Serious Clean-Up Needed At Baltimore's Catholic Review Diocesan Rag

Several years ago I leafletted cars of the attendees at one of these "Social Ministry Convocation" in Baltimore, knowing that they were smooching up to the gay agenda.  Indeed, as I was leafletting, I couldn't help but notice all the sodomy-affirming bumper strips on the cars. 

This past March, they did so again.  It's no surprise since the Catholic Campaign for Human Development seems to be spearheading these things.  But please look closely at that link.  Yes, it is the Baltimore Catholic Review to which I'm linking.  This rag is the official newspaper of the Archdiocese of Baltimore.  This is from their March 16th edition, advertising for this gathering that was to occur on March 26.  

The schedule says quite blatantly that one of the "workshops" is "Dreaming of a Church That Is Inclusive and Welcoming of LGBTQ+ Catholics".  Because I see no sign of calling to repentance those who are engaging in homosexual acts and/or making a monstrosity out of marriage, I could just as well reword that title to read "Dreaming of a Church That Coddles Sexual Perversion and Ushers LGBTQ+ Catholics Straight to Hell".

I might have expected such an announcement from New Ways Ministry or the Washington Blade, but not from an official publication of a Catholic archdiocese.  Is there any kind of archdiocesan oversight for the Review?  Or are archdiocesan officials complicit in the promotion of sodomy?

By the way - I believe the CCHD collection for Baltimore will be in November.  Here you have yet another reason to utterly boycott that collection.

Attention, Archdiocese Of Washington Catholics! CCHD Collection This Weekend

This weekend's second collection is for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development.  As it has been amply demonstrated time and again that monies donated in this collection will serve only to undermine the Faith, we urge you to boycott this collection!  Not one penny of Catholic money towards communism, pro-abortion groups, gay and transgender activism, etc.  There are plenty of truly worthy charities where your donations will be properly utilized.

Please spread the word!

CCHD = Catholics Colluding with Homosexual Deviants

What else would you call this?  I'm talking about the (drum roll, please!) "41st Annual Social Minstry Convocation".  It will happen Saturday, Feb 29, at Mercy High School in Baltimore MD. 

Take a visual stroll through this flyer.  It's chock-full of the usual "social justice" dribble: environmentalism, poverty, immigration, etc, with one striking addition.  Item 9 touts a workshop entitled "Why Our Parishes Need LGTBQ+ Ministries" - for safe places and all that!  You notice there's no talk of assisting these people out of their sinful lifestyles.  Given what we've seen of St. Ignatius and their group, we could safely surmise that these "ministries" aren't much more than dating services for deviants.  In other words, these "ministries" are about the sordid business of cooperating with mortal sin.  Is that what they mean by "social ministry"?

Now go to the very last page, the registration section.  To whom does one make their check to attend this gab-fest?  Why, to CCHD/Archdiocese of Baltimore!  So the Archdiocese of Baltimore is actually putting on this claptrap?  Well, let's look at their own webpage versus the flyer, which was found on St Matthew's site.  Shrewdly they did not post that flyer on their own site, but they do tout this "convocation".   Now look at the subpage for the awards presented.  You see that the same awards mentioned are similar to those in the flyer.  Despite their attempts to be discreet about their pro-gay shilling, Baltimore's CCHD has been caught with its hand in the cookie jar, so to speak.

So can one imagine CCHD facilitating sinful conduct?  Would they do it for any other destructive lifestyle choices, like usage of "recreational" drugs?  Well, yes.  Nationwide, they have given grants to marijuana farms and funded needle-exchange programs. 

As if we needed it, here is yet another reason to boycott the next CCHD collection.  For Baltimore, that will happen in November.  If you need additional reasons to boycott the collection, I'm sure some will sprout up between now and November.

Say #no2CCHD On Nov 23rd And 24th

Last week's abysmal mess of a "bishops' meeting" in Baltimore should have given you ample reason to boycott any national collection by the USCCB.  In fact, reasons to boycott the CCHD collection have always proliferated.  Yet now even more scandal is brought to light.

In the clip below, Michael Hichborn of Lepanto Institute reveals his latest findings regarding abuse of Catholic donations.  You will notice towards the end that he admits the possibility that the bishops aren't merely lovable bumpkins who are naive regarding the usage of the CCHD money.  Many of them are in fact in cahoots with the leftists who want to tear down the Faith and western civilization.  I have seen it too often in the Archdiocese of Washington.  As a sidewalk counselor in this area, I now have reason to believe that the chancery has been working to undermine our efforts on the sidewalks over the years; consider who the prelates have been and the myriad of scandals surrounding them.  But I digress.

This is a long clip but well worth your time in watching it.  Around the 1:15:00 mark, Hichborn and Marshall discuss ways in which we can take action - and yes, they involve leaving our comfort zones.

Most dioceses will have their collections this coming weekend.  This collection should be boycotted completely.  As part of acting proactively, I'd suggest going to this post and printing off the envelope stuffer at the bottom.  Sign it and put that in your envelope in lieu of money.  Here are other posts to read.  This report goes more into the sordid origins of the CCHD.

ADW! Boycott CCHD THIS WEEK END

This evening I did something that I hardly ever do; I went to a Saturday evening Mass.  Normally I go on Sunday because that day is the Lord's Day.  However, I went because Archbishop Gregory was going to celebrate that Mass.  And he did - more on that later.

As I was going into Mass, I saw the CCHD collection envelopes in a bin for usage.  I grabbed one and had time to jot a note to explain why I won't give to "Catholic Cash Helping Demons".  I signed my note, put it in the envelope and dropped it in the second collection basket.  Read this little compendium for more reasons why not one penny should be forked over to that bunch.

There was a respectable number of people at that Mass, but it was by no means crowded.  After Mass I greeted him and said that I was looking forward to having some of the current mess cleaned up.  He replied "I'll try" then turned away. Clearly I brought up an unpleasant topic, but it was necessary.  I believe that he will be showing up at many archdiocesan parishes.  I hope many others join me in letting him know that we will not rest until the rot is cleaned out of the chancery.  This excellent article by Christopher Manion will explain why I'm not optimistic that Gregory will join us but rather will have some 'splainin' of his own to do.

Involuntary Hiatus

No, this blog is not abandoned.  Early last week I suffered a medical emergency that necessitated major surgery and a week in hospital.  I'm recuperating now and hope to be back to regular blogging once I'm back up to speed.

I see that in the meantime quite a bit has unfolded, mainly the none-too-surprising results of the "youth sin-nod". Many have reported on that already and I suggest you plug into them.  From Lepanto we do see that the CCHD continues to funnel Catholic dollars into organizations that foster mortal sins.  Please boycott those collections in a few weeks.

Meanwhile I appreciate prayers for a speedy recovery.

Time For A Ma$$ive Ma$$ive Cri$i$ In ADW Coffers!

The Knights of Columbus held their Supreme Convention in Baltimore a few days ago.  In attendance were Cardinal Wuerl and Father Thomas Rosica.  Rosica interviewed Wuerl, probably as part of his coverage for his "Salt and Light" thing.  You can put both their names in the search box at the top left to understand why this interview is a huge joke.  No one with two brain cells firing in syncopation could possibly take this seriously.  When Wuerl congratulates Rosica for his "fine work", did he have in mind Rosica's attempt to sue the blogger behind Vox Cantoris?

At 6.35 Wuerl glibly distorts the Fifth Commandment and the Church's Traditional support of the death penalty.  He says that (sit down!), the state's usage of armies and death penalty are exceptions to the Fifth Commandment.  No, Your Eminence!  The Fifth Commandment prohibits murder - that is, the deliberate killing of innocent human beings.  The usage of armies and the death penalty were - and are - never proscribed by the Fifth Commandment!  A few minutes later, he says, that "we don't have to do that anymore, we can put them in jail".  But wait a minute!  Pope Francis has also bad-mouthed life imprisonment, calling it "torture".  Here we have a prime example of the progressives collectively talking out of both sides of their mouths.

Did you catch, at 3:11, when Wuerl says "I don't think this is some massive, massive crisis".  He's speaking of the bishop sex abuse scandal.  Oh really, Your Eminence?  Try saying that to the men who have left the priesthood and even the Faith after they were abused and subsequently dismissed!  Try saying that to the parents of the shattered young men!

Well, what might he think is a "massive, massive crisis"?  Yes!  The shrinkage of archdiocesan bank accounts!  Perhaps if we give him that ma$$ive cri$i$, maybe then he and his ilk will understand that we are going to clean house!

Any parishioners of St John Neumann who are reading this, please boycott the CCHD collection this weekend.  For your envelopes, you may wish to use the stuffer at the bottom or make up your own note.  Let's give them a "ma$$ive, ma$$ive cri$i$" in their wallets!

DC Area Catholics, Get Ready To Take Action This Weekend!

Catholics of the Archdiocese of Washington, it is absolutely incumbent upon each and every one of us - no exceptions - to boycott the second collection this weekend!  It is the annual collection for that snake-in-the-grass organization known as the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (and don't let their cute name mutation deceive you).  The CCHD is evil in and of itself, but now we have additional reason to withhold our money.  You have seen this week the reasons why our dioceses must feel our "power of the purse" for their wanton diversion of funds to pay off the settlements for our pervert prelates.  We will not drop one penny in the diocesan coffers until they repent of facilitating McCarrick's disgraceful conduct.  Cardinal Wuerl, present archbishop of Washington, has been implicated in multiple coverups - not only of McCarrick but quite a few pervert priests during his time in Pittsburgh.  This chancery needs to be starved until all filth is purged from it.

Last Sunday I posted an envelope stuffer that you can put in your CCHD envelope; drop that in the basket instead of money.  It is important that the clergy know exactly why their collection intake is less than what they expected.  With this flyer (or your own note), you'll be exercising the Spiritual Works of Mercy such as: rebuking the sinner, educating the ignorant.

I'm now posting yesterday's episode of the World Over.  The discussion revolves around the bishop sex abuse scandal AND the pope's attempt to mutate Church teaching on the death penalty.  Some have been erroneously claiming that this teaching change is meant to divert our attention from the bishop sex scandal.  Maybe - or maybe it's the other way around.  Perhaps the bishop abuse thing was allowed to break to provide cover for this attempt to undermine the understanding that Church teaching is immutable because God, the source of that teaching, is Himself immutable.  Interestingly enough, even gay activists understand the implications of this dangerous precedent that the pope is attempting to establish.  After all, if Church teaching on the death penalty can change, why not other teachings - for example, teachings on homosexuality?  From their evil perspective, they understand it, as evidenced by this New Ways article.

A Suggested Plan Of Action To Cripple The Gay Apparatus In The US Church

In light of the significant development in the McCarrick situation yesterday, that is, his ouster from the College of Cardinals and subsequent taking up of a life of secluded prayer and penance, I would have expected some sort of statement from the DC chancery to be read at Mass, as one was when he was first ordered to cease public ministry.  Instead we heard - nothing!  Zero-zip-nada!  Crickets!

How disingenuous!  Does the chancery really take faithful Catholics to be naive simpletons?  I've no doubt that one big reason behind their silence is that they hope McCarrick's removal will satisfy us and that they no longer have to worry about the consequences of their aiding and abetting McCarrick throughout the years.  This is pure damage control.

For those of you who believe that the poor dears in the chancery simply didn't have enough time to craft a decent statement, may I present this open letter regarding the situation that was released by Bishop Michael Olson of the Diocese of Fort Worth (TX)?  In all honesty, I've had issues with Olson in the past few years as the Texas bishops seemed hell-bent on electing RINOs to offices as opposed to real pro-life people, but I appreciate his alacrity in addressing his congregation about this matter.  By contrast we see how disingenuous the DC chancery really is.

If the chancery thought their silence would cause our attention and resolve to dissipate, they are sorely mistaken.  We are NOT going to relax our vigilance and we will NOT cease our prayers and actions until the vile cabal that aided and abetted McCarrick throughout the years is dismantled and those members be forced to atone for their own sins in this matter.  Let's be clear that many of these are in the DC chancery, as well as the USCCB.

So what do we do?  First, we make sure we ourselves pray and remain in the state of grace.  Under no circumstances do we contemplate abandoning the Barque of Peter' that is the mortal sin of apostasy. But there are other actions we must take, and these actions are predicated on the understanding that these bishops only understand one language from us, and that language is money.

• We must cease contributing to any diocesan collections.  That includes the Cardinal's Appeal.  It means that we boycott the CCHD collection next week if we aren't already doing so.  We should be boycotting it anyway, for those monies are used to fund various anti-God leftwing organizations.  For those collection envelopes, my post from a few days ago had some suggested language.  Alternatively, you might want to use the envelope stuffer at the bottom.
• The Archdiocese of Washington skims 10% off the regular weekly collection at Mass.  Two collections are exempted from the assessment: Christmas and Easter.  Consider cessation of the weekly donations and instead put those funds into the Christmas and/or Easter collection.  While it's true that this might make for uneven cash flow, it will actually mean more money for the parish as they will keep 100% of it.  Recall that McCarrick abused seminarians at his beach house.  With what money was this beach house funded?  Our donation dollars! 
• For other localities, circumstances may vary, such as what collections are exempt, etc.  Please do your own research and act accordingly.

We must financially starve these behemoths that condone and even facilitate such horrid crimes.  As I've described above for the DC area, there are most likely ways to do so without detriment to decent parishes.  Let's get going.

Call To Action For Catholics Of The Archdiocese Of Washington

Unless one is deliberately oblivious and clueless they cannot help but notice the revelations about Cardinal McCarrick and his sexual abuse of young men.  Actually, most of us have known this "open secret" but now all pretenses of secrecy have been jettisoned.

Ann Barnhardt has some plausible theories regarding the archdiocese' current prelate.  Whatever else Wuerl might or might not be, he certainly was an enabler for McCarrick.  And no, we are not such dunces as to believe that Cardinal Wuerl (or J Tobin or Farrell) were innocently unaware of what was transpiring under their noses.

I link now to a LifeSiteNews article written by a psychiatrist who has dealt with clergy sex abuse.  Here are two paragraphs that caught my eye.

In my clinical experience, bishops or those on their staff who are sexual heretics attempt to laicize loyal priests who did not abuse minors or adults and whose psychological conflicts can be resolved.  They also support or generate false accusations of abuse against loyal priests whom they then try to laicize.  As with Cardinal McCarrick, other bishops are aware of their hostile, passive-aggressive activities against loyal priests and the Church. 

Loyal priests are often told by their pastors or pressured by their bishops through his staff not to preach on contraception, sexual morality, marriage, fornication, homosexuality or adultery. Those who do not remain silent on these subjects are often victims of false accusations. Tragically, a ‘critical mass’ of homosexually inclined clergy has tipped the balance and the clergy who are faithful on sexual ethics are in danger of being falsely accused.

This very accurately describes the treatment meted out to Father Guarnizo at my parish just over six years ago.  Prior to his encounter with the lesbian who tried to take Communion from him, he was preaching on the evils of homosexuality during the weekday Masses.  Several guilty noses were thrown out of joint and they were looking for the opportunity to take him down.  When the Post picked up on the situation with the lesbian (My!  Didn't that happen with all speed?), they removed his faculties with barely the pretense of any due process.  I've no doubt that they would have laicized him, if he weren't actually incardinated in another diocese.

I absolutely agree that all who enabled McCarrick over the years should immediately resign.  That might mean an empty DC chancery, but that really would be no great loss.

Michael Voris has issued a call to action.  Part of that entails the boycott of any and all diocesan collections.  Obviously that is doubly incumbent upon us who reside in McCarrick's home diocese.  Let us start by boycotting the CCHD collection that will occur during the weekend of Aug 4-5.  We shouldn't be contributing one penny to that Alinskyian cash cow anyway.  However, we have a way to send a message to the chancery.  Don't just throw your envelopes away.  Inside your envelope, place a note in it and drop that in the collection basket.  Here is some suggested language for the note.

"I will not contribute one red cent to a fund that funnels money to anti-God and anti-life organizations.  Furthermore, I will never contribute again to any diocesan collection unless Cardinal McCarrick and his enablers atone for their crimes against young men, nature, and the God whom they pledged to serve."

Please pass this on to your fellow Catholics, especially within the Archdiocese of Washington.

The Catholic Laity Need To Wake Up

That is a key theme found in an article called "The Catholic Church Is A Cesspool".  The title is true enough if by "Catholic Church" he means the institutional structure that is infested with perverts and their toads.  Among the actions he suggests is the withholding of donations to bishops' collection.  In the Archdiocese of Washington, that would mean the complete boycott of the "Communications and Human Development" (really the CCHD collection) that will happen during the weekend of August 4-5.  We in this archdiocese simply cannot give financial aid to Cardinal McCarrick and his henchmen any longer.

Randy Engel, who wrote "Rite Of Sodomy" many years ago, gave an analysis of the situation that was published in AKA Catholic.  In light of what she wrote, it makes sense how McCarrick and others were able to get away with their crimes (and resultant destruction of faith if not lives) of so many young men.  She, like I, believe that he will retire quietly and live out the rest of his earthly life in relative comfort.  She too believes that such will be enabled by the "short and faulty memory of American Catholics".  She got that right.  I live in the parish where six years ago Father Marcel Guarnizo was ousted because he obeyed Canon 915.  I wonder how many of my fellow parishioners even remember that (a few do, but not too many)?

The fact is that we laity are not mere "little people" who have no clout.  In addition to our own prayer (especially the Rosary), we must utilize our rights as laity.  We must speak out, and even speak in rebuke to these prelates, should we ever encounter them.  And of course we hold the "power of the purse".  Until these prelates come clean (and that might be never), we should never contribute one red penny to any bishop's or USCCB-affiliated collection.  Why should we finance their lawsuit settlements and their cushy "lives of secluded penance"?  Don't forget to advise your chanceries of your cessation of donations.  There are plenty of other worthy recipients of your donation dollars.

For residents in the Archdiocese of Washington, that is, McCarrick's home diocese, that would mean that we completely boycott the upcoming CCHD collection during the weekend of Aug 4-5.  Of course the CCHD was always unworthy of our donations, but now we have even more reason to starve to death that beast known as the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.

The abuse of young men by perverts in the clergy is nothing new.  In times past, though, the Church knew how to deal with it.  Consider these words of St. Basil the Great (as quoted by St. Peter Damian) regarding that topic:

"Any cleric or monk who seduces young men or boys, or who is apprehended in kissing or in any shameful situation, shall be publicly flogged and shall lose his clerical tonsure. Thus shorn, he shall be disgraced by spitting into his face, bound in iron chains, wasted by six months of close confinement, and for three days each week put on barley bread given him toward evening. Following this period, he shall spend a further six months living in a small segregated courtyard in the custody of a spiritual elder, kept busy with manual labor and prayer, subjugated to vigils and prayers, forced to walk at all times in the company of two spiritual brothers, never again allowed to associate with young men for purposes of improper conversation or advice,”

Wise words indeed.

CCHD Collection Today

My apologies!  With different things going on (some of them personal), I forgot completely about the attempted in-pew shakedown that occurred today in the Archdiocese of Washington.  Yes, it was the CCHD collection, in which the donation dollars of many Catholics are diverted to various and sundry anti-God, anti-life and progressive organizations.

Fortunately, I could see as the basket came my way that it was quite empty.  I fully hope that by now faithful Catholics are getting the word that their contributions to this organization actually harms the true mission of the Church, that is, the salvation of souls.

I also noticed that they dropped that silly schtick about calling it "Communications and Human Development Campaign" and were at least honest about calling it the collection for Catholic Campaign for Human Development.

Despite my memory lapse, I pray that this collection fizzled, for the sake of Holy Mother Church.  Most of the nation's CCHD collections will happen in November (original nationwide date).  Let's be sure to boycott those collections too.

Good News From Our Parish Times!!

On page 2 of the May issue (or page 3 from the online pdf) we read of the Catholic Communications Campaign that is scheduled for May 27-28.  At the end of the article, we are advised that additional information is available at the USCCB site - and so it is.

"So why is this news particularly good?", inquring minds might ask.  Because it is a way that Catholics can contribute towards communication efforts without any of these donations being diverted to the Catholic Campaign for Human Development.  For years now, I and many other faithful Catholic bloggers have been sounding the alarm about the CCHD being a front organization whose only function it is to divert Catholic dollars towards progressive anti-life and anti-God organizations.  This fact leapt into the public eye during the ACORN scandals - an organization to whom the CCHD granted millions of our dollars throughout the previous years.

We do notice one curious thing, though.  Even though the Communications efforts appear to have their own collection, the Communications name is still linked to the CCHD on the archdiocese's schedule for second collections.  The collection scheduled for August 5-6 is still called "Catholic Communications and Human Development".  So does the chancery think that Catholics have such short memories and attention spans that we'll forget in August that a collection for Catholic Communications was held less than three months earlier?  That this name and date change for the CCHD collection is a deliberate obfuscation is beyond doubt.

As August approaches, we'll have more information regarding the boycott of the CCHD collection in August.   Suffice it for now to say that any such boycott does not have to impact Catholic Communications.

First Sunday In Lent - Time To #sayno2crs - Boycott Operation Rice Bowl

Today and tomorrow mark the First Sunday of Lent 2017.  This is the weekend when the ubiquitous Catholic Relief Services rice bowls will sprout like kudzu in the lobbies of most Catholic parishes in the United States.  Last year many of us Catholic bloggers urged a boycott of this CRS collection.  When we do so, we always hope that the offending target of the boycott will heed the message of the boycott and take corrective measures to make themselves more worthy of Catholic donations.  Alas, our hopes are dashed this year as CRS has proven itself to be even more unworthy of Catholic dollars than they were last year.

So what have been the lowlights of the Catholic Relief Services since Lent of 2016?

• One of their vice presidents was found to be in a same-sex #mowwidge, that is, he was a flagrant pervert.  Only when the light was shown on this sin did CRS announce his resignation.
• Brushes off our discoveries of their moral failures as "attacks".
• Questionable influence of Caritas over CRS
• Two more sodomy promoters within its ranks

Such are the relatively current scandals of the CRS.  For some of their older scandals, see here, here, here (with some videos), here (w/more videos).  You can also put "crs" or "Catholic Relief Services" in the search box at the top left to see much more material.  The scandals abound.

Last year I suggested a way to do an effective boycott of the rice-bowl effort. I reiterate the suggestion below.

• Pick up one of those "rice bowls" from your church lobby and assemble it.
• At the bottom of the Lepanto article is a note that you can use to let CRS know why you'll not contribute.
• Place that note in your now-assembled "rice bowl".  I intend to sign mine, but that's optional.
• When your parish announces that it's time to return the rice bowls to church, please do so. Yours will have the note and no money.

So why are the scandals so numerous?  I suspect that CRS, like its cousin CCHD, was never founded to be truly conformable with the Catholic mission of saving souls.  Please participate in our boycott and urge your family and friends to do the same.  Feel free to post this blog post to your own sites.  CRS is a beast that needs to be starved to death.

USCCB = Underlings of Soros Conducting Communist Business

That does seem to be the order of business at the USCCB meeting that opened in Baltimore yesterday.  They opened their meeting by asking President-Elect Trump, in oh-so-thinly-veiled language, to adopt a policy of blanket amnesty to illegal immigrants.  This, of course, is right out of the progressive marching orders.  As pointed out in the anthology of previous posts, there is plenty of money to be had with regards to illegal immigration (hopefully Trump will shut off that cash spigot).  The bishops are doing the bidding of their puppet-masters; that's why they've put their bid for amnesty front and center.

When a sane, faithful Catholic thinks of issues for which the bishops might petition for governmental action, one thinks of intrinsic evils that pollute our culture.  These evils include:

• The wholes-scale murder of helpless babies, aka, abortion
• The growing threat of euthanasia
• The enshrinement of homosexual perversions as societal norms that no one may question
• The marginalization of Christians who live out their faith in their businesses

I don't know where the meeting is happening, just that it is in Baltimore.  Would someone who knows please advise via comments?  Perhaps someone in the vicinity can go and lodge a protest there.

One thing we can all do to send the USCCB a message is to boycott the CCHD collection this coming weekend.

CCHD = Cash for Chaos, Hatred and Disorder

We are all aware of the violence that has erupted in the wake of Trump's election as President of the United States.  One thing this illustrates is the results of poor education that has been allowed to go on for these past few decades.  It is poor by design.  John Dewey has rightfully been called the Father of Modern Education.  How many are aware that Dewey was a signer of the original Humanist Manefesto?

However, the violence in many cities (all of the cities being in states that Hillar carried, oddly enough) isn't just the work of spoiled little snowflakes pitching temper tantrums.  There is organization behind it as LifeSiteNews points out.

One of the organizations behind the mayhem is MoveOn.org, controlled by George Soros.  Soros' infiltration of progressive Catholic circles has been documented.  His organization, Faith in Public Life, several years ago attempted to refute an exposition of the CCHD done by Michael Hichborn.  Much has been written on this blog and others regarding the fact that monies collected by the CCHD were diverted to "community organizing" outfits that are anti-life, anti-God; many of these have been known to foment the kind of violence that has swept up the disgruntled Clinton supporters.

If you haven't done so yet, please watch the video "A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing".  It's long, but well worth the investment of time.  It tells the history of the invasion of progressives in the life of the Catholic Church in the US, focusing on the role of Saul Alinsky.  Furthermore, it details how Alinsky and his cronies in the Church created the Campaign for Human Development for the purpose of diverting Catholic donatons to progressive causes.  Later the word "Catholic" was put in front of the rest of the name.  That is to say that the entire purpose of CCHD was evil from its inception, as opposed to being once noble but only recently corrupted.

During the weekend of November 19-20, most dioeses in the United States will be devoting the second collections to the CCHD.  We must boycott this collection as we've done in previous years.  Many of us are tired from the election, but we must resist the temptation to "tune out and take a break".   The CCHD is a factor in the rot inside both the Church and the United States.  We must starve this beast known as CCHD.  With Trump's election, we've been given a reprieve by God, some more time to pray and work to establish the Culture of Life.  Let's not lose momentum but press ahead, starting by saying #no2cchd.

St John Neumann Parishioners! Boycott CCHD Collection This Weekend

As I said in my post last week, most parishes in the Archdiocese of Washington had their CCHD collection last weekend.  However, because it was the first Sunday of the weekend, last week we had the monthly collection for parish maintenance, postponing the CCHD collection to this weekend.

Just a reminder - the collection has been disguised as something called "Communications and Human Development".  The Archdiocese did that in addition to moving the collection from November to August.  Please don't drop one penny in that collection.  Instead, drop in that basket the note that is included in this post.  Say #no2cchd.  Please spread word of this in your email circles and on your social pages.  Thanks.

Pope Francis Wanted A Poor Church - Regrettably He's Attaining That

Last Wednesday I wrote a piece on the satanic pig slop that oozed from the Vatican entitled "The Meeting Point".  It is immoral and a slap in the face to parents everywhere.

A few days ago, two of my colleagues at the Catholic Media Coalition, Alice Grayson and Stephanie Block, wrote their own critique of this program.  It appears on the Spero Forum site and is entitled "The Poverty That Is The Vatican's New Sexual Education Program".   I encourage its study.  It points out (among other things) that with this program the Vatican just spit in the eye several of the previous pontiffs who upheld the role of the parents and decried sex ed in classroom settings.

The article calls this "Meeting Point" thing a poverty.  The authors are spot-on correct, and I believe they've discovered a word that is very descriptive of both this pontificate and the "social justice" crowd in general.

Just recall some of Pope Francis' comments during his pontificate so far.

• He said that the biggest problem young people face today is unemployment - not lack of teaching about Jesus and the Church, not unbridled and perverted sexuality, not a solid family life - but poverty.
• He has characterized many terrorist acts as stemming from economic pressures, refusing to acknowledge that Islam is a murderous and barbaric ideology.
• In the most recent "pope video", he didn't once mention the Name of Jesus, but engaged in glorification, if not idolization of sports.
• I'm sure there are others, but these are what come immediately to mind.

Today's Gospel reading was from Luke 12:32-48.  One line in that is "where your treasure is, there also will your heart be".  Take a look at the bullet points above in light of that passage.  Does  anyone think that our Church hierarchy is focused upon saving souls from hell and helping them toward heaven?

Now consider the "social justice" crowd and their mindsets as displayed by the programs they emphasize.  Two of the biggest such culprits organizations in the US Church are Catholic Relief Services and Catholic Campaign for Human Development.  For more background information on them, you need only put their names in the search box at the top left on this blog to read many accounts (I do suggest that you look at the linked material as well).   The Lepanto Institute has done a lot of research as well; please look at their site.

Both these organizations (CRS and CCHD), under the direct control of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, disregard the central mission of the Church for ancillary matters.  Jesus Christ founded the Church to save souls from hell and to give them the means to obtain eternal salvation.  That's it.  Any other concerns such as meeting physical needs, good though they may be in and of themselves, must be subordinate to that main God-given mission - not vice versa!.  Else they inflict upon the Church a deadly spiritual poverty in their mistaken pursuit of eliminating temporal poverty.  When Judas complained to Jesus about the woman's "waste" when she anointed His feet with oil, Jesus reminded him that "the poor you'll have with you always" as He upheld the woman and her worship of Jesus.  As an aside, the Servant of God Archbishop Fulton Sheen once quipped that Judas was the "patron saint of social justice".

Judas' example is being emulated.  When CRS officials are caught with facebook pages stating "I stand with Planned Parenthood", Judas is being emulated.  When Ralph McCloud, who worked for Wendy "Abortion Barbie" Davis' reelection campaign, is still retained as CCHD's director, Judas is being emulated.  I could go on and on but don't want this post to get too long.  The point is that these outfits, while ostensibly existing to eliminate temporal poverty, are depriving souls of what they need for eternal salvation and are actually impeding their access to these graces.  In other words, they are deliberately foisting upon Catholics spiritual poverty - the kind that can starve souls to damnation.  Pope Francis said in the beginning of his pontificate, "I want a poor church".  Well, he got it alright: with his dopey plane interviews, his decimation of the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate, with his mockery of Catholics offering him spiritual bouquets, etc, he has helped cripple the Church's mission of saving souls.

At any rate, these beasts (CRS and CCHD) need to be starved of Catholic cash.  Many parishes in the Archdiocese of Washington had their second collections today taken on behalf of what they call "Communications and Human Development".  That's simply a disguise for the CCHD.  At least one parish, St. John Neumann in Gaithersburg, will have theirs' next weekend.  I urge them to boycott this collection.  See yesterday's post for more details.

Most dioceses will have their CCHD collections in November.  I'll be putting out boycott reminders until then.

This Weekend!! Boycott CCHD Collection

Most dioceses still retain the old second collection schedule whereby the second collection for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development occurs in November.  A few years ago, as calls for boycotts resulted from the CCHD scandals unearthed by faithful Catholics, a few dioceses tried various tricks to sidestep boycott efforts.   One of these is my own diocese, the Archdiocese of Washington (DC).

They not only moved that second collection to August, they decided to combine it with the collection for the Catholic Communications office.  Thus not only did they reschedule it, they renamed it - ostensibly to recognize the other organization.  So now we have the "Catholic Communications and Human Deveopment" collection.

If you go to this page for the Archdiocese of Washington second collection schedule, please click on the link entitled "2016 second collection schedule", you'll notice that for most parishes, the CCHD collection will occur this coming weekend - that is, today and tomorrow.  I said "most parishes" for a reason.  My parish, according to its bulletin from last week (go here and click on the 7/31 bulletin and go to page 6) you'll see the CCHD collection scheduled for the following weekend.

I've written copiously about the many problems of CCHD, including its extremely inauspicious origins.  I needn't rehash all that here but now link to an anthology for your information.  I will highlight one of those posts for in it is a flyer that you can print and put in the CCHD envelope in lieu of money.

Please do not give any money to CCHD.  It's time to starve this beast once and for all.  Say #no2cchd.  Please spread this word on email and your social sites.

Much has already been written about the harm that is done by the organizations that are funded by the Catholic Campaign for Human Development.  Lepanto Institute has gone into great depth in revealing how its origins are linked with Communism.  There is no denying that the CCHD is inexorably jaded from its inception.  In my opinion, this is one reason why the CCHD cannot be reformed.  It should be scrapped.  In the meantime, please do not feed that beast this weekend.  Boycott the collection.

Instead of donating to the CCHD, I'd ask your support of Aden Hailu, a young lady about whom I wrote yesterday.  Why not direct your money to saving innocent life, in lieu of organizations that are fomenting grave evils?
