Joe Scheidler - Requiescat In Pace

Today, January 18 2021 early in the morning, Joe Scheidler passed away from pneumonia at the age of 93.  He and his wife Ann are the founders of Pro-Life Action League, pioneers in exposing the truth of the violence of abortion via pictures of the tiny murdered children.

I was fortunate enough to meet him several times when he came to the DC area, and one of those meetings happened outside an abortuary where several of us offered prayers and counseling.  He was always supportive of our efforts to end the horror of abortion in our localities.

I will post below a tribute to him, created several years ago.  The narration is by Joe himself.  Those who really wish to honor him would do well to go to your local mills and offer prayers and assistance to abortion-minded women.

Please pray for the repose of his soul, and consolation for his family.  Also, ask his intercession for those of us still in the realm of the Church Militant who continue the fight for the Culture of Life, soon to be rendered all the more difficult under the looming Biden-Harris tyranny.

Red Rose Rescue In Washington DC Thursday May 14 2020

In the eyes of civil government, churches are deemed "non-essential" and are closed by unconstitutional dictatorial fiat.  Meanwhile, the baby-slaughter business is considered "essential".  The babies would take exception, and God certainly does.  Atrocities such as this are some of the reasons why God has allowed this corona scourge to afflict us.  The pro-life activists that you see in this clip (and others like them) stand in the breach as did Moses and Aaron to intercede, to stand in the gap, with their intercessions and works of mercy.

Not only do I encourage you to pray for an end to abortion, but to get yourself in front of the killing centers and be a witness for life.  The time is long past (if ever it existed) when we can sit on the sidelines and pretend that this isn't our problem.  We will all stand before God as He judges us at our death.  How will we answer Him?

Pro-Abort Acid Reflux Syndrome

Yes, this dread condition exists!  How do I know?  Why, I have seen such an individual who is afflicted with this malady.  I don't know his name so I'll call him "Mr Belcher" for reasons soon to be apparent.  Quite often the poor soul walks by us on Saturday mornings.  He looks towards us, and then the unfortunate fellow lets out with a loud burp.  This has happened several times now.  How distressing it must be for him!  Something tells me that he isn't the only victim of this disease.

So how does this sickness develop?  Is it because the afflicted ones have to swallow so much intellectual and moral bile that their very digestive systems rebel from such an insult?  Or maybe it's because they are truly trying to articulate their position, and all they can do is belch forth fetid gases.  That would make sense since the intellectual justification for baby-murder is nothing more than noxious vapors anyway.

We realize that by our very presence in front of these mills, we are offering much needed rebuke to any passers-by who favor the murder of tiny children.  The First Spiritual Work of Mercy is "Rebuke the Sinner".  When confronted with the truth, one only has two possible reactions: acceptance or rejection.  Mr. Belcher seems to be rejecting the truth, but burps are all that he can muster.  While he is still on this side of the grave, we pray that he repents of his support for baby-murder and for any personal involvement in that sin that there might be.

In the meantime, he might want to buy some Rolaids or Tums.

Attention Pro-Life People!

Pro-life people! Your presence on the sidewalk MATTERS! Notice that one sentence outside that abortuary made all the difference; the pro-life person who uttered that sentence probably didn't know for the birth mother was ushered out the back.

If it's been a while since you've been in front of an abortion mill to pray and/or offer assistance, please get back there!

From The Deathscort Follies Department: Deathscorts Try To Dictate Terms Of Public Discourse

Today's incident, occurring at approximately 9:30 this morning, is on the video below.  Although you can't see me behind the camcorder, you do hear me, particularly at the end.  The "WACDTF guidelines" to which I referred several times can be found on their website.  You may wish to have the page open in a separate window.  The deathscorts in the DC/MD area operate under an organization called "Washington Area Clinic Defense Task Force", or WACDTF for short.

According to these guidelines (such as they are), particularly the second one, they are supposed to "secure positions required to keep clinic access open".  It would seem logical that to follow a pro-life activist as she walks over one block away from the abortuary is to do the exact opposite of "securing these positions".  Yet that is precisely what happened.  The young male deathscort followed one of the pro-life people away from the mill to the parking garage that is a city block away from the mill.  While there, he interrupts another pro-life person as she is engaged in conversation.  That is the start of the video.  Later he arrogantly attempted to dictate terms of public discourse and I called him out on it.

On-The-Job Deathscort Training - Shoving And Bird-Flipping

In the past, I have posted some "on-the-job" training videos for DC-area deathscorts.  Yes, they ostensibly receive training and they're fed these "guidelines" (such as they are).  But that is not reality as you saw from the earlier videos and what you're about to see below.  Please keep those "goals and guidelines" open in another window as we proceed.

I won't have to say much, as the video will demonstrate how the advocacy for baby-murder corrodes both intellect and conscience.  It is helpful to note that this mill where I can be found most Saturdays is part of Planned Parenthood of Metro DC.  They have several locations in the area and usually only three have committed surgical abortions - this one being one of them.  The 16th street location has closed (awaiting completion of their new Northeast location) and I understand the Falls Church one has likewise closed.  That leaves this one the only one (to the best of my knowledge) tearing babies to pieces.  We have seen the uptick in numbers.  Also please note that the deathscorts are organized under an umbrella organization called "Washington Area Clinic Defense Task Force", or WACDTF for short.

The scene you're about to see is at the driveway to the facility that empties onto First Street.  The main offender is the lead deathscort / site coordinator or whatever they call their head honchos.  For her to be carrying on this way sets an example for her underlings to emulate.  Going to the WACDTF goals and guidelines, we see their "non-violence policy".  It states (in part) that "WACDTF volunteers agree not to act in a confrontational manner or to engage in physical or verbal attacks against anyone present. We ask people to abide by this Nonviolence Policy at all times. Any person who, in the opinion of the WACDTF site coordinator acts inappropriately will be asked to remove his or her WACDTF identifier and leave the clinic property."

Articulating The Pro-Abortion Mentality

My!  Doesn't that sound noble and lovely?  But these deathscorts do have a curious way of tossing their guidelines in the trash "when push comes to shove" and I mean that cliche in the literal sense.  You're going to see some shoving (e.g., engaging in physical attack) and bird-flipping (e.g., "act in a confrontational manner").  Teensy little problem here with the enforcement of this wondrous guideline!!  What happens when it is the "site coordinator" who carries on?  Hmmm...  Anyway, this is why we have these little "on-the-job" deathscort training videos - so that the newbies among the deathscorts can see the "real deal" as it were.

I'm sure once enough progressives see this video, they'll mobilize the Woodside neighborhood so they can put their leashes on their dogs and walk them in front of the deathscorts to "thank" them for facilitating baby-slaughter.

Please pray for an end to this slaughter.  Pray for that mother who was taken into the mill and for the others who were likewise brutalized today.

Sidewalk Counselors Speaking The Truth In New Jersey

Apparently this video was produced earlier today, in front of an abortuary in Cherry Hill, NJ.  Listen to the words of this sidewalk counselor.  How are you and/or your church living up to your responsibilities to speak up for the innocent babies?  If ever there was an authentic "social justice" issue, this is it.

McCullen V Coakley - Critical Bubble Zone Case

The United States Supreme Court will hear arguments in the above-named case beginning tomorrow.  This case, originating in Boston, deals directly with bubble zones and the First Amendment rights of sidewalk counselors as we seek to offer help to abortion-minded women.  Read here and here.  Do Eleanor McCullen and Mary O'Donnell, the two sidewalk counselors, look menacing?  They're in their late 70s and early 80s.  But they are praying and offering real assistance to women.  So I suppose they are threats - to the bottom lines of the Planned Parenthood abortuary.

Please pray for a just ruling in this case - not only for the First Amendment rights of the sidewalk counselors, but so that we aren't further impeded from offering help to moms and their babies.

The Necessity Of Infant Baptism - Sidewalk Counselors Take Note

I address this to fellow pro-life activists, particularly sidewalk counselors.  In some meeting that I've attended, I've heard leaders put forth a dangerous theory as to our main purpose on the sidewalks.  I quote from one leader, "our goal is not ultimately about saving babies from abortion…God can take care of the babies whether they’re born or not born.As Catholics we consign them to His mercy…what we’re really after is souls.”

Well, I'd hope that these "souls" include those of the unborn children.  Without sacramental baptism, they won't attain heaven.  They most certainly are our first priority.  I now link to a commentary by Dr Taylor Marshall on a bull against abortion issued by Pope Sixtus V in the 1500s (it was a problem back then).  Now listen to this homily on the topic; I find it to be quite thorough.

Self-Righteousness From An Accessory To Murder

From LifesiteNews we read that pro-choice clinic escorts (hereinafter referred to as "deathscorts") are displeased with our presence in front of the death camps.

The LifeSiteNews piece is This was based on a pro-abortion article written by a student from GWU who volunteers  as a deathscort; it appears that she does so in Virginia.  This means she probably hitched up with WACDTF.  We’ve known for some time that GWU is quite the recruiting ground for WACDTF.

Her article starts off with inaccuracies.  She says that “I figure that the women who come here have agonized over this decision enough. They have considered their own circumstances, looked at all the options, and come to the best possible decision that they can make.”  I can tell you that is often NOT the case.  One woman was referred to the mill by her doctor.  He told her to get “a procedure” done to address her morning sickness.  When we explained what “the procedure” was, she was horrified.  We got her real help.  That was several years ago; her baby is now in school.

Note towards the end where David Bereit hypothesizes his theory regarding the deathscorts’ rancor.  He opines, “They view us as self-righteous, judgmental, hateful, angry, trying to take away rights from women.   That's why they harass us. That's why they taunt us.”  With all due respect to David, I think his diagnosis to be simplistic and incomplete.  A key reason why they’re angry at us, even when we’re silent, is because our very presence out there pricks their seared consciences.  We are not validating them in their sin and therefore we are the objects of their derision.  As long as they continue in their mortal sin, that will never change.  Now while we don’t condemn them, we will not be hampered in our efforts to offer real life-affirming to women going in to the abortuary.  Funny thing – as much as the deathscorts wax self-righteous about “women’s rights”, they turn a blind eye to women who are obviously being coerced into abortion – all the more to fatten the wallets of the abortuaries whom they dutifully serve.

The so-called “service” happened in Virginia.  I wonder if this woman is sore about the closing of NOVA Women’s Health Care in Fairfax VA.  We commonly referred to it by the street name “Eaton Place”.  It was the busiest abortion mill in VA until new abortion regulations, championed by Ken Cuccinili, forced it to shut its doors and stop killing.  I suspect this deathscort’s article is nothing more than a pity-party.  As more mills close down, expect more of these screeds.  It’s just evil in its death throes.  And yes, pray that this woman and others like her repent.  Their immortal souls are in grave peril.

How To "Terrorize" Without Really Trying

We discovered how to do so - quite inadvertently - while we were in front of the Planned Parenthood death center in Silver Spring MD.  At the moment of this "discovery", there were a number of us on the sidewalk - pro-life activists, pro-abortion deathscorts and sundry building visitors.  All was calm, there was no particular agitation of note - at least to me.

Someone who drove by the north side of Spring Street was somewhat flustered, as he yelled out "Terrorists!" from his car window.  Wondering if he beheld something I couldn't see from my vantage point, I crossed the street to see if I could discover the cause of his alarm.  This is what I saw:

At first glance, the scene looks like what I described in the preceding paragraph.  But wait!  What is that picture on top of the car?  Why, yes!  Indeed it is the object of that man's obvious fright!  I zoomed in for a closer look and post it below.  Ladies and gentlemen, if and only if you have the courage, I invite you to view the horrible visage for yourselves - but be warned!  If it caused that man to accuse of being terrorists, why, it must be frightening indeed!

Are you really brave enough to sneak a peak?  OK - but don't say I didn't warn you!  You better have your smelling salts handy because here it is!

EEEEKK!!

Now that we've all sufficiently recovered our senses after what must have been the most terrifying moments in our lives to date, let's consider a few things.  If that man was an Obama fan, that is, a Minion Most Mindless of the Messiah Most Miserable, he will be of like mind with the mental midget who said that he wouldn't want his daughters "punished with a baby".  In other words, they hold the warped view that babies are things to be avoided at best - and even torn to shreds if they dare to exist at times deemed inconvenient.

Of course it's no secret that those who are depraved of conscience (and that includes all who deem themselves "pro-choice") will always find the proclamation of the truth to be a dire threat to their own cocoon of self-deception.  No sane, rational person could look at the picture of that sweet baby and have the word "Terrorists!" bleat from their mouths.  However, no person who calls themselves "pro-choice" can be called "sane" or "rational" for they permit, if not outright support, the wanton murders of innocent babies.

The real terrorism is what happens inside Planned Parenthood and the other execution chambers commonly known as "abortion clinics".  The silly antics of that drive-by shouter and too many others will never obfuscate that truth.

Young Lady, Almost Aborted, Tells Her Story

Please watch this and pay attention.  Understand some things.

• Prayer alone will not suffice to end abortion (or any other heinous evil).  We must act.  We must place ourselves - on a regular, frequent and committed basis - where the need is.
• One person - such as the sidewalk counselor of 18 years ago - can and will make a vital difference.
• At the 2:30 mark, note that the young lady makes plain that the usage of pictures depicting the horrible reality of baby-murder was a factor in saving her life.

The (Dis)Honorary Deathscort

That's what I'll call this bicycling interloper.  At about 8:20 this morning, the pro-life activist (in red shirt) was sharing pro-life information with a couple across the street from the Planned Parenthood in Silver Spring.  The bicyclist was riding by, then circled back and interjected himself into the conversation.  That's where my video picks up.  Click here if you can't see embedded video.


Clearly he had no concern for the couple nor for their unborn baby.  The next time these pro-abortion folks tell us how concerned they are for "privacy" we can just recall this fellow, for he had to eavesdrop on the conversation in order to butt in and interfere.

We never saw the couple again after the door closed behind them.  The guy cycled around us a few times before he decided that he had done enough damage for the day (or he just got bored) and rode away.  He's just another pro-abortion shill whose conscience is stung by our witness.  We hope and pray that he comes to repentance.

Abortionist Gives Sidewalk Counselors Handy Tips!

Yes, that post title is a tad sarcastic, but it fits in well with the silliness of this abortionist. First, ht to Jill Stanek who first posted this on her blog.

Ann Furedi, CEO of British Pregnancy Advisory Service, the UK's largest independent abortion perpetrator, had some (ahem!) "words of wisdom" to share with sidewalk counselors.  I won't bother to repeat the self-serving screed in its entirety here.  But I'll quote the last line and offer a "translation" for it is quite revealing not only of her arrogance, but her sheer stupidity in believing that any pro-life activist would actually take her nonsense seriously.

Here's the line. "Outside a clinic is the wrong place, and women in immediate need of care are the wrong audience."

Here's my translation. "Outside a clinic is the wrong place, for it reduces our daily bank deposits and hurts our profit margins.  These women are the wrong audience for they're supposed to be our customers and cash cows."  Don't you think that's much more accurate?

40 Days For Life - Lent 2012

St John Neumann Church - An Example To Emulate

Any prolife activist who has been in front of abortion mills for any appreciable length of time knows that there is a directly proportional relationship between the number of prolifers in front of the mills to the number of mothers who decide not to have their children murdered.  Simply put, when our numbers out there are greater, we see more babies saved and less babies murdered.  It's the power of prayer and of the physical presence of people who care.  Over the past year that there has been a concerted prolife witness on Wisteria Avneue in Germantown, where Dr. Carhart murders late-term babies, this dynamic has been seen over and over.

The website http://www.prayforgermantown.com/ details the prolife efforts there.  It makes plain that Carhart starts the three-day murder process on Monday mornings.  Hence they ask that all good people be on Wisteria Avenue between the hours of 8am-10am, since that is when most of the women arrive to start the grisly process.  We also know that many Catholic parishes have their daily Masses at 9am, posing an immediate conflict for those Catholics who would like to be both places at the same time.

Today St John Neumann Catholic Church in Gaithersburg announced that they are moving their Monday 9am Mass to 12 noon for the express purposes of:

• accomodating those who want to be on Wisteria Avenue to reach out to abortion-minded women
• encouraging more participation of Catholics by giving them a way to be on Wisteria Avenue without missing Mass

St John Neumann priests will hear Confessions that day starting at 11:30am, and the Miraculous Medal Novena will occur after Mass.  If the noon Mass is too late for some, both St John Neumann and St Martin of Tours do have Mass at 6:30am those days.

While I won't advocate that all neighboring parishes make those Mass changes (since for some people, 9am may be the only time they can make Mass), I will suggest three things for them to do:

1. Announce in your own bulletins St John Neumann's noon Mass, so that your parishioners will know there's a Mass available should they wish to join the prolife witness on Wisteria Drive.
2. Consider how your parish can encourage your own parishioners to support this life-saving effort.
3. Your own parish priests should make an ongoing commitment to be there.  The example of a parish priest will encourage parishioners to join him.

Remember - YOU are needed to be out there to intercede and save lives!

40 Days For Life To Commence Soon

All across the nation, the 40 Days for Life prayer and witness campaign in front of baby-killing centers will commence on September 28th and will run through November 6.  There are several of them occurring throughout the Maryland and DC areas.  Each locality has their own page as a subset of the main 40 Days site; thereon you can find news of rallies and you can also sign up to make a commitment to be at your local mill to pray with others.  I'll list them below.
