Dreamer Advocates Are Dupes For Alinskyites And Blasphemers

From Catholic News Agency, we read that yesterday about 100 protesters - many of them religious - engaged in a "Catholic Day of Action with Dreamers" at the Russell Senate Office Building.  Approximately 40 of them engaged in civil disobedience, prompting their arrests.  According to the article, it was "an event planned by Catholic social advocacy groups".  Really?  And who might these be?  Two of them are from the "usual gang of suspects".  Reading on, we find that they are:
  • PICO - They are one of several "community organizing" rackets operating under the philosophy and methodology of Saul Alinsky.  Much has been written about them; among their many harmful pet causes is - or was - the promotion of Obamacare.
  • Faith in Public Life - a leftwing front organization funded by George Soros
  • More progressive groups (many featured on this blog) are listed here and here.
The third is something called the DC Catholic Coalition.  Since I hadn't heard of them before reading this article, I decided a search was in order so I googled the name.  I came up with a facebook page belonging to something called "Catholic Coalition".  The memes on the page of this ostensibly "Catholic" organization leave something to be desired - like basic morality, for one.  Here is one, and I regret the offense to sensibilities.  However, we need to see the mentality behind the leaders of this "Catholic Day of Action with Dreamers".

The blasphemy is obvious.  There are more on that page, and some of those are worse than the one to the right.

That is the only link I saw to something entitled "Catholic Coalition".  If the DC Catholic Coalition is not affiliated with this facebook one, please provide proof, along with members' names.  I believe these are one and the same.  Even if they aren't, the PICO and the FPL affiliations by themselves show that the leadership of this "dreamer" sit-in do not adhere to the True Faith.  These squalid associations are typical of those who glom onto "seamless garbage" idiology.  The Venerable Archbishop Fulton Sheen once quipped that Judas was the "patron saint of social justice".  He was right and time again we see this played out.  We faithful Catholics will continue to expose their lunacy.

Community Organizing - Jesuit Style

On Monday, Pope Francis gave an address in which he tried to cajole western nations into accepting even more unvetted immigrants, making the claim that migrants' "rights" trump national security concerns.  Yes, he said that explicitly.  It is said that he is ignoring critics who call his tocsin naive and unrealistic.  Well, not only are they naive, but they are inherently sinful, for he is calling on civil governments to ignore their first duties, that towards their citizens.  I will not rehash what I've already written on his contradiction of Summa Theologica; rather I'll link to it here.  The pope also contradicts the Catechism of the Catholic Church; see here.

In that first link (to Breitbart) the pope is said to have made immigration a "priority of his pontificate".  Odd!  The primary duty of the pontiff has always been to safeguard and promulgate the Faith for the eternal salvation of souls.  Since when do temporal political opinions trump matters of salvation, especially for one so charged?  But I do believe the pope when he says in essence that his priorities are skewed.

Another skewed priority appears to be the toppling of Catholic teaching.  Amoralis Lamentia appears to have been crafted with that aim in mind.  Austrian philosopher Josef Seifert was a friend of Pope St John Paul II and is a staunch defender of Church teachings.  No doubt this was a factor in him being purged from the Pontifical Academy for Life during the draconian purge of several months ago.  He analyzed AL, particularly paragraph 302, and concludes that as it stands, Amoralis Lamentia will destroy the Church's moral doctrine if it is allowed to stand.

Pope Francis is a Jesuit.  Among other things, he evinces all the traits of a modernist.  I'd like now to link to a biographical sketch of another Jesuit who was instrumental in spreading the poison of modernism in that order - Pierre Teilhard de Chardin.  I learned something new and not altogether surprising - that de Chardin is directly descended from Voltaire.  I'm not going to go through the whole thing.  Rather, I'll focus on one quote: "According to my own principles, I cannot fight against Christianity; I can only work inside it by trying to transform and convert it. A revolutionary attitude would be much easier, and much more pleasant, but it would be suicidal. So I must go step by step, tenaciously."(Letter, Mar. 21, 1941)

Sound familiar?  Similar sentiments were voiced by de Chardin's contemporary, Saul Alinsky: "True revolutionaries do not flaunt their radicalism. They cut their hair, put on suits and infiltrate the system from within."  I don't know if the two men knew each other but they both espoused the same evil ends: the deconstruction of Christianity and western civilization.

It seems that both de Chardin and the pope have "infiltrated the system" and are "converting it" (the pope's part still in progress).  Both the massive influx of potentially violent muslim immigrants and the fundamental compromise of the Church's teachings will have destabilizing impacts on civilization and the eternal salvation of millions of souls.  Let me now remind you of another fundamental concept - that of the Cloward-Piven Strategy.  My blogging colleague at Les Femmes pointed out as she was mentioning how the Charlottesville situation was so obviously contrived by progressive Democrats in high places of authority in Virginia government, that the whole thing was an implementation of that strategy.  I've written about it in the past.  Here is a more comprehensive treatment of that strategy.

It sounds like we have "community organizing" going on at the Vatican.  The "communities" being organized are muslim terrorists and dissidents of every stripe in order to bring western civilization to its knees.  We need to keep our eyes open and help others to do the same.

Former Campus Riot Instigator To Give Keynote Address At ADW Conference

In the parish bulletin today was the flyer that you see to your right.  At first glance it might look like quite a lovely event, but a thorough reading of it revealed a "community-organizing" stench to the whole thing.  I googled the name "Greg Hlibok".  Even as I was still typing the letters of his name, scores of links appeared; that is quite often an ominous sign.  Sure enough, it was.

Hlibok, himself deaf, attended Gallaudet University during the late 1980s.  In 1988 the president of the university resigned and some students were adamant that a deaf person be appointed president.  When that didn't happen, they engaged in vandalism, blockading the entrances with hot-wired buses and burning effigies of the new president, carrying on until their demands were met.  Hlibok was one of the leaders.  Regrettably, the Gallaudet Board of Trustees played the cowards and capitulated to the students' temper tantrums.

At the bottom of the flyer we read, "join us and envision ways our Church can empower persons who are deaf..."  Given the despicable conduct of Hlibok and his cronies as described in the previous paragraph, does the local Catholic church really want to promote - even if only tacitly - the antics of that "Deaf President Now" bunch?

Let's look at it from another perspective.  What the "Deaf President Now" did in its conduct of those riots at Gallaudet almost 30 years ago is really quite Alinskyian, is it not?   Moreover, it is a microcosm of the #notmypresident riots that broke out in many cities just after Trump was elected president - again Alinskyian.  The Archdiocese of Washington, with Hlibok giving a keynote address at one of its functions, is giving a "thumbs-up" to progressive organizations who engage in civil unrest when elections results are not what they desire.  The message that they communicate is that it is ok to bully others to get what you want.  Of course it isn't; such conduct is sinful.  Unless there is evidence that Hlibok repented of this sin, he has no business addressing Catholics.

Wolf In Sheep's Clothing

This tells a large part of the story how progressivism invaded the Catholic Church and the United States.  Watch this before you vote.  A vote for the Democrats - or simply abstention from voting for Trump - will further this satanic agenda.  (UPDATE - see post on 6/25/17 to watch the video).

Unions: Hard At Work To Re-elect Obama

The labor unions, aka big labor, are hard at work to make sure their community-organizing buddy wins re-election.  You labor types will be proud of them as the unions do what they do best.  We have some stories to that effect that are guaranteed to bring a tear to your eyes.

First story!  In Toledo, Ohio, four men were caught using a truck registered to the Sheet Metal Workers International Association to transport Romney/Ryan yard signs that had been stolen the night before from the lawns of Romney supporters.  Police were alerted by some of these residents who witnessed the thefts.  Three of those arrested are employees of SWMIA Local 33.  As one individual puts it, it will be interesting to see if they were being paid by the union to commit those thefts.

Second story!  SEIU workers are volunteering for the Obama campaign.  This woman says she has talked to many folks to ask them to vote for Obama.  And apparently they continue to knock on doors even as I write this.  They are all willing and enthusiastic volunteers!  Or..are they?

It appears that some of these volunteers aren't all that willing.  Look at this interview done by the Daily Caller.  Knowing the kinds of stunts that SEIU has pulled in the past (most notably the thuggery during town halls during the Obamacare deliberations), who can put it past them?

Gamaliel Foundation Still Receiving CCHD Funds

And this after it was caught giving a falsified letter to the CCHD regarding its relationship with the Fair Immigration Reform Movement.  The latter organization promotes gay fake-marriage.  I urge you to read the article released today by Red State regarding the subterfuge unearthed by the Reform CCHD Now Coalition and Societas Restituo Catholicam.

The article contains an embedded youtube of a Gamaliel Foundation rally in which their cry "Hear Our Cry, Obama" sounds oddly like a prayer of petition.  Are they ascribing to him the status of deity?  It sure seems like it!  Click here if you cannot see that embedded video.

The overly nonchalant attitude of the CCHD towards this situation is inexcusable.  For those of you in dioceses where the CCHD collection will soon occur, please boycott it.

Vortex - "CCHD Should Demand Return Of Grants"

Some folks opine that Michael Voris' Vortex is a tad too hard-hitting: that he's too strident and blunt.  Or, to use their politically-correct lexicon, he's "mean-spirited, unkind, uncharitable".  In this particular episode, I'm of the opinion that he may actually be soft-pedalling the situation a bit.

Pax Christi At Burtonsville Catholic Church - Community Organizing

Here's the announcement from a newsletter that I receive:

Fund our Communities.  Presentation and discussion on ways the U.S. military budget can be cut to free up money for community needs.  Tuesday, May 17.  7:30 p.m.  Parish Life Center Room 210, Church of the Resurrection, 3315 Greencastle Rd, Burtonsville, MD 20866. Sponsored by Pax Christi Burtonsville.

Here's a little background information on Pax Christi.  Its founding president is Bishop Thomas Gumbleton, formerly the Auxiliary of the Archdiocese of Detroit.  Yes, he's that one!  He's the gay-activist bishop that Rome had to force to resign.  He certainly is idolized by the left.

Its current president is Bishop Gambino Zavala, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.  I noted almost a year ago that he doesn't like blogs such as thisRead why.  I suggest you read the entire post, and watch the clips of Bishop Zavala turning a Mass into an abysmal circus.

Bishop Zavala is also co-president of the board of Interfaith Worker Justice, an organization founding on Alinskyan principles.  Another director of that group is Tom Chabolla.  Where have we heard that name before?  Well, plenty on this blog.  He is a special assistant to the president of the SEIU - you know, the thugs that sent 500 people to stampede all over a bank official's front porch last summer?

So now that we have an idea of the dissidents who've been shaping Pax Christi's goals throughout the years, the above announcement comes as no surprise.  Read their website and see that they are big on dismantling national defense.  Ladies and gentlemen, the pacifism they promote is not in conformity with Catholic social teaching - the teaching that does recognize that a state has an obligation to defend its citzens against unjust aggression.  Whatever one might think of current military engagements, there is no justification for the gutting of the military.

Now as far as "funding the communities" goes, upon whon does that onus lay?  Hint!  Remember the principle of subsidiarity?  If you don't, that's no surprise, as the progressive, big-government lovers don't want you to consider this basic tenet of Catholic social teaching.  As we saw Friday, even the USCCB would like to sweep that under the rug.  Answer to the question?  It's not with the Federal government, as is implied in the announcement; it's with us Catholics in the pews.

To those of you at the Church of the Resurrection, please ask your pastor why this is being allowed on Church property.  By the way - I looked on your parish website.  Under "social justice" I see Pax Christi, Just Faith - but I see no pro-life committee!  Why is that???

CCHD Grantee List For 2010-2011 Released - Finally!

Given the list of grantees, we can see why they were reluctant to release it, since it appears to be more of the "same-old-same-old".  That is, Alinsyite groups continue to receive Catholic dollars (although perhaps just a tad bit fewer).  I link to it here.  I'd suggest you download this pdf and save it to your own computers, lest it (ahem!) "mysteriously disappear"?

My colleague at Les Femmes has commenced some examination of this list; go ahead and review it.  I'll commence my own review soon.  As soon as information is available, I'll post or link to it.  At any rate, we again urge one and all to let that collection basket pass - or better yet, place a note therein explaining why the CCHD is a menace to the True Faith and should die its overdue death.

Gamaliel Foundation Displays Its Double-Talk

Before I begin, I ask you to read the following articles written by my two Catholic Media Coaltion colleagues.  The topic is the Gamaliel Foundation, a progressive organization portraying itself as a "faith-based, community-organizing" outfit.  One of the writers, Stephanie Block, has done an enormous amount of research on these "community-organizing" groups.

http://www.speroforum.com/site/print.asp?idarticle=48102
http://lesfemmes-thetruth.blogspot.com/2011/02/soros-money-funds-faith-based-community.html
http://www.speroforum.com/site/print.asp?idarticle=48203
http://lesfemmes-thetruth.blogspot.com/2011/02/gamaliels-useful-theology.html

Someone, presumably associated with the Gamaliel Foundation, has commented on the two "lesfemmes" posts.  I direct your attention now to the second of the four links above and ask that you study "Gamaliel's" comment carefully.  He starts off with a quote from the bishops in 1986, "No one may deny the right to organize without attacking human dignity itself."

As I read the four articles, I saw no talk of denying anyone "the right to organize".  What the two authors did was merely make public some facts about Gamaliel that reasonable people would deem to be unsavory.  How does that "deny the right to organize"?

What Gamaliel attempted to do with this statement was to demonize the two authors by trying to ascribe to them malicious motives.  This is quite a common trick of progressives, an employment of the non-sequitur fallacy.  One example of this is found in pro-abortion talking points.  We want to eliminate the murder of babies, so they shriek that "we don't care if women die".

However, I do suppose we bloggers and writers have denied Gamaliel and his/her bunch several things, to wit:
  • The ability to define the terms of conversation about such matters.
  • The ability to change definitions of words willy-nilly
  • The lack of scrutiny of their own shady sources of funds
  • The ability to insinuate progressive/liberal thinking into the Church without challenge
For these so-called "denials" I and my colleagues proclaim "MEA CULPA!

More Shady Business As Usual At CCHD

The Diocese of Oakland California, in its latest edition of its paper, the Catholic Voice, unabashedly announces that some more of the "usual suspects" are receiving national CCHD grants.  From that article we read, "A relatively new organization called Genesis, an affiliate of the Gamaliel Foundation, received a national grant of $30,000 toward its efforts to address “public policy issues that deny opportunity and enhance concentration of poverty” in Alameda County, said the Rev. Scott Denman, pastor of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Oakland, who is the chair of Genesis." (emphasis mine)  Yes, they are affiliates with the Gamaliel Foundation, the progressive organization from whence the Messiah Most Miserable launched his pernicious "community organizing" career.

There's more.  Again from Catholic Voice we read, "Another group, Congregations Organizing for Renewal (COR), received $35,000 from CCHD. Its mission is to develop leadership among low- and moderate-income adults of southern Alameda County in order to empower them to participate in the decision-making process in local governing boards and committees that deal with issues such as education, housing, job training, violence prevention, health care, immigration and youth development."  They're a bit more discreet with this organization; the CV doesn't reveal the COR is a PICO affiliate.  This bunch (PICO) was founded by Father John Baumann, S.J., who was trained in Alinsky's organizing techniques.  Yep!  CCHD national money is going to dubious "community organizing" groups, be such donations ever so quiet.

Speaking of "community organizing" rackets, there is talk of the Republican-controlled House launching a real investigation into ACORN.  Watch this clip from Fox's "Follow the Money", here.

CCHD - "$300k to Oil Spill Areas" - But Why???

This is the word from the USCCB.  The entire press release is here.  At first glance, it looks just fine.

HOWEVER....

Sometimes things require a closer look.  I will quote the paragraph describing projected fund usage.  The emphasis (bold) that you will see in the quotes are mine.  Here it is.

The groups who receive the grants will use the funds to provide a voice for the fishermen and communities affected by the spill, coordinate with communities and emergency responders to document the damage, as well as insist on work to restore the damaged wetlands.

Think about those bolded words.  Sounds like "business as usual", right?  Particularly the last one is telling.  Note that the funds aren't going towards the actual recovery efforts themselves, but they're going for lobbying!  Who will be lobbied?  The government!  And with what funds will the government be expected to repair the wetlands?  Hint - hold onto your wallet.  The money that you'll be asked to contribute in the next CCHD collection will be used to raise your tax dollars - and not too much of that (if any) will go to actual relief efforts.

Now what's with all this "documentation" and "voice"?  This is all busywork for "community organizers."  What the USCCB described as the purposes of this $300k seems not to encompass even one of the Corporal Works of Mercy.

The CCHD (and perhaps the entire USCCB) should be dismantled immediately, before more money is squandered to the detriment of the Church and this nation.

The Bishops and Bogus "Immigration Reform"

In the previous post, I mentioned the USCCB's embrace of "environmentalism" as a way in which they seek to bring the US Church into lock-step conformity with the progressive agenda being crammed down our throats.

Another avenue into which the USCCB seeks to drive us, as sheep to the slaughter, is through "immigration reform".   I now link to an article written by my colleague, Stephanie Block.  She lives in New Mexico (a border state) and has done extensive research on various Alinskyite groups and those within the Church that seek to corrode the mission that Jesus gave to the Church..  I urge its study.

Now just what harm would be done by removing our national border controls, as suggested by these groups?  Well, remember the Cloward-Piven strategy.  In a nutshell, the aim is to bring down a society by overwhelming it with impossible demands.  Open the floodgates to unregulated immigration and demands galore will suddenly assail us: social services, etc.  It is unreasonable to expect any system or society to meet that kind of demand, all good intentions notwithstanding.  We have only to look to California to see how that state has become bankrupt due to overwhelming demand.  The capacity of any society is limited; it is not reasonable to expect any society to be a boundless cash cow.  Despite their self-righteous attempts to "guilt-trip" us to try to meet these demands, the progressives know we can't!  That's their idea!

There's yet another angle.  Do you remember that clip from the previous post, where it talks about the demise of democracy, where it says democracy will end when folks decide they can "vote themselves" extra goodies?   The progressives want those types of voters; that's why they have engaged in their various "community organizing" stunts for much of the 20th century.  They believe that these immigrants will vote their way.

Sadly, I believe the USCCB realizes all this, too.  They are acting as willing accomplices to the destruction of the USA.

An In-Depth Look at Alinskyte Organizing - WIth Its Telling Ties!

Real Catholic TV has launched a new series called "Catholic Investigative Agency".  Its premiere was made available last evening.  In this episode, Michael Voris takes an in-depth look at the history of Alinsky, "community organizing" and its entanglement with the Catholic Church.

One aspect of all this network was previously unknown to me.  I knew Msgr Jack Egan was a disciple of Alinsky and was instrumental in the formation of the Campaign for Human Development.  He was in Chicago, of course.  What I did not know was that when Egan was finally booted out of the Chicago chancery, he was taken in by Father Hesbergh of Notre Dame!  In fact, Egan set up shop there for many years thereafter.  Doesn't that shed new light on the Obama commencement scandal?  It's no wonder now that our protests availed nothing!

Please watch it by clicking the link below.  It is about 1 hour and 20 minutes long (that's why it's not on youtube).  However, it is well worth the time spent.

CCHD Monies Going to DC-Area Alinskyan Groups

I had searched the website of the Archdiocese of Washington (DC) to examine grants given to local groups, both from the national fund and the local fund. None were to be found. I contacted Mary McGinnity who runs the social justice efforts of the Archdiocese to ask where I could find these.

Ms McGinnity was very cordial and replied that many of her staff, including the CCHD Director, were laid off this past year due to cutbacks (I do remember that happening). She knew off the top of her head four local groups that received national funding last year. They are:

Washington Interfaith Network
Project Action
Partnership for Renewal in Southern and Central Maryland
Empower DC

Let's look at two of these, one by one. As I describe each, please click on its hyperlink to note interesting and troubling points.

Let's look at the Washington Interfaith Network. Right away, you'll notice that it is an affiliate of the Industrial Areas Foundation. This foundation was established by Saul Alinsky in 1940 "to restore the democratic way of life for modern society." Alinsky was an atheist and a socialist: qualities about which he was very frank in his book, "Rules for Radicals". In that book, he outlines what he considers to be principles for "community organizing": ostensibly to better the lot of marginalized people, but also to foster socialism. I would urge its close study, since that has become a key guidebook to all such "organizers", including Barack Hussein Obama himself. It is interesting to note that Alinsky dedicates his book to Lucifer, "the first community organizer..who at least won his own kingdom."

The motto that flashes through the lead WIN page is "we organize for power to transform communities." Well, gee whiz, if that's true, why did I not see any sign of them at last Sunday's "The People's Rally", where hundreds of local DC residents gathered to insist that they be allowed to vote on the DC Council's same-sex-marriage recognition? (Note: see my post a few down this page to see what happened at that rally).

Partnership for Renewal in Southern and Central Maryland is an affiliate of the Gamaliel Foundation. An examination of their website reveals their position on the Obama health care behemoth before Congress. They itch for the public option and they utter not one peep in protest about the multiple threats to the unborn and elderly that is inherent in this bill. At the bottome of the Partnership website is a link to the Gamaliel Foundation website. Click on that and scroll all the way to the bottom. You'll see extolled thereon the Messiah Most Miserable himself; they gush over Obama's former affiliation with them. But wait! Who else appears on that page? Why, it's Valerie Jarrett, long-time Chicago-political-hardball crony of the Messiah Most Miserable. Now an organization such as Gamaliel that ostensibly prides itself on championing the poor and downtrodden feature a woman who has had uh, some troubles managing residential real estate?

While it's true that CCHD might have disowned ACORN (after many years of pleas on the parts of alert, faithful Catholics), recipient organizations such as the two just described do indicate that the CCHD remains unacceptable as a recipient of donation dollars on November 22.

We urge a complete boycott of the CCHD collection on November 21-22. Please visit the CCHD-related and ACORN-related posts on this blog for more information and tools for the boycott. Also, please visit the blogs listed at the right. I also urge close study of the information posted on the website of the Catholic Media Coalition. Comments and questions welcome, given the already-stated rules for such.
