After Roe, Opponents Are In Strange Places

I will suggest that you watch the following two clips.  The first is tonight's episode of Lepanto Institute's Anchor Team.  There are a few seemingly disparate items that do have a common theme.  In the first part, Michael Hichborn details the connection that exists between the Association of United States Catholic Priests and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.  The first is outright heretical and the other tries vainly to maintain a semblance of Catholic identity.

In the next segment, Hichborn elaborates on the damage done by the Vatican as it signed onto the Paris Climate Agreement.  Its effects will include the scarcity of food as costs to "go green" will grind the economy to a halt.  Given what one of the statements said on the now-destroyed Georgia Guidestones, I strongly suspect that to be the idea.

Another segment concerns the aftermath of the June 24th ruling and how to strategize the next steps in the fight against abortion.  Hichborn made reference to a LifeSite news interview with the Thomas More Society.  Here is the article, and embedded in that is the second clip.

The common thread in all these that I perceive is that while we have turned a corner with Roe's demise, we still have a struggle ahead of us, with many in power arrayed against us.  Sadly, among our opponents are those wearing miters and even white vestments.  We must continue to pray our Rosaries and beseech God's mercy.

One Less Waste Of Catholic Dollars

The USCCB announced yesterday that its propaganda puppet news dissemination arm, the Catholic News Service, will cease operations at the end of 2022.  USCCB Publishing will also fizzle out at that time.

Oh, my!  However will the local diocesan rags waste their newsprint?  Maybe they will actually have to do some real journalism and finally wake up to the colossal scandals that they've been encouraged to ignore?  I realize that is a far-fetched hope, but one can dream, no?

Now what will the USCCB do with the money saved?  Channel it to some other communist-front organization?  I wouldn't doubt it.

So Now The Revelry Starts

Right now I'm just talking of the disgusting behavior of Catholic clergy, as they slobber all over President Plugs and the Kamel.  First the USCCB released a statement, which for them was actually relatively decent.  While they slathered it on thick with their congratulations and enthusiasm about progressive issues, they at least acknowledged, albeit weakly, that Biden's support of baby-murder, gay #mowwidge and anti-Catholic bigotry "would advance moral evils.."

Weak as the  statement was, it was direct enough to knot the knickers of Cardinal Blaise Cupich, a favorite of both Pope Francis and the now-disgraced Theodore McCarrick.  He harrumphed about it all over Twitter.  Apparently the statement didn't reek of enough "collegiality" for him.  Too bad!  By way of background, I remind my readers that this same Cupich, while Bishop of Spokane, would not allow his priests to participate in the 40 Days for Life campaign.  He almost carries on like he's pro-abortion!

Then before the actual inauguration, there was the Mass at St Matthew's cathedral in northwest DC.  Besides Plugs and Kamel and their spouses, several Congressional leaders were in attendance, at this invitation-only Mass.  Wanna bet that Plugs and Pope Pelosi marched right up to Holy Communion?  The homily was given by Fr Kevin O'Brien, president of Santa Clara University and a Jesuit (of course!).  You can read that drivel here.  By the way - take a gander at those pictures.  I don't see much "social distancing" happening!  Do you?

In related news, Biden has saddled us with the Paris Climate boondoggle and will strike the Mexico City policy and let illegal immigrants in.  This is just the first 24 hours!

The Newfangled Corona Vaccines - What's In It For The US Hierarchy?

Much of the world is waiting with bated breath for this much-touted "wonderous" vaccine.  They think that once they inject themselves with this miraculous substance, they will once again be freed from their de facto slave masters to live their lives.  They already can live their lives without the permission of the demagogues, if they just grow some backbones, but that's another discussion.

Pfiser and Moderna are the two leading manufacturers of these magic elixirs.  However, the tiny bodies of murdered babies have been used in the development of these things.  They claim that no fetal cells are actually in the vaccines.  True enough, but, BUT, fetal cells have been used in the testing of these potions.  However you slice it, the bodies of murdered children were used in the development of these things.

That doesn't seem to bother the nation's bishops in the least.  Read this latest disgrace to spew forth from the USCCB.  In a nutshell, they are saying, "yeah, we know that there was use of morally compromised cell lines, but the pandemic is so scary and evil that the remote cooperation with baby slaughter is actually an act of charity".  Pity that the aborted children don't seem to register a blip on their radar screens, but I don't think they have for quite some time.

Something, and I think it's lots of money, is inducing these bishops to poo-poo basic Catholic morality.  What they are doing is known as cooperating with sin, and such cooperation, especially when done knowingly and willingly, is a partaking in the guilt of that sin - in this case, the mortal sin of baby-murder.  The Church defines nine ways in which this cooperation can be effected; here is the list.  Take a look at numbers 1 and 7.  The bishops are counseling the faithful to participate in the ill-gotten fruits of the slaughter of babies.

Archbishop Vigano has some pointed words regarding the vaccine and other matters, pointing to their sinister underpinnings. As you read them, you may wish to bear the video from Friday Dec 18th in mind.  Judie Brown of American Life League also has words of wisdom and warning regarding these vaccines.

On many levels, the ingestion of these vaccines would be foolish and sinful.  The testing on these has been rather haphazard and immoral.  Why would one want to accept such a vaccine that has been hastily and immorally produced?  The disease against which it would allegedly protect has a fatality rate of less than 1%, and even those are found mostly in those with other co-morbidities.  Even more insidious is that the usage of them would justify the procurement of slaughtered babies to produce them.

At one time, I might have been inclined to chalk up the bishops' capitulation to these vaccines as simply a lack of moral courage.  While that may be present to some effect, I must conclude, after so many stunts these fellows have pulled, that they are active participants in the promulgation of the vaccine to help facilitate the new world order and perhaps to gain some financial reward.

Addendum:  Here is an enlightening post from my friend and colleague at Les Femmes.  Like her, I too have looked askance at the complete lack of mention of common-sense measures that we can take to increase our natural immunities.  Vitamin supplements, as she noted, are necessary and readily available.  A general proper diet and adequate sleep are also important.  Why, oh why, do we hear - ad infinitum et ad nauseum - about "masks" and "social distance", but nary a peep regarding these measures? Why does hydroxicloroquine remain a taboo topic of discussion?  Could it be precisely because they are cost-effective?

Election Dirt Being Uncovered, AP And USCCB Try To Help With Obfuscation

A statement from President Trump today:

“We all know why Joe Biden is rushing to falsely pose as the winner, and why his media allies are trying so hard to help him: they don’t want the truth to be exposed. The simple fact is this election is far from over. Joe Biden has not been certified as the winner of any states, let alone any of the highly contested states headed for mandatory recounts, or states where our campaign has valid and legitimate legal challenges that could determine the ultimate victor. In Pennsylvania, for example, our legal observers were not permitted meaningful access to watch the counting process. Legal votes decide who is president, not the news media.
“Beginning Monday, our campaign will start prosecuting our case in court to ensure election laws are fully upheld and the rightful winner is seated. The American People are entitled to an honest election: that means counting all legal ballots, and not counting any illegal ballots. This is the only way to ensure the public has full confidence in our election. It remains shocking that the Biden campaign refuses to agree with this basic principle and wants ballots counted even if they are fraudulent, manufactured, or cast by ineligible or deceased voters. Only a party engaged in wrongdoing would unlawfully keep observers out of the count room – and then fight in court to block their access.
“So what is Biden hiding? I will not rest until the American People have the honest vote count they deserve and that Democracy demands.”

Well, troubles abound in Michigan, one of the states that "mysteriously" switched from Trump to Biden.  First, we have the account of a ballot-count watcher, who witnessed two vehicles pull up and unload approximately 130,000 ballots.  They were all for Biden.  Every one of them was legitimately for Biden, and none for Trump?  No, that is a statistical impossiblility.  Go to that link and watch the video that the ballot-watcher took with her phone.

They also had, uh, "technical difficulties" with their voting machines.  The machines were run with software from Dominion Voting Systems.  It was discovered in Antrim County, and the votes had to be manually re-counted.  Thus, a county called for Biden, after a proper recount, went to Trump.

From Breitbart News:

We can expect to see similar scenarios throughout the country, particularly in swing states.

And just how, oh how, did Dominion Software come to be such a dominant feature in the tallying of US votes?  Why, from connections in high places, of course - and that includes connections to Nancy Pelosi herself.  But that's just a coincidence, right?  My, such a small world!  By the way - Detroit election officials were caught red-handed blocking the ballot-counting from legal observers; someone is obviously displeased he was caught on camera!

With all this coming to light, the progressives are rushing to declare Biden the victor, so any more irregularities discovered by Trump's team will look like he's tampering with the election (when he's merely exposing Democrat chicanery).  The AP today "called" the election for Biden, as did Fox News.  Many, including some easily duped conservatives, glommed onto these baseless pronouncements as though they were gospel-truth.  News flash!  The media does not have legal authority to make any official declarations regarding an election's outcome!  That should be obvious to someone with a basic knowledge of civics, but perhaps this is why public schools stopped teaching civics several decades ago.

Joining in this effort to do an "end-run" around the exposure of Democratic corruption is none other than the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.  They have imperiously declared that Biden has enough votes and that he is the legitimate president-elect.  Nothing could be further from the truth - well, I take that back.  The USCCB, in that same declaration, claim that Biden is a "practicing Catholic".  Since when is an unabashed cheerleader for baby-slaughter and sexual perversions a "practicing Catholic"?  Is it because that is how many of them "practice Catholicism"?  They posted this pronouncement on their facebook page and received many well-deserved rebukes and denunciations.  Remember that when they try their annual shakedown for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development.

In the meantime, pray your rosaries.  Storm heaven that God have mercy on this country and that the large-scale deceptions be exposed and the real winner soon declared.

Another Reasone Why the Underhanded Syndicate of Corrupt Communist Bishops Must Be Defunded

A few days ago, Donna Toliver Grimes, an official at the United States Conferenc of Catholic bishops, waxed lyrical about the selection of Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee for Vice President.  She thinks that Harris will benefit marginalized people.  Obviously Grimes is not thinking of the millions of babies slaughtered via abortion, that Harris loudly applauds.  Some good people are stating that Grimes should be fired for these remarks.   Be that ever so true, Grimes simply demonstrated that she fits right in with the progressives who skulk about the halls of the USCCB.

Let's take a look at Ms. Grimes history, shall we?  Open Secrets details her donations in 2008 to Obama's presidential campaign.  Eight years ago, she gave an interview to a Pax Christi publication, wherein she mentioned that she herself was on Pax Christi's national council, and in that capacity worked with Just Faith.  I have written about Pax Christi and Just Faith many times in the past.  Protestations of being "pro-life" aside, she has allied herself with progressive, anti-life forces for many years.  One might wonder how these facts escaped the scrutiny of the USCCB as they allowed her to take a position of influence.  I believe the USCCB is well aware of her proclivities, and far from finding them at odds with their standards, they believe her to be well-suited to their own mindsets and goals.  The powers-that-be in the USCCB embrace her dissidence because they themselves are dissidents.

If you are still contributing to your parishes, please make sure you are doing so in a way that no portion of your donations goes to the diocese.  Just as parishes are assessed by the dioceses, so too are the dioceses assessed by the USCCB.  They deserve not one red cent of your money.

Murder Of George Floyd

Last week, on Memorial Day in Minneapolis, four police officers used excessive force on Goerge Floyd, causing his death.  Floyd was on the ground.  At one point, three officers had their knees on him.  Derek Chauvin had his knee on Floyd's neck.  This lasted for almost 10 minutes.  The police relented only when paramedics showed up.  Floyd was later pronounced dead.

There is much video on the internet.  Given the reckless attitude evinced by Chauvin, as he stares into one of the cell phone cameras, hands in pockets while kneeling on Floyd's neck, no one can doubt that he knew what he was doing.  The four oficers were fired and Chauvin was arrested on charges of manslaughter and third-degree murder.  I do not know if Minnesota recognizes depraved-heart murder as second or third degree murder.

There is some talk of Floyd and Chauvin working for the same club last year, so it's quite possible that they knew each other.  Both Chauvin and Tou Thao (one of the other officers) have both been subjects of internal investigations through the years.   Right away we know now that while racism may have been a factor in this murder, that has not been definitively proven.  In the facts just stated, including the possibility of Chauvin and Floyd being acquainted from previous employment, we can surmise other motives as well.

However, the politically correct knee-jerk reaction is to cry "RACISM!" before there has been one hearing on this matter.  Sadly, but predictably, the USCCB, the Archdiocese of Washington and the Archdiocese of Baltimore have hopped on the politically correct bandwagon.  Here's another one from the USCCB.  Notice how both say they are distressed to see another video of a black man being killed?  Why did they feel it necessary to specify a black man?  Would they have been less distressed if the victim were white?  Here's a "case-in-point".  The meme is incorrect; the woman's name is Justine Damond.  She too was murdered by a Minneapolis cop.  I did not learn of her until I saw the picture on Facebook.  Why didn't I hear of her before?  Where was the public outcry for her?  When did the nation's bishops wax mournful over her?  For that matter, are the bishops going to pay this gentleman any attention?

Mayhem is happening all over the country, and not as spontaneously as some might like to pretend.  One rioter in fact is asking questions - such as, why are pallets of bricks mysteriously appearing at protest locations?  They do come in quite handy when looking for something to hurl through a shop or car window!  Might it be these folks?  One of their flyers was found in the streets during an outbreak in Baltimore.

If some of the rioters go to trial, they will need lawyers.  They need never fear, for two liberally-trained lawyers were operating right beside them, supplying the rioters with molotov cocktails and other explosives.  These lawyers are in custody now; whether or not they'll serve jail time remains to be seen.  They should at least be disbarred - however, there are the Clintons and Obamas so, oh never mind!

Tucker Carlson has stated that the mainstream meda are fanning the flames of this mob violence.  I regret that for the most part, so are the US bishops.  If you read that article about this "friends of democracy" bunch, you'll see talk of "friendly law enforcement" and other covert allies.  Many police departments are standing down; might they (or at least high officials) be in cahoots with the thugs?  President Trump said he would deploy troops and National Guards to do what local police can't (or won't) do, utilizing the Insurrection Act.

I will have more to say on the bishops in my next post, for Archbishop Gregory disgraced himself big time on June 2.

USCCB Political Videos Downplaying Abortion To Promote Seamless Garment And Undermine Trump

I post their series of videos below.  While the videos mention innocent unborn as needing protection, they don't say from what they need protection.  That is, of course, abortion, and the progressive politicians shilling for abortion.  Why?  Two reasons.
  1. Many of these politicians have been funnelling money towards the USCCB coffers.
  2. They know that many faithful Catholics will vote for Trump on account of his recent actions to stem abortion.  The USCCB is set on undermining him.  If they can downplay abortion in the minds of Catholics, they'll lessen the impetus to vote for Trump.
Along the lines of that second point, notice how the unborn is just one of a whole laundry list of issues, most of lesser importance and tending to justify a socialist government, ultimately leading to a one-world government.  LifeSiteNews and Church Militant have commentary, too.

As an aside, notice at the 5-minute mark the shameless plug for the many-times-disgraced Catholic Relief Services.  This video series, and the larger effort of the USCCB's is just another reason why we should cease all contributions.

Good News For Donors

Many good Catholics are in a moral quandry when it comes to donations.  On the one hand, their local parishes may be rather decent, but their diocese - not so much.  Moreover, we have recently learned that at their November meeting last month, the USCCB voted to increase the amount of money that they assess from the US dioceses.  Thus, not only might good Catholics see some of their money going to a lackluster diocese, but they would then see a portion of that be remitted to an absolutely corrupt USCCB.

For that reason, I was delighted to be informed that the Code of Canon Law allows donors to specify how their donations are to be used.  I am referring specifically to Canon 1300.  Accordingly, a friend suggested some language for a letter attached to such donations and I post it (with my own modifications) below:

Dear Father PASTOR,

Please note that we are donating (AMOUNT OF DONATION) to (NAME) parish and that all thid money must stay within the parish. Please respect our wish that no part of this donation is to be transferred to the (LOCAL DIOCESE) nor should it be included in the calculation of any diocesan assessment. We are happy to support your work because we have confidence that your leadership is faithful to the Catholic Church and her timeless teachings

(end sample latter)

In the Archdiocese of Washington, the suggested letter can be coupled with another strategy that I mentioned in July 2018.  The Christmas and Easter collections are (for the time being) exempt from the archdiocesan assessment.  Save all the money you would have donated throughout the year and then give it on one or both of those days.  Now I might suggest adding that letter to your contributions.

I can only think of one down-side to this strategy.  We are speaking of Canon law here, and as we've seen with Canon 915, the bishops' track record of obedience to canon law has been, uh, rather selective, shall we say.  However, if you're donating to an honorable pastor, I would hope the strategy proves sound.

USCCB Calls Evil What God Ordained As A Tool For Civil Order

Last week I posted how many leftists are putting their souls into jeopardy by calling evil what God has ordained as goods.  The USCCB continues down that slippery path.

Today Attorney General William Barr has announced that the US Department of Justice will resume the federal death penalty.  Right on cue the USCCB is pitching its hissy fit.  A telling phrase in the Catholic News Agency piece is this: "Catechism of the Catholic Church paragraph 2267 on the death penalty was updated in 2018 with a statement from Pope Francis, calling the death penalty “inadmissible because it is an attack on the inviolability and dignity of the person."

NEWS FLASH!  No one, not even a pope, can change Church teaching.  The pope is to safeguard the Deposit of Faith, not mutate it according to his whims and fancies.  Other popes throughout the centuries have upheld the legitimacy of the death penalty.  Pope John Paul II, in paragraph 56 of Evangelium Vitae, while making his personal disapproval known, also upheld the licity of the death penalty.

Any statement that claims that the death penalty is inherently evil is rank heresy.  It doesn't matter who utters it.

The USCCB Resenting Faithful Catholics

Today Michael Voris received a call from the Baltimore City Police Department.  Apparently the officer received from the USCCB a request for "help".  The bishops are slandering those faithful Catholics who will be participating in the Silence Stops Now prayer effort that will happen outside the bishops' semi-annual meeting.  They have accused those Catholics of plotting violence.  In their railing against faithful Catholics, they accuse them of adopting antifa-like tactics.  By the way - when did you last here any of these bishops denounce the violence carried out by the real antifa over these past few years?  Neither did I - but I digress.  The vortex is immediately below, but I also have more news of the US establishment wailing and gnashing their teeth at us.

An entire slew of officials from various Catholic "charitable" organizations are shocked - shocked! - that faithful Catholics are reluctant to give to them in light of the clergy sex abuse scandals.  Sr. Donna Markham, CEO of Catholic Charities, is "deeply concerned" about the donation drop-off.  I might suggest to her that she cease the efforts of Catholic Charities to help sneak into this country thousands of illegal immigrants.  I might suggest that local offices cease their needle exchange programs.  A reminder - Sr Donna was a supporter of the pro-abortion Obamacare.  Why on earth would any decent Catholic think that Catholic Charities is a worthy steward of Catholic donations?

In response to this problem (question - since this involves the shrinkage of donations, does this matter rise to the status of a "massive, massive crisis"?), these leaders have consulted with Alexia Kelly.  Now when have we heard that name before?  Yep!  She sounds like quite the expert, doesn't she?

Meanwhile, the Lepanto Institute revealed today yet another reason why the CCHD collections in a few weeks should be totally boycotted.

We havc more conclusive proof that they do listen to the language of money.  We need to speak it - namely by our withholding of it.  Let that cause them to quake in their boots.

Cdl Wuer's Stroke Of Genius - Or Whatever

In the wake of the scandals rocking the bishops and cardinals, Catholics in the US can now breathe a sigh of relief, as our intrepid prelates are on the job!  Why, just today Cardinal Wuerl called for a panel to investigate such allegations of bishops!  And just whom does Wuerl suggest should be members of this sterling panel?  Why, bishops, of course!  This panel would operate under the authority of (trumpets and drum rolls please), the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops!  Who else? What could possibly go right with such an arrangement?  /sarc

Seriously!  How stupid and naive does Wuerl think we are?  We haven't forgotten that his good buddy and immediate predecessor is the one whose stench set off our alarms.  Moreover, we also understand that Wuerl has his own troubling history from his days in Pittsburgh.  His suggestion is analogous to Frank James suggesting that he set watch over his brother Jesse.  So either Wuerl thinks we're idiots or he really doesn't take the matter seriously at all - or maybe both.

By the way..  Let's say that some similar panel were set up in Argentina.  Wanna bet how that good-old-boy outfit would address this one?

Please continue to withhold your donations from your chanceries.

Just Why Are The Dems Kvelling About The Kids Crossing The Borders?

I think the reasons for at least some of them are quite nefarious, with the others just following along like obedient little lap dogs.

In a nutshell, when border-crashers are caught by ICE and other security personnel entering our country illegally and with children, procedures may involve the separation of the children from the adults who are bringing them along.  Note that I did not automatically imply familial relationships for too often they don't exist.  The LA Times, no bastion of conservatism, has noted the problem.  Rather than reinvent the wheel, I'll post now the video of a press conference on the matter given by Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and continue my remarks below the video.

Note how she emphasized the concern for children who might well be being exploited (sexual and otherwise) by the adults who accompanied them.  This is not a new problem.  Two years ago, the Washington Post (hardly a conservative news outlet) noted that then-President Obama released thousands of these children to adults who were not vetted and who may have been sex traffickers.   Was this simply gross negligence on his part?  Maybe not!

I will now link to an article that seems unrelated, but may not be.  Inspector General Michael Horowitz, while investigating corruption at the Justice Departent and the FBI in relation to Hillary Clinton's email security violations, came across evidence that she may be involved in sex trafficking of children.

Might this be a good part of the reason why the libs are objecting to "parents" being separated from their "children" at the borders? Perhaps they know damned well that kids are being trafficked and they want the children to stay with their "handlers" lest the children elude their grasp.

The US bishops' gab-fest ended this weekend.  They spent most of the time whining about the President's enforcement of reasonable immigration laws.  Of course they did so at the behest of their Democrat puppet-masters and sugar-daddies.  They know on what side of their bread the butter appears: millions of federal dollars to "resettle immigrants).  Let's see if we hear of any more blather about "canonical penalties".  I wonder if the frivolous threat of "canonical penalties" is its own canonical offense.

Why Was Alfie Murdered Before His Second Birthday?

Last week I and others pondered aloud the very real probability that the British medical system, with the collusion of Britain's legal system and even the Roman Catholic hierarchy in that country, murdered Alfie Evans in cold blood.  They did the deed just before he attained his second birthday, which is today.  The timing of that is no coincidence.  They appeared in a hurry to have him die before he reached his second birthday, and there is a reason as explained here.

"Oh, it's just a tin-foil-hat crank conspiracy website!", one may poo-poo.  If you believe that, did you search the UK website for yourself?  They supplied the url, after all.  I did, and yes indeedy, if a claim is to be made for vaccine damage, it must be done after the patient is 2 years old.  The National Health Service, if it did cause damage to Alfie's brain with a reckless dosage of vaccines, had a vested interest in hastening his death.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is socialized medicine.  In ascribing to government the responsibility for medical care of its citizens, we would also be ceding to government the authority to make life-death decisions for those citizens.  Such a government would become a soul-less, monstrous behemoth.  That is the situation in the UK now.  That the bishops over there have become so compromised is clear indication that they have some sort of financial stake in the system.

We in the US aren't that far behind them.  Obamacare started us on that path, with the conniving assistance of the USCCB.  Had Hillary Clinton won the White House, I believe our fate in this regard would have been sealed.

Rome Life Forum On May 17-18

The Rome Life Forum was founded by LifeSiteNews and is now carried on by Voice of the Family.  Their meeting this year will focus on combating modernism within the Church.  Yes, modernism is found at all levels of the Church and has even emanated from Pope Francis himself.

If one is still inclined to pretend that modernism is no problem, please reflect upon the murder of Alfie Evans, sanctioned by most of the UK Catholic bishops.  Think of Katy Perry being invited by the Vatican to sing the praises of transcendental meditation.  I spoke a bit yesterday of "cooperation with mortal sin" being itself a mortal sin.  The Vatican provided a forum for the commission of mortal sin against the First Commandment.  Throw into the mix the sins of blasphemy and sacrilege and we can see that those who invited Perry and/or allowed her to pollute a Church event are guilty themselves of grave sins. That's modernism for you.

The prime mission of the Church, as defined by Jesus Christ Himself, is the salvation of souls.  That CURA conference had nothing to do with that, and even appears to have caused scandal to souls.  Likewise the prattlings of the the US bishops.  Jihad Watch tells us that they submitted a brief to the US Supreme Court claiming that President Trump's travel ban is "blatant religious discrimination".  We do well to remember that the US bishops have a vested financial interest in securing the largest immigrant population possible.

The Vortex that I'm going to post below details how many dioceses are experiencing the effects of all this modernism and loss of faith.  Many are engaged in silly marketing campaigns.  Perhaps they need to listen to Archbishop Sample's homily from the Pontifical High Mass this past Sunday at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.  They don't need cheap gimmicks.  All they need to do is to present the real Catholic faith.  Of course that entails that they believe the Faith and repent of their dalliances with modernism.  By the way - when I speak of "cheap gimmicks" I also refer to the regrettable tendency of clerics and religious orders to carry on like silly buffoons in a misguided attempt to "reach the youth where they are".  Again, young people, indeed all people, need to see the Faith lived out in all its splendor and dignity.

Let us pray for the success of the Rome Life Forum.  I look forward to posting the videos as they become available.

Call-In For Immigrant Control On February 26 Monday

A few days ago, the USCCB, lamenting that the Senate did not give more amnesty to "dreamers", announced a National Catholic Call-In Day to Protect Dreamers on Monday Feb 26.  In other words, Catholics are being asked to call their congress people to "protect dreamers".  Well, that's probably not all that the USCCB wants protected.   If the "dreamers" and other illegals continue to stream across the border, the bishops and Catholic Charities stand to receive lots and lots of Federal grant money.  Isn't it peculiar how they didn't mention that in their little press release?  Sshhh!  They don't want the sheeple to know lest they wake up and not make those phone calls to Congress!

Let's have a "call-in day" of our own!  Let's call Congress and tell them to get that wall built.  Tell them to strengthen the border-control personnel.  Tell them that when it comes to immigrant concerns, that the legitimate needs of citizens and legal immigrants take precedence.  We must call.  The progressives are very disciplined about taking these actions.  So too must we be.

Seamless Garbage Pollutes The March For Life

The progressives are working overtime to insinuate "seamless garment" poison into the pro-life movement.  For accuracy, I'll refer to it as "seamless garbage" for that is a more accurate descriptor.  It made its way even to the rally stage of the March for Life.  C-Span has video of the entire rally, with all the speakers.  At about the 5:40 mark, you can hear an Orthodox bishop incorrectly claim that immigration concerns and the death penalty are just as evil as is abortion.  Not to be outdone by the Orthodox, DC Cardinal Wuerl spouts essentially the same nonsense in his blog as he carries on about those without insurance, illegal aliens immigrants, etc.

One Peter Five has done research that corroborates the fact that the USCCB's motives behind their eagerness for refugees is not completely altruistic.  Nope!  The USCCB receives at least several hundreds of millions of dollars (if not billion) from the feds (ultimately from our tax dollars) to "resettle" the illegals.  We might assume that non-Catholics are receiving similar grants: hence the "seamless garbage" crowing by the Orthodox bishop at the March.  Over the years, the USCCB has shown itself to be particularly susceptible to the seductive scent of dollar bills.

The Lepanto Institute has uncovered an even more troubling lapse of morals on the part of the USCCB in favor of - you guessed it! - MONEY!  They are lobbying Congress to fund two organizations that funnel money to Planned Parenthood and other death-dealing organizations because they in turn receive money from them.  This USCCB letter sounds so lofty and noble, right?  The letter's language shows the infestation of seamless garbage as abortion is completely ignored while other issues are exalted in its place.

Yesterday LifeSiteNews published a piece by Doug Mainwaring detailing another facet of "seamless garbage" adulteration of the pro-life movement.  That is, gays are trying to align themselves with us.  While I think it laudable on one hand that they see the evil of baby-slaughter, they also attempt to justify their mortal sins of sexual perversion via their abortion opposition.  They fail - or refuse - to acknowledge that abortion and sodomy stem from the same rejection of God's plan for life, family, sexuality, marriage.  Doug made mention of Rosemary Geraghty.  I too warned about her in an earlier post.  She is on the board of the "seamless garbage" Rehumanize International.

We as Catholics must stand for God's plan for marriage, family, sexuality, life.  God has privileged us with the ability to procreate new life with His grace.  The devil hates us for that because by that privilege we help engender new people to potentially enjoy life with God in eternity.  Hence all direct attacks against that privilege must be given top priority and we must allow nothing - be that diversion ever so noble - to dilute our energies from establishing the Culture of Life.  The diabolical attacks are: contraception, abortion, euthanasia, abuse of embryos, attacks on marriage (including divorce), the furtherance of homosexual perversions.  Let's engage in a laser-like focus on these matters and leave the "seamless garbage" in the trash where it belongs.

The Shooting In Sutherland Springs TX And The Liberals' Blood Guilt

At least two dozen people, many children, were slaughtered by a madman as they attended their church services in Sutherland Springs, TX.  We pray for the repose of their souls and peace for their families and friends.  This isn't the first such shooting and regrettably it won't be the last.

Even more regrettable is the immediate politicizing of this tragedy by the left.  Their rants must be answered, lest we allow them once again to seize control of national conversations and debate.  Immediately the yap and yammer sounded anew for more gun control, vilifying the National Rifle Association and the GOP in the process.  I suspect now that more details have come to light, the left might soon have to shut their mouths in embarrassment.  Or maybe they won't, arrogant lemmings that many of them are.

The now-dead assailant, Devin Patrick Kelley, was in the Air Force, but was court-martialed for assaulting his baby step-son, fracturing his skull.  He also harrassed numerous ex-girlfriends.  The Air Force gave him a "dishonorable discharge". Obviously already-existing gun laws should have prevented him from obtaining firearms.  However, the Air Force did not communicate the convictions to the NICS database.  So now it must be asked that if the federal government (and the military is part and parcel of that) is so negligent about this facet of the law, why, oh why, would we think additional laws will help?

But the godless left continue to chant their talking points.  Chelsea Handler (whoever she is) didn't wait one hour after the reports broke to blame Republicans for the shooting.  In her warped view, a Republican decided to shoot up a church whose congregation most likely leaned Republican.  The evidence on that page seems to indicate that the shooter had leftward leanings; he was atheist.  Showing that they share Kelley's atheistic world view, Democrats displayed their atheistic depravity for all to see; one Democrat legislator walked out when a moment of silence for the victims was called.

Of course now there's kvelling for more gun control.  Some even opine that the National Rifle Association has some blood-guilt for the massacre.  BUT - the facts contradict this implausible theory.  I think we can thank the internet for announcing these facts, because the lamebrain-mainstream media would not have done so on their own.

The Texas Rangers gave a press conference regarding the sequence of events.  According to them, Kelley's rampage was cut short when a neighbor grabbed his own AR rifle and shot Kelley.  He then fled and the man took up the chase.  This is why the Second Amendment exists.  Sunday's death toll might have been much higher if an armed citizen had not been able to intervene.  But there are more details.

The citizen's name is Stephen Willeford and (liberals, please be seated and have smelling salts ready) he is a former NRA instructor and Christian to boot!  OK!  So an atheistic leftist, dishonorably discharged from the military shoots up a Christian church and is stopped by an armed Christian man.  Perhaps this is why Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton poo-poos the idea of more gun control and instead advocates for more armed law-abiding citizens.

Now I bet some of my readers are wondering what this has to do with Catholicism and being faithful to the Teachings of Christ.  Simply this.  I've no doubt that some leftist bishops are going to sniff about the "need" to confiscate weapons.  Should they do so, they'll be engaging in blatant deception, just as their democrat "sugar daddies" and "puppet masters" are doing.  Yesterday Ted Cruz revealed how Democrats filibustered legislation that he authored, legislation that would have prevented Kelley, an already-convicted felon, from buying guns.  That fact will be conveniently ignored as they seek to hinder our rights to self-defense - the same rights that allowed Stephen Willeford to stop Devin Patrick Kelley.  To the extent that they've already succeeded in some localities, it is they who have blood on their hands - and that includes the gun-control freaks who are to be found among the nation's bishops.

Here are two different takes on whether or not church attendees should be armed.  See here and here.  Under no circumstances should churches forbid legal carrying in their buildings.  In doing so, they are leaving their congregations vulnerable.

USCCB Official Expresses Concerns About This Pontificate And Is Fired From The USCCB As A Result

Yesterday a letter was released, written by Father Thomas Weinandy, OFM Cap, to Pope Francis.  It is similar in tone and content to the four cardinals' dubia, even though Father Weinandy has distanced himself from the dubia.  I link to the full text here, as posted on Crud's website.  Please note that it is a pdf; I'd advise that you save it to your own computers, lest it (ahem!) "disappears".

Father Weinandy is a former chief of staff for the USCCB's Committee on Doctrine and a current member of the Vatican's International Theological Commission.  He was a consultant to the former committee until today, when he was compelled to resign that position because of his letter.  So much for "dialogue" and "collegiality"!  Meanwhile, Father James Martin can blather on about "Jesus being challenged by the Canaanite woman" and how "Mary accused God of lying to her", and he's still allowed to prance about at will, spreading his bile everywhere he wants without the USCCB uttering so much as a peep in protest.  UPDATE:  Lepanto Institute reports that this same USCCB that fired Father Weinandy with all haste still retains a Planned Parenthood supporter on its payroll.  Please do not give to any USCCB-related collection.

In Father's third-to-last paragraph, he states that "many fear that if they speak their mind, they will be marginalized or worse".  Ironically, the actions of Cardinal De Nardo (and some of the questionable bishops cited by Father Weinandy) only serve to prove Father's point.  Am I surprised by this dismissal?  Not at all!  Given the gestapo-like conduct of the Vatican and their local henchmen, I would have been surprised (albeit pleasantly) if Father was not given the boot.  I'd be willing to bet that soon he'll no longer have a role to play in the Vatican's International Theological Commission.

I've been acquainted with Father for close to 30 years, going back to our time in the Mother of God Community.  In the mid 1990s, when the cult leaders of MOG were starting to lose their stranglehold on our minds, it was Father Weinandy's letter (and another letter by another priest) that helped many of us articulate some of our thoughts about the situation.  I pray that Father's latest letter will assist other Catholics in similarly seeing the light.

Support Of Illegal Immigration Is Inherently Sinful

If a parent steals something and gives it to his/her child, is the child penalized when he/she is compelled to return the stolen goods or make other reparation?  Common sense - and Catholic moral theology answer "no", for the child should never have come into the possession of the goods in the first place.  Let's add another dimension.  Say the child receives the contraband as a minor, then becomes aware of the theft when he reaches the age of majority.  Is he/she required to make restitution?  Again, the answer is yes, for he/she may not knowingly accept benefit from the commission of sin.  Should they do so, they themselves become guilty of cooperation with the sin of their parents.  I link now to a post that I created several months ago; therein is a video that explains the nine ways in which a person can become an accessory to the sin of another, thus incurring guilt for his own sin.  Bear all this in mind as you read the account below.

We all know that President Trump has decided to undo the patently unconstitutional stunt initiated by the Messiah Most Miserable known as DACA (Deferred Action for Child Arrivals).   Compare the screed spewed from the USCCB to the statements issued by both the White House and the Department of Homeland Security.  While those impacted are children of illegal immigrants, it is important to note that they are now adults as opposed to non-emancipated minors.  They are now responsible for their own lives.  If they haven't taken measures to correct their own immigration status, they have no one to blame for the consequences but themselves.

I became aware of this account of a "dreamer priest", Father Rey Pineda, through a facebook friend of mine.  As I read this account, I detected no trace of him trying to rectify his status.  He went to school in Georgia and then discerned a vocation; "he felt God was calling him to be a priest but his spiritual path was blocked.  He was a dreamer".  Excuse me, but isn't part of priestly preparation to remove moral impediments from one's life?  He knew he was here in disobedience to legitimate national laws: laws that have basis in Section 2241 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.  Now recall the video that I mentioned in the first paragraph, and count the ways that Father Pineda actively cooperates with the sin that his parents committed:
  • Consent - That is evident in the absence of any steps to correct his status.
  • Defense of evil done  No where does he express regret for the flouting of U.S. law.
  • Partaking as a "dreamer".  If his seminary formation was facilitated by the dream act, then his priestly formation would be an ironic act of cooperating with sin.  I hope that's not the case
Other ways that he might be cooperating with the sin of evading US immigration laws would be counsel, provocation, praise.  We cannot say "silence" is a chosen means of such cooperation, for he is quite strident in his crowing about his sin.

So his deportation would be a loss to his flock?  Really?  Who would really seek him out in the confessional, knowing he doesn't give a whit about legitimate civic law?  We Catholics are called to obedience to such laws and not only when convenient.  The sacrament itself would be efficacious since it doesn't depend on the worthiness of the minister, but his counsel might be suspect.

One troubling aspect about the hierarchy's embrace of progressive positions is that church authorities too often strike hands with politicians who foment the Culture of Death.  Father Pineda did precisely that by his partnering rabidly pro-abortion Dick Durbin.  Thanks to Pineda's own celebration of his sin, he lent to Durbin a credibility that the latter simply doesn't deserve.  By the way - this is the same Dick Durbin who questioned the Catholic faith of an Appeals Court Nominee.  Got that?  Durbin is very supportive of the Catholic faith of a potential puppet, but takes a dim view of the Catholic faith of a Trump nominee.  That's whom Pineda - this shill for illegal immigration - helped to legitimize.

Let's get back to DACA and illegal immigration in general.  If you haven't yet, please read the linked press releases of the USCCB, White House, and DHS.  If you noticed the USCCB waxing hysterical, you are quite correct.  I won't rehash it all, but the USCCB and Catholic Charities are funded by the feds.  Part of that funding has to do with the number of immigrants - including illegal - that they process.  The amount of funding is based on headcount!  Yes!  If the number of illegal immigrants in this country declines, so too does the amount of funding that the Church hierarchy receives.  Maybe the USCCB's overly-vaunted concern for "the strangers we must welcome" is not completely altruistic.

DACA as promulgated by Obama was patently unconstitutional.  Congress needs to act on this matter, and act first and foremost for the citizens whom they represent - who voted for them and who pay their salaries.
