Illinois Bishops Fighting Sodomite Marriage Perversion

Bishop Paprocki of Springfield has asked assistance in spreading information of his struggle for authentic marriage in Illinois.  Since Maryland has already degraded itself in that fashion, we are most happy to offer assistance.  Here is his letter.  Click here if you cannot see embedded video.

  1. 1. The way you, Church Militant, Catholic Vote, Fr. Z, are publicizing this letter, you’d never guess that “same sex” civil unions were legalized in Illinois on January 31, 2011 (two years ago) and went into effect on June 1, 2011. As Shakespeare said, “"What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet."

    2. Both in 2011 and today, the president of the Illinois Senate, John Cullerton, is Catholic, the speaker of the Illinois House, Mike Madigan, is Catholic and the Governor, Pat Quinn, is Catholic—almost a mirror image of Maryland. [The bill’s sponsor Heather Steans’ father is also a large donor to “Catholic” DePaul University and has sat on its board of trustees.

But these politicians’ Catholicism was only of concern to Paprocki when Quinn credited his “faith” for leading him to support gay unions. Then Paprocki issued a statement: “If the governor wishes to pursue a secular agenda for political purposes, that is his prerogative for which he is accountable to the voters. But if he wishes to speak as a Catholic, then he is accountable to Catholic authority, and the Catholic Church does not support civil unions or other measures that are contrary to the natural moral law.”

Apparently one can don and doff Catholicism like a baseball cap. As long as one is not wearing one’s Catholic cap, it is one’s prerogative (right or privilege) to pursue a secular agenda for political (or any other?) purposes. When Gov. Quinn is pursuing his secular agenda, only “the voters” can hold him accountable. One wonders when the governor (or the bishop) is accountable to God—the guy the bishop is supposed to represent (24/7).
Like that quote, this letter is extraordinarily godless. Only temporal consequences of the bill are mentioned and only temporal actions to oppose it recommended. Mimicking the logic of the quote, it is the voters who are to “make sure our elected representatives know that they will be held to account.” But to what account? Obviously the legislators have already calculated their own best political interest. And obviously the bishops have already consulted their lawyers and only wish to exclude those so “married” from “senior leadership positions” at Catholic hospitals, charities and colleges. Do believers read letters in God’s house of prayer in times of peril or do they fall down on their knees, beat their breasts and beg for mercy like the publican or the apostles in the storm or Job or Jonah or Nineveh?
    3. Instead of teaching “those committed to my pastoral care” Catholic morals, Paprocki writes, “regardless of how one views the sexual acts of a same-sex couple morally.” He also twice plants the seed for expanding marriage into an orgy: “nor for that matter three or more people” and “or multiple lovers in groups of three or more”. Perhaps he has been taking courses at DePaul University in LGBTQ studies or attending LGBTQ sensitivity training required ONLY for disadvantaged minority students on scholarship at Georgetown University or participated in one of Cardinal McCarrick’s or Cardinal Schonborn’s (last supper) orgies.

  2. 4. Having disregarded the morality of homosexual acts to simply state the natural fact that they cannot produce life which defines the marital act, Paprocki proceeds to ignore the legalization of abortion. One cannot “preserve marriage” (or the family), however, when it was destroyed on January 22, 1973 by the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that even a legally married man had no legal right to prevent his wife from killing the child fruit of their marital union while it was attached in any way to her body. Paprocki posits a right for children to be reared by their natural parents that he pretends to believe legislators will respect when he (and his flock) know full well these same Illinois (Catholic) legislators deny a child’s right to life–indeed defend with the full force and authority of Illinois law the right of a mother to murder her child to the tune of more than 45,000 murders a year or 125 a day—the fourth highest number in the nation in 2009. http://www.abort73.com/abortion_facts/states/illinois/
He asks, “If children don’t need both their father and mother, why should fathers stick around?” when nationwide the number of children living in single parent homes has nearly doubled since 1973:
    http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/dec/25/fathers-disappear-from-households-across-america/?page=all
“After steadily rising for five decades, the share of children born to unmarried women has crossed a threshold: more than half of births to American women under 30 occur outside marriage.” NYT 2/18/12
    http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/18/us/for-women-under-30-most-births-occur-outside-marriage.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0
He states that this bill will enshrine in our law the ideas that “the main purpose of marriage is adult satisfactions” and “what essentially makes a marriage is romantic-emotional union” when in reality:
“Yet now that the institutional model has lost its hold over the lives of American adults, sex, children, and intimacy can be had outside of ¬marriage. All that remains unique to marriage today is the prospect of that high-quality emotional bond — the soul-mate model. As a result, marriage is now disproportionately appealing to wealthier, better-¬educated couples, because less-educated, less-wealthy couples often do not have the emotional, social, and financial resources to enjoy a high-quality soul-mate marriage….In other words, the soul-mate model of marriage does not extend equal marital opportunities. It therefore makes sense that fewer poor Americans would take on the responsibilities of modern married life, knowing that they are unlikely to reap its rewards.”

  3. 5. After refusing to preach or teach the faith and morals of the Catholic Church (or mention any God but “nature’s”) or to acknowledge the 300 pound elephants of legalized abortion, Catholic leadership of the state government, and homosexual infestation of the Catholic Church, he has the gall to label this bill a “lethal attack on religious liberty.” “We saw the harmful consequences of deceptive titles all too painfully when Catholic Charities was forced out of foster care and adoption services in Illinois by the “Religious Freedom Protection and Civil Union Act”. [He also cries about this business loss at a speech unveiling a nativity scene at the state capitol. He stands right by the baby Jesus and the holy family and wishes everyone a Merry Christmas w/out once mentioning the 45,000 babies who lost their LIVES in Illinois that year. https://www.thomasmoresociety.org/?s=nativity-scene+12+01+11]
Employers, businesses (including church businesses) and government workers who don’t comply with the law will be unable to avoid “legal penalties” and “harsh discriminatory treatment.” “The state would have equated our view with bigotry—which it uses the law to marginalize in every way SHORT of criminal punishment.” Again Paprocki makes no mention that it was Catholic Senator Ted Kennedy (three cardinals attended his Catholic funeral) who sponsored the 1994 F.A.C.E. Act which did CRIMINALIZE civil disobedience at abortion clinics (and [deceptively] “places of worship”) or of the people who have been repeatedly vilified, harassed, arrested, fined, jailed and murdered while trying to help pregnant families stumbling to the slaughter and protesting abortion– even at Notre Dame University and outside of Cardinal Wuerl’s cathedral.

When 50 million innocent babies have been brutally murdered by our society and 3,500 more are ruthlessly killed each day, it is uncanny to hear priests, bishops and cardinals whining about their own prospective temporal “peril”. Especially when it is God who has done it (did they think He was doing nothing just because they were?). Let them read Hebrews 12:1-6 and remember that “the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.” Hebrews 4:12-13.

  4. I wonder why no-one is publicizing Cardinal George’s letter– at least he recommends prayer at the end (for the state):
    http://www.catholiccitizens.org/platform/platformview.asp?c=54506
His letter is notable for equating “the bad” homosexual group AGLO started by Cardinal Bernardin (see more info below) w/ “the good” homosexual group: Courage. According to George, the difference in the two is not chastity, but whether they live their homosexuality publicly or anonymously:
“The Archdiocese offers Mass and other spiritual help to those who live their homosexuality anonymously (Courage groups) and also to those who want to be publicly part of the gay community (AGLO, which celebrates its twenty fifth anniversary this year).”
AGLO marched in 2007 gay pride march, but when news got out in 2008 Cardinal George forbid the march:

Pursuant to the employment issue, after civil unions pass in Illinois, AGLO announces open search for LGTBQ choir director:

And another visitor who wonders how AGLO continues to meet on church property: “The Wild Reed. Thoughts and reflections from a progressive, gay, Catholic perspective.”

He works for CPCSM--Catholics for gay marriage in Minnesota:

    And another AGLO congregant:
“Ron Helizon, 65, passed away due to complications of a stroke March 6. He was the beloved partner of Gordon Burrows. Known as "The Polish Princess", Helizon was a popular bar owner and community activist for several decades. He was especially vocal in Catholic gay outreach as a member of the Archdiocese Gay and Lesbian Outreach ( AGLO ) .”
    http://www.windycitytimes.com/gay/lesbian/news/ARTICLE.php?AID=30830
Cardinal George states in his letter, “We will all have to pretend to accept something that is contrary to the common sense of the human race.” Obviously, he’s been pretending for a very long time under a very corrupt authority. He too ignores the fact that 50 MILLION babies have ALREADY died and another 3,500 died today and another 3,500 will die tomorrow to invoke nature’s God over his flock: “What happens next? … Human dignity and human rights are THEN (my emphasis) reduced to the whims of political majorities. When the ways of nature and nature’s God conflict with civil law, society is in danger. It is to that danger we direct your attention. We urge you to visit www.ilcatholic.org...”
Meanwhile, back at the Vatican, the Lord of Misrule has elevated to the episcopacy another one of his secretaries. Last Jan 6 it was the unusual Msgr. C.B.
