

Could it be that the chancery fat-cats aren't rebuking the murderous ways of the powerful and elite because they don't want to upset their apple cart and loose their own perks and pleasures?  Does money talk that loudly?  Those are fair questions that deserve honest answers.

A Homily That Hopefully Sounded From Pulpits All Over The USA

And I don't mean just Catholic pulpits either!  What Obama and Sebelius did last week was a slap in the face to us all - and of course to the babies.  This homily was delivered today at the 11:15 mass at St John Neumann Church in Gaithersburg MD.  You should be able to download it, if you wish.  You might want to do so and burn it to some cds and circulate it.  Click HERE.

Towards the end of Mass, a letter from Cardinal Wuerl was read along the same theme.  For the sake of those living outside the Archdiocese of Washington, I link to it HERE.

I understand that many bishops have issued similar letters.  I'd be happy to link to those if readers will send me the necessary information.  If others priests issued similar statements, I'd be happy to pubicize those as well.

This administration in the White House aspires to become a dictatorial monster.  We need to stop it with all the means available to us as American citizens.  This certainly includes the November elections.

Vortex On Gay-Pandering In Boston

My friend at Throw The Bums Out (right sidebar) is based in Boston and has been following the "gay mass" scandal as it has been unfolding up there.  I urge you to please read it, and also read the other blogs to which she links.

For an excellent synopsis, watch this Vortex.  Click here if you can't see embedded video.

Archdiocese Of Boston Allows "Gay Pride Celebration" Mass

The buck stops with Cardinal O'Malley in regards to this travesty.  I cannot believe that he did not give permission for this blasphemy to go forward.  If he didn't, he must stand up forcefully and resolutely now and defend his flock from this scandal.  If he doesn't, he will forfeit any and all moral authority as a bishop, perhaps irrevokably.  He will have betrayed his solemn vows as bishop.  He will have in fact opened the sheep gate to the wolves.

St Cecelia has been given permission by the Archdiocese of Washington Boston (thank you anonymous for typo correction) to resume plans for their blasphemous celebration inside a Catholic church.  Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament will be subjected to all manners of abuse.  It will be much like the buffets and spitting that He endured during His Passion and death.  A sin that "cries out to heaven" will be celebrated during the Mass.  So what can be expected at this Mass?  Will there be behavior and scenes such as these inside the Church?

A few good Catholics in Boston have been speaking up.  However, there should be a deafening outcry.  Where is it?

Cardinal O'Malley Trashes His Diocesan Catholic Schools

He has just announced that they will admit children of gay "parents".  Do you think that the teachers will be free to proclaim the truth of God's provisions for matrimony and family life?  I direct you to the post of my colleague of Throw The Bums Out, who lives there and must deal with the mess that is in front of her face, to the everlasting shame of the feckless Cardinal O'Malley and his minions of his chancery.

MD Governor's Race - There's Hope!

Several people I know went all atwitter at the thought of Bob Ehrlich running against Martin O'Malley.  Not me!  Ehrlich remains unrepentant for his disgraceful treatmetn of Bob Smith when the latter dared to voice his Christian views on marriage.  Both Ehrlich and O'Malley are unacceptable.

However, my issue of the Defend Life newsletter arrived today, with an article about another Republican candidate for governor.  His name is Brian Murphy and he hails from Chevy Chase.  His website is http://www.brianmurphy2010.com/index.htmlThe Defend Life article is in the March-April edition, which is not yet online.  Go back to it later and click on "newsletter".  You'll want the "2010 Mar-Apr" edition; then go to page 17.

Cardinal O'Malley, It's Called "Canon 915"!

Cardinal Sean O'Malley of Boston recently told Lifesite News regarding the denial of Holy Communion to pro-abortion politicians, ""Well, I think that the only way that that solution [denying communion] should be invoked is if there were a large catechesis or if it was universal for the whole church. You can’t have people doing things in one parish and another, you would only divide the Church hopelessly."  He then goes on to call for a change in Canon Law and/or a papal directive.

Let's restate the obvious.  Canon 915 is universal for the whole church.  It's actually quite simple, and I'll now quote it in its entirety.  "Those who have been excommunicated or interdicted after the imposition or declaration of the penalty and others obstinately persevering in manifest grave sin are not to be admitted to holy communion."  That's it!  The underlined part is what pertains to the discussion about pro-abortion politicians.  Pro-abortion politicians "are not to be admitted to holy communion."  Who does the admitting?  It's the minister of Holy Communion, be they ordinary or extraordinary.  Canon 915 thus speaks to the minister of Holy Communion, not the would-be recipient of Holy Communion.  Read it.  It's spoken in the passive voice, but the meaning is crystal clear to those who have the intellectual honesty not to try to obfuscate its clear meaning.

The cardinal states that "you can't have people doing things in one parish and another.."  That's true enough.  The real solution, though, is to have all parishes and dioceses conform with Canon Law as it exists.  What makes the Cardinal think that they'll obey a new Canon law or new papal directive when they disobey the already-existing Canon Laws?

As far as papal directives go, the Vatican tried to extend such guidance in 2004 with then-Cardinal Ratzinger's (now the Holy Father) "Worthiness to Receive Holy Communion: General Principles".  The Vatican had intended it to be made known to all the bishops at their meeting in Dallas in 2004.  However, Cardinal McCarrick, who headed the USSCB's task force on the matter of Holy Communion, only made the briefest of reference to it.  Archbishop Burke said later that he was disappointed not to know of the full content of Cardinal Ratzinger's directive during the meeting.  Both Archbishop Burke and Cardinal Arinze have, from their Vatican posts, made clear that the minister of Holy Communion may not give It to pro-abortion politicians.  Cardinals O'Malley and McCarrick, what is so difficult to comprehend about that?
