Pope Embracing Envirowhackoism For Deconstruction Of The Faith

The blog Non Veni Pacem put up some commentary regarding the murder of Natacha Jaitt in Argentina that occurred two weeks before she was to testify against Gustavo Vera, long-time friend of Cardinal Bergoglio, now Pope Francis.  Security cameras detected suspicious activity in the area just after Jaitt died.  The blogger pointed out that Vera and Jeffrey Sachs were speakers at a Vatican conference held March 4-5.  The conference focused on Laudato Si and Sachs shilled for the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.  Journalists were not invited to this pow-wow.  Well, golly-jee!  I wonder why???

Just a few days after that gab-fest, Pope Francis spoke at another - this with a specific goal of implementing the Sustainable Development Goals.  Now read closely what the pope is saying.  He's talking about conversion in implementing this thinly-disguised propaganda for population control and earth-worship.  One does not talk of "conversion" unless one is changing their beliefs and actions regarding God and morality.  He's advocating rank idolatry.  The blogger whom I cited in the main paragraph states that Raul Duarte has some "splainin" to do.  Well he's not the only one with "splainin" to do - I refer to the pope.  By the way, as you read the CNA piece, did you notice all the people who seem to be leaders of false religions?  If the pope wanted actual conversions, he passed up a golden opportunity for preaching the Faith (as is his mission); that's more "splainin" that he'll need to do.

In more toadying to envirowhacko population-control enthusiasts, the pope will participate in a "Pan Amazon Synod" in Brazil in October.  As Bradley Eli put it, "The Pan-Amazon Synod will be focusing on environmentalism and social justice issues rather than on strengthening the faith of Catholics, who are losing their religion."  Once upon a time, I thought that this lack of proper focus was merely thoughtless neglect.  I now believe that this loss of Godly faith is by design.  Take a look at that picture of the pope.  It is most inappropriate for the Vicar of Christ to festoon himself in pagan gee-gaw, and grin while holding a picture of himself surrounded by pagan imagery.

Trump Defunds UNFPA Over Forced Abortion

President Trump has removed US funding from the United Nations Population Fund.  He did so because the UNFPA participates in China's policies of forced abortion.  LifeSiteNews has more details.  At the very least, US tax dollars will not be used to drag women into abortuaries so that their babies can be violently ripped out of their wombs.  It is very possible that quite a few babies will be saved on account of the abortion apparatus being cash-crimped.

One can now hear the screeching and howling of feminazis and population-control wonks everywhere.  By the way - about which population-control guru have we been hearing?  That's right!  Paul Ehrlich!  This forced-abortion shill was invited by the Vatican to address its "biological extinction" conference last month.  I suppose the "biological extinction of the human race" is near and dear to Ehrlich's heart, but I digress.  Given the bevy of pro-aborts who have been invited to speak at the Vatican and who have lent input into Laudato Si, we can imagine that they are not enthused about the defunding of the UNFPA.  Never have I thought that I'd see the day when the White House would be more pro-life than the Vatican, but such seems to be the case these days.

The population-control ghouls are not the only ones who sense that the gravy train is pulling into the station.  Church Militant has an article about an association of witches who are casting hexes on Trump.  The invocation of demons is very serious business.  At least they grasp the magnitude of the spiritual battle, albeit from the wrong side.  Do we?  Pray for protection of Trump and for all good people.  Pray for conversion of those embroiled in sin.  Do so now.

Advocate For Coerced Population Control To Speak At Vatican

When Laudato Si was being formulated, the Vatican invited many progressive hacks to conduct seminars and conferences in preparation.  Jeffrey Sachs, John Schnellnhuber and Naomi Klein come immediately to mind.  All of these people are flagrant proponents of "population control".  Within a preparatory report for Laudato Si called "Climate Change and the Common Good itself is an unmistakable call for "population control"; see this post for the direct quote.  I also link to another post on environmentalism junk science and suggest that you review the videos embedded therein.

In 1968, a left-wing ideologue named Paul Ehrlich released a book called "The Population Bomb".  This tome helped the population-control/enviromentalis juggernaut get underway.  In this book he advocated mandatory population control.  I quote: "we must have population control at home, hopefully through a system of incentives and penalties, but by compulsion of voluntary methods fail.  We must use our political power to push other countries into programs which combine agricultural development and population control."  The "voluntary methods", of course, include contraception and abortion.  As far as "compulsion", we see that in Communist China today with their barbaric forced abortions to enforce their "one child policy".  The man is flat-out advocating for big government (a prime progressive goal in and of itself) to engage in gulag-style mass murder of infants that would make both Hitler and Stalin resemble Mother Teresa in comparison.  It is not too far-fetched to guess that this man has much blood on his hands and is in grave danger off damnation as he continues to espouse his hell-spawned convictions

Incredibly, though, it seems that the Vatican, far from calling this man to repentance for his advocacy of murder, intends to give to him a forum by which he can continue to promulgate his anti-life and anti-God screeds.

The venue is a conference on "Biological Extinction", sponsored by the Pontifical Academies for the Sciences and Social Sciences, to be held late Feb - early March.  The program for this gab-fest is one huge propaganda piece telling the cliche-lie that mankind is ruining Mother Earth and we'd better do something about it yesterday or we'll all die".  See the LifeSite link for the program.   C-Fam listed a number of bald-faced lies committed by Ehrlich; I wonder how many will be in that paper that Ehrlich presents to that overpopulation hootenany next month.

By the way - who is paying for all these bogus conferences?  I'm beginning to think that a boycott of the Peter's Pence collection might be in order..

Deconstruction Of Church Tradition Under Pope Francis

After the grotesque display of satanic idolatry at St Peter's Basilica on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, we continue to see increasingly blatant attempts to deconstruct Church teaching.  Many of these attempts are from high Church officials, including Pope Francis.

Thanks to Toronto Catholic Witness, I was directed to the homily that Pope Francis gave on December 8th to inaugurate the "jubilee of mercy".  This is on the Vatican's website.  Here is the troubling passage: "Before all else, the Council was an encounter. A genuine encounter between the Church and the men and women of our time. An encounter marked by the power of the Spirit, who impelled the Church to emerge from the shoals which for years had kept her self-enclosed so as to set out once again..." (emphasis mine)

I agree with TCW that in that phrase, Pope Francis spit in the eye all his predecessors, some of them saints, blesseds and doctors of the Church, precisely because they acted as shepherds who guarded their flocks.  While this pope might prefer that we take the "smell of the sheep", his predecessors (by and large) sought to preserve the Church in the odor of sanctity.

In a recent interview, Cardinal Turkson, President of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace said that "some form of birth control" might help with "overpopulation" and resultant "food shortage".  He also stated it could help with "climate change".  He then reminded us all of the shameful way in which Pope Francis treated the woman who was expecting her eighth child.  It would be an interesting thing if that eighth child were to confront the pope and tell him a thing or two, but I digress!

He must have realized his Freudian slip for he tried to backpedal, saying only "natural forms of birth control" were acceptable.  I don't buy it; else, why would he have used the general, nebulous "some form" descriptor for birth control?  More importantly, periodic abstinence from marital relations cannot be equated with what is commonly referred to as "birth control".  Voice of the Family is correct in opining that Turkson's remarks do lend credibility to the attempts to divorce marital relations from the procreation of children.  They certainly do make plain the linkage between "climate change" junk science with population control.

According to the Guardian, a Vatican document (name unknown) exhorts Catholics not to attempt to convert Jews to Christianity.  This document is from the Vatican commission for relationships with Jews.  Boys and girls, can you say "ecumenicide"?  You probably noticed during Triduum services that the traditional prayer for Jews to come to Christianity has been scuttled in recent years, so this manifestation of ecumenicide predates the current pontiff.  Now what was that again that we read in the Bible, at the end of several Gospels, where Jesus commands (not "suggest", not "request", but "command") the Apostles to baptize all "in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit"?  Or did the "god of surprises" change his mind?

As I read of this, I think of what St Paul wrote in several of his letters, how he wished that all his brother Jews would be converted.  I also think of St. Vincent Ferrar, who once marched into a synagogue, started preaching and converted thousands of Jews on the spot.  Paul!  Vincent!  Naughty-naughty!  Stop that now!  Leave the Jews (and others) to wallow in darkness!  Don't you know that we must be ecumenical?  Seriously though, how can one talk with a straight face about a "year of mercy" and yet not seek to bring others to the font of mercy, that is, Jesus Christ, who acts through His Church?

My blogging colleague Julie at Connecticut Catholic Corner put up a piece today entitled "The New Age Of Pope Francis' Church".  Read it for I concur with her.  I too pray for a holy pope who will save souls.  At this time, it appears that this pope will not be Pope Francis, but only God knows.  Let us pray.

Cardinal Pell Makes Plain Why Laudato Si Should Not Be Taken As Teaching

Cardinal Pell is to be commended for reminding the world that the Church cannot pronounce infallibly on matters of empirical science, or economics for that matter, because Our Lord has not granted her any mandate to do so.  She may teach infallibly on matters of faith and morals - but that's it.  All other matters are left to prudential judgment, given the parameters of faith and morals.  The encyclical makes pretentious claims that the "science" and "economics" promoted therein are the will of God; again that's impossible for those fields are not within the Church's competence.  One immediate outcome will be the reduction of credibility that will be ascribed when the pope does speak on matters of faith and morals, for people might understandably think that if the pope can botch up matters of science and economics in an encyclical (and he has!), why should they believe him when he speaks on matters of faith and morals?  Yes, such thinking would be erroneous and cannot be condoned, but the mess that is Laudato Si renders it understandable.

No doubt Cardinal Pell sees the potential for such real damage that Laudato Si will wreak (see here and here).  It is filled with progressive screed that not only was inspired by the rantings of Sachs and Shnellnhuber, but perhaps are the prattling of the same.  You'll notice that in the first half of the thing.  Here is a collection of my posts on LS; in those posts is a link to the English translation of the document.

The Catholic World Report recently put out a piece that takes issue with the faulty economics that are peppered throughout Laudato Si.  In Laudato Si, the pope raises the same alarmist tocsins regarding the "scarcity" of resources.  Now here's a salient point that CWR raises: "If the pope and others are ringing alarm bells, at times they seem to underestimate the creative power of human intelligence and freedom in the face of extreme scarcity of resources."  Many, if not all, progressives seem to think of man as being a mere consumer.  They fail, or more aptly, refuse to recognize that human labor and ingenuity is probably the most valuable resource imaginable.  That is why they are constantly kvetching for "population control" along with the abortion, contraception and sterilization that they think is necessary to attain "sustainable development".  That is why the "Sachs and Schnellnhuber" cabal seek to bring in others of their mindset such as Noami Klein.

This week's Catholic Standard had as its theme "preparation for the Pope's visit".  One "suggested activity" was to read Laudato Si.  I agree that it should be read so that all might see for themselves that it is permeated with progressive venom.  It is not in keeping with the traditions of our Church and must be both refused and resisted.

Yet Another Vatican Conference Will Promote Climate-Change Junk Science And Population Control

From the Catholic News Agency, we read that this conference will occur next week, July 21-22.  Ostensibly its purpose is to demonstrate a linkage between "climate change" and slavery.  Well, I daresay other linkages are made even more manifest by this conference.  The title of the conference is one indicator.  "Modern Slavery and Climate Change: the Commitment of the Cities" is the title of the workshop in question that will be held during the conference entitled "Prosperity, People and Planet: Achieving Sustainable Development in Our Cities".  The conference is sponsored by (surprise!) the Pontifical Academy of Sciences.

Let's focus on the conference title for now.  What two words indicate the underlying agenda with all this?  Sustainable Development!  We've seen that lots of times over the past few months, have we not?  Back in April, this same Pontifical Academy of Sciences hosted another symposium to prepare for the disastrous Laudato Si; the report produced therein specifically called for "reaching a level and sustainable population".  Recall that just after the release of Laudato Si, the Apostolic Nuncio to the UN gave the Vatican's formal approval to "the verbatim inclusion of the sustainable development goals and targets" of the UN.  That means that the Vatican has given approval for the usage of abortion, contraception and sterilization to accomplish those ends.  Oh sure, there might be the statements here and there decrying abortion, but they are far outweighed by the more insidious promulgation of concepts such as "climate change" and "sustainable development".

We also must consider whom the pope is taking into his confidence.  We've seen him include in various deliberations and conferences notorious "population control" advocates such as Jeffrey Sachs, Hans Schnellnhuber and others.  I point out that Schnellnhuber was recently appointed by the pope to the Pontifical Academy of Sciences.  Can anyone doubt that he had much to do with the putrid output of these symposiums and conferences?

I wrote a piece two months ago explaining how I see the "smoke of satan"entering the Church through a number of specific avenues; one of them is climate change, but they all seem to dovetail into each other.  We also see how the "climate change" hoax makes it easy for guilty parties to excuse their enabling of the gay agenda.

Almost two years ago I wrote of a pastor within the Archdiocese of Washington who publicly announced that he condoned homosexual conduct while counseling Catholics.  At that time I wondered aloud if he would be allowed to continue in his post, where he posed a danger to souls.  Lo and behold, this week's issue of the Catholic Standard indicates that he still holds his post.  Not only that, but the Standard is holding Father Daly and his parish up as examples.  Why?  Because they've "gone green"!  In Father's words, it's part of "a living faith".  So, never mind about the souls of the poor homosexuals who need the truth of Jesus Christ and His sacramental graces.  As long as the parish and pastor are "green" (and don't you just love his green cap?), who care about souls going to hell?

Remember - Laudato Si and the proceeds from these junk-summits do not stem from dogma.  They fall within the realm of "prudential judgment" at best.  Truth be told, the level of "prudence" isn't that high, as these things do reek of progressivism.  We are not required, as faithful Catholics, to give assent to them.  I'll leave you with two things: the first is an excellent article by John Zmirak.  The second is a link to some very relevant entertainment for a Friday evening.

If Personnel Is Policy, We Have Glaring Indications Of Dangerous Vatican Policy

Sandro Magister has done the Catholic world immense service by exposing the progressive machinations within the Vatican, particularly with its conduct during last October's sin-nod.  Eponymous Flower has more detail on Magister's service to truth.  Most recently he published a leaked version of the Laudato Sii encyclical, which is scheduled to be released tomorrow.  Tancred also details how Magister's Vatican press credentials were immediately revoked.  Dare we opine that Father Lombardi's outrage is rather biased?

Regretably Lombardi's alleged zeal for ethics seems to be a thin pretense for sacking Magister on the flimsiest of excuses.  Such bias is evidence by the people who are allowed to remain at the Vatican.  Who can forget the book theft engineered by Cardinal Baldiserri at the sin-nod?  How about Father Rosica's spiteful conduct in filing suit against Vox Cantoris?  So here we have a Prince of the Church engaged in mortal sin against the Seventh Commandment and a Vatican official engaged in unethical intimidation (fortunately for him his higher-ups yanked his leash).  To the best of my knowledge, they still retain their high positions, despite their arguably serious sins.  So yes, we do have a purging of the faithful from the Vatican.

Concurrent with this purging of the faithful is the placement of those whose public opinions are openly hostile to the Teachings of Jesus Christ.  As mentioned before here, Hans Joachim (John) Schnellnhuber, population control afficiando, will be one of the four who will assist tomorrow in the roll-out of Laudato Sii.  Schnellnhuber is on record as saying that the world's population should be reduced to under one billion people - a reduction of about six billion.  So how, dare we ask, does Schnellnhuber propose to accomplish this massive reduction?  We wait with bated breath for the answer to that question.

Perhaps the Vatican should have awaited the answer to that crucial question before they named him to the Pontifical Academy of Sciences.  Yes, you read that correctly.  A rabid population-control advocate, instead of receiving the boot on ass, is actually admitted to a Vatican position.  If we know his wishes to reduce the earth's population, surely the Vatican does too - and I mean the pope!

As the saying goes, personnel is policy.  I think we now have more than an inkling as to what Vatican policy is.  And yes, ladies and gentlemen, with all due honor and respect to the office of the papacy, we cannot kid ourselves and pretend that the current occupant of Peter's chair is blithely unaware of these events.  He is enabling them if not outright orchestrating them.  Please pray for him and for Holy Mother Church.

Laudato Si Has Been Leaked

Reports state that L'Espresso has obtained a draft copy of the thing in the Italian language.  The Vatican "deplores" the leak, calling it a "heinous act".  That might be arguably true since it seems the entire document is itself a heinous act.

The English is not yet out (to the best of my knowledge) but here are some snippets.  Warning!  Some of these translations will have leftist leanings; of course, given what we know so far of this encyclical, these translations may well be accurate.  That doesn't mean they are factually correct, just accurate with regard to the text of the encyclical itself.  Here are some takes from National Journal; here's some from the Guardian and from the Independent.

As you read these things, it does seem that the pope has been hoodwinked into following the "man caused all this global warming and we will all die if we don't stop making carbon footprints right now!" hysteria.  At least I hope he's being hoodwinked and not deliberately colluding with the one-world-government progressives like Jeffrey Sachs.  At any rate, he has joined the progressive clamor for one-world government and population control.  Take a look at the second comment from the Independent site.  The commenter is calling on the church, in light of the Vatican's erroneous embrace of the junk science to "halt population growth" and even "reduce population"; as horrid as that sounds, it is a logical "next step" to the mental brain-rot that seems to underlie this encyclical.  As stated before, "population control" is explicitly called for by the Pontifical Academy for the Sciences.

We even see hints of earth-worship in this mess.  At the beginning, the thing says, "the earth is protesting for the wrong that we are doing to her, because of the irresponsible use and abuse of the goods that God has placed on her."  Time for some basic thoughts on what constitutes personhood.  The earth is a planet: an inanimate object.  Inanimate objects, not being persons, do not protest.  They are not sentient beings and they have neither voice nor rights.  Any inanimate object, in the singular, has the impersonal pronoun "it" assigned to it: not the personal pronouns "she" or "her".  Got that?  Sheesh!  One can wonder why he didn't go all the way and call the earth "gaia".

Elsewhere in the document the pope stated,  "in this encyclical, I especially propose to enter into discussion with everyone regarding our common home."  No he doesn't.  He means to use the weight of his holy office to cram a progressive agenda down our throats.  As for "discussion", see this post for treatment that the Vatican meted out to Lord Christopher Monckton and other scientists who oppose the "climate change" scam.  In that post, I voiced my opinion that the Holy Father, by throwing the weight of the papacy behind global warming, is prostituting the dignity and authority of the Chair of Peter.  I not only stand behind by statement, I reiterate it.

The Independent article erroneously claims that an encyclical is the "highest level of teaching document a pope can issue".  Not true.  It is not solemnly proclaimed dogma.  Mark Rhoads put out a nice summary of the differences; rather than reinvent the wheel I link to it now.  Not even the science that the pope seems to invoke is behind the wacky theory of global warming.  We are not bound in conscience to swallow that kool-aid in order to be a Catholic in good standing.  I for one won't.

Oh, by the way.  The leak of the encyclical was called a "heinous act".  Here's another one, with heinous acting to boot. It probably has the Vatican's "bimbo video" beat for cheesiness.  It's from an envirowhacko group in Brasil called Observatorio Do Clima.  As you watch this, bear in mind that they're serious and obviously think this tripe is the greatest thing since "life's bread".  If they think this waste of bandwidth is going to inspire anything but uproarious laughter, the delusion is worse than I imagined.  Here goes..

Pope Francis Needs To Fire His Current Ghostwriter

Apparently Pope Francis has been using the services of a ghostwriter.  From One Peter Five we read that Archbishop Victor Manuel Fernandez, also from Buenos Aires, is the ghostwriter behind this much ballyhooed environmental encyclical that we all await with bated (?) breath.  He and the pope go back a good bit, as the Glora TV clip will illustrate.  Fernandez apparently had a hand in the writing of the Evangelii Gaudium encyclical.

Now it seems that this environmental encyclical will be delayed by Cardinal Gerhard Muller in his capacity as Prefect for the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith owing to theological deficiencies.  As the Cardinal stated in an interview, the mission of the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith is "to provide the theological structure of a pontificate".   Moreover, the Apostolic Constitution states that the Congregation must "promote and safeguard the doctrine on faith and morals in the whole Catholic world".

Cardinal Muller is to be commended for putting the breaks on this encyclical.  Besides the many serious shortcomings of this new papal envirowhacko fad (and I'll elaborate in a few minutes), I wonder if Muller is concerned about some of Fernandez's other mindsets, such as the ones evinced in Fernandez's book entitled "Heal Me With Your Mouth: The Art Of Kissing".  My!  He certainly is a man with, uh, many interests!  Or is he just getting the "smell of sheep" on himself?

I wrote a bit about that one-day envirowhacko meeting hosted by the Pontifical Academy for Sciences last week.  Elaborating on that, I penned an article on this topic that will appear in a local pro-life publication.  When it comes out I'll link to it.  Meanwhile I'll post below an excerpt from that article that elaborates upon the anti-life screed (see here) that is the report from the meeting.

(begin excerpt)
A thorough read of the document makes plain that it is nothing more than an apologia for the United Nations Sustainable Goals initiatives.  The authors make no attempt to disguise it.  Another key attendee at this summit was none other than UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, who also has been known to advocate for abortion.  I refer you to this UN link: http://www.unece.org/sustainable-development/sustainable-development/home.html.  Interestingly enough, scrubbed from this link is any mention of Agenda 21, an action plan that arose out of several meetings with regard to “sustainable development”.  Wikipedia gives some details of it, albeit rather sympathetic, owing to wikipedia’s own leftist bias: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agenda_21.   Many see Agenda 21 for the snake in the grass that it is and are sounding the alarm; see http://www.teaparty911.com/issues/what_is_agenda_21.htm  and http://www.freedomadvocates.org/.
The information available about “sustainable development” and Agenda 21 makes clear the betrayal of the Faith that the Vatican hierarchy is committing by lending its moral voice to “one-world-government” and even to “population control”.  It is particularly scandalous that these Vatican agencies signed onto a thinly-disguised apologetics effort for abortion – in the name of the “environment” – just a few weeks prior to the anticipated papal encyclical on the environment.  Catholics are reminded that while the Magisterium can pronounce infallibly only on matters pertaining to Faith and Morals, it does not have the same authority regarding matters scientific and/or economic.
(end excerpt)

Did Cardinal Muller see similar issues in the encyclical itself?  Now the link to the GloriaTV expose of Archbishop Fernandez..

Voices Of Reason Contradict Pontifical Acadmeny Of Sciences Regarding Climate Change Junk Science

Thanks to the blogosphere (of which this blog is a small part), the world has been alerted to the joke of a conference that occurred last week regarding "climate change".  As revealed, anti-life population-control advocate Jeffrey Sachs had a disproportionately large amount of influence over the proceedings of that meeting - and the report that was obviously written before the meeting happened.

I posted on it last week; in my reply to one of the comments I mused aloud my suspicions that the "climate change" hoax might play a role in the maturation that the pope wants to inflict upon Catholics as they prepare for the brain-rot that will spew forth from next October's sin-nod.  The PAS report included the Vatican's endorsement of "population control", i.e., contraception, abortion and possibly euthanasia.  This anti-life poison may well be woven into the October meeting.

Again, thanks to the blogosphere, true scientists are making their voices and concerns heard.  On April 27, the Cornwall Alliance released "An Open Letter To Pope Francis On Climate Change".  It is signed by reputable individuals such as Rabbi Daniel Lapin, Father Paul Acton, Gary Bauer, Donna Bethel, retired MD State Senator Nancy Jacobs, Lord Christopher Monckton, Steven Mosher, Austin Ruse, Thomas Sheahen, John Zmirak.  The gist of this letter points to the reasons why popular models have failed, based on empirical data.  It also points to Biblical reference regarding the relationship between man and the created universe - and points out why any attempt to restrict fossil fuel consumption would be harmful to poor people.  If the pope insists on dabbling into scientific matters (over which he has no special authority), he needs to weigh real data, not just emotional rhetoric.

However, with some prelates, facts don't sit very well.  Cardinal Maradiaga, a chief advisor to the pope (and I've written plenty about him, too), had this to say while visiting Washington DC last week in response to a question regarding the expected encyclical about the environment: "Do not expect statistics, numbers and theories.  He will go directly to the baptized."  Pardon my french, but what the hell does that mean????  Disregard of real scientific data seems to be habitual among progressives, and Maradiaga isn't even trying to conceal it.  He's opining that the pope will rely on emotional "mob-appeal" to push through the population control heresy.  Remember - he's a key advisor, de-facto leader of this "gang of nine", for the pope.  He may be a nut, but one to be taken seriously.

Again, we all must watch what proceeds from the Vatican and measure it agains the timeless traditions of Holy Mother Church.

Pope Francis Did Obescience To Climate-Change Junk Science

Does my post title seem "mean-spirited"?  Guess again!  If only his actions were no more harmful than gullibly glomming onto a scam.  Alas, such is not the case.  By hosting today's conference on the "environment" today at the Vatican (via the Pontifical Academy of the Sciences), the pope has lent undeserved credibility to anti-life forces.

United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and Jeffrey Sachs, Director of the Earth Institute, were in attendance.  Voice of the Family issued a statement detailing their concerns regarding these individuals and their advocacies for abortion and "population control".  The statement can be read at LifeSiteNews.  The presence of these two causes many faithful Catholics much concern, especially as this summit occurs so close to the scheduled release of the much-ballyhooed papal encyclical on the environment.

Also of concern is the apparent bias towards blind acceptance of the climate-change junk science, a bias that seems to have made itself manifest in stifling the voices of those who differ from the progressives in attendance.  Read this first-hand account of the treatment meted out to known opponents of the climate-change mantra during the meeting.  One of those who dared to think independently (and who was under watch durng the meeting) was Lord Christopher Monckton.  Speaking beforehand at a meeting held by the Heartland Institute and Cornwall Alliance, had some very direct words for the pope.  He said to him in abstensia and on account of the Vatican meeting, "you demean the office that you hold and you demean the church whom it is your sworn duty to protect and defend and advance."  In my opinion, Monkton is correct.  The pope has no special expertise on scientific manners; when he brings the weight of the papal office to bear on personal opinions, he not only demeans his office, but he prostitutes it.

The Second Half Of Last Week's Papal Double-Header

Over a week ago I posted on an in-flight interview that the pope gave while en route from Sri Lanka to the Philippines.  My focus in that post was the regrettable remark he made that made regarding the Charlie Hebdo massacre in Paris.  In that post I alluded to a "double-header" as there were two topics being discussed, each with its own papal gaffe.  With various other things popping up, I'm just now getting to the other half of that in-flight interview disaster.

The topic of that foot-in-mouth exercise was "climate change".  On that plane, a reporter asked the pope point-blank if he thought man was responsible for "climate change".  The pope replied, "I don’t know if it is all (man’s fault) but the majority is, for the most part, it is man who continuously slaps down nature."  In other words he bought into the junk science and is playing into the hands of those who use "climate change" as a ploy to engage in "population control".  Did we see a hint of that last week with the "rabbit" quip?

A few days prior to that interview Michael Voris released a Vortex video about "climate change" and the peril that it poses for the Church and her mission of saving souls. In this video, Voris mentioned a longer expose he did on it.  I posted on it last year and now link to it.   I'll also link now to videos of a British scientist debunking the junk science behind the "global warming / climate change" scam.  I hope the pope watches it, along with the rest of the "church of nice".

Vatican Swallows The Spiritual And Intellectual Poisoned Koolaid Called Environmentalism

LifesiteNews did an expose of the Vatican's embrace of environmentalism this past Wednesday called "Why Is The Vatican Stumbling Into Climate Controversy?"  He points out the Vatican luminaries (including Cardinal Maradiaga, the leader of the "gang of 8").  He also points out a statement by the Vatican that "the scientific consensus is rather consistent..."  No it isn't.  There is a wide divergence of conclusions in the scientific community (see here and here) - the sort that the progressive media tries to keep silent.

The most important Jalsevak pointed out is that this matter of "climate change" is way beyond the bishops' realm of competence.  They have no knowledge by which to make scientific conclusions, let alone decide and declare which of widely varying theories is correct.

I would like to think that the Vatican is just being naive and easily led when it comes to climate change.  However, I now believe there are powerful forces within the Vatican - the same ones controlling the USCCB - that are pulling puppet strings and doing their utmost to promote progressive agendas upon the whole world.  Last week Cardinal Dolan was simply taking marching orders from those holding his puppet strings; the behaviors cited in Jalsevak's reports are at the behest of the same masterminds.

Four years ago I posted commentary on an expose of environmentalism done by Michael Voris.  Here is the link to my commentary; embedded in that post is the video that he produced and another link to supporting documentation.  Note the three principles to environmentalism: population control, world governance, earth worship.   Here I believe we see a rather stark example of earth worship.  If you clicked on the "Dolan" link in the preceding paragraph and were able to endure RFK Jr.'s diatribe in the video, you noticed his none-too-subtle hints at socialism.

In this video from Sunday's parade/charade (ht Reason Magazine) you'll notice even less subtle calls for socialism.  Warning!  As the video proceeds, your eardrums will be assaulted by hideous music performed (using words "performed" and "music" loosely) by aging hippies.  You might want to offer up any earaches as penances.

Environmentalism is just another ploy to replace western civilization with atheism and socialism.  Now they are leading the Vatican by the nose.  This is yet another reason why we cannot blindly follow and obey every statement issued by the Vatican - especially when they violate the Magisterium and step outside their realms of competence.  Now the Right Reason video..

Catholic Relief Services - Ingredient In The Depopulation Bomb

Below I'll post a Vortex video that details some results from the contraceptive, anti-life culture.  These are results that are now apparent; it seems that some countries are beginning to wake up, but will it be too little, too late?  Keep in mind the previous post that shows how Africans and other poorer people are being targeted for elimination.

Aiding and abetting this targeted genocide is none other than Catholic Relief Services.  Long-time readers of this blog will recall that we've shown the spotlight on their distribution of contraceptive and abortifacient items.  Read here for the archive.  This is no mere coincidence.  Catholic Relief Services is heavily funded by George Soros; the other main funder is USAID.  Catholic Relief Services, at the very least, is allowing itself to be used as tools for the furtherance of eugenics.  However, I would not be the least bit surprised if the upper-level management isn't fully aware and approving of those activities.  Consider the way that Ken Hackett was rewarded by Obama for his ten-year term as director of CRS.

We can whine all we want about the nefarious forces outside the Church.  But if we're going to be successful in any manner, we must expunge the culture of death from within Mother Church.  The abolition of the entire United States Conference of Catholic Bishops should be one of the first steps in that purification.

Now the video..

The Coming Demographic Winter

As most of us endure this frigid weather with chattering teeth, we are treated to yet another whopper by Al Gore.  You see, he's still on a crusade to put forth the hoax forestall the horror of GLOBAL WARMING!!  Personally I think we could use a little of that "global warming" but once again I digress!

Comes now Al Gore's "contribution" in his crusade against this imaginary peril - "FERTILITY MANAGEMENT"!   Why can't they be honest and call it "fertility eradication"??  Whoops!  I forgot!  That would be admitting to an "inconvenient truth".

We have known for some time now that the so-called push to control "global warming" is a thinly-disguised pretext at "population control" or more accurately, population reduction.  Several years ago, Michael Voris did an expose on the "climate change" movement, of which Al Gore is a big cheerleader (and profiteer).  I post the video below; it's a long watch but well worth the investment in time.

Of course two ways to "manage fertility" are contraception and abortion.  Forty years of this have wrecked havoc upon Europe, and the American continents are headed down the same primrose path.  Voris did another program on this an hour ago.  When that video is up I'll post that too.  So not only are we enduring a bit of extreme winter weather, but we will suffer through the even greater danger of a demographic winter.  We must pray and wake up.

Mysterious Cash Flows At Catholic Relief Services

These days it seems that Catholic Relief Services is occupying as much of my blogging time as is its domestic counterpart, the CCHD.  I've written quite a bit about them over the past few months.  Others have too, owing to the revelations of their grants to various pro-abortion organizations overseas.

Last Friday LifeSiteNews published the reactions of some pro-life leaders to these latest revelations of scandal.  A number of other bloggers noticed that buried within is a rather matter-of-fact statement by Steven Mosher that the CRS receives over two-thirds of its funding from USAID.  Yesterday I tried to look up CRS on the Guidestar.  CRS has published none of its 990s thereon (I'm sure we know why!) but it was disclosed that during its 2009-2010 fiscal year, it received almost $920 million in various grants.  So for that year we can estimate that USAID ponied over approximately $610 million.

USAID is a federal agency.  Who funds that?  We the taxpayers do, of course!  From our tax dollars (or national debt) goes about $610 million per year (assuming that the 2009-2010 number is stationary) to the CRS.  One reason why we may not be seeing CRS's 990 is that this form will disclose the salaries and perks received by its officers, directors and other highly-compensated personnel.  Another reason is that we might actually see some details of their program expenses; might they be somewhat embarrassing for a Church organization?  And how about that other $310 million in receipts?  Is that all attributable to donation dollars are might some of that be coming from other, uh, "interesting donors"?

Now here's another puzzling facet to all of this.  I am hearing nary a peep from the "separation of church and state" gang.  Where's the "Freedom From Religion Foundation"?  Anytime a Nativity Scene is found on public property in some obscure town, they are "on the job" demanding its removal.  Why aren't they outraged about millions of tax dollars going towards a Catholic organization?  We can ask the same about "People for the American Way", etc.  Why aren't their undies bunched over this obvious breach of the wall between church and state?  Could it be that they're in "on the secret", that the goals are more about laundering federal dollars for "population control"?  That explains why they don't want to upset that progressive apple-cart.

Of course the mainstream media won't point out that obvious hypocrisy, so we bloggers must do it.  We also urge that no contribution money go towards CCHD, CRS and Catholic Charities when those collection baskets are passed in the pews.

PETA Announces A Contest - With A Rather Strange "Prize"

The so-called "People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals" is throwing a contest.   One enters the contest by having their dog or cat spayed, and by submitting an essay.  The topic of this essay?  Here it is!!

"Why Should PETA Neuter You?"

The "winner" will receive a vasectomy, compliments of PETA.  I've known for a while that they are part of the progressive, population control (e.g. elimination) cabal.  Here they make no bones about their intentions.  Truth be told, I'm not sure how much they really give a rat's ass about animals; I think that to be a pretext to induce gullible liberals into, well, spaying themselves.

David Rockefeller And The New World Order

From Gloria.tv.  By the way - the Rockefellers have long been affiliated with freemasonry, too.  Note the push for population control, government control over individuals and the "climate change" appeal.  Click here if you can't see embedded video.

Lots Of People Make For Vibrant Economies

The left-wing progressive mantra has been, for decades, that "too many people" are a drain on any given economy.  Of course Margaret Sanger of Planned Parenthood notoriety was the most vocal proponent of that (until James Lee decided to stage his rant in Silver Spring a few months ago).

But now the chickens are coming home to roost.  It seems that some nations are beginning to wake up to the mess of their own doing.  There is apparently an article in Economist that admits that Japan's declining population is causing the withering of its once-formidable economy.  Perhaps they are coming to realize that far from being a drain on economy, people are a resource for healthy economies, as they contribute their labor.

I now post a video from Population Research Institute, that illustrates the interrelation of population and economy.  It's actually the first episode in a four-part series; go to the site to see the others.  Click here if you can't see embedded video.

Guess Who Pooh-Poohed the Population Control Myth?

Granted it was over 30 years ago, but you may not believe it, given their liberal proclivities.

Note how Lennon rightly rebuked those who think they can decide who lives and who doesn't.
