By His Draconian Treatment Of Father Justin Wylie, Has Cardinal Dolan Shown His True Colors?

The question is rhetorical because the answer is obvious.  Other sites and blogs have been abuzz about this matter.  Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York, is preparing yet another bloodbath of parish closures in the near future.  Among them is Holy Innocents Church that is a fairly vibrant parish - certainly so in comparison with other NYC parishes.  It also features Mass in the Extraordinary Form.

Father Justin Wylie, a priest of the Archdiocese of Johannesburg, South Africa was on assignment to New York City as he worked for the Holy See at the United Nations.  He was a popular priest at Holy Innocents and greatly championed the Mass in the Extraordinary Form.   On May 18th, his sermon included an exhortation for the Archdiocese of New York to send sympathetic priests to shepherd those who had devotion to the Extraordinary Form.  For that, not only were his faculties in the Archdiocese of New York revoked, but the Dolan crew saw fit to complain to the Holy See and to the Archdiocese of Johannesburg.  I suspect that if Father Wylie had been incardinated in the Archdiocese of New York, he might have found himself laicized.

Renew America, in addition to linking to Father Wylie's sermon, mentions that the Archdiocese plans to have Holy Innocents subsumed into St Francis of Assisi parish.  Notice what's on the main page of St Francis of Assisi's website; they are touting their (drums and trumpets, please!) PRE-PRIDE MASS!  It doesn't take much imagination to surmise that this is not much more than a pep rally for the Gay Pride orgy that will occur in NYC soon thereafter.  The parish has a "gay and lesbian ministry".  Odd - I cannot seem to locate their pro-life ministry!

So Cardinal Dolan thinks that Holy Innocent Church should be absorbed into that progressive hornets' nest known as St Francis of Assisi Church?  Perhaps this plan sheds some light on the question asked in this post's title.

The Vortex has weighed in on this matter.  Voris reminds all of another gay-infested NYC church, St. Francis Xavier, with the obvious approval of Cardinal Dolan.  He thinks that many don't remember the incident shown in his clip of St. Francis Xavier.  I do for I posted that video when the news of the incident broke.  Why is a healthy Church like Holy Innocents being shuttered, while heresy-infested parishes like St Francis of Assisi and St Francis Xavier allowed to remain, and in their current states?  Again, a rhetorical question.

  1. With Cardinals like these, who needs enemies? I really wish Cardinal Dolan would abdicate...I've never been a fan of his....something about him screams politician/careerest....

    1. My H has always said the same thing. He has never really cared for him. Something about him, he says seems to scream 'showman'. I on the other hand immediately liked him. Correct me if I'm wrong but he seemed to be traditional in his fight with the HHS Mandate. In time, however, yes, he has been showing his true colors. I am no longer a fan. EWTN still must think he's great though, he has a program every now and again on EWTN, but I no longer will watch it.

  2. This is beyond sad. But unfortunately the disdain for tradition is rampant.

In one of Karl Keatings recent Facebook attacks on anyone "preaching the heresy of tradition" someone posted this story.
Karl immediately deleted it because his blind followers began to rightfully ask questions.
The thread quickly went back to bashing "radtrad reactionists".

How can one not react with our church in such chaos?

  3. The only safe place Cardinals of Dolan's caliber will lead you to is a restaurant. These corrupted shepherds have little care for the flock they should be nurturing and protecting. We must remain charitable, however, and pray for our bishops. Many seem to be in a state of apostasy, including th BoR.

  4. I have to ask, Is Dolan homosexual?
I mean, the big push today is "The Third Way" and telling homosexuals that they are welcome in our parishes, even staying "friends" with their lovers and if they slip up, well, we are all sinners, aren't we?
    Is Cardinal Dolan fighting SSA?

And I LOVE the prayer to St. Michael at the end. It's even better than the one I know.

    1. Hey mom, I wouldn't go as far to say that Dolan is an aberrosexual pervert, but no doubt since the 1960s the priesthood has been infested by them.
The younger, more tradition friendly bishops like +Paprocki, +Sample, and some older ones like +Burke and +A. Schneider are the only hope for the future of having good shepards.

Interestingly, the dissident left wing have a huge beef with +Dolan so no doubt he is having a hard time. The only ones that respect him now are the professional Catholics (think Catholic Answers world-touring apologists, Catholic media petsonalities, others that worship the USCCB because their paychecks are signed by them).

  5. Fr. Wylie has been assigned to a very poor parish in a dangerous area of Johannesburg. Please consider supporting priest and parish with a donation here: https://www.facebook.com/thokozaparish/app_195646697137509?ref=page_internal
