Witchcraft, Islam And Humanism - De Facto Creeds Of The New Age

This post regarding these three popular manifestations of idolatry appeared a few days ago and it provides much food for thought.  I'd go a bit further than the author does.  He merely says that these idols are merely filling in a vacuum being left by a dying and shriveling church.  I, however, believe that the church isn't merely making way for these, but actively ushering them to places of prominence.  Witness the "poop video" in the post previous to this one.

Another very recent manifestation seems to come from a most surprising source - the canonization of Mother Teresa.  There is no doubt that she and her sisters spent their lives in heroic service to many destitute people and not too many of us can forget the truth she spoke to power at the 1994 prayer breakfast.  But there were troubling signs of indifferentism throughout her writings, at least in the early days.  There is this quote from A Simple Path: "I’ve always said that we should help a Hindu become a better Hindu, a Muslim become a better Muslim, a Catholic become a better Catholic."  We know that the only way a Hindu, Muslim or anyone else can become "better" is to embrace the One True Faith, not to become further entrenched in their false religions.  The Bellarmine Forum carries an article about the relationship between Mother Teresa and Father John Hardon.  While it rightly praises Mother's many virtues, we see starting in the second paragraph testament to her unwillingness to teach the creeds of the Faith, saying "her sisters were there to help the poor".  So the imparting of the Faith would not have assisted the poor?  But Father was there, at the behest of Pope John Paul II, to equip the sisters to engage in that aspect of charity and I believe that they did.  But did Mother ever walk back that statement as quoted from A Simple Path?

It does seem that at least in the first stage of the ministry of the Missionaries of Mercy, Mother Teresa was content to focus on the Corporal Works of Mercy to the exclusion of the Spiritual Works of Mercy.  I'll now link to an article by Msgr Charles Pope, written over a year ago, entitled "What Ever Happened To The Spiritual Works Of Mercy?"  It is worth careful study, as are the comments below.  I truly am glad that Pope John Paul II, through Father Hardon, corrected that short-coming in the Missionaries of Mercy.

Let's move onto Islam.  I'll now post an account of an interview granted by Cardinal Burke.  In that interview, His Eminence states that the belief that Christians and muslims worship the same god stems from relativism.  It might be indifferentism, too, such as the one seen Mother Teresa's quote in A Simple Path.  It is quite blasphemous to state that those who behead babies, stone rape victims, engage in terrorist bombings by using their own children, etc, etc, in the name of their god, somehow worship the One, True God.  Yet that is what progressive church leaders thrust down our throats, as our post-Christian culture makes ever-increasing concessions to muslims while treating Christians - particularly faithful Catholics - as de facto "niggers of the new age".

Again we see the Church hierarchy welcoming in this heresy, not only in the misguided indifferentism rightly condemned by Cardinal Burke, but also in troubling actions by Pope Francis.  Recall his allowance of muslim prayers to the false "allah" idol within the Vatican gardens and his washing of the feet of muslims during Holy Thursday services.

These embraces of both humanism and indifferentism by progressives in the Church not only facilitate cultural suicide, but also facilitate the damnation of immortal souls by holding up to them lies as though they were truths.

Has The Christian West Lost The Will To Survive?

Cardinal Carlo Caffarra of the Archdiocese of Bologna retired this weekend, having reached the age of 75 (a few years ago).  He has been an opponent of the LGBT agenda that seems to be running amok in Church circles and even in the Vatican itself. He pointed out that no civilization has survived that has ennobled the vice of homosexuality.  He said, "Europe is dying.  And maybe it no longer has any will to live."  That last sentence has more than just a ring of truth to it, and it would explain a lot.

It would explain the utter carelessness and even hostility that so many in the west evince against their Christian heritage, history and customs, and yes, God Himself.  It would explain the lack of interest in having children, let alone passing on their cultural heritage to them.  It would explain their utter capitulation to socialism and progressivism in their midst.  It would explain their willingness and even eagerness to admit into their midst hordes of jihadists masquerading as "refugees".

It also sheds some light on some bizarre and quite frankly, anti-Catholic things that have been emanating from the Vatican lately.  A few days ago, the Vatican's Commission for Religious Relations with the Jews put out a verbose document called "The Gifts And The Calling Of God Are Irrevocable".  We are basically being urged not to approach the evangelism of Jews with the same urgency as we are with other religions.  In a post on the National Catholic Register page, Jimmy Akin tries vainly to put a happy spin on it, but it falls flat on its face.  On the other hand, to their immense credit, the evangelical organization "Jews For Jesus" rightly denounced the document for the nonsense that it is.  More ominously, Pope Francis, during his African jaunt, visited the "blue mosque" and prayed towards mecca.  See this video; while I take exception with their "anti-pope" comments, they are quite correct when they say that the pope committed objective sin against the Faith.  All in all, at the very top, with the pope, we see a denial of the primacy of Jesus Christ and His Church, the foundation of Western culture.

In January 2006, First Things published a piece written by Pope Benedict XVI entitled "Europe And Its Discontents".  He briefly summarized the history of Europe, from the Roman Empire up till present times.  The article also expounds greatly upon the statement by Cardinal Caffarra quoted above, with the Pope Emeritus stating that "Europe is infected by a strange lack of desire for the future."  I commend Pope Benedict for his comprehensive view of these serious problems of western civilization and the ramifications they pose for all of humanity.

So now we can see that the Western world is, by apathy and collective self-hatred, committing suicide.  Its Christian soul is withering away. The Western world by and large has rejected the One True God.  In slaughtering millions of babies and making a mockery of marriage (and in many other ways), we as a whole have ejected God from our lives (in addition to robbing ourselves of our own progeny). But nature abhors a vacuum. We still yearn for something greater than ourselves, and the evil one will move to fill that yearning with his counterfeits.  Thus we now flirt with, and are enslaving ourselves to, progressivism and Islam.  Read that link.  On the surface, it would seem that progressivism and islam should be at odds with each other - but they're not!  They share the same lust for centralized power whereas Christianity embraces the dignity of the individual.  Thus they unite against Christians in order to subjugate people to their unholy domination.  In our mad self-loathing, we are not so much submitting ourselves to these onslaughts as much as we are rushing head-on to our own slaughter.  Why else would the progressives in the USCCB join the constant braying for the indiscriminate opening of our borders to islamic terrorists?  Why else would the USCCB be silent as the Kim Davis' of the nation are vilified?  Why else do the Dolans and Wuerls of the Church allow reprobates to take communion while they maltreat faithful Catholics (see the post following this)?

We need to get serious and pray for God's mercy on His Church and our civilization.  We must speak and act as well.  Ora et labora.

Vatican Official Fisichella Displays Politically Correct Stupidity In Wake Of Attack On Paris

The Toronto Catholic Witness reported on the response of Archbishop Salvatore Fisichella in the wake of the Muslim attack on Paris.  The head of the Pontifical Council For The New Evangelization repeated the very common modern error of equating the false idol "allah" with the One True God.  In addition, he neglected to mention the name "Jesus Christ" - not even once.  In light of this egregious blunder, we have reason to dread what this "new evangelization" will look like under his watch.

This is by far not his first blunder.  Voice of the Family published an interview in which he said he would allow adulterers to receive Holy Communion owing to "primacy of conscience".  Then back in 2010 he undermined the authority of another bishop when the latter excommunicated two abortionists  and a woman when the abortionists did their deed on the woman's 12-year-old daughter.

Let's be clear.  Pope Francis retains this man (and many other equally unqualified men) in his position at the Vatican.  As long as the pope retains him there, he shares responsibility for the crap that oozes from his mouth.

The Smoke Of Satan Within The Church

Pope Paul VI is said to have uttered the phrase "the smoke of Satan is within the Church".  I believe he said this in the wake of the Vatican II conference and the wholescale destruction of much of Church tradition done in the so-called "spirit of Vatican II".  These days I believe we are seeing such smoke coming through several key avenues:
  • The Vatican embrace of climate-change envirowhackoism as evidenced by last week's conference hosted by the Pontifical Academy for Sciences
  • The willingness of prelates to kowtow to the gay-mafia agenda, as evidenced by last October's sin-nod
  • Vatican acquiesence towards Islam, as displayed by the pope's allowance of muslim prayers on Vatican property and by other strange behaviors towards islam (as evidenced by Cardinal McCarrick).
  • Malevolence towards those upholding authentic tradition, evidenced in the suppression of the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate and treatment meted out to faithful clergy such as Cardinal Burke and Father Guarnizo
  • The involvement of the Vatican in partnerships with organizations that fund abortion, contraception, sterilization to the point of directing these organizations in their malevolent activities.
  • The denial of the above-mentioned evils by obstinate pollyannas, who delight in denouncing the messenger rather than addressing the message
As an example of the last bullet-point, I present to you an article by George Weigel.  He seems to take great amusement, if not scorn, at the concerns raised by faithful Catholics regarding ominous signs that point towards Vatican embrace of UN climate-change and population control goals.  What he thought he was accomplishing with his mutation of the Gospel of Luke is beyond me.  He sneeringly points out that no one has read the soon-to-be-released article.  I must wonder if he bothered to read the report that was issued by the Pontifical Academy for Sciences (probably written by Jeffrey Sachs).  This report openly calls for embrace of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and population control.  I suppose the answer to my rhetorical question is "no", for that might force him to remove rose-colored glasses.

Looking at the second point, we are dismayed to learn that in London next Sunday, Cardinal Vincent Nichols will celebrate Mass especially for gays.  Nowhere in this article do we read that these homosexuals are living chastely and not engaging in perversion.  Nowhere do we read that they are receiving real pastoral help to live according to God's laws.  This is kowtowing to political correctness - at the expense of the souls of those gays who need the truth for their salvation.

In yesterday's Vortex, Michael Voris dwells on the loss of England to protestantism.  At 1:25 he asks how England could have fallen so quickly, then answers:  "Cowardice and political machinations of the bishops at the time."  The church was corroded from within by the smoke prevalent at that age.  We must pray that the smoke be removed and shine the light through it.

We Are The Church Militant - NOT The Church Mellow

I learned from the Telegraph today that the Holy Father has dismissed Daniel Anrig from his post as commandant of the Swiss Guard, a position he held for five years.  The Pope announced this in a one-sentence press release.  While there were no specific reasons given, the Holy Father is said to want the Guard to be "less rigid" in its rules and even "less military".  Given recent patterns of behavior, I find these theories to be most plausible.

I'll be frank.  This is just one more instance of him thumbing his nose at customs and protocols that have been a part of the papacy for hundreds of years.  They may seem like minor matters (such as the slippers and apartments), but minor gaffes often turn into bigger gaffes (and they have).  However, let's look at the Swiss Guard, shall we?  By definition, they are soldiers.  While there is much ceremonial significance to their roles, they do have military training.  Their duties require military demeanor.  Anrig is being sacked because he takes seriously his role to protect the pope.  I understand his successor has been chosen and I mean the following to reflect at all upon this gentleman, who I understand is also a Swiss Guard.  Does the pope think that a troupe of "pajama boy bubbas" will be adequate for the security that his role requires?  What does he think he's leaving for his successors?

For me, the Swiss Guard is a reminder that we are the Church Militant - a term that has been in use for hundreds of years.  St Paul spoke of the Church in military language.  Many of the early converts were Roman soldiers.  Only in the past fifty-sixty years has the "flower power" mental poison corroded the thinking of church leaders.  The former Cardinal Bergoglio would be among that generation of clergy most befuddled by that kool-aid.

Other manifestations of the "church mellow" (also known as Church of Nice) thinking were occasioned by the pope's recent trip to Turkey.  It was bad enough that he prayed in a heathen temple, but upon his return, he told reporters that "islam is a religion of peace" and "the koran is a book of peace".  These statements are not only a denial of the truth of islam, but are a slur on the memories of those who've been, and continue to be, butchered by muslims precisely because they are Christians.  I link now to an article - with a video showing the "religion of peace" in action.  WARNING - it is a video of a beheading; that is why I will not post it here.  Please be of strong stomach and keep children away.  I link to it only to dispel the dangerous notion that "islam is a religion of peace".  Nothing could be more untrue.  Pope Francis - and Cardinal McCarrick - will you now wake up?  We need real men - not aging hippies - to stand up for Christ!

Speaking of real men, please watch the Vortex below to understand how some church leaders are systematically discouraging authentic Catholic masculinity - such as displayed by Anrig.

Cardinal McCarrick Channels His Inner Imam - Again!

Nine years ago, Cardinal McCarrick addressed some Jordanian dignitaries at the Catholic University of America.  In his prayer incantation, he invoked "allah" (as though it were a true deity) three times!  Guess how many times he invoked Jesus Christ?  Zero-zip-nada!  Read it from this blog's sister site here http://www.restore-dc-catholicism.com/McCarrick%20watch.htm and scroll all the way to the bottom.  Please read the text of the complete address.  Here are more incredible McCarrick gaffes relating to Islam.  Two days ago he added yet another.

Two days ago at a press conference in Washington - arranged by the Muslim Public Affairs Council, he again offered islamic-sounding incantations (I will not call that idolatrous screed "prayer"!), saying less-than-edifying pronouncements:
  • "In the name of God, the Merciful and Compassionate" - an islamic invocation, roughly analogous to the Sign of the Cross for Catholics
  • "Mohammed the prophet, peace upon him" - again, another nod to the islamic heresy - never mind that Mohammed was a pedophile who murdered anyone standing in the way of his false creed
I see no sign that the Cardinal invoked the name of Jesus Christ at least once - just as happened nine years ago at Catholic University of America.  Please read that entire article as it points out the horrid ways that McCarrick contradicted historical fact.

I am so grateful that McCarrick has retired and can no longer vote in papal conclaves.  He still manages to make a mockery of the Faith - with the permission if not approval of Cardinal Wuerl.  Lately the Vortex has been focusing on the evil that progressive bishops have been wreaking on the faith.  Here is yet one more sad example.  I'm sure another will appear in a matter of weeks if not days.

Will Pope Francis Speak Out For Asia Bibi??

Asia Bibi is a Catholic woman in Pakistan.  She has been imprisoned and is awaiting execution for "blasphemy".  In other words, she made plain her Catholicism.

She wrote to Pope Francis to beg his assistance in saving her life.  Recalling how previous pontiffs have pleaded for mercy when cold-blooded killers faced capital punishment, I find it hard to fathom how any Catholic leader can remain silent when a fellow Catholic is about to be murdered for being a Catholic.  I pray that not all our Church leaders are completely cowed by the thug-creed known as Islam (although prominent American bishops are).

Let us pray that Pope Francis intercedes for this woman.

Open Letter To Pope Francis From Geert Wilders

Geert Wilders is a political leader in the Netherlands who for several years has been sounding the alarm against the Islamification of the Netherlands.  He could just as well be referring to the "islamification" of Europe.  In all honesty, I think his views and opinions of Islam are completely accurate.  He appears to have no regards for political correctness; the progressives besmirch him as an "islamophobe", but so what?

On December 6 he released his open letter to Pope Francis.  He voices concerns about overly-conciliatory language emanating from the Vatican regarding Islam.  Towards the end of his letter he states, "nothing will be gained by a refusal to face reality."  To which I can only add "amen.

The Vortex On How Evil Works!

They're right.  It's time to cut through the politically correct slop and call the spade a spade.  Click here if you can't see embedded video.

By the way - speaking of evil, here's another Vortex dealing with Islam and Obama's fascination with it.  Embedding for this video has been disabled, so you'll have to click here to watch it on the Real Catholic TV youtube channel.

St Rose Of Lima To Host Radical Muslim Imam In June

I first got wind of this in a blurb in my own parish bulletin.  It was entitled "Finding A Pathway to Peace: Why Christian-Muslim Relations Matter".  That was enough to raise red flags - flags that really went flying when I saw that St Rose of Lima in Gaithersburg is hosting this session.  A more detailed description of the program is on St Rose's own site.

Just who is Imam Johari Abdul Malik?  Google his name, and take a look at this.  He is the imam of Dar Al Hijrah Islamic Center of Falls Church, VA.  Apparently, when he was discussing with his congregation the impact of 9-11, he took the opportunity to laud one of his congregation who was a Hamas operative who had just been arrested for videotaping the structure of Maryland's Chesapeake Bay Bridge.  Another notable attendee of that mosque was Nidal Malik Hasan - the Fort Hood shooter.  Read some more about this mosque and its extremely chequered double life.  Considering the two-faced natuer of this mosque, and by extension, its leadership, look at the title of this talk that Malik is slated to give at St. Rose: "Islam: A religion of peace or of terrorism?"  The answer will probably be similarly two-faced; the attendees will be given glowing assurances that "Islam is a religion of peace", but the actions and associations of the mosque will communicate another answer altogether.

On June 13, a Muslim woman named Farhanahz Ellis, who is with the All Dulles Area Muslim Society, will speak of the basics of the Muslim faith and "women and Islam".  She herself is a convert to Islam - from Catholicism (Odd!  The St Rose blurb doesn't mention that teensy little detail!).  In other words, she's an apostate coming to talk with Catholics?  Hmmm..  I hope it's not lost on her that she is an apostate who will receive an audience from the faith from whom she "converted".   An interesting question to ask is what happens to Muslims who dare to convert to Christianity?  What would she say if confronted with some of these stories, or these

But wait!  There's more!  Apparently there was a "bonus" session this past Friday featuring none other than Cardinal McCarrick.  He spoke on "Christian-Muslim Relations".  Unfortunately, in September of 2005, His Eminence gave us a glimpse of how he prioritizes "Christian-Muslim" matters, as detailed in this blog's associate website.  Click here and read the last article at the bottom of the page.

Islam is NOT a religion of peace.  St Rose of Lima is wrong for providing a forum so that Islamic radicals can lure naive progressives into passivity and even compliance with their aim of the islamification of our culture.  The pastor and the DC chancery should be ashamed of themselves for letting this travesty occur on Catholic property.

UN Resolution - Criticism Of Islam A "Crime"

Here it is.  So the UN bloviates that it is a crime to criticize the violent underpinnings of Islam.  Well ain't that just tough toenails.  I guess we're all going to find jail to be a bit crowded.

Hey!  For good measure, let's tell the truth about the United Nations, and what a collosal waste of money and real estate that it is.

UN = Useless Nincompoops

And I Thought The Carbon Fast Was Disgraceful!

Perhaps it still is for the Catholics.  After all this nonsense is occurring in the Episcopalean Church.  An Episcopal priest, for Lent, wants to adopt Islamic practices "to gain a deeper understandng of the faith".

I have to hand it to the Episcopal bishop there.  He put the priest on notice that if the nonsense continues, there will be a defrocking.  Now I might add that this priest was Roman Catholic, but didn't appreicate our "conservative viewpoints".  Hmmm... I wonder what he thinks Islamic viewpoints are.

Yoo Hoo! Father Daly and Catholic Standard! Please Read - If You Dare!

This past Thursday I took issue with the breathtaking ignorance of Father Daly and the Catholic Standard regarding the Ground Zero mosque and Islam as a world view.  Here I present more evidence, more food for thought for Father Daly, Cardinal McCarrick, the Standard and the rest of the "golly-gee-whiz-can't-we-all-just-get-along" head-in-the-clouds crowd.  I hope they take it to heart, but won't be one bit surprised if they don't, seeing how they're beholden to their progressive puppet-masters with megabucks and political clout.  Anyway, here goes.

We see here how this "religion of peace" is overtaking Paris.  Note the arrogance of them as they literally take over the streets.  There does seem to be some resistance underway, and I hope they're successful.

Now Jihad Watch is raising more questions about the funding of this mosque - and Andrew Cuomo's stonewalling of an investigation into such, despite a majority of New Yorker's wishes for such investigation.  I'll now link to an article written by my colleague at the Orlando Truth giving some historical perspective about Islam - and a theory as to why the specific date of September 11 was chosen for the attacks.

The preceding is some "food for thought" - should the Standard et al dare to try a morsel!

How to Endanger American Troops?

Why, that's easy!  The answer is, "invite Franklin Graham to speak at the Pentagon during the National Day of Prayer on May 6th".  (Yes, Obama-philes!  There IS a National Day of Prayer!)

Now just how does the son of Billy Graham earn such acolades?  Well, it seems that he had the honesty and courage to call Islam an "evil" religion after adherents of the so-called "religion of peace" did their "peaceful" actions on September 11, 2001.  Thus he would offend Muslims who work at the Pentagon, says the Military Religious Freedom Foundation.

That's odd!  I don't recall Mr. Graham being at Fort Hood during that shooting several months ago.  Enough of the political correctness run amok!

Could this be a reason why that dopey judge tried to rule that the National Day of Prayer is unconstitutional?
