Malta - Lastest Skirmish In The War Against Truth

Two weeks ago I wondered aloud about the dictatorial streak that was being displayed as he began his meddling in the internal affairs of the Knights of Malta.  I had proposed earlier that he was emulating Juan Peron, the infamous dictator who ruled his own native Argentina with an iron fist.  It is now becoming evident that what was a minor "streak" is evolving into a full-blown modus operandi.  No one who is watching his growing encroachment into the governance of the Knights of Malta can pretend otherwise.

The Knights' Grand Master, Fra Matthew Festing, was compelled to resign his position (a life-time appointment, by the way) by Pope Francis.  Recall that the Festing presided over the ouster of Grand Chancellor, Albrecht von Boeselager when the latter was implicated in a scheme to use the KofM's charitable arm to distribute condoms.  The Lepanto Institute, headed by Michael Hichborn, produced evidence pointing to Boeselager's guilt.  Apparently the latter has friends in high Vatican places.   Because Festing resisted the pope's arm-twisting and attempts to meddle in the internal governance of a sovereign state, he was ousted and now some "delegate" will be at the KofM's helm.  The Vatican took umbrage that Boeselager's dismissal occurred without "dialogue", but then seems to have given the heave-ho to Festing without "dialogue"; go figure!

But the sordid tale gets worse.  After Festing was forced to resign, Boeselager was reinstated into his old position.  So the Catholic official who upheld the teachings of the Church was kicked to the curb by Pope Francis while the dissident enabler of anti-life activities was affirmed in his sin.  Life Site News also touched on this travesty.  Read the comments.  One reader asked a very astute question in reaction: "No truth anymore?"  To me, the question isn't merely rhetorical; rather it gets to the heart of a lot of the ills with this papacy.

Yesterday I wrote how Pope Francis obscured the concept of objective truth.  I believe that is a key theme to so much of his mischief, whether or not it is deliberate on his part.  He seems intent on denying the existence of objective truth.  Witness how he mocks Catholics who are faithful to the Church's timeless teachings as "rigid", "neo-palegian", etc.  With Amoralis Lamentia, we see the none-too-subtle exaltation of subjective "conscience" over the objective truths of God's revealed moral teachings.  Truth is timeless and eternal.  It is immutable.  But those who revel in sin wish to deny that, for truth demands accountability.  Eliminate truth, they reason, so that accountability is likewise quashed.  I link now to a post written by Billy Graham three years ago that touches on the topic of truth versus lie, good versus evil.

That is why five years ago Father Guarnizo was ejected from my parish.  He stood for truth against the politically correct gay agenda and the ever-pandering DC chancery.  That is why the pope continues his efforts to marginalize Cardinal Burke (and the other faithful prelates).  That is why Fra Festing was ejected from his leadership role, in favor of the unfaithful Boeselager.  Rorate Caeli's commentary raises the question of whether or not the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI was obtained in a similar manner.  That is a valid question.

We'll see more instances of truth being rejected for oh-so-enticing lies.  We need to keep praying, with Rosaries in hand.  We need to keep speaking out.

San Bernardino Shootings: Will The Vatican Finally Wake Up?

First, I extend my prayers to the victims of yesterday's mass shootings in San Bernardino yesterday. Regrettably, there are those who would accuse me of "microagression" by the mere suggestion of prayers for others: more on that in a moment.

When I heard the accounts of how the assailants did their deed, it seemed quite obvious to me that this was a jihadist action, fueled by Islam.  Some had bandied about the idea of someone getting their nose knocked out of joint at the conference and then shooting up the place.  Common sense would have shown that to be impossible.  The shooters were clad in body armor.  They had multiple weapons on them, including explosive devices.  They carried out the shootings in a manner indicative of some military training.  Their entry and exit to and from the building was obviously well-planned (although their planning for the aftermath seems to have gone awry).

Now we are hearing confirmations that the dead man and woman were husband and wife, and radical jihadists.  They had been in communication with groups that are on the FBI watch list.  As this young lady says on The Blaze, "if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it IS a duck"!  Isn't it odd that last week so many of the lame-brain-main-stream media, along with their Democrat/progressive employers, were falling all over themselves to portray Richard Dear as "just another pro-life right-wing nut job" with no evidence whatsoever, but in the face of overwhelming evidence, they can't bring themselves to acknowledge yesterday's shooting to be an act of muslim terrorism?  ISIS does - gleefully of course.  In fact, they created a hashtag #America_burning to celebrate the slaughter.  Now see this from Breitbart how this shooting refutes so many progressive talking points.

But wait!  It gets even more ridiculous as the progressives scurry for some way to use this tragedy to justify their anti-Christian bigotry.  Take a look at the latest screed plastered all over the front page Of the New York Daily News.  Let me say this right off the bat to the creators of this journalistic pig slop.  There is a reason why God "isn't fixing this".  It's really quite simple and the blame for this lies squarely on the shoulders of those who mock Him and pillory His followers.  For decades now, progressives such as the Daily News leadership have done all they could to expunge Christianity from public life in the United States.  They have banned public prayer from schools and other public gatherings.  They have removed placards with the Ten Commandments from public court houses.  They have crammed sodomy down the throats of those who want to obey God in their commercial affairs.  They have - and are - murdering millions of babies, willed into being by God, via abortion and contraception.  The picture of the Daily News shows not only mockery of those who invoke God, but unbridled hatred of God Himself.  When God is so widely rejected, He will withdraw and let mankind experience the logical consequences of the rejection of His providence - a providence that includes His moral precepts.  This is not rocket science!

NOT a "revolution of tenderness"!
We need a real national, world-wide conversion to God and to His Church.  Several days ago, the Pope called for a "revolution of tenderness".  No - a thousand times no!  The last thing the world needs is for Catholic clergy to carry on like a bunch of whiny, metrosexual wussies who yammer on about "tenderness" while the world careens towards hell in a handbasket.  We need our prelates to conduct themselves like real men, such as St. John the Baptist and the Apostles and other martyrs who boldly proclaimed the truth, no matter who got their "poor widdle feel-bads" knocked out of joint.  By the way - if the phrase "revolution of tenderness" sounds sickeningly familiar, it's because that is part of the title of a book written by dissident bishop Cardinal Kasper; see my earlier post for detail on that.

So will the pope continue to rail against "fundamentalist Catholics" (in this video, the pope sounds like he's of the same mind as the Daily News) or will he finally realize he is the Vicar of Christ and get back to the basics of the Catholic faith himself?  Perhaps he'll ditch Kasper, Maradiaga, Wuerl and listen to prelates like:
Let us pray (despite what the Daily News says).

The Truth Will Divide. Grow A Spine And Get Used To It.

I'm beginning to think that when misguided individuals in the pro-life camp want to "seek unity" of those of different opinion, what they really want is to be liked by them - and that's it!  I don't know who said this, but he's right: "It's better to be divided over the truth than to be united in a lie".  That's because real, authentic unity must be founded on pure, objective truth; else, that pseudo-unity will collapse as the lie collapses.

Who Says Blogging Has No Impact?

Sometimes the biggest indicators we have of the fruit of our labors are the snit-fits in which the liberal, progressive types engage because we dare call them what they are.  Read this piece by Rachel Zoll of the Associated Press.  According to her, we're on a mission to "purge dissenters".  Well, not quite!  We're simply callin a spade a spade, so that the truth can be made known.

The fact is that we cannot change the truth.  It is given to us by Jesus Christ, who is Himself the Way, Truth and the Life.  He mediates this truth and His grace through the Catholic Church.  No one can change it or tweek it into something to his/her own liking.  We simply seek to cut through the politcially-correct smoke and mirrors that humanists, progressives, socialists, etc use to delude as many as they can.

I'm glad to see a piece like this.  There are only two real reactions to a proper presentation of the truth - accpetance or rejection.  Neutrality is not an option.  Some obviously don't like the truth.  In that case, all we can do is pray - and keep proclaiming it.

Catholic Church Entrusted With The Full Truth

I cannot say it better than this Real Catholic Vortex installment.  (Click here if you can't see embedded video)

I also want to highlight an address given by Archbishop Chaput of Denver on August 24th.  It is entitled, "Living within the truth: Religious liberty and Catholic mission in the new order of the world".  I urge all to read it in its entirety.

I'll quote a few salient points.  The archbishop makes a very important distinction.  "First, “freedom of worship” is not at all the same thing as “freedom of religion.” Religious freedom includes the right to preach, teach, assemble, organize, and to engage society and its issues publicly, both as individuals and joined together as communities of faith. This is the classic understanding of a citizen’s right to the “free exercise” of his or her religion in the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. It’s also clearly implied in Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In contrast, freedom of worship is a much smaller and more restrictive idea."  Now how often lately have we been hearing the oligarchy in DC celebrate "freedom of worship"?  Ladies and gentlemen, that is not a mere "difference of terms".  They know full well what they're doing.  For all their egregious faults, most of them are lawyers who understand the importance of language and who will go to great lengths to manipulate it to serve their progressive world views.

Again.. "Today’s secularizers have learned from the past. They are more adroit in their bigotry; more elegant in their public relations; more intelligent in their work to exclude the Church and individual believers from influencing the moral life of society. Over the next several decades, Christianity will become a faith that can speak in the public square less and less freely. A society where faith is prevented from vigorous public expression is a society that has fashioned the state into an idol. And when the state becomes an idol, men and women become the sacrificial offering."  He's right.  The Messiah Most Miserable and his Adoring Minions are acting to restrict all our rights that are guaranteed under the First Amendment (and the rest of the Bill of Rights, too, for that matter).  This is clearly a case of "use it or lose it".  We must speak out and bring our beliefs to the public square and yes, into the voting booths with us this November and in all subsequent elections.

Errors of Liberalism and Progressivism

The underlying philosophies of liberals and progressives, according to Michael Voris, is that man's problems can be solved by man alone.  They refuse to admit that man's problems originate in man's fallen human nature, fallen through Original Sin.  Of course, they also try to erase God from the equation.  We find this also in humanism; the Humanist Manifesto (in all its versions) is quite a study into their mental paradigms.  We also see this type of erroneous mentality in progressives within the Church.  They hold that the Church's primary mission is to solve man's problems - or what they perceive man's problems to be.  Hence we see the money in the USCCB being waylaid to all sorts of anti-life organizations in the name of "socal justice".

We can also thank them for presenting to Catholics such horse manure as the "lenten carbon fast".  Notice as you read that thing that there is no reference to eternity - no mention of heaven or hell, no mention of our need to secure eternal salvation, which has always been an authentic goal of Lent.
