Background Story Of The Pachamama Dunking And Some Bizarre Catholic Reactions

Recall several months ago how the pachamama idols were worshipped in the Vatican, in full sight of the pope.  This happened not once but several times.  It even happened at the closing Mass of the synod, when Pope Francis accepted a pachamama plant and placed it on the altar.

We of course were delighted when the pachamama filth was tossed into the Tiber.  Some time later, one of the two dunkers came forward - Alexander Tschugguel of Austria.  He has since told his story and shared his traditional Catholic faith with many.  Recently he was in the news as one who suffered the covid-19 virus and who came out of it.

A few days ago, in an interview with Taylor Marshall, the two men discussed these events.  In the course of the conversation, they revealed Marshall's role in the pachamama dunking, as one who financed Tschugguel's air fare back and forth between Rome and Vienna.

Perhaps covid-19 has infected some Catholic brains, but I learned of this largely through some Catholics who took umbrage at Marshall's role in the deed, implying that he was merely playing the publicity hound throughout the matter.  They even cast those aspersions on Tschugguel himself, going so far as to say he faked his corona affliction for publicity.

My first reaction to reading the details of the incident was, "so what?"  How did that garner such vituperation?  I have some questions for these detractors:
  • How do they think that Tschugguel flew back and forth between the two cities?  Do they think he and his friend just levitated through the air, or maybe bilocated as some mystics throughout the centuries did?  News flash!  Air fare costs money!  Marshall put up his own funds.  How dare some impugn Marshall's motives for so doing?  If you don't think he deserves some respect for so doing, well, that's on you.  However, by what stretch of logic do you villify him for his actions?
  • I detect just a slight note of shame underlying the wags and naysayers for their own cowardice and lack of initiative.  It's all too easy to say that those who do get off their butts to do something are not acting in good faith, for somehow that makes their own torpidity not look so bad.  To be honest, I've been on the receiving end of such nonsense myself.
I'm not inclined to link to the prattlings of these malcontents right now, for I don't want to increase their hit counts.  I might have to do that in the future, if this problem persists.  I remind such individuals that contumely and calumny are sins.

Meanwhile, I will now post the interview below.  The discussion of the pachamama incident begins at the 1:06:00 mark.  They also remind us of that meeting scheduled for May at the 1:13:40 mark.  I do hope that the corona situation causes that planned debacle to at least be postponed, as it has for so many other filthy events in Baltimore (see here and here).

Do The Pachamama!

My blogging colleagues at Les Femmes wrote a little song to commemorate the wreckage that the pope is making of Tradition and the Faith.  They suggested doing the hokey-pokey for a warm-up.  To assist in their efforts, I have concocted a few lyrics of my own to assist in their efforts.  So here it is, to the tune of "Do The Hokey-Pokey".

You bring the crystals in,
You throw the Rosary out
You take God’s teachings and
You turn them inside out

You do the Pachamama and you throw your soul in hell
That’s what it’s all about.

You bring the idols in
Take the tabernacle out
Sing heretical songs
And you dance and prance about

You do the Pachamama and you throw your soul in hell
That’s what it’s all about

You do the Pachamama
You do the Pachamama
To throw your soul in hell
That’s what its all about.

Covid - One Of The Punishments For The Pachamama Idolatry In The Vatican

Below is a Lepanto Institute podcast, wherein Michael Hichborn and Jim Maughan explain how today's calamities are most likely results, punishments if you will, for the pachamama being brought into the Vatican for idolatrous worship.  They point out how spiritual and societal deterioration have accelerated since the pachamama sacrileges, most notably the corona virus, the abject dereliction of duty on the part of Catholic clergy (more on that later) and the Democratic theft of the US presidential election.

During the covid pandemic, with a few exceptions, the Catholic bishops all over the world - and yes, that includes the pope - have been absolutely derelict in their duties to soldier through these conditions to provide the sacraments to the Catholics in their charge.  Instead, they have shuttered the churches and hidden themselves from their flocks.  Early on I thought that cowardice was the sole motivator behind their actions.  While that may have been partially true, I failed to consider the other key motivator behind many of their misdeeds throughout these past few decades - money.  Taylor Marshall, in this video, details how the US hierarchy collected billions of taxpayers' dollars via the PPP loans and stuffed them in their coffers.  Here is the AP article to which Marshall refers.  Among other things, Marshall points out how this can set a precedent for tax dollars to be diverted to churches, along the lines of Germany.

So here we see another facet of the corruption in the Church, and how it has at least been accelerated by idolatry within the walls of the Vatican.  Besides prayer, we must shine the light of truth on it so at least the perpetrators will have to operate under scrutiny.  Perhaps this is one reason why the pope has recently railed yet again against "fundamentalist" Catholics and the media outlets that they run. Archbishop Vigano is correct in pointing out how this pope directs harsh words against faithful, traditional Catholics while ignoring and even rewarding dissidents.  If he is lashing out so harshly against us, it can only mean that the truth is being heard.

Coming To A Parish Near You, Maybe Your Own

Bishop Erwin Krautler claimed that the pachamama idols can "be integrated into our liturgy".  GloriaTV then caught him in flagrant double-speak.  Recall that Krautler is the bishop who states that he never baptized a single Amazon native and doesn't plan ever to do so - in direct disobedience to Jesus Christ.

I believe Krautler when he said he never baptized anyone.  I also understand that he will try to insinuate all sorts of blasphemies into Holy Mass.  Consider my post from Monday the 28th and the video of the Mass.  At the 53:04 mark you can see the plant being carried in.  One might ask why was the video camera focused so much on it; was the operator of the recorder privy to the plot to besmirch the altar, and this focus was a bit of a gloat?

I'm bringing all this up for I believe there will be attempts to sneak some idolatry into our Masses.  It probably isn't imminent, but they will wait some time so that the memories of the pachamama statues will fade.  Then we might not tend to be alert to these dangers.  Will we prove them right?

Back to the video, as you watch the procession, you'll notice that the plant is the last "gift" to ascend to the altar - as though the bread and wine were mere "opening acts", so to speak (around the 55:00 mark).  At the 55:41 mark, the pope accepts the plant from the woman.  As far as I can tell, the plant was the only gift that the pope himself handled.  He handed it to an acolyte who them placed it on the altar.  At the 56:19 mark, the focus is on the plant - not the bread, not the wine, but the plant!  Don't tell me that this whole Mass, complete with recording, was not an orchestrated attempt to do covert homage to the pachamama demon!  The presence of any plant on an altar is a violation of GIRM, but this is rank idolatry to boot.  This is an abomination brought into God's holy church.

Ladies and gentlemen, we must be alert in the following months - particularly if you are in a locale that tends towards the progressive mindset.  We are going to have to consider our response if we see similar debacles unfold before our very eyes.  It is best that we plan now so as to be prepared, rather than be caught unawares.

Nature Throws Temper Tantrums

A temper tantrum.  Yes, Pope Francis chalked up the covid-19 outbreak to a "temper tantrum" - his words - that nature is throwing so that we "will take care of her".  How in hades does he make up this crap?  Understand that in this gibberish, he is personifying nature by ascribing to it irascibility.

Let's remember what the Amazon Synod, and in fact most synods and all those meetings with Jeffrey Sachs et al were all about.  They were about establishing the de facto religion of earth-worship.  That was a big impetus in defiling Churches in Rome along with the open worship of the pachamama idols in the  Vatican gardens, with the pope in attendance. I and many others believe that this covid-19 pandemic is nothing less than a Divine chastisement for our many sins against Him - idolatreis, blasphemies, baby-slaughter, the elevation of homosexual perversions, etc.  Let's recall that the pachamama disaster happened in Italy, and the greatest number of casualties are in Italy.

However, instead of repenance, the world and the Church are doubling down on sinful conduct.  At a time when they should be multiplying Masses and allowing for greater access to the Sacraments, our bishops are restricting access to the sacraments and even eliminating them, going so far as to shutter the Churches.  In their claim to be acting out of concern for public safety, they cut off the prime source of God's grace, heaping more disrespect upon God.  I salute those dedicated priests who are having to work around various strictures laid upon them by their errant bishops (drive-through confessions, drive-up exposition of Blessed Sacrament, etc).  At any rate, pachamama isn't the only occasion for idolatry.  We now have "public safety", "compliance with authority" (even when that authority goes outside its own constitutional bounds), etc.  Yes, for too many - even for otherwise faithful Catholics - public safety, good in and of itself, has been made into an idol.

Listen now to the words of Archbishop Lenga of Poland.  Growing up in Poland, this prelate knows a thing or two about living under a tyranny and the perils of subjugating the One True Faith to the dictates of secular powers-that-be.

Pagan Art On Pope's Chasuble

When I first saw the picture to the right of the pope's odd-looking chasuble, I was dreading the real possibility of it being a picture of some pagan idol.  It wouldn't be the first time he's pulled such a stunt.

Anyway, here's what that thing really is.  That article speculates that this object (and others) were constructed for pragmatic use as opposed to idolatrous ones.  Still, they date back several hundred years before Our Lord was born.  It has absolutely nothing to do with Christianity.  It's worth noting that this object was found in the Peru/Chile area of South American.

Hmm...  What else was found in that area of the world?  Oh, yes!  The pachamama idol!  Now that demonic object most certainly is a construct of pagan idolatry!  See here.  Don't forget that the pope went so far as to have a pachamama plant placed on the altar of St. Peter's Basilica.

This is by no means the first time that he used paganized caricatures of vestments of his office.  Recall that in 2014 he carried a crosier that was modeled on a wiccan "magic wand".

So now I pose this question: was that pagan picture on the pope's chasuble a sly salute to the pachamama idol?

Consecrated To The Immaculate Heart Of Mary, Or To Pachamama???

There is some confusion and consternation regarding some translations of the consecration prayer used today by the pope.  I linked to it a few days ago; obviously I linked to the English translation.  The phrase in question is "Queen of Heaven".  In the English, this is a perfectly fine reference to use for Our Lady.  However, in the Italian, the language used by the pope in the consecration prayer earlier today, the phrase put in its place was "tiera del cielo".  Roughly translated, it means "earth of heaven".  Some think this may be a not-so-veiled reference to the pachamama demon-idol.

Below are two videos, one from Taylor Marshall and the other from Michael Hichborn - both men whom I respect.  Marshall believes that the phrasing is, at best, suspicious.  Hichborn doesn't and he cites some Byzantine liturgies as precedents for the phrase's use.

I tend to side with Marshall on this one.  Even if Hichborn is correct in believing the phrase has basis for usage, it doesn't explain the variance between the English and Italian translations.  "Queen" simply doesn't get translated into "earth".  If anything, "Queen of Heaven" should be rendered "Regina Cielo" or something to that effect.  Why the disparity in those two words?  Most other languages, by the way, have the "earth of heaven" phrase as well.  So again, why is the English have a phrase that is more compatible with traditional Catholicism?

Well, call me a cynic, but I believe that you are looking at one of those reasons.  Blogs and other media outlets such as this, many of them in English-speaking countries, are run by us "neo-palagian rigid trads" who have obnoxious habits of calling the shots as we see them and doing so loudly and often.  Perhaps the Vatican thought we'd be so ecstatic about the consecration occurring that they thought we wouldn't notice such teensy details.  But, as they say, the devil is in the details - perhaps literally.

At the end of the day, though, there is hope that the consecration was done properly - not assurance but hope.  Both of the men below agree that no matter what, we must still conduct ourselves according to the requests of Our Lady of Fatima.  That means praying the Rosary daily and wearing the brown scapular.  That means keeping the Five First Saturday devotions.  That means prayer and penance.  We are still in for some intense battles so stay close to Our Lord and Our Lady.

More Satanic Slop From World Youth Debacle

My friend from Les Femmes has another picture of the "tuppernacle" that I reproduce below.  Notice the plant on top of it (and nothing should ever be atop Our Lord).  The very first thought that crossed my mind is the pachamama plant.  I cannot find a close-up of that thing to make sure, but given the machinations of this papacy and Vatican crew, I've no reason to believe otherwise.  Those young people in adoration are very sincere and most likely ignorant of the pachamama idolatry.  They are the ones being ill-served by that.

The young people were also poorly served just before the pope's final Mass at the World Youth Debacle.  The Mass was scheduled to begin at 9am.  Starting at 7am, a priest, Father Gilherme Peixoto, a self-styled "DJ priest", played rather weird "techno" music quite loudly, awakening many of the young people who were sleeping in front of the altar on the grounds.

LifeSiteNews has a an excellent expose of what happened, along with background regarding this priest.  There are two youtube clips: one of the "performance" at WYD (the entire half-hour claptrap) along with another "performance" last year.  That one showed a performance of his that can only be called satanic.  I go to a traditional Latin Mass.  A few minutes before Mass begins, the organist will play sacred music to assist people in quieting themselves and focusing on what is about to happen.  As you watch the video of the racket that precedes the WYD mass, you'll notice some misguided kids dancing - hardly the recollection necessary to assist at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

Peter Kwasniewski has a piece in Crisis magazine, just published today, called "World Profanation Day".  Read it.  I think most sane people will agree that the world youth debacle needs to be scuttled as of now.

Prostelyzation - Bad For Catholic Truth But Fine For Pachamama

A Christmas concert at the Vatican a few weeks ago featured a tutorial in how to participate in pachamama idol worship.  Yes, this idol-worship session was sponsored by the Congregation for Catholic Education.  That congregation's name is clearly a misnomer.  Both Gloria TV and Church Militant have accounts of the sacrilege.  They have translations but even with my limited knowledge of Latin-based languages, I can detect "mother earth" (madre terra).  What is particularly galling is how the prelates in the audience follow along like good little sheep dogs and cross their arms over their breasts to "feel the heart of mother earth".  Is that a liturgical gesture?  Well yes, but not Catholic.  Look to the right to see who uses that gesture in their ceremonies.   Did any of them, just one, keep their hands at their sides?

Doesn't this strike you as flagrant prostelyzation?  Gasp!  I thought that was forbidden in this new enlightened age of the "god of surprises".  But I guess that prohibition only applies to the actual fulfillment of Christ's commission to proclaim the Gospel.

But of course this wasn't prostelyzation you see?  This is just a part of what Pope Francis said when he said that church must "adapt" lest it become "irrelevant".   He states that "the faith in Europe and much of the west...is often derided, denied, marginalized and ridiculed".  That's true, but his antics are a big reason why that's the case.  He is constantly undermining her teachings instead of upholding them while he yaps about "climate change" and other nonsense.  What else would he expect the world to do?

He also points the finger (again!) at faithful Catholics who uphold Jesus' teachings.  I suppose one of them would be Dr Josef Seifert who has stated that if what the pope teaches is in contradiction to perennial Church teaching, then we have a solemn duty not to obey it.  Take note well.  Obviously this prohibition would mean that we don't obey cues to assume idolatrous worship practices or allow for disregard of the Church's moral teachings.  It also means that we are NOT permitted to shill for the abolition of the death penalty nor for de facto open borders.

Alexander Tschugguel, In The Spirit Of St Boniface, One Of Those Who Purged Pachamama Filth

This young man from Austria is founder of the St Boniface Institute.  He has now released a video to explain why he and a friend felt compelled to rid the Catholic Church of pagan, idolatrous filth.  Please go to that website to see that video that contains his statement on the episode.

You can also donate to the St Boniface Institute.  In fact, if anyone is looking for a more worthy recipient of your November donation dollars than the CCHD, I'd highly recommend them.  Caveat - this website, being Austrian, accepts only Euros; here's a converter you might use and others exist.

So far, the faithful Catholic media outlets that have interviewed Tschugguel include LifeSiteNews and ChurchMilitant.  I hope there are more - more people like Tschugguel.

And they are cropping up.  This past Sunday in the Archdiocese of Mexico City, Father Hugo Valdemar burned an effigy of the pachamama and offered prayers of reparation for the sins of idolatry.  Here is the LifeSiteNews article and I'll post this video now.

Prayer Of Reparation For the Idolatrous Acts During The Last Synod For The Amazon

Bishop Athanasius Schneider, who earlier extolled the heroism of Alexander Tschuguell and his friends for purging the Church of the heinous pachamama idols, has suggested that faithful Catholics everywhere pray the following prayer.

I should note that the bishop believes (and I agree) that the pachamama crap is a tool of the progressives to usher in a new banal "religion" to supplant Catholicism and that they've been attempting that since the Vatican II council.

I reproduce the bishop's prayer below for your own prayerful use.

Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, receive through the hands of the Immaculate Mother of God and Ever Virgin Mary from our contrite heart a sincere act of reparation for the acts of worship of wooden idols and symbols during the Synod for the Amazon, which occurred in Rome, the Eternal City, the heart of the Catholic world. Pour out in the heart of Our Holy Father Pope Francis, of the Cardinals, of the Bishops, of priests and lay faithful, your Spirit, who will expel the darkness of their minds, so that they might recognize the impiety of such acts, which offended your Divine majesty and offer to you public and private acts of reparation.

Pour out in all members of the Church the light of the fullness and beauty of the Catholic Faith. Enkindle in them the burning zeal of bringing the salvation of Jesus Christ, true God and true man, to all men, especially the people in the Amazon region, who still are enslaved in the service of feeble material and perishable things, as the deaf and mute symbols and idols of “mother earth.” Enkindle the light of faith in those persons, especially in the persons of the Amazonian tribes who do not yet possess the liberty of the children of God, and who do not have the unspeakable happiness of knowing Jesus Christ and having in Him a participation in the life of your Divine nature.

Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, you are the one true God, besides Whom there is no other god and no salvation, have mercy on your Church. Look especially upon the tears and contrite and humble sighs of the little ones in the Church. Look upon the tears and prayers of the little children, of the adolescents, of young men and young women, of the fathers and mothers of families and also of the true Christian heroes, who in their zeal for your glory and in their love for Mother Church threw into the water the symbols of abomination which defiled her. Have mercy on us: spare us, O Lord, parce Domine, parce Domine! Have mercy on us: Kyrie eleison! Amen.”

Alleged Recovery Of The Sacrilegious Objects

First, let me preface this with a word about the men who served God by jettisoning the things from the Church.

From faithful Catholics who should know better, I am hearing a lot of nitpicking about what they did. They are being criticized for not burning or smashing the idols first. To you who are mouthing such nonsense, please think. They didn't have the time for all that. They had to be quick about what they did lest they be apprehended.

You may be hearing nonsense that the filth was recovered. Nonsense. The idolaters most likely had other things they they are daring to place in St Peter's Basilica.Instead of carping on those young men, let's pray for their safety and that we may all display similar courage and piety.

LifeSiteNews has the full text of the pope's announcement regarding their alleged recovery.  Please note some things:
  • The pope is calling the things "pachamama statues".  He's got that one thing right.  This is important because some who insist on defending the idolatry are trying to spin the situation by claiming that the things are somehow a representation of the Blessed Mother.  I hope the pope's admission puts to rest that fairy tale.
  • He asked pardon of the people "offended by the act (of removal)".  Will he ask pardon of us who are offended by their presence?  More importantly, will he ask pardon of God?
  • He mentioned "the display of the statues at the closing Mass of the synod" followed with a coy "we'll see".  So does that mean pachamama idols will be placed in the Bascilica of St Peter?  Will we see idolatry even there?
Think of this, fellow Catholics!  The pope, the Vicar of Christ, will be facilitating idolatry in St Peter's Bascilia!  This is a supreme outrage, and this outrage will no doubt be repeated in Churches throughout the world, in some fashion or another.

In the very likely event that we see similar acts of idolatry in our own local churches, what are we prepared to do?

Today's Gospel Warning For The People Of Canada

We've known for a few weeks that the pope was planning to travel to Canada as a "penitential pilgrimage".  Well, it will be a penance for decent Catholics to endure the spectacle of what is to happen.

I understand the pope's plane arrived shortly before noon today.  He'll hit the road Monday, that is, tomorrow (Monday) when he visits Sacred Heart Church of the First Peoples in Edmonton.  There he plans to participate in a smudging ceremony.  Yes, you read that correctly.  Please read that link and understand that "smudging" is a ritual meant to appeal to nature gods, to "mother earth".  A term for "mother earth" in another language is pachamama.  Now where have we heard that word before?

As that LifeSite article explains, smudging is sinful in many respects, and mortally so.  First, it is an act of idolatry, a sin against the First Commandment, as it gives reverence to false idols.  Sacrilege is also involved when a Catholic cleric is involved, especially the Vicar of Christ.  If it takes place inside the church, that church becomes profaned and probably should be reconsecrated.

Today's Gospel for the Seventh Sunday after Pentecost (Traditional Latin Mass) is an appropriate warning to the Catholics of Canada.  It is taken from Matthew 7: 15-21.  I will reproduce the Douay-Rheims version below:

[15] Beware of false prophets, who come to you in the clothing of sheep, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. [16] By their fruits you shall know them. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? [17] Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit, and the evil tree bringeth forth evil fruit. [18] A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can an evil tree bring forth good fruit. [19] Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit, shall be cut down, and shall be cast into the fire. [20] Wherefore by their fruits you shall know them.[21] Not every one that saith to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven: but he that doth the will of my Father who is in heaven, he shall enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Sometimes the false prophets dress as shepherds, too.  If this smudging debacle does occur, we will have to do acts of reparation for the idolatry and sacrileges that will be committed by these clerics, pope included.  He is allegedly doing this to "ask forgiveness" from Canada's Indians.  If he goes through with this, her really will need to "ask forgiveness" for the judgment that he will bring on their heads.  Bear in mind that the covid nonsense happened very soon after the pope allowed pachamama to profane the Vatican; I don't believe that's a coincidence. Canadian Catholics, please protest.

January's Poop Video - Celebrating Some Rites But Not Others

Below is January's poop video and below it I will unpack this hypocritical slop.

By "diversity of rites", does he mean allowing Anglicans to conduct their parodies of Vespers and Mass in Catholic basilicas in Rome?  That is sacrilege - to allow Catholic churches to be used in a trivialization of Holy Mass.  But that's not the first time such a sacrilege happened.  Remember four years ago, when some conclave ended?  Francis himself said Mass when he placed a pachamama plant on the altar - an act of idolatry?

So protestants have admittance to Catholic churches for their mutated rites, pachamama idols are placed on our consecrated altars during Mass, but the Mass of the Ages is being shut down all over the world?  Folks, are we awake yet?

Catholic Standard And Catholic Review Repeat Our Sunday Visitor Inaccuracies Regarding Bishop Strickland

Both the Catholic Standard and Catholic Review use the same article from Our Sunday Visitor as they relay the news of Bishop Strickland's ouster.  OSV acknowledges that the Vatican has not yet given any official reason for Strickland's ouster, but it does point out a tweet that Strickland wrote last May stating that the Pope is "undermining the deposit of faith".

All Strickland did was call a spade a spade.  Let's look back at some of the antics coming forth from this Vatican, shall we?

  • A few weeks ago, he signed a document that allows gays and transgender perverts to be godparents at baptism
  • While Strickland was stripped of his diocese, the German bishops who declared their intention to "bless" gay unions remain untouched.
  • There is the colossal pachamama debacle during which this filthy idol was worshipped in the Vatican Garden, in the pope's presence.  Later that week, he placed a pachamama plant on the altar during Mass - a direct violation of GIRM and an act of idolatry.
  • There is that insidious footnote in Amoris Laetitia, stating that de facto adulterers may receive Holy Communion while continuing their mortally sinful lifestyles
  • He declared the death penalty to be inherently evil, directly contradicting 2000 year old Church teaching.

This list could go on and on, but these will suffice to demonstrate that yes indeed, the pope is undermining the deposit of faith.

As for this October 31 address in question, LifeSiteNews diligently recorded the entire thing and published it for our reading.  Here it is.  Please read it.  Some reading the OSV article might get the erroneous impression that Strickland is calling the pope a "usurper".  In an interview with the Pillar Catholic, Strickland plainly states that such is not his view.  Rather, he was reading a letter from a friend to illustrate the confusion that this pope is undeniably causing.  He states that the pope is neglecting to clear up confusion by not answering the dubia and not issuing plain statements of belief.

Further on down the OSV article, we read that "the letter outright attacked Pope Francis' validity as the successor of St. Peter...Bishop Strickland said the letter's words were challenging but did not dispute the allegations."

I find great fault with the reporting of Our Sunday Visitor in this matter.  They utterly failed - whether by neglect or intent, I do not know - to take into account Strickland's subsequent exchange with the Pillar, during which Strickland acknowledges Francis's papacy.  OSV's sloppiness could lead the unsuspecting reader to believe that Strickland doubts the validity of Francis' papacy.  The OSV has a duty, in my opinion, to correct their reporting.  Moreover, The Catholic Standard and Catholic Review. have a duty to acknowledge their own sloppiness in their blind repetition of the OSV error without doing any "due diligence" verification themselves.

Here are more details about these matters from the Lepanto Institute.

What Really Happened To The Pachamamas

Allegedly the pachamama idols were fished out of the Tiber, with nary a scratch on them!  Amazing, when you consider that the things would have floated miles away before the Vatican got wind of the heist!  C'mon!  Does anyone really believe that the authorities took the time and trouble to fish some cheap baubles out of the Tiber?  They had to have had more of the things in stock, and that is what we saw.

Come to think of it, to make that many replicas of pachamama, they would have had to (gasp!) kill lots of trees, right?  For shame!  The poor ole' earth must have cried and bled a storm when those trees were cut down!  Talk about ecological sins!   In fact, this leaked video gives the inside story on what happened behind Vatican walls when the gang heard the idols were missing.  But I digress!

In his groveling apology, the pope hinted that the idols might appear at the closing Mass in St Peter's Bascilica.  That was enough for some cardinals to state that if the statues appeared, they wouldn't participate.  It appears the pope did an end-run around them, for a potted plant was processed at the Offertory and placed on the altar - in direct violation of the GIRM.  My blogging colleage, Vox Cantoris, goes more into detail of this more covert idolatry.

Below is a video of the Mass.  Watch for yourselves.

Some wonder now what the decent cardinals will do.  I think the more relevant question is what will we do?  That is a serious question to ponder as we pray our Rosaries for Holy Mother Church.

More Information On Father Pavone

From Father Pavone's website, we have a history of his interactions with Church hierarchy, from his first involvement with Priests for Life until present.  He intends to fight this, as well he should.

The Code of Canon Law, sections 1717 - 1731, seem to indicate that the accused (in this case, Father Pavone) has a right to appeal and to present his case.  Specifically that is stated in section 1723.  There is one exception to that requirement: if the action is done by the pope.  That is the input from Father Gerald Murray, a canon lawyer who is associated with Robert Royal and Raymond Arroyo in the Papal Posse.  Moreover, a copy of the letter from the Papal Nuncio is now online.  The Papal Nuncio acts on behalf of the pope.  Hitherto, I had thought that maybe Francis wasn't involved with Father's removal, that it might have been too "small potatoes" for him.  I stand corrected, as it seems that Francis has bared his teeth here.

Now Canon 193 sec 4 states that removal from the office (priesthood) must be communicated in writing.  Father Pavone heard about his laicization in the same manner that most of us did - through the Catholic News Agency announcement yesterday. The Nuncio's letter was only made public today.  I still am uncertain as to whether or not Pavone received formal notice of this action.  Irregularities abound.

So do double standards.  One of the trumped up charges stems from Father displaying an aborted baby on a table that he sometimes used for Mass.  Zurek called that table "an altar" when in fact it was never consecrated as such.  However, if Bishop Zurek wants to get outraged over altar desecrations, the current occupant of the chair of Peter has provided at least two occasions for such indignation.   When Francis returned home from World Youth Day in 2013, he placed on an altar of St Mary Major Basilica, next to the Tabernacle, a beach ball and sports jersey.  In 2019, at a closing Mass in St Peter's after one of the countless synods, Francis placed on the altar a pachamama idol-plant.  Yes, the reputed pope placed an idol on a consecrated altar during Mass.  Bishop Zurek's anger would be more appropriately directed at that actual outrage.

Taylor Marshall below offers some insight into this whole vindictive attack on Father Pavone.

Marshall ended by exhorting us to prayer, fasting, personal holiness.  I take issue for that is not all we must do.  Yes we are laity, but some of us also have a few dollars - that should NOT go to the diocesan appeals and especially NOT to the Peter's Pence collections.  Now when (not if, when) we boycott these collections, it is not sufficient to refrain from contributions.  We must also drop into the collection baskets notes explaining precisely why we are boycotting - and sign your names.  The time for demure silence is long past.  They might cancel clerics, but we laity have rights that they don't.  Let's use them.

By the way - it appears that Father Pavone has at least one friend among the bishops.  Bishop Strickland decried the nuncio's letter in a tweet.

Breaking! Pachamama Idols Thrown Into The Tiber River!

Deo gratias!  God bless and protect these courageous individuals!  Let us take example from them.  I suggest we all download this video before the Vatican authorities get into a royal snit about it.

Silence When Prelates Misbehave Is Its Own Sin

In 2021, Dr Peter Kwasniewski wrote a small but powerful and much-needed book called True Obedience In The Church.  It is published by Sophia Institute Press.  No doubt the egregious misdeeds of the late Francis was impetus for its writing, since many sincere but unaware Catholics were led to follow him in his heresies, thinking that they were obliged to obey the pope in every way.

In his book, Dr. Kwasniewski laid forth the proper theology behind the concept of obedience, making plain that we are required to obey our prelates only to the extent that they act in concert with the Teachings of the Church as they have always existed.  The pope is charged with preserving Church Tradition, and is no more permitted to tinker with it than are the laity.  Indeed, Kwasniewski says correctly that we are forbidden to follow our leaders into error.  For example, no prelate can order a priest in his diocese to "bless" two gays and their perverted relationship.  They are not to conduct idol worship, such as that occurred with the pachamama idolatry in the Vatican Gardens.  I need not go into more detail, or I would be typing all night.

In his book, he quoted St Thomas Aquinas who said, "unjust laws are acts of violence rather than laws...Wherefore they do not bind in conscience".  He then went on to say that Francis' attempts to stifle the Traditional Latin Mass fall under the category of "unjust laws" and need not, or I should say, may not be obeyed.  Traditiones Custodes is a direct violation of Quo Primum, a papal bull issued by Pope Saint Pius V in 1570 that established the Traditional Latin Mass as the true Mass, one that can never be abrogated.

Following the logic set forth by Aquinas, Kwasniewski also pointed out that those priests and bishops who were canceled on account of fidelity to Tradition are by no means bound to act as though their priestly ministries are stifled.  Because these priests acted in accord with Tradition, any punishment meted to them in retaliation is illicit and has no claim of obedience.  They are still priests in good standing with God and deserve out support.  They may not have use of churches in which to administer Sacraments, but can certainly do so away from diocesan property, say for example, in private homes.

At this time, we have a new pontiff - Leo XIV.  He's only been pope for a few weeks so we don't know what the future will hold.  We hope and pray that he reverses the damage wreaked by Francis.  If he does, though, we will still have many aberrant bishops with which to deal: McElroy, Cupich, Tobin, etc.  We will have to be vigilant and be ready to resist them when they misbehave.

Many of the young priests being freshly ordained today are more traditionally-minded than were the priests ordained just a generation ago.  I'd like to propose a model for them to examine.  He was a priest of the Old Testament, and an account of his priestly zeal is given in Numbers 25:6-13.  I will reproduce it from the Douay-Rheims version.

The people fall into fornication and idolatry; for which twenty-four thousand are slain. The zeal of Phinees.

1 And Israel at that time abode in Settim, and the people committed fornication with the daughters of Moab,  2 Who called them to their sacrifices. And they ate of them, and adored their gods.  3 And Israel was initiated to Beelphegor: upon which the Lord being angry,  4 Said to Moses: Take all the princes of the people, and hang them up on gibbets against the sun: that my fury may be turned away from Israel.  5 And Moses said to the judges of Israel: Let every man kill his neighbours, that have been initiated to Beelphegor.

[3] "Initiated to Beelphegor": That is, they took to the worship of Beelphegor, an obscene idol of the Moabites, and were consecrated, as it were, to him.

6 And behold one of the children of Israel went in before his brethren to a harlot of Madian, in the sight of Moses, and of all the children of Israel, who were weeping before the door of the tabernacle.  7 And when Phinees the son of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest saw it, he rose up from the midst; of the multitude, and taking a dagger,  8 Went in after the Israelite into the brothel house, and thrust both of them through together, to wit, the man and the woman in the genital parts. And the scourge ceased from the children of Israel:  9 And there were slain four and twenty thousand men.  10 And the Lord said to Moses:

11 Phinees the son of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned away my wrath from the children of Israel: because he was moved with my zeal against them, that I myself might not destroy the children of Israel in my zeal.  12 Therefore say to him: Behold I give him the peace of my covenant,  13 And the covenant of the priesthood for ever shall be both to him and his seed, because he hath been zealous for his God, and hath made atonement for the wickedness of the children of Israel.

Phineas was a young man at the time.  I cannot discern whether or not he was old enough to have exercised priestly functions.  At any rate, the Israelites were being punished for engaging in sexual relations with idolatrous people.  He saw a well-placed Israelite strut into a tent with a foreign woman.  In fact, the whole multitude saw it.  Notice that Moses and Eleazar saw it too, and apparently did nothing.  Phineas did.  He did not wait for Moses or Eleazar to instruct him; he just acted.  He did not fear reprisal, for he was acting on God's revealed will.

The Lord Himself told Moses that he was pleased with Phineas, and that the actions of the latter caused God to cease His punishment of the people.  Somehow I think that God was also chiding Moses for not acting himself against the wicked Israelite.

Our priests need to act as priests, knowing that aberrant bishops cannot legitimately order them not to be faithful to the Traditions of the Church.

Lay people, we are not off the hook.  If anything, we are more able to speak truth to power, as we are under no vows of obedience.  We must be ready to speak up and yes, to pay the price for so doing.  That means that friends will avoid and shun us.  It probably means we'll be expelled from parish committees, CCD and RCIA programs, etc.  We'll have to support priests under attack and perhaps allow our homes to be sites for Traditional Latin Masses.  As for the last part, it was widely done after the bishops quashed the Latin Mass in the 1970s.

Now a word to those lay people who are parents of priests and vowed religious.  Many of you have assumed silence for fear that your children will suffer reprisals.  That strategy is futile on your part.  Some of you have been politically active in the past and have also been pro life activists.  That means that your children already have targets on their backs.  Your silence and "staying under the radar" will avail them not one damned thing.  In fact, by remaining silent, you are providing an abysmal example of how not to speak against the evil that is in their midst.  Rest assured, that unless progressive prelates are removed and the climate in the Vatican improves, your children will - not if, but will - suffer cancelation as has other faithful priests and bishops.  Some have even been put in fear for their lives; that is not out of the question.  Just within the Archdiocese of Washington, I am aware of four priests that have been "cancelled", because they have preached God's truth against homosexual conduct.  Given the stench of perversion that has wafted through the halls of the DC chancery in the past 20+ years,  is anyone surprised?  At any rate, parents, your beleaguered will need your example of courage and boldness, not one of silence and "hunkering down".

However, hearken back to the words of Dr. Kwasniewski as mentioned in the first part of this post.  These cancelations are unjust and thus illicit.  They hold no weight morally, and none under canon law.  They are still priests, able to perform - just not on property under archdiocesan control.  Parents and friend of potentially targeted priests, bear that in mind and be emboldened to speak for the Church and her God.

Rome Has Gone To The Pigs

I mean that quite literally.  It seems that the citizens are rather sloppy with their garbage, attracting these lovely little critters.  Actually, they are not so little and they can inflict serious hurt on people if they consider themselves provoked.

This seems like fitting punishment for the de facto worship of pachamama, the debauchery in the Vatican, the ingestion of the abortion-tainted covid-cootie-jab.  I wouldn't have been a bit surprised if the piggies were first seen trotting from the Vatican walls.  I seem to remember Our Lord exorcising some demons and allowing them to possess some pigs - rather fitting.
