Palm Sunday - Cdl Dolan Disobeys Canon 915

Pro-abortion "katholyc" Joe Biden attended Palm Sunday Mass at St Patrick's Cathedral.  Cardinal Dolan was the main celebrant.  At Communion time Biden strode right up to receive - under the Cardinal's eye.  From the Vortex clip we hear that Cardinal Dolan gave Biden a "shout-out" from the altar.  I agree with Voris that the "shout-out" itself was a disgusting "kiss-up" to Biden simply because the latter is famous and well-connected.  An aside - Cardinal Dolan might do well to read Paul's letters to the first bishop named Timothy and to study closely the admonitions against favoritism.

A few weeks ago, I opined that the distribution of Communion to Biden at Pope Francis' first Mass was most likely no fault of the distributing priest as the latter probably didn't recognize Biden.  I pointed out that the real problem is "state-side" and it manifested itself at St Patrick's last Sunday.  The cardinal most certainly recognized Biden (the wrong way, given the shout-out).  He had absolutely no excuse for disobedience to Canon 915.  Then they went for coffee afterwards.  I would be pleasantly surprised to learn that the Cardinal heard Biden's confession at  that time - but it would be a surprise.  There was some chatter during the papal elections that Dolan might be a candidate; clearly God saved His Church from the disaster his election would have been.

We faithful Catholics must intercede and offer reparation - but we must also do more than that.  We cannot pray for a specific intention if we ourselves aren't prepared to be the answer to that prayer.  Are we, the laity, willing to act?  That might mean withholding donations (and letting recipients know why).  It might mean picketing or leafleting church parking lots.  It might mean directly confronting the offending minister and/or katholyc.  Are we willing to step out of our comfort zones?  Perhaps God is not calling you to that, but if He were, would you be willing to obey?

  1. I had an email from a friend of mine, a Father Edmondo Caruana, who works in the Vatican office that coordinates papal ceremonies and he said that the priests and deacons who were charged with distributing Holy Communion were instructed that they were not to refuse anyone Holy Communion at the Papal Mass on the Feast of Saint Joseph. He said that this is a normal procedure for such Papal Masses

  2. The notorious dignitaries who more than satisfied Canon 915, would have been known to those who organised the Mass and the state delegates. The scandal and profanation of Our Lord was both foreseeable (foreseen) and avoidable. There was no excuse in any such state reps being permitted to receive Our Lord it would be better to have no state delegates at the Papal inauguration than to allow such a terrible contempt for God to be manifested at it

  3. Well, don't expect any papal reprimand for Cardinal Dolan or Cardinal Wuerl. When you are a Cardinal you are obviously above the Law

  4. Get ready to see Michael Voris silenced

    1. I don't think that can happen. They did try, when his show was known as "Real Catholic.TV". They tried to go after him for his use of the word "Catholic" so he changed the name to "Church Militant". The laity have canonical rights, and we simply cannot (lest we too sin) allow ourselves to be disenfranchised of those rights.

  5. Trust me, they can and they will Just like Cardinal Mahony eventually got Mother Angelica pushed to the side, they will do the same and worse to Voris. They may not be able to take his broadcasts down but they have excmmunication and interdict to use against him and to make it clear that he speaks only for himself and not for the Church in any way. The battle over Catholic in Real Catholic TV was only a shot across the bow--they want this man gone and they will do it

    1. Mother Angelica was a vowed religious as opposed to a non-vowed lay person. If they're going to try excommunication you can bet there'd be a hoopla over that. I'm sure they want him gone, but I don't think they can do anything about it. For that matter they cannot do anything against bloggers such as Yours Truly.

  7. One of the things I thought was "funny" was when the dissident National Catholic Reporter chimed in to condemn Michael Voris for not being "Catholic"

  8. I think we the "people of God' (they are so fond of that term!) are going to have to take it into our hands and crowd out a known politician like Biden or Pelosi waltzing up to receive. I would personally make a scene, yell and speak out even if it were in the middle of Mass! That may sound un-Christian, or unkind- but under the circumstances who is standing up and protecting the Holy Eucharist from being disrespected? Not those who are supposed to handle and give communion, not our Priests, Bishops or Cardinals! Everyone in line near Joe Biden knew who he was, whoever gave him communion knew who he was. Apparently this was under the nose of Cardinal Dolan who knew who he was. If just one of us spoke out, cried out, I think Our Lord would feel better. He must be so disappointed in all those too afraid to stand up for Him. This is an easy situation...we are supposed to be ready to die rather than renounce Our Lord. Cardinals wear red for that very reason. My2cents
