The Vatican Celebrates Gay-Enablers While Threatening SSPX With Excommunication

On July 1, the Society of St Pius X (SSPX) will ordain four bishops, to take their place among the current bishops who are aging.  Pope Leo, a few days ago, warned them against the ordination, stating that they risk being in schism.  Last month I wrote about excommunication and declarations of schism, and still wonder to whom those penalties would actually apply.

One who was unjustly and most likely improperly declared excommunicated is Archbishop Vigano.  He recently made public a letter that he wore to the pope.  One impetus behind this release is that he had made an appointment to discuss serious matters with the pope.  The pope canceled the meeting.  Thus he wrote the letter denouncing his excommunication as improperly done and thus null and voice, and declared that he was not in schism.  Read for yourselves.  

In my neck of the woods, word has it that Cardinal McElroy has banned the construction of new communion rails and the restoration of those communion rails that had been removed.  He also is reportedly discouraging the use of temporary kneelers.  Does that mean the prie-dieu as well?

More troubling, however, is that McElroy is supporting the perversion-promoting cleric Father James Martin's Outreach Conference that is happening now at Georgetown University.  Not only did he write a glowing letter (see for yourselves), he also spoke at the pervert gab-fest.  I would be pleasantly shocked if he took the opportunity to call the attendees to repentance for promoting and/or committing homosexual perversions, but I realistically harbor no such hope.  Dare I say that after that slop that he sent them, that he should require such penance himself?

By the way - the faithful and intrepid young men of the American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property were on hand at Georgetown to perform various Works of Mercy in the face of the blasphemy and sacrilege that this Outreach conference foisted on Georgetown.  A video will appear below the jump break.

Now let's get back to the situation at hand with the SSPX.  I am also posting a video from Anthony Stine of Return to Tradition who is dealing with this topic.  Note from the video a few things:

• There seems to be some scuttlebutt that not only will the pope excommunicate the bishops of the SSPX, but also the priests, deacons, sub-deacons and seminarians, as well as other religious (such as sisters) who are affiliated in any way with the SSPX.  Will he next put the laity who attend SSPX Masses into his cross-hairs?
• Stine cites canon law that stipulates that excommunication cannot occur for the ordination of the SSPX bishops.  They have no desire to separate from Rome and sincerely believe that the Church is in a state of emergency.  With prelates seeking to obliterate piety from Holy Mass and actively aiding and abetting the mortal sin of homosexual conduct, who can honestly doubt the emergency that truly does exist?
• Some traditional Catholics state that the SSPX is wrong to decline Cardinal Fernandez's offer for "dialog".  Perhaps they aren't aware of the strings that Fernandez attached: no consecration, and the doctrinal issues are off the table.  Oh, by the say, this Fernandez is Kissy-Face.

Cardinal Gregory To Say Mass For Perversion-Enablers This Weekend

Canon 212 linked to the gushing account of this gay-pandering gab-fest that will happen this weekend, starting Friday August 2, at Georgetown University.  Please note that this account is NOT from the Gay Blade, although one could understandably have that mistaken impression.  It is from the Vatican News.  They printed the pope's greetings to the participants in this gathering that will serve to condone the mortal sins of sodomy and other related perversions.  They intend to "build community and share best practices".

Again, note that the pope did not condemn these mortal sins.  He didn't even offer to the participants an exhortation to remember and to preach the Church's timeless teachings regarding these matters.  He sent "greetings" to Father James Martin, who will be there and is a founder of this "outreach" nonsense.  Here is the text of his note.  Furthermore, the pope is pleased that Cardinal Gregory will be offering one of the Masses at this affair.  At these Masses, how many sacrilegious Holy Communions will occur?  Quite a few, I daresay, and all with the approval of Cardinal Gregory and the Pope. 

"But these people may be trying to live by the Church's teachings," you say?  Well, here is the webpage for this conference.  Look at the "sponsor" section, and notice that a certain Jim O'Connor is a sponsor "in loving memory of his husband Carlos Cuartis".  One may hope that Cuartis had the grace to make a good Confession before he went before Our Lord for his particular judgment.

Ladies and gentlemen, we've known from Day One of his sorry tenure in the Archdiocese of Washington that Cardinal Gregory is an ally of those promoting various sexual perversions.  He has made no secret of that, as documented in previous posts and elsewhere.  We need to pray and act.  This weekend is a First Friday and First Saturday weekend.  These devotions are intended to do reparation for the outrages against both Our Lord's Sacred Heart and Our Lady's Immaculate Heart, respectively.  We must also act by raising our voices and withholding all donations to the Archdiocese of Washington.  Our Catholic dollars cannot be used to fund such sinful conduct.

TFP Student Action Protested Appearance Of Father James Martin At Georgetown November 6

Once again the fine gentlemen of TFP Student Action spoke against dissidence and corruption, this time at Georgetown University.  Father James Martin, a sin-coddling cleric, gave an address at Georgetown.  Accordingly, the Catholic men of TFP Student Action protested the honoring of an obviously disobedient priest.  

They prayed the Rosary and offered witness against the travesty about to occur.  This was not the first time that a prayerful protest at the Healy Gates of Georgetown was conducted by the TFP; I myself have joined them several times before this.  My one regret about this protest is that I didn't learn of it until this evening; else, I would have broadcast this far and wide to call other Catholics to join them.

I post the video below.  Note that towards the end some of the confused students snarled at the departing TFP men "don't come back".  Sadly, with Georgetown's dissidence track record, it will be necessary for TFP and other good Catholics to return.

The Pope - Pro-Abortion?

Fifteen or so years ago I would have thought the question to be preposterous.  No longer.  The Pope allowed Nancy Pelosi to receive Holy Communion in defiance of her own bishop and his tepid response to the overturning of Roe v Wade, hosted various pro-aborts in the Vatican over the years, and still retains Father James Martin after the latter tipped his hand with his "zygote" quip.  A reasonable person might suppose  that he has some pro-abortion sympathies.  He certainly is progressive in other areas.

Not-At-All Catholic Reporter Gets Its Undies Bunched Over The Traditional Latin Mass

 I came across this on Father James Martin's facebook page.  As you can imagine, he too got the vapors over the appeal of the Traditional Latin Mass.  Here is the article: "In Came Latin, Incense And Burned Books, Out Went Half The Parishioners".  It's not more than a glorified hissy-fit, and it's an admission of their own failures as much as the appeal of authentic Catholicism.

One Mad Mom did her own excellent critique of the NCR's hysteria, and I suggest that you read it.  I will supplement it with a few of my own observations.  

First, my own attendance at the Traditional Latin Mass had been slowly increasing in frequency before the pandemic.  When the mainstream bishops cowered before the magistrates during the onset of "restrictions", the Traditional Latin Mass literally became the only game in town, as it were.  Only those Masses was I able to attend, if only in my car, and receive actual Holy Communion.  For the first 8 weeks, I drove 2.5 hours each way to attend Mass.  Of course Holy Mass is worth it.  By God's grace I have not had to settle for spiritual Communion once on account of the pandemic and nonsensical "regulations".

The NCR piece starts by quoting Maria Lichtmann, a "religious scholar".  I googled her and discovered that she has a bit of a resume, peppered with all sorts of nods to her own dissidence.  What would an academic career be without a stint at Georgetown University?  On page 2 we see that there she taught a course called "The Problem of God".  On the same page we see her affiliation with the dissident bunch Pax Christi.  On page 5 we see that she authored a paper entitled "My Search For The Goddess" and on page 6, "Saint Paul Reexamined: The Case For Women Priests".  So of course this woman would find the presence of authentic Catholicism to be "strange" and perhaps even threatening to her shaky beliefs.

The parishioners who abhor tradition are conducting Mass in an auto body shop.  Like One Mad Mom, I hope the bishop clamps down on that.  Anyway, the article quotes Father John Hoover, one of the two priests who says Mass in this setting, probably illicitly.  He states that after the homily, he invites parishioners to talk of their spiritual struggles.  Not after Mass, but after the homily, as in "before the Creed" and "during Mass"?  These shenanigans are prime examples of why these parishioners don't value the Real Presence nor Our Lord's One True Church.

I could go on and on.  Suffice it to say that both Father Martin and the Not-At-All Catholic Reporter have given to the One True Church an unintentional salute, acknowledging that their efforts to dismantle and desconstruct the One True Church are being successfully opposed.

Trump Orders Governors To Stop Hindering Places Of Worship

Today the president acknowledged that churches, synagogues, mosques are "essential" and ordered governors to cease their lockdowns of worship.  He further added that if they fail to do so, that he will override them.   In Maryland, I don't know how that will pan out, since Hogan has largely punted that question to the counties.

Isn't it a sad commentary on the faith (or lack thereof) of our bishops when a civil leader understands the importance of prayer to God but the bishops exhibit, at best, a blase attitude towards worship of God?  The Minnesota bishops and some Protestants are a happy exception to that mindset, but their numbers are few and far between.

Even now, the left is working to undermine Trump's defense of freedom of religion.  I will post now a screenshot of a post by dissident Fr James Martin.

Just look at the first two sentences of the screed and notice the logical disconnect.  He is deiberately twisting the meaning of Trump's words to the governors to imply that Trump is ordering the churches to reopen.  Nothing of the sort is happening.  Churches may well believe that they should remain closed.  No one is forcing them to open.  But by the same token, the First Amendment prohibits government from forcing them to shutter.  That is what Trump is addressing.  Either Martin has some problems with basic reading comprehension or he's being disingenuous.  Let's cut to the chase; it's the latter and he just got caught with his hand in the cookie jar on that one.

So either the govenrors will remember that they are sworn to uphold the United States Constitution (refer to First and Fourteenth Amendments), or President Trump will protect US citizens from overbearing governors and local bureaucrats.  Once that happens, we will hold the bishops' feet to the fire.  Bishop Schneider had some choice words for those withholding the Sacraments, calling them "fake shepherds".  He couldn't be more correct.  Those words apply to Archbishops Gregory and Lori in my locality.  I'm just thankful that there are pockets of sanity in my area, but again I'm looking at several hours on the road because our prelates fear Hogan, Bowser, and Northam more than God.

A Silver Lining In The Corona Cloud

Last month I wrote of a retreat for gay priests scheduled for April 14-16 at the Bon Secours Retreat Center in Marriottsville, MD.  It was to be led by Father Peter Daly and was supported by Father James Martin - two perversion promoters if ever they existed.  The days were Tuesday to Thursday. Let's be honest.  We know what kind of, "sessions" would have been occurring on Tues and Wed evenings.

We tried to petition Archbishop Lori to take action against this raunch-fest, but he refused to utter a peep.  However, blessings can come from calamities.  From the website of Bon Secours we see that the CDC shut them down until May 10.  Moreover, if you go to my first post and click on the "scheduled retreat" link, you will notice that New Ways broke the link.  We can conclude that the retreat will not happen in April.

I suspect they will try to reschedule the thing.  We will alert you when we learn something.  Plans may be in the making to ask Archbishop Lori to exercise his authority with the Bon Secours staff and forestall any attempt to reschedule it.

Gay Priest Retreat In Maryland This Coming April

Last week LifeSiteNews published an opinion piece entitled "Time For Bishops To Be Faithful And Shut Down Renegade Priests Who Champion Homosexuality".  A picture of Baltimore's Archbishop William Lori is at the top of the piece.  The reason for that is the scheduled "retreat" for gay priests that is slated to be held at Bon Secours Retreat Center in Marriottsville MD from April 12-14.   The retreat is being led by Fr Peter Daly and most likely Father James Martin will be in attendance.  Let's examine the pieces to this impending debacle.

Bon Secours is itself a dissident den of iniquity.  If the name sounds familiar to readers of this blog, that is because Bon Secours is where Gordon Creamer, gay-married parish council chair of St Ignatius Catholic Church, carries on with his so-called "spiritual direction".  St Ignatius is a parish in the Mount Vernon area of Baltimore City.  They openly flaunt their participation in Baltimore's "gay pride" parade/orgies.  I tried to engage the pastor about the matter, but oddly enough (cough!) he wasn't particularly interested in discussing the matter!  I submit that this pastor, along with Fr Joseph Muth of St Matthew's on Loch Raven Blvd are priests whom Lori should shut down.

Let's look at the retreat leader, Father Peter Daly, as I've written quite a bit about him, too.  In this anthology of posts, you see an account of his interactions with  young men struggling with same-sex attraction.  He admits to telling them that their disordered inclinations aren't disordered and that to act on them isn't sinful.  He pointed them straight towards hell and gave a nudge.  One can bet that is exactly what will happen in Marriottsville in two months.

Now let's look at the reactions of the two Maryland archbishops.  Archbishop Lori continues to turn a blind eye on both St Matthew's and St Ignatius.  Both are dens of gay perversions; there could be more.  These are the only two of which I'm aware at this time  Archbishop Gregory has actually shown himself to be an ally of proponents of gay perversions.  This past summer he openly praised Fortunate Familes duing one of his first "Theology on Tap" presentations.

Will they listen to our demands that they clean up their churches?  One language that they seem to understand is that of money - or more accurately, lack of donation money.  The DC archdiocese is gearing up for its Annual Appeal.  It used to be called the Archbishop's or Cardinal's Appeal (depending on rank of prelate).  They at least know that they cannot invoke the prelate to raise money, as our prelates of late have been, uh, "credibility-challenged" shall we say.  On the webpage they say that 60+ charities are supported via this collection.  Guess what?  You can support good charities directly, without the Archdiocese taking a cut of them.  Moreover, you'd be able to select the recipients of your hard-earned dollars.  Do NOT give one red penny to this or any other diocesan-wide collection.  They have proven over and over again to be unworthy recipients of donations and inept stewards to boot.  I don't know when the Baltimore campaign will happen, but that too should be boycotted until Archbishop Lori disinfects St Matthew's and St Ignatius AND quashes this upcoming "retreat".

Taylor Marshall Interviews George Neumayr About Confrontation With Fr Martin

A few days ago, Taylor Marshall interviewed George Neumayr.  A week or two prior to that interview, Neumayr attended a talk given by Fr. James Martin and was able, in a "q&a" session, to make Martin publicly squirm.

Many interesting things are said in the video below.  I call your attention to remarks made at the 17:00 mark and at the 40:37 mark.  Both men are remarking how the pope's tinkering with the Church's perennial teaching on the death penalty paved the way for other more recent insults to tradtion.  I made the exact same point in several of my earlier posts over a year ago, particularly this one and this one.

Then at the 39:57 mark, Neumayr states that we have to be willing to confront error head-on as he did with Martin.  Gone are the days when we could just do with writing letters to ask prelates not to honor heretics, almost groveling in the process.  We must be willing to make the evil-coddlers uncomfortable in their toadying.  I'll most likely have more on that in a future post.

Homophile Priests Emboldened In Their Advocacy Of Mortal Sin

Sooner or later, for someone who has lost his/her faith in the One True God, hubris will win over any vestige of discretion.  We are seeing that unfold with the pope and other Vatican henchmen as their idolatry is visible for all the world to see.  Now we see it for Father James Martin in this revelatory tweet.

Interesting: "Where the Bible mentions [same-sex sexual] behavior at all, it clearly condemns it. I freely grant that. The issue is precisely whether the biblical judgment is correct. The Bible sanctioned slavery as well and nowhere attacked it as unjust.. https://t.co/52jL6NDgRu

Yes, he is saying that the Bible, the Holy Word of God, is in error for calling the mortal sin of sodomy an actual sin.  Of course in so doing Martin is committing several objectively sinful acts himself - most likely mortal for he is not unaware of the gravity of them.

DC-area Catholics, please bear in mind that Archbishop Gregory holds this heretic in high esteem; he has clearly stated that several times.  Also, recall that while Wuerl ran the show here, he had Martin give the Good Friday homily at St Matthew's Cathedral in 2017.  I think we'd better be on alert and be prepared to picket/protest if/when he shows up at another local Catholic venue.

Speaking of priests cooperating in the mortal sin of sodomy, my blogging colleague at An Archdiocese of Washington Catholic has given us an update on Father Peter Daly - yes, him.  He has struck hands with New Way Ministries and is speaking at their "retreat".  In other words, he's going to urge people to continue sinning mortally.  He retired several years ago after being pastor of St John Vianney in Prince Frederick, MD.  Alas, he just can't stop using his Roman collar to lead souls to hell.  Let's pray that he repents before it's too late, for he is getting on in years.

So Much For Accompanying In The San Diego Diocese!

Bishop McElroy of the Diocese of San Diego has hosted "listening sessions" for the benefit of those Catholics in his diocese who are troubled by the sex scandals.   Well, for the benefit of some Catholics.  McElroy has evicted several faithful who have brought up failings of McElroy himself - including the retention of a sodomite in prominent positions who lives in gay #mowwidge.

Church Militant has obtained footage of one such ejection and has exposed another.  Lepanto Institute recorded the ejection of a woman who rebuked the retention of a sodomite as a diocesan employee.  The latter caused McElroy to go into a royal hissy fit as he had her forcibly ejected.

The Lepanto piece delved more into the background of Aaron Bianco, the sodomite occupying several positions of influence.  Lepanto pointed out his address: an address that is available to anyone who googles his name.  I tried it myself and here's the link.

Father James Martin, infamous dissident, is one not to let a good crisis go to waste.  Get a load of his tweet.  He did relate some good news: that Bianco resigned.  In reality, Bianco should have been fired long before this.  Notice how Martin intimates that Lepanto and LifeSiteNews hunted down Bianco's address and maliciously published it?  Again, I myself found it in 20 seconds just by googling his name.  Martin also tried to implicate Church Militant with responsibility for the church vandalism: something for which he has absolutely no proof.  Here's the link to his tweet.  Please open the entire thread.  See how he tries to ascribe responsibility for the tire-slashing to Church Militant?  Teensy problem for Martin: the tire-slashing happened last year, before this expose.  CM has replied that Martin may find himself with a defamation suit on his hands.  I for one hope CM goes for it.

Martin also calls for the "reporting" of faithful Catholics who rebuke those in mortal sin.  He is of the same nazi-esque mindset as McElroy, who gives faithful Catholics the heave-ho from his "listening sessions".  Only dissidents and/or perverts are to be accompanied.  Maybe that's just as well because I for one would not want to accompany them on their current hell-ward direction.

Heretical Filth On Website Of Archdiocese Of Baltimore

I recently came across a tome entitled "U.S. Jesuit Urges Catholics To Examine Attitudes Towards LGBT Community".  I don't have time to correct every error in this pig-slop, so I'll home in on just a few.  First, we examine these two paragraphs.  Here they are as originally presented:

He urged people to examine their own attitudes and ask themselves whether they believe someone “is sinful because she’s lesbian, or more inclined to sin than a straight woman? Do you hold the parents ‘responsible’ for a gay teen’s orientation? Do you think a person is transgender person only because it’s ‘fashionable’?” he challenged. 

One of his recommendations for Catholic parishes and communities is not to reduce gays and lesbians to the call to chastity.

I'll now reprint it with comments interspersed in red.

He urged people to examine their own attitudes and ask themselves whether they believe someone “is sinful because she’s lesbian, or more inclined to sin than a straight woman?  They certainly are more inclined to commit mortal sins of sexual perversions than would be straight people. Do you hold the parents ‘responsible’ for a gay teen’s orientation?  If the parents in any way applaud or facilitate their children's dalliances with that mortal sin, they certainly are.  Of course there are good parents who are most definitely heart-broken that their gay children are endangering their own immortal souls.   Do you think a person is transgender person only because it’s ‘fashionable’?” he challenged.  Irrelevant.  Anyone who flirts with "being transgender" is playing God with his/her own person.

One of his recommendations for Catholic parishes and communities is not to reduce gays and lesbians to the call to chastity.  The call to chastity is not a "reduction".  It is a command of God enjoined upon all persons.  Those with a homosexual orientation are not exempt from that call on account of that orientation.

Like I said, I just don't have the time to unpack that entire mess.  I will now point out the worst thing regarding that article.  Where was it published?  Was it published in "America"?  No!  How about Not-At-All Catholic Reporter?  Again, no.  It was published on the website of the Archdiocese of Baltimore.  Furthermore, it is an article circulated by the Catholic News Service, the official news arm of the USCCB.  Over the past few days, Archbishop Lori et al have issued statements of regret regarding the PA grand jury report and McCarrick's ouster.  I replied to them, saying that we'll know if he's serious if he purges the gay rot from St Matthew's on Loch Raven Blvd and St Theresa's in Severn.  Now he needs to get it out of the Archdiocese's own website.  Lots of people need to be fired.

Pope Francis Owns The Gay Problem In The Church

Of course he didn't start it, for flaming gays were in high places of Church power long before Cardinal Bergoglio ascended the papal throne.  However, he has not so much failed to make any headway with the problem as much as he has acted to further ensconce them within positions of Church influence.  Two weeks ago his latest pro-sodomy dissidence was spoken to Juan Carlos Cruz when the pope told Cruz "God made you that way.."

This blog and others have listed the myriad ways that the pope has given green lights to gays and their enablers.  Two of the most egregious are:

• Appointing dissident Father James Martin S.J. to the Vatican Communication Office
• Allowing Cardinal Timothy Dolan to continue to harbor gays in the Archdiocese of New York

Two weeks ago, Michael Voris, in his Vortex, excoriated all this gay-pandering.  Please listen very closely to it.  In it, he acknowledges the pope's horrible error and admits no doubt that the blasphemy escaped the pope's lips.  Voris went so far as to offer a rebuke to both the Cardinal and the Pope.  He was right to do so.

In yesterday's Vortex, though, he backpeddled a bit when he attempted to cast doubt as to whether or not the pope uttered the blasphemy.  

• He states that "no member of the hierarchy has said anything about it", with "it" being the pope's words as related by Cruz.  Well, doesn't the "hierarchy" include the pope?  And why haven't they cleared any misunderstanding?  Such would be their duty, to mitigate any confusion to the faithful.
• He points out that Father James Martin has become "the waterboy for the advancing of the gay agenda".  True enough; I already mentioned his Vatican appointment above, and there's more that will be detailed in the following paragraphs.

I linked to the article as opposed to merely posting the video for I think the comments below are most instructive for the way they articulate the pope's responsibility for this debacle.  I myself would have commented; however, for similar comments that I made in previous articles, I've been banned from commenting on the CM website.  Voris tried to chide them saying that they're "going back to Catholic cool to slam the pope".  I commend the others for their polite, firm, and educated responses to that childishness.  Should those comments be pulled, I've saved screenshots.

As promised, I'll give the latest news regarding Father Martin, courtesy of Rorate Caeli.  The World Meeting of Families will be held in Dublin, Ireland on August 21-24, 2018.  Guess who's been invited to speak?  Yes, and he claims that the invitation was extended by both the Archdiocese of Dublin and the Vatican.  I've no reason to doubt his account.  News of this came after the release of yesterday's vortex.  This is just the latest of the pope's smooch-ups to gays; there will be more soon enough, I'm sure.

I've rehearsed these old problems because tomorrow Church Militant will host a webinar called "Catholic and Gay".  It will ostensibly instruct the faithful Catholic in how to combat the gay infestation in the Church.  I've no doubt that many good points and suggestions will be made in that regard.  However, if Church Militant continues to side-step the proverbial "elephant in the living room" regarding the pope's own fostering of gays within the Church, the information they present will be woefully incomplete.  The same goes for those who still refuse to acknowledge the objective harm caused by this pope; their efforts to improve the church will be stymied.  It's time for them - including Church Militant - to admit the truth so it can be addressed.

More Faithful Catholics Fighting Rot Inside The Church - Update At Bottom

Last month faithful Catholics were instrumental in keeping the heretical Father James Martin from spewing his poison via "lenten reflections" at a New Jersey parish.  In two weeks, Martin will speak at Chicago's Holy Name Cathedral.  He is doing so at the express invitation of Cardinal Blaise Cupich.  Yes, he's the same Cardinal who made nice-nice with pro-abort Dick Durbin after Bishop Paprocki instructed his priests to obey Canon 915 if Durbin were to present himself for Holy Communion.

Again Catholics are raising their voices in Chicago.  The staunchly Catholic group Tradition, Family and Property will be spearheading a protest during his appearances.  Other faithful Catholics will be joining them.  The TFP is spearheading a prayer of reparation on account of  Martin's poisonous promulgations scheduled to happen at the University of Cincinnati on March 24.  Martin will be joined by gay-rights activist Sr. Jeannine Gramick, one of the two founders of New Ways Ministry; she was officially silenced for her dissent but defies that order to the detriment of her soul.

There are two other events that warrant the prayers and even protests of faithful Catholics in the U.S.  From CatholicHeraldUK we hear that Msgr Pio Vito Pinto, Dean of the Roman Rota, will be giving a "course" on matrimony and the family.  Pinto has cast slurs upon the dubia cardinals and favors giving Holy Communion to adulterers.  This will happen in the Diocese of Austin TX.  The course is mandatory for all clergy there.

On April 28th, gay ex-Jesuit Dan Schutte will be giving a concert at Our Lady of Visitation Catholic Church in Kansas City.  Tickets to this thing cost $20.00.  While that may not seem to be a lot to charge, bear in mind that it is a violation of canon law to demand money for any event held in a Catholic Church.  However, that is a minor issue compared with the scandal of a gay ex-priest being allowed to peddle his wares in a Catholic Church.  Schutte never overtly admitted his perversion.  Preferring to be coy about the matter, he declines to answer any questions, claiming that "it can affect how people experience the music itself".  Think about that for a minute.  If he were to state that he isn't gay, how could that adversely "affect how people experience the music"?  Answer - no way.  In trying to be cute and coy about the question, Schutte tipped his hand.  Now the real question is, what are the local Catholics going to do abut this planned travesty?

Similar questions may well be looming on the horizon for those of us in the Archdiocese of Washington.  In light of this "pastoral plan" to foist Amoralis Lamentia upon us, what will we do if we are ever subject to heresy spewing from the pulpits, gays being affirmed in their mortal sins, flagrant pro-aborts strutting up the Communion line, etc?  I'm hearing rumors of parishes preparing to go hog-wild over this. To my ADW readers: if you get wind of mischief afoot, please advise me and send documentation of the same (bulletins, handouts, etc) to Faithful Catholics of MD/DC, PO Box 2192, Montgomery Village, MD 20886.  Organize among yourselves and prepare to take action, such as the TFP group is doing.  By God's grace, we must stand in the gap - not only with prayer but with action.

UPDATE - Thanks again to Catholic action, the Schutte concert has been moved off Church grounds.  At least sacred property won't be profaned.  I don't think our concern should stop there.  Perhaps a rosary could happen outside the new venue.  Certainly we should be asking this National Association of Pastoral Musicians what motivates them to slobber after people like Schutte in the first place.

Our Prayers And Protests Do Matter

The heretical Jesuit Father James Martin was scheduled to give a Lenten reflection on February 15, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes parish in Metuchen NJ.  Permission for the sacrilege had actually originated from the deanery as opposed to the parish.

Happily, faithful Catholics got wind of the upcoming travesty and complained to the diocese in loud numbers.  The pastor of the parish said "I've gotten too many protests; I'm not doing it this year".  Other nearby parishes also refused to host Martin so his talk will occur in a secular venue.

This is not the first time that faithful Catholic in the Diocese of Metuchen shamed church officials into doing the right thing.  Almost three years ago, a teacher in a local Catholic high school was fired because she upheld Church teaching on her facebook page - all with the approval of then-bishop Bootkoski.  After hearing righteous anger from faithful Catholics, the teacher was restored to her position.

Now see this collection of posts.  If you go all the way down, you'll see that Cardinal Wuerl invited Martin to give reflections last Lent at St. Matthew's Cathedral in Washington DC.  I regret that we didn't learn of it in time to launch a protest effort.  However, we did have two months' notice of an address that he was to give at a priests' symposium last September (also in that string of posts).  Again, the resultant protests were enough to cause the symposium organizers to do the right thing and cancel Martin's talk - albeit reluctantly.

The point behind all this is simple.  THE PRAYERS AND PROTESTS OF EACH ONE OF US DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!  Never shrug your shoulders and complain "what's the use?"  We are the Church Militant.  When we act, we often have an impact.  If we don't, then of course evil will triumph.  Ora et labora!

In Face of Correctio Filialis, Vatican Circles Wagons

Remember when Pope Francis welcomed criticism?  He in fact called it "healthy".

My!  How times do change!

Both LifeSiteNews and One Peter Five have launched sites whereby faithful Catholics can sign petitions in support of the Filial Correction (Correctio Filialis) that was publicized this weekend.  Any faithful Catholic with internet access can sign if they choose.  Well, almost  any faithful Catholic!

Those Catholics within the Vatican will not be able to see those sites.  The Secretariat for Communications for the Holy See has blocked any computer within the Vatican from accessing these sites.   We might have expected this kind of conduct from Red China behind its Great Wall, but the Vatican?  Gee willickers!  Isn't criticism supposed to be healthy?  That's what Pope Francis said - a few years ago.  How strange!  To add to the strangeness, consider who was appointed a consultor for that office by the pope.  Yes!  Father James Martin!  I suppose, though, we shouldn't be too surprised, given Martin's propensity to block anyone who contradicts his posts and tweets.  The progressives are revealing their tyrannical colors!

Reach Out To Poor Bishop McElroy!

Last week we saw how faithful Catholic activists were instrumental in keeping Father James Martin from polluting several Catholic locations with his heretical bile.  Martin has taken to social media pages bemoaning the fact that some of us truly care about our faith and have the backbones to stand up to him.  Others have joined Martin in bashing us.  One publication went so far as to call us "Catholic Cyber Militia".  I'm sure they thought of that as an insult, but I think I'll wear that one with just a smidgen of pride!  :-)

Another who has waxed hysterical about us is Bishop Robert McElroy of the Diocese of San Diego.  We've heard of him before now, haven't we?  Anyway, he's decided that our concerns are "verbal violence" and "cancer"; see here and here.

The Church Militant link, at the bottom, gives the phone number to the bishop's office.  Please call and let them know what you think.  To the readers who have the misfortune to call him their bishop, you can assist him in a special way.  Since he seems to think that anything that proceeds from us is "cancer", why, he must have the same misgivings about your donation dollars, right?  Now you can assure him that no longer will you be foisting upon him your diseased lucre.  Heavens!  We wouldn't want him to catch conservative cooties from your contaminated contributions!  Assure him that no longer will have have to worry about any monetary contagions from you.  I'm sure he'll be most grateful.  On a serious note, the language of money does seem to be one of the few to which they actually pay some attention.  Let's not be afraid to speak it.  Onward, Catholic Cyber Militia!!

Warped Treatment Of Priests

My blogging colleague at Les Femmes has written of the treatment meted out to a good priest that she knows.  Her post is here.  Father Aitcheson, prior to his conversion to the Faith, was a member of the Ku Klux Klan.  He repented of his sin of racism well before he entered seminary.  Maria Santos Bier, a writer for the Washington Post, got wind of this and wrote a hit piece for the Post on Father.  Of course the "compost" would lap it up in a heartbeat, for they got to tar a hated Catholic priest as a racist.  Mary Ann correctly points out that Bier committed a mortal sin of detraction.  For those confused about detraction, it is defined in Catholic moral theology as "the unjust damaging of another's good name by the revelation of some fault or crime of which that other is really guilty or at any rate is seriously believed to be guilty by the defamer".

So while good priests see their vocations seriously compromised owing to long-repented faults, flaming dissident priests are celebrated precisely because of their poisonous heresies.

Father James Martin has been in the news in Catholic media circles.  Rightly ejected from Catholic speaking venues because of his promotion of sodomy, he has taken to whining and pouting all over social media.  In the course of so doing, he continues to spew forth heresy.  Consider this facebook post of his.  It's a long screed, and the heresy appears in the very last sentence: "And the Holy Spirit knows what She is doing".  Yes, you read that correctly.  He refers to the Third Person in the Trinity in the feminine.  In both Scripture and Tradition, all Three Persons of the Trinity have always been referred to in the masculine.  Given Martin's sordid history of promoting sexual perversion, we know he was taking another jab at Christ's teachings, blaspheming the Holy Spirit in the process.

Father Martin is the sort of priest who is celebrated by the Washington Compost and other rags - because both Martin and the progressives hate Catholic morality.  Mary Ann's piece suggests that Bier might be carrying on in the tradition of the traitorous Brutus; so is Father Martin.

Catholic Activists Save Theological College From Father Martin

Two months ago I posted that Jesuit heretic Father James Martin was scheduled to be the keynote speaker at a symposium being conducted by Washington Theological College.  In that post, you'll see that commenter "kiwiinamerica" lamented that Martin would probably never be disinvited.  At the time, his/her doubts were well-founded.  He/she can now rejoice for now Martin is disinvited, thanks be to God.

Left-wing rags are wailing and bemoaning Martin's well-deserved comeuppance.  Take a look at this whiny pout from the Not-At-All-Catholic Reporter.  They interviewed Martin, who puts the blame on "far-right church websites such as Church Militant, LifeSiteNews and the blog run by Father Zuhlsdorf".  Of course those sites also include many other blogs run by faithful Catholics - such as this one.  I'll have more to say on this point later in the post.

Church Militant has some more details.  Not only was Martin dumped from the Theological College event, but he was also axed as a speaker for a gala to be held by the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre.  In that situation, their leadership faced backlash from outraged knights.  Martin himself snivels and pouts about the cancellations on his facebook and twitter pages.

Despite the "poor widdle me" tripe that Martin exudes on his pages, the record tells the story of his attempt to normalize the mortal sin of sodomy.  In this clip he actually calls for "reverence" of sinful situations.  Note that his gay friend, who thinks he's "married" to his accomplice in sin, is the chair of the theology department at Fordham University.  Both he and Martin, unless they repent and confess their sins, will be accountable for leading many young souls down a path to perdition.  For clarification on that point, I now link to a piece by Msgr Charles Pope that summarizes Christ's teachings on homosexual conduct.

When I wrote my piece two months ago, I too didn't think there was much chance that Martin would be disinvited from the symposium, seeing how he enjoys the favor of both Pope Francis and Cardinal Wuerl.  In retrospect I believe there were several factors, and some lessons we can learn in combating similar threats to Church integrity that will present themselves in the future.  I'll list them in "bullet" format.

• Prayer for God's protection  Nothing of this sort can happen without God's grace.  We must continue to pray.  Frequent the sacraments and pray the Rosary daily.  Mention these threats by name when you pray.
• Social media  Martin himself alluded to that as he blamed "far right sites" for stopping his appearances.  Please watch not only the sites he mentioned but smaller sites as well.  Often it is the smaller sites that will carry news pertaining to their localities; these also deserve the attention of faithful Catholics local to those areas.  The mainstream media (including diocesan publications and faux-katholic liberal rags) are not reliable sources of information.  Of course when you see topics such as these, pass them along your own social sites and email lists.
• Action It is critical that when we are notified of these situations, that we not only pray but we must act as well.  Such action will include:
• Phone calls  Martin specifically blamed phone calls to Theological College as a primary cause for his ejection from the symposium.  If you called to protest his planned appearance, you share the credit just as much as any one of us bloggers.
• Boycotts I'd suspect that many callers to CU made plain that if Martin did appear, that they'd never contribute anymore to them.  Sometimes money talks louder than Catholic duty, so let's not be reticent about using that language.
• Protests/pickets One of my facebook friends, when she learned of the cancellation, remarked that she now "had the day off".  She was planning to protest the appearance.  Even the possibility of a protest is a strong deterrent to misbehavior.

Make no mistake about this.  The Theological College did not cancel Martin because they suddenly remembered that they were Catholics.  Far from it.  Take a look at their announcement below; they make plain why they earned the nickname "theological closet".  They cancelled because we behaved like the Church Militant (not the site) that we are.  Let's take heart from this and remember, for these situations will crop up again - although they might crop up with less frequency now.

Progressive Vatican Hyenas Frothing At The Mouth

One such critter is Father James Martin, author of the misnamed "Building Bridges".  That screed is nothing more than a lame attempt to normalize the mortal sin of homosexual perversion.  Happily Father Martin has been and is being rebuked by fellow clergy.  Cardinal Robert Sarah, in a piece published in the Wall Street Journal, reminded him that "those who speak on behalf of the Church must be faithful to the unchanging teachings of Christ"  (italics mine).

Pssst!  Father Martin!  The Catholic Church has always had the best bridge for those living in perversion to come back to the Church!  It's called the Sacrament of Confession!  You cannot improve on that!

Archbishop Chaput spoke similar words in his regular column in the newspaper of the Philadelphia archdiocese.  In that column Chaput reminds Martin (and all of us) that "the church is not simply about unity - as valuable as that is - but about unity in God's love rooted in truth."

The archbishop's words were enough to arouse the ire of Father Thomas Rosica.  It doesn't take too much to get his dander up. I could spend an hour unpacking the errors in this latest of Rosica's rants, but I don't want him monopolizing my time.  You might recall that Father Rosica actually attempted to sue one of my blogging colleagues at Vox Cantoris for calling him out on various heresies; his Vatican superiors put the kibosh on that stunt.  However, Rosica, in that column, took the occasion to lambast faithful Catholic bloggers as "the dark, dysfunctional side of the Catholic blogosphere...erecting high, impenetrable walls and noisy echo chambers of monologue.”  With respect to his badmouthing of us bloggers, maybe someone should remind him that "to use clerical status, episcopal authority, or other forms of leadership to dismiss, disparage or slam the efforts of those who simply want to reach those on the peripheries is not befitting of shepherds, pastors or servants of the Lord. It has nothing to do with the Gospel! It is not who we are!"  Now who originally uttered those words??  Hmm...!

Professor Josef Seifert is another faithful Catholic who has taken issue with Amoralis Lamentia.  I related a few days ago how he (and many others) were expelled from the Pontifical Council for Life to make room for dissenters.  We now learn that he was fired from his position at the International Academy of Philosophy in Granada by the local Archbishop Martinez Fernandez.  Seifert rightly pointed out that if unrepentant adulterers and sodomites were seen as justified, then the same could happen for anyone else embroiled in any intrinsic moral evil.  He called AL a "theological atomic bomb".  That was enough to get him sacked.  I suspect that if Seifert advocated for more perversion, he might have been offered tenure.

Moral of the story?  When one advocates for rank disobedience to God's moral laws, today's Vatican rewards them with prominent positions.  When one defends the timeless teachings of Jesus Christ, the current hierarchy, headed by Pope Francis, plunges the long knives in their back. The persecution is real and is becoming ever more stark; be watchful and praying.
