Vatican's Flirtation With Climate Change Leads To More Squalid Associations
Again we owe much gratitude to the Lepanto Institute for smoking out some "smoke of Satan". They discovered that within days of the issuance of Laudato Si, Archbishop Bernardito Auza, Aposotoic Nuncio to the UN, gave formal approval to the "Sustainable Development" goals of the United Nations. The official Vatican statement, made on behalf of Pope Francis, stated, "We support the verbatim inclusion of the sustainable development goals and targets as in the Report of the OWG (Open Working Group)." We all know what that term "verbatim" means in this context; the Vatican has put its stamp of approval to all the sustainable development goals; that includes "sexual and reproductive rights". Of course that means contraception, sterilization and abortion.
Read the Lepanto article for more detail. I do have one minor disagreement with Lepanto. Towards the end, they opine that the archbishop and the pope don't understand the ramifications of the sustainable development goals. I believe the only way that could possibly be true if both the pope and this archbishop were absolutely clueless dunderheads. Can we believe that without being simpletons ourselves? Of course not: not when "sustainable development" and various synonyms are splattered all throughout Laudato Si itself.
But there is evidence to make clear that the Vatican, all the way to the pope, understand very well what is entailed by the phrase "sustainable development". A key component of that evidence is the plethora of progressives and anti-life personalities who, at the behest of the Vatican, are providing input to the "climate change" initiatives of the Vatican: Ban Ki-Moon, Jeffrey Sachs, Hans Schnellnhuber. It seems that this evidence is growing before our very eyes.
Word now comes to us via Catholic News Agency that yet another such individual will be working with Cardinal Turkson. She is Naomi Klein and she describes herself as a "secular Jewish feminist". She states that she was "surprised" to be invited to speak at a Vatican environmental summit. Well, many of us share her surprise, albeit for different reasons. She clearly has Marxist leanings (like so many in the Vatican these days) and has gone so far as to support the Occupy movement.
We clearly are getting an unambiguous picture of the attitudes of many in the Vatican when it comes to population control. Whether they intend it or not, they are lending credibility to baby murder.

Pope Francis Needs To Fire His Current Ghostwriter
Now it seems that this environmental encyclical will be delayed by Cardinal Gerhard Muller in his capacity as Prefect for the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith owing to theological deficiencies. As the Cardinal stated in an interview, the mission of the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith is "to provide the theological structure of a pontificate". Moreover, the Apostolic Constitution states that the Congregation must "promote and safeguard the doctrine on faith and morals in the whole Catholic world".
Cardinal Muller is to be commended for putting the breaks on this encyclical. Besides the many serious shortcomings of this new papal envirowhacko fad (and I'll elaborate in a few minutes), I wonder if Muller is concerned about some of Fernandez's other mindsets, such as the ones evinced in Fernandez's book entitled "Heal Me With Your Mouth: The Art Of Kissing". My! He certainly is a man with, uh, many interests! Or is he just getting the "smell of sheep" on himself?
I wrote a bit about that one-day envirowhacko meeting hosted by the Pontifical Academy for Sciences last week. Elaborating on that, I penned an article on this topic that will appear in a local pro-life publication. When it comes out I'll link to it. Meanwhile I'll post below an excerpt from that article that elaborates upon the anti-life screed (see here) that is the report from the meeting.
(begin excerpt)
A thorough read of the document makes plain that it is nothing more than an apologia for the United Nations Sustainable Goals initiatives. The authors make no attempt to disguise it. Another key attendee at this summit was none other than UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, who also has been known to advocate for abortion. I refer you to this UN link: http://www.unece.org/sustainable-development/sustainable-development/home.html. Interestingly enough, scrubbed from this link is any mention of Agenda 21, an action plan that arose out of several meetings with regard to “sustainable development”. Wikipedia gives some details of it, albeit rather sympathetic, owing to wikipedia’s own leftist bias: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agenda_21. Many see Agenda 21 for the snake in the grass that it is and are sounding the alarm; see http://www.teaparty911.com/issues/what_is_agenda_21.htm and http://www.freedomadvocates.org/.
The information available about “sustainable development” and Agenda 21 makes clear the betrayal of the Faith that the Vatican hierarchy is committing by lending its moral voice to “one-world-government” and even to “population control”. It is particularly scandalous that these Vatican agencies signed onto a thinly-disguised apologetics effort for abortion – in the name of the “environment” – just a few weeks prior to the anticipated papal encyclical on the environment. Catholics are reminded that while the Magisterium can pronounce infallibly only on matters pertaining to Faith and Morals, it does not have the same authority regarding matters scientific and/or economic.

Did Cardinal Muller see similar issues in the encyclical itself? Now the link to the GloriaTV expose of Archbishop Fernandez..

Pope Francis Strikes Hands With Anti-Life Mayors Promoting Death In Guise of Climate Change Concerns
As Breitbart points out, Tuesday's seminar was immediately followed by another, in conjunction with the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network on Cities and the Sustainable Development Agenda entitled "Prosperity, People and Planet in the Cities". Notice how that phrase "sustainable development" keeps popping up like kudzu? Ladies and gentlemen, I believe we are being bombarded with that phrase deliberately so that we will be accustomed to it and not notice when the death-dealing underpinnings of "sustainable development" are fully implemented in our midst.
The pope addressed the attendees at the first meeting; Zenit has the full English text. While it is indeed a rambling mess, we can see within it the insinuations of progressive poison. I'm going to address a few of these points. Again, there seems to be very little organization of thought here but there are some odd things that must be pointed out.
He ended one paragraph by claiming that "wars are an element of the imbalance of environment". No. James 4:1-5 has a bit to say of the origins of wars. Mother Teresa of Calcutta had words of wisdom on the topic when, at the 1994 prayer breakfast, she uttered, "But I feel that the greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion, because it is a war against the child, a direct killing of the innocent child, murder by the mother herself. And if we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another?" Recall that many, if not most, of the attendees of this workshop are actively facilitating this "destroyer of peace".
Further on down the pope said, "man is creator of lack of culture because he doesn't look after the environment." The only way that can be accurate is if "environment" = God. Culture becomes debased when man's disobedience to God becomes ingrained in the culture, as has happened to western civilization over these past few decades. Hallmarks of this "lack of culture" have been:
- the removal of any mention of God in official public life (ending of prayer in schools, removal of crosses and Ten Commandment plaques from public buildings, etc)
- the legalization and even promotion of contraception and abortion by civil government
- the exaltation of sexual perversion and disdain for true families by the culture at large.
I'll be impressed with this "very big moral impact" when de Blasio and ilk do a 180-degree turn and stand for the unborn babies and true marriage in their respective localities. Otherwise it will be made plain that one effect of this whole charade is to let pro-abortion pols be enabled in their "lack of culture" policies by misguided papal affirmation.

Taking The Mantle Of Church Militant
Two days ago, Lianne Lawrence of LifeSiteNews reported on Pope Francis' growing alliance with pro-death elements of the United Nations. The latest sign of this alliance is the Vatican's support of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. I'm not going to rehash all the horrors behind this alliance as the LSN piece does an admirable job of that. It links to an analysis done by Voice of the Family. Therein we see the role that Amoris Laetitia plays in facilitating the SDGs. The analysis ends by saying that "Catholics must resist in the manner most appropriate for their position with the Church, this alliance". Most people reading this blog are lay, as am I. Our "position" is much more far-reaching than the "pray, pay and obey" motto that informally defined the role of the laity in the Church.
Phil Lawler of Catholic Culture said something similar. In the early days of this papacy, Lawler had done his level best to put the performance of Pope Francis in the most favorable light possible. However he seems to realize that despite all the lipstick one might put on a pig, the pig is a pig. While acknowledging that Pope Francis is indeed the pontiff, he then asks, "In a large family, how should a son behave when he realizes that his father’s pathological behavior threatens the welfare of the whole household? He should certainly continue to show respect for his father, but he cannot indefinitely deny the danger. Eventually, a dysfunctional family needs an intervention."
We the Church Militant are being confronted with the same question. How will we, the laity, answer it? I for one do not think that our default stance should be to sit on our hands and suffer the insults in silence. The insults fall not on us alone, but on our children and those for whom we care and who may well be scandalized by all the progressive skulduggery in the Vatican to the point of losing their souls.
Yesterday I posted on Catholic street activism. That's part of the answer. However, what are we going to do when:
- we see flaming gays strutting up the Communion line (as happened at my parish five years ago). The Rainbow Coalition pulls this stunt quite frequently.
- pro-abortion people (politicians and even abortionists) receiving Holy Communion
- we are confronted with liturgical dancers strutting their stuff, as in the video below
- vile heresies spew forth from the homily pulpit
- we see the nave turn into a social hall before or after Mass
- women get their feet washed during Holy Thursday Mass

Pope Embracing Envirowhackoism For Deconstruction Of The Faith
Just a few days after that gab-fest, Pope Francis spoke at another - this with a specific goal of implementing the Sustainable Development Goals. Now read closely what the pope is saying. He's talking about conversion in implementing this thinly-disguised propaganda for population control and earth-worship. One does not talk of "conversion" unless one is changing their beliefs and actions regarding God and morality. He's advocating rank idolatry. The blogger whom I cited in the main paragraph states that Raul Duarte has some "splainin" to do. Well he's not the only one with "splainin" to do - I refer to the pope. By the way, as you read the CNA piece, did you notice all the people who seem to be leaders of false religions? If the pope wanted actual conversions, he passed up a golden opportunity for preaching the Faith (as is his mission); that's more "splainin" that he'll need to do.
In more toadying to envirowhacko population-control enthusiasts, the pope will participate in a "Pan Amazon Synod" in Brazil in October. As Bradley Eli put it, "The Pan-Amazon Synod will be focusing on environmentalism and social justice issues rather than on strengthening the faith of Catholics, who are losing their religion." Once upon a time, I thought that this lack of proper focus was merely thoughtless neglect. I now believe that this loss of Godly faith is by design. Take a look at that picture of the pope. It is most inappropriate for the Vicar of Christ to festoon himself in pagan gee-gaw, and grin while holding a picture of himself surrounded by pagan imagery.

Pope Francis, Health Care, And Sustainable Development Goals
If we recall the meetings that the pope had before Laudato Si was inflicted upon us, we will recall that he is all on board with the UN's Sustainable Development goals. The pope lends a facade of moral credibility to these Masonic goals. With President Trump gone, the progressives - and that includes the pope - have a more clear path towards the implementation of these goals. All this and more was just discussed on this evening's Anchor Team broadcast by the Lepanto Institute.

A Monstrous Agenda Comes Into Focus
Well, in order to advance a socialistic one-world government where the government is seen as the master that meets all needs, one must try to usurp the One True God and His Church. That is done effectively by undermining her teachings and traditions. We see today that the pope is taking pot-shots at priestly celibacy and tinkering with the order of Mass. We've seen how Amoris Laetitia insinuates the idea that adulterers can receive Holy Communion.
Of course, at the beginning of his papacy we saw his disregard for ceremonial traditions such as the papal slippers, the apartments, etc. Ladies and gentlemen, while these things seem minor, they are traditions that link the current occupant of Peter's chair to a legacy and responsibility that far transcends what might be his own preferences. Pope Francis thumbed his nose at these. Now we see that these so-called minor snubs were only precursors to much more dangerous problems.
I hope that by now, most thinking people have their eyes wide open. Let us pray and be prepared to speak out.

Cardinal Wuerl Swills Down Climate-Change Kool-Aid
This gab-fest was sponsored by the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace. If that name has a familiar ring to it, it's because that's the council to which Pope Francis named the flaming dissident Fr. Timothy Radcliffe as consulter.
While there seemed to be no overt mention of "population control" at this meeting as there was three weeks ago, the Cardinal did refer to "sustainable development" as a "sign of the times". We do know that the concept of "sustainable development" does segue into population control and governmental growth.
While the Cardinal did acknowledge the role of "business interests", we see other sorts of "business" coming onto the scene. Also at that meeting were representatives of World Resources Institute and New Climate Economy. Take a look at the page listing all of WRI's "experts and staff". It goes on and on and on! What kind of operating budget does this outfit have? Can we see that whole industries are growing out of the "climate change" schtick? It doesn't seem to be limited to Al Gore's "carbon offset" swindles.
I took a look at the list of donors for WRI, having a suspicion regarding the identity of one of them. Sure enough! There it is! The Open Society Foundations - in other words, George Soros. I knew his paw prints had to be all over this. Joining him we also see the Rockefeller Brothers Fund - all enemies of Jesus Christ and His Church and shills for one-world government.
In light of all this dangerous tomfoolery in which our bishops and even the pope seem to be engaging, I'd suggest careful study of this post from One Peter Five. Above all, pray and receive the Sacrament frequently.

Communism And Freemasonry Controlling The Vatican
Tonight's Anchor Team focused on Lepanto Institute's expose of some Vatican organizations that are directly and unabashedly promoting communism, witchcraft and baby-slaughter. That expose was published two days ago and is linked here. Please note that there is more commentary beneath the video.
Please watch the whole thing for there are mentioned websites with additional information. In their discussion of communism and freemasonry, Hichborn and Maughan mentioned that Karl Marx and Fredrick Engels were greatly assisted by a British masonic lodge that took them under their wings, so to speak.
Also, please pay special attention to Hichborn's observations regarding so many of the "Catholic social justice" groups. Many if not most of them are focused solely on temporal concerns without nary a thought towards eternal salvation. It is the latter that is the Church's primary mission, for one day this earth will fade and their will only be heaven and hell. A sole focus only on earthly concerns is a surefire way of careening straight towards hell. That is one key reason why the Vatican's push for the covid cootie-jab is so nefarious, in addition to the fact that usage of these concoctions constitutes cooperation with the sin of baby-murder.
They have much to say about the socialistic bent of the United Nations, certainly as manifested through its presidents throughout the decades. Recall that two years ago Pope Francis erroneously said that we have a duty to obey the United Nations. I won't say that the pope has been duped by the communists in the UN. No, he is in fact a fully-knowledgeable collaborator with them. His shilling for the Sustainable Development goals and his constant hosting of Jeffrey Sachs and Ban-Ki Moon in preparation for Laudato Si certainly is proof of that.
Yesterday was the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. This is a good time to commit - or recommit - to praying it daily, as she requested at Fatima. While prayer is essential, it is not sufficient. Please take the time to inform yourselves of the ills of our Church and world. Plan to speak against the evils that you see, even if the sources of those evils wear miters. Use your rights as US citizens to take a stand for decency; we've seen plenty of parents do precisely that at various school board meetings lately. Emulate their examples. The time is short.

Pope Francis Appoints Jeffrey Sachs To Pontifical Academy Of Social Sciences
Readers of this blog will recall that I've written much about Jeffrey Sachs. He is a population control proponent who has openly advocated for contraception and abortion as means of "reaching a level and sustainable population". Because (not "despite" but "because") of that, he has been quite a fixture about the Vatican these past several years, having weighed in on Laudato Si, possibly Amoris Laetitia and various synod reports. In short, his pernicious and spiritually deadly musings have been promulgated by the Vatican.
Sachs, with Jewish roots, has never announced any conversion to Catholicism although he claims Catholic social teaching has influenced him. Of course that influence is of the progressive "social justice warrior" variety that is merely a facade for all things atheist and socialist, as evinced by his advocacy of baby-slaughter and his silence regarding human rights abuses in Red China.
I suppose all this, in the eyes of this current pope, makes Sachs a prime candidate for a position in the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences. That's right! A non-Christian pro-abort is now occupying an official position within a Vatican organization.
Please pray your Rosaries and please prepare to resist this pope when what he says or does runs counter to the Faith and Christian morality.

What's With These Argentine Bishops, Anyway???
Breitbart.com details the interview that C-Fam's Stefano Gennarini conducted with Bishop Marcelo Sanchez Sordono. In addition to being the head of the Pontifical Academy for Sciences and the Pontifical Academy for Social Sciences, he's from Argentina. We've heard lots from those two academies before, right? He sponsored the meeting three weeks ago that called for the implementation of population control. I did not know this until I just read the Breitbart piece but it seems that former Senator Tim Wirth also attended that meeting, at Sanchez's invitation. Wirth has been a proponent of "climate change", population control and abortion rights.
As Gennarini questioned Sanchez about the anti-life positions of Sanchez's invitees, the latter dodge the questions, choosing instead to take pot-shots at the Tea Party (Hey! At least they're hearing of us in the Vatican!) and those who "live off oil", whatever the hell that means. He made that crack when queried about his collaboration with proponents of baby-murder. He said he took direction from his superiors who authorized him to do so. His superiors! And pray, to which specific superior(s) does he refer?? Hmmm????
When asked about the problems of population control within the meeting, Sanchez replied,"..the draft SDGs [new development goals replacing the MDGs] don’t even mention abortion or population control. They speak of access to family planning and sexual and reproductive rights." So he claims everything is just hunky-dorry because it's only "reproductive rights"! Talk about grasping at straws! What he did with that ludicrous statement is create a distinction without a difference. Well, maybe he outright lied, for the report that came out of that meeting specifically called for "reaching a level and sustainable population". That direct quote can be found at the link to my earlier piece.
So now we have this Sanchez, we have Fernandez and Timothy Radcliffe has just been named to a Vatican post. No one can pretend that Pope Francis is ignorant of the dissidence of these men, especially when two of them are his fellow Argentines.

Pope Francis Did Obescience To Climate-Change Junk Science
United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and Jeffrey Sachs, Director of the Earth Institute, were in attendance. Voice of the Family issued a statement detailing their concerns regarding these individuals and their advocacies for abortion and "population control". The statement can be read at LifeSiteNews. The presence of these two causes many faithful Catholics much concern, especially as this summit occurs so close to the scheduled release of the much-ballyhooed papal encyclical on the environment.
Also of concern is the apparent bias towards blind acceptance of the climate-change junk science, a bias that seems to have made itself manifest in stifling the voices of those who differ from the progressives in attendance. Read this first-hand account of the treatment meted out to known opponents of the climate-change mantra during the meeting. One of those who dared to think independently (and who was under watch durng the meeting) was Lord Christopher Monckton. Speaking beforehand at a meeting held by the Heartland Institute and Cornwall Alliance, had some very direct words for the pope. He said to him in abstensia and on account of the Vatican meeting, "you demean the office that you hold and you demean the church whom it is your sworn duty to protect and defend and advance." In my opinion, Monkton is correct. The pope has no special expertise on scientific manners; when he brings the weight of the papal office to bear on personal opinions, he not only demeans his office, but he prostitutes it.
