The New De Facto American Flag

As of late last night, the GOP leadership (GOP, as in "Gutless Old Poops"), once again wimped out and caved on the funding of Planned Parenthood.  That means that once again, they have consented to the pilfering of the wallets of American taxpayers to fund the mass-murder of thousands of babies every day.  You see, they were afraid of "losing leverage" if the federal government were to shut down for a few days.  Yes, of course the key word is "afraid".

Afraid of what?  The mass mainstream-lamebrain media?  Again the GOP leadership assumed control of the House of Representatives in spite of  the best efforts of the mass-media.  In kissing up to Obama, Reid and all the progressive power brokers, the GOP leadership turns their backs on the American people who put them in their positions of power and the charge that we have given to them.

"But don't worry!  We'll have THE BIG FIGHT in September!" the GOP wonks assure us.  Well, wait a minute!  When they caved the previous time, they told us that they would stand firm this time!  Now that they've caved yet again, why on earth should we believe that they'll grow a backbone by September?

Because I sent emails to my Annapolis representatives these past few months, who all happen to be Democrats, I was placed on the email list of the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee.  They sent an email today announcing the budget deal.  The first sentence was, "The Republicans blinked."  I regret that this is an accurate summary of the GOP's behavior yesterday.

By the way - I thank Michael Hichborn of the American Life League for the flag; I lifted it off his Facebook page.

Attention All RINOs!

You know who you are!  You're the "country-club", ever-so-sophisticated inside-the-beltway elites who don't mind being the minority as long as you get a generous supply of crumbs from the table.  You are all too willing to throw conservative principles in the trash can in order to secure those plumb crumbs.  Well, despite your bumbling, you made significant gains in the Senate and won control of the House this past week.

GOP = Gutless Old Poops

So what is the latest manifestation of calcium deficiency in their spinal columns now?  It has to do with how they plan to (NOT!) fight the Kagan nomination.  Lifenews reveals that John Kyl, ranking Republican of the Senate Judiciary Committee is dismissing the tactic of filibuster in the Kagan case.  Says the Senator, "The filibuster should be relegated to the extreme circumstances, and I don't think Elena Kagan represents that."

What is necessary, in their opinions, to qualify as "extreme circumstances"?  Must the nominee in question be a reincarnation of Atila the Hun, or Adolf Hitler, or Joseph Stalin?

Ladies and gentlemen of the GOP, in case you haven't noticed, we are fighting for the soul of this country, if not civilization itself.  We certainly are fighting for the babies being slaughtered by the thousands everyday in this country.  Whether or not these seems like "extreme" statements, I defy any one of you to dispute the factual accuracy of them.  Lose the "country-club, oh-so-genteel" veneer and realize the stakes involved here.  If there is one thing you'd better learn from the Tea Party Movement, it's that the votes and support of conservatives can no longer be taken for granted; they must be earned.  With this most irresponsible statement of John Kyl's, you have done much to alienate true conservatives.  You'd better wake up and do your utmost to fight the Kagan nomination.  We won't forget this November.

Republicans Need to Clean House!

They need to start at the top - the very top.  A month or two ago, I blogged about the strip club jaunts being financed by the RNC.  Now it seems that Michael Steele thinks that being homosexual is on the same par as being black.  Now we read from Americans for Truth About Homosexuality that Steele will not meet with representatives from Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays.  Why not?  Of what is he afraid?

The upper eschelons of the Republican Party had damned well better realize that conservatives, particularly Christian pro-life and pro-family conservatives, can no longer be taken for granted.  Have they not been paying attention to the Tea Party movement?
