St. Michael The Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protector against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray. And dost thou, o prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan & all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
This prayer is part of a larger collection of prayers after Mass that Pope Leo XIII had directed to be said after all Low Masses. Most of us recall these as the Leonine Prayers. I've been praying these privately after Mass now for several years. Here they are.
PRAYERS OF POPE LEO XIII AFTER MASS
- Hail Mary (3x)
- Hail Holy Queen
- Let us pray. O God, our refuge and our strength, look down with favor upon Thy people who cry out to Thee; and through the intercession of the glorious and immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of God, of Saint Joseph her spouse, of Thy Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, and of all the saints, do Thou mercifully and graciously hear the prayers which we pour forth to Thee, for the conversion of sinners and for the freedom and exaltation of Holy Mother Church. Through the same Christ our Lord, Amen.
- Prayer to St. Michael
- Invocation to the Sacred Heart (3x)
I join the Vortex in thanking Bishop Paprocki for recognition of our need for angelic help in our spiritual warfare. Click here if you can't see embedded video.
