Another Scandalous Funeral For A Flamboyant Dissident - Time To Speak Up

Today's Vortex gives the details regarding a very public funeral for a Planned Parenthood and pro-gay activist.  In it, Voris alludes to contact information for the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston; here it is.

UPDATE - The entire archdiocesan site seems to be down at this time.  In the meantime, ChurchMilitant did provide some phone numbers at this link.  (Now it's back up.)

  1. Strangely enough, when you click on the link it is........inactive. I would suggest to the faithful of Galviston Houston Diocese to withhold monies to the collection basket on a mass scale. That will get their attention. As someone in the combox of Church Militant has pointed out the Mayor is openly gay. Interesting.

    1. The entire archdiocesan site appears to be down. I can't imagine they'd deactivate their entire site simply because of the Vortex video. Meanwhile, I put up a ChurchMilitant link with phone numbers.

  2. If you know Cardinal DeNardo, Father Jozwiak owes Michael Voris big as Mr. Voris has just guaranteed that Father will remain as Cathedral Rector and Judicial Vicar for as long as he chooses. The American Bishops collectively have identified Michael Voris as a threat to their authority and will not give an inch. Whether that is good or bad is a matter of opinion, but it is the fact that the Bishops don't and won't give into pressure. There needs to be another strategy.

    1. We need to learn to speak the language of "ka-ching"!

    2. I would say the best 'strategy' would be to hit them in the wallet so to speak. MONEY and the lack of it always talks the talk and walks the walk. Meanwhile, so as to uphold one's obligation to support the Church, one can always give to a local traditional Catholic parish instead, and also to local "truly Catholic" organizations.

    3. We can't afford to live in the rarified atmosphere of those who agree with our own opinions. While conservatives tend to be more generous givers of those who support their opinions than liberals, numerically the financial balance will fall on those who agree with Msgr Jozwiak or those who think like him. Had he refused a funeral to this woman, the fallout would have been even louder. The vast majority, vast majority, of Catholics these days are in love with Pope Francis and where he is taking the Church; while the Church may lose its more generous donors with the current direction, the financial loss would be even more should the bishops resist Pope Francis and his "pastoral" approach. that is why I say you must search for another strategy--the pursestrings are not on your side.

    4. "The purse strings are not on our side"? Be that as it may, so what? When the Church started with just a small group of Christians led by 12 Apostles, they had a lot more than mere purse strings opposing them. We must obey God's commands, no matter how "unpopular" they may be.

  3. I agree with you that we need to obey God's commands regardless of popular opinion; I am only saying that a financial boycott as you and TLM have suggested, while it sometimes works on a parish level, is not likely to be effective in changing the direction of either local bishops or the Holy Father.

    1. At the very least, those who boycott will know that their money will not be squandered on nonsense. If enough participate there will be impact. Might additional measures (yet to be determined) be needed? That's certainly possible, but that would not preclude a boycott of collections.

    2. Withholding funds from such scandalous parishes is an excellent idea! Let them wither on the vine. Send your money to those who are faithful.

  4. It has always upset me here in the archdiocese of Galveston Houston that our cardinal and many priests shy away from protesting in front of that very same Planned Parenthood.

Then our cardinal permitted the installation of a Methodist female bishop in that very same cathedral.

Cardinal DiNardo's response as president of the USCCB was embarrassing.

My opinion of our cardinal and bishop has continued to deteriorate. What is a Catholic layperson to do. We must speak out! It's time to stop this sensitivity drivel and return our church to Christ.
